Unfortunately I had the saddest and worst service from George. He helped with my bmw but when Train malfunction lit up he said he didn't know how and called bmw. He then told me to drive it and he can diagnose it I asked are you sure it won't break down on me he said he was sure. I broke down 3 days after doing what he said and I called him. He been rudely and uncaring said "IM ON VACATION! " How was I supposed to know his schedule of life ! I wasn't told anything. Just to drive it and "don't worry ". In the end The engine was dust and he gave some rude remark about the engines for the 328i. He said he can't help "sorry I'm on vacation. Take it to bmw". I had already paid him about $700 for this problem and he refuses to repay me saying "I did my job I'm done". Thanks for nothing George. And maybe be a little bit kind and patient to people trying to get some help. I had no idea of your vacation either ! Awful experience. I'd find another mechanic for anyone looking. read more

He's worked on everything from my ex-wife's classic VW Rabbit to my Hennessey Camaro, Renntech ML63 and now my Dirt King Nissan Titan. I needed my car looked at because the dash lights have been on and I can't get it to pass the smog check. I had talked to a couple other mechanics who were rude & treated me as if I had no brain. George was very accommodating in being able to look at and fix my car. The shop is so clean and they treated me with respect and didn't talk down to me because I am a woman. I was referred to Spot 44 Auto Repairs by friends who were really happy with the service they received and after taking my car there for the first time, I won't go anywhere else! As a younger woman it can be hard to find honest mechanics, but George and Mario are very fair and reliable. They always take the time to show/ explain what's going on with my car (VW beetle), and they always give me a great deal, sometimes they don't even charge me for minor adjustments! I don't write reviews but I had to in this case. So happy I got recommended to Spot 44 and George. The Audi dealer told me that I needed to replace the turbo on my Q5 to the tune of $4k - $5k (Don't Trust The Dealer Folks!!!) and George was able to diagnose and fix the issue for a fraction of that. The shop is immaculate which I feel is the tell tale sign of a great mechanic and George will be getting both mine and all of my friends' business from here on out. So, I've been doing business with these guys for over 5 years now. They worked on my cars and on my fiancee's car as well. And God, I had so many different cars those years. I remember when I stopped by with a complicated Porsche 944 from 1984 and they did it good. I had to buy a radiator hose for $400 at the dealership and George figure out a better way to solve the problem. With a $10 hose, he molded a new hose exactly like the Porsche original. The hose has been seating in my car for the past 4 years and the porsche is running like a champ. I'm also had a Mitsubishi Eclipse, a Mercedes ML320 and a Nissan Frontier, all taken care by George. read more

I went to three places to fix my tire before calling spot 44. I got a bolt in it and everyone was trying to tell me I had to buy a new $200 tire! I went to Spot 44 after reading some reviews since it is close to me, and they fixed my tire! Quick and cheap! This place is honest and will NOT rip you off. They also do a great job. I can't believe I overlooked writing this review last year when I first used George's services at Spot 44. I was then new to California and knew of no mechanic I could trust not to rip me off. I randomly chose Spot 44 for it's proximity to my apartment. Judging by the luxury vehicles in their lot, I wasn't sure this was the right place to bring my old Honda. But George was friendly and seemed knowledgeable and trustworthy. He assured me he was happy to work on any vehicle. His price was fair then, and his services and fees have remained fair on the several occasions I've returned to him since. His work is always prompt and excellent. This place is amazing. A mechanic named Mario has been helping me figure out what to do bc my timing chains broke. It turns out that I will sell the car and not ask this shop to fix it (it's not worth it) but they have been allowing it to be parked at their place at no charge, and have been so helpful.
