Peaceful patio dining and a gorgeous sunset dinner (although I can't give the restaurant credit for the clouds haha). My favorite was the baba ganoush and the brussel sprouts. And I believe the menu says all the meats are Halal! Staff was very generous with refilling our iced mint tea. A great spot for sharing plates with your loved ones!

It pays to get off the square where you can find more imaginative fare like this. This place does not have much of a street presence and the parking can be tough but it's worth it. Cute, rustic outdoor seating. Waitresses are nice and took some time with us. Mediterranean food was visually stunning and delicious. Serving are huge. You could split some stuff

When a place is recommended to me twice in the space of an hour, I know I have to try it. When my friend heard I was going to Sonoma, her first thought was that I should go to Spread Kitchen and my friend in Sonoma also referred to it as a favorite in his group. For those looking for flavorful vegan options, this is one of the best vegan/vegetarian-friendly menus I've seen in a long time. While halal meat and protein can be added to most dishes, they're easily avoided and nothing seems to lacking as a result. While I was tempted by the dips, veggie maze options and wraps, I ended up opting for their roasted beet fattoush and my son ordered their dirty fries. The turmeric chicken with toum (a Lebanese condiment made with fresh garlic and magic fairy dust I presume, was incredibly tender. Toum isn't like anything I've had before. It was obviously fresh and has a delicate, mild flavor. I had to reread the menu to remember that it has a garlic base. The pita chips were housemade and dusted with seasonings. My son's dirty fries were a generous serving and we both had tea to accompany our meals: a caffeinated mint for me and organic chai for him. Our server, Nicole, kindly brought my son more hot water too when he finished his initial cup. We indulged in their rice pudding as well, which has cardamom and nuts, almonds I think. It's beautifully garnished and served cold. The service is casual, but we didn't have to wait to be greeted or served. The food came quickly and it seems like most of the items on the menu are also well suited to take out. A number of their dips are available in carry out containers. They have a small dining room with a half dozen small tables, plus an outdoor patio, which we didn't explore since it was a rather cold February evening, but plenty of people seemed to have accepted seating outside. I'll definitely be back! I want to explore many of the other items on the menu! Thanks to my friends for the recommendation. This was my first foray into Lebanese food, but I'm looking forward to the next!

A group of us had a late lunch at Spread Kitchen to celebrate a friend's birthday after a morning of wine tasting. For most of us it was our first time visiting, and the servers were friendly and patient, answering questions and offering suggestions. We had a reservation and were seated in the back garden patio, which was such a pleasant spot on a sunny day. The trees provided natural shade and there were cute decorative items hanging along the walls and branches (for sale, I think). We ordered a couple of dip plates and apps to share across the tables. My husband and I split a grain bowl with chicken plus a side of lamb kofta, and the portions ended up being just right for the two of us. And of course we had to finish with dessert - their homemade baklava was the perfect sweet ending. Would happily return.

Spread is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant in Sonoma. I stopped by on a weeknight evening, and even though it's not a big place, it has a warm, welcoming vibe -- and the service was very fast. I ordered the grain bowl with chicken, and the portion was huge. The chicken was juicy and perfectly seasoned, and the hummus was tasty. One of the highlights for me: plenty of gluten-free options, including pita bread and even dessert! A big plus for anyone with dietary restrictions. There's a small parking lot right next to the restaurant, which makes things convenient.

Loved the variety of the dip plate! Got four dips: muhammara, labneh, hummus, and ganoush! The olives and pickled veggies with pita stay true to the simple and flavorful Lebanese dish. We also got the beef sirloin wrap, which the large is enough to split for two especially when you get the dip plate. It's seems to be a casual dining experience with indoor and outdoor eating.

Last day in town and our brothers-in-law treated us to lunch at this establishment. We selected an outside table and it was nicely shaded. We selected wraps (three different options) and I added the Vegan Dirty Fries. The service was perfect and our selections arrived quickly. Very refreshing dips with the most amazing falafel! I'm so glad Spread Kitchen offers smaller sized dips with all the different flavor profiles. They go through each spread by detail. All of them were super refreshing. I would highly recommend to order a side dish of the falafel. I already can't wait to be back for another visit and try more items from the menu!

What a gem - I ended up visiting this place twice on my trip to Sonoma. The backyard patio is cute and shaded enough for a hot day. There is also limited seating inside the restaurant. The food itself came quick after we ordered at the counter. Fresh, flavorful, and colorful. Every bite was a delight - the vegetarian falafel bowl was a great portion, almost enough for 2 people. The 3 dip mezze was also a great choice. My favorite was the muhammara and the feta beet dip my last. Every vegetable in the bowl felt as if it was sourced from a Farmers Market - from light green snappy bell peppers to sweet tomatoes that just popped in your mouth. I recommend this as a staple on everyones list.

Hands-down the best restaurant I've been to in years. If this place was in San Francisco, it would have lines out the door and around the block. Head chef and founder Cristina Topham has put together a beautiful menu with brilliant flavor combinations. Wow! My meal at Spread was soooo delicious and beautifully presented. I went with my in-laws so we got to sample a lot and I was floored by everything I had. The Hummus, Muhammara, and Baba Ganoush were the best I've ever tasted and I eat a lot of Baba and Hummus--each spread was perfectly flavored & divine! The Falafel, Tumeric Chicken, Beef Shwarma, and Kofta were absolutely scrumptious. Zaatar fries with Garlic dip--so good! Tabouleh was wonderful and even my white wine was fragrant and delish. I loved sitting outside in their lovely backyard and was so impressed that a casual restaurant like this has such high quality, flavorful fare. I highly, enthusiastically recommend Spread, and I can't WAIT to go back. read more

When trying to find a lighter lunch, Greek - Mediterranean food seems to work best. I had the falafel wrap and it was amazing. Complex flavors, spice, and nice portion. I think they have market cornered with in 50 miles? I will bring wife back as she is a big fan of this fare!! You won't be disappointed. read more

My friends and I had the most enjoyable experience on the patio of this top notch barely one-year-old Lebanese restaurant. We asked the chef/owner, Cristina Topham, to bring us what she thought we might like and, man, that was a really great decision! We had a taste of everything they had to offer along with a really unique bottle of wine. Healthy options with exceptional flavors were often accompanied by our chef's comments on the detailed preparation. We were impressed guiltlessly full! Total bill for our party of 4 was about what I typically spend for 2! Plus, we each left with enough leftovers for lunch next day! Bravo, Cristina! It is really hard to impress people in Sonoma. But Spread manages to do that. Staying true to its roots as a Lebanese/Mediterranean kitchen, it takes the best of the region, with fresh veggies and olive oil, and blends it with a practiced hand of Lebanese cooking. How lucky to have such a great find in Sonoma! Located off the HWY just walking distance from the Fairmont Hotel and Spa, is SPREAD. Focused on Middle Eastern eats, this place is such a great spot for lunch and or take out. Today was perfect to enjoy their food in this heat! Everything is light and hearty with freshly prepared local ingredients. Today we ordered the Panzanella Salad, the baba ganoush (a dip that came with crudite, pita and pickled veggies), a wrap (that was loaded with beef shawarma) and a couple of drinks. After ordering at the counter we were given a number and told someone would bring our meal to us, to grab any spot we'd like on the patio. We sat outside under the shady trees and admired some of the cute local art they had adorning the area. Then our server brought out these beautiful plated dishes!! So colorful! Almost too good looking to eat! We enjoyed everything and are looking forward to going back. Would definitely recommend! read more

I went with a friend whose parents were Lebanese, and who helped select our dinner. She particularly liked the baba ganoosh which had the proper smoked flavor and the dirty fries with kofta were excellent. Interestingly, there were no Californian wines on the wine list, so we tried the Lebanese wines which were very good and very reasonably priced. Five stars for food, four stars for ambiance and service. If I could, I'd rate it at 4-1/2 stars. (It's not a "fine dining" experience, but well worth a visit.) read more

Needed a food break from wine tasting in Sonoma and found this delicious farm fresh delicious stop. Great bowls, dips and takeaway items with a dog friendly patio! We had orange blossom lemonade, tumeric chicken bowl with quinoa tabuleh, mjedra, hummus and toum, falafels, kofta dirty fries and the combo dip platter which complimented the glass of Miners pinot rose perfectly ! Did I also mention their baklava is to die for? We've always have had amazing dishes and are always willing to take a risk because we know the chef does an amazing job! read more

I've now been to Spread Kitchen three times in the past few months. It's relatively new to the Sonoma food seen, but definitely welcome. Each visit the food has been fresh and tasty. The different options offered to mix and match in bowls also keep it interesting. This little restaurant is great for eat in or take away. We must have had 4 or 5 different people serving us, no consistency. We received the burgers on a dessert plate with no room for the extra salad and fries we ordered. So we asked for bigger plates. We had to ask for serving spoons for the salad. Then, I mentioned to one of the servers that it was my friend's birthday- not a word from her. Did we want dessert? I thought at least a scoop of ice cream with a candle but no!! We ordered their deconstructed cheesecake which we would share. Had to ask for 3 plates and we were charged for the dessert which was fair I suppose as it was $13. But nothing whatsoever regarding my friend's birthday. 90% of restaurants will always try to celebrate a birthday if they are advised. All of us are locals and this is bad news for Layla's.

Where to begin! I wish I had taken photos of the food before we devoured it, but our appetites and the aromas of the delicious plates got the best of us! Presentation was lovely. We had the falafel wrap, beef shawarma wrap, the dirty fries, homemade pita chips and hummus, stuffed grape leaves, and sweets (sesame brownies and baklava)!! Hands down, super impressed by the flavors. Falafel was dense, crispy, and fresh. Beef was tender and well seasoned. The sauces for both wraps contributed great flavors. Dirty fries were no joke with lots of seasoning, crumbled feta, and pickled red onions. Za'taar pita chips complimented the hummus perfectly. And the brownies!!! I would make a pit stop just for the brownies. Everything was seasoned perfectly. The flavors, quality of the ingredients, and presentation tell you everything is made by hand and with lots of care and attention. We started with a mezze platter featuring three dips: muhammara, baba ganoush, and Beiruti hummus. Each dip tasted fresh and homemade, providing a delightful start to our meal. We visited this restaurant for dinner and sat at their charming back patio. However, as the sun began to set, the temperature dropped, making it chilly. In response, the restaurant showed thoughtfulness by providing portable warmers and blankets to their outdoor diners. The food was equally memorable.
