Still serious lack in vegetarian options even though it's 2021 and that's the fast growing food "trend" of the decade. So we only go for the beer not the food. But I still like this place, i just wish they'd up their food game. Also this is a bar/pub so more shareable foods are sort of essential. This new brewery has the potential to be good, and may earn more stars from me in the future if they can add a menu. When we went, they had four beers on tap, and we tried the Nut Brown Ale and the Belgian wit, which were reasonably priced and served with free peanuts. I'm a big fan of Blue Moon, which may mean that I have very pedestrian taste in beverages, but I thought the Belgian was almost as good as a Blue Moon. The brewery is small but it wasn't super noisy, and the atmosphere is appealingly non-divey. Right now you can order pizza from the Lorenzo's takeout in Mesilla Park and have it delivered to the brewery, but I'm looking forward to some future time when they might have an actual menu and I will consider giving them more stars. read more

In town passing through on a four day road trip. Family member suggested we go and it was a bit late and we were close to the time of the kitchen closing. NICE PLACE, VERY FRIENDLY, GOOD FOOD, GOOD BREW The Spotted Dog Brewery at the south end of Mesilla is a smallish local brew pub where all beer is brewed on sight. They offer six or eight "classics" every week and a number of other beers that rotate every so often. Classics include their IPA, Amber Ale, Cream Ale and Belgian Wit. Their menu is essentially pub food. They offer a Green Chile Philly, some burgers, a dish of clams and linguine, a chicken sandwich, a pulled pork sandwich, a Cuban, and wings. Their head chef has culinary school experience. Don't be put off by the small parking area out front. Don't panic! Just drive behind the gas station next door and you'll find a large parking lot. No problem. Just a short thirty yard walk to the bistro. Inside the pub is bright and clean with sturdy wood tables and chairs and a very high ceiling. The floor is cement. On each table is a metal bucket containing peanuts in their shells. A smallish bar with about six stools is present. They have outdoor patio dining in both the front and the side. For casual dining and drinking this is a nice place. The young gentleman I found working the dining and drinking area was most personable and very friendly....a really nice guy. He made our experience a comfortable one and made us feel most welcome. He did a nice job providing service and he created a most hospitable environment. For food I ordered a burger and their beer battered fries. The 1/3 pound burger came with green chile, cheese, shredded lettuce, and tomato. The bun was substantial and held up well. Its flavor was quite good. The green chile gave the burger a little zing but the heat was not overpowering. The burger itself was nicely seasoned. This was a very tasty and very good burger. The fries were not at all greasy, a little crispy, and they had good flavor. For the price...about $8.00...this was an excellent meal. What to expect if you go: A nice little place for experiencing craft beer, a very friendly and accommodating staff, and very good pub food. Prices are very reasonable. Restaurant rating = FOUR STARS......meaning, quite good for the overall experience. read more

The Spotted Dog is a great place! The brews are good and the environment is very chill. I prefer it over a few other places in Cruces that tend to get jam packed and attract an obnoxious crowd. Went to the Spotted Dog Brewery while visiting the area. We love to visit breweries and found this place to be wonderful. It is small with a nice hometown feel. There were 10 of their beers on tap. We started by tasting 2 flights, total of 8 beers. All were very good. Our favorites, the farm house ale, and the hefeweizen, but it was difficult to choose because they were all good. We took home a double walled stainless steel growler of the IPA and it was still cold 6 hours later. There is a food truck that makes Sandwiches , a waiter takes orders at your table. We had the BBQ and Philly sub and Holy Mole Burger, all with a spicy tex mex flair and were perfect with the beer. The staff was very nice and knowledgeable. I would definately rate this brewery's beer collection to be in my top 3 of all time. Wish we lived closer!! read more

Most recent visit, I happened to be alone, and Micah provided great and friendly service. I had the Po Boy, a huge fish sandwich, of which I took half home, as my wife has been out of town for the past week. Last visit and this, I had a "Wee Heavy," a barrel-aged wonder. It's a limited edition they brew for their anniversary each September, and I look forward to it! Can't pound down six-paxk, but who would want to. I wish I would have gotten the name of the prissy blonde who immediately made us uncomfortable before we even sat down. I was asked for my id twice and was only checked on once. The beer is good, but the service and workers (at least two that I experienced) were rude. After one beer, we went over to High Desert and now know where to continue going.
