I did not like my food so I sat waiting while everyone continued to eat. I had to grab another server and explain to her the problem. After I told them I wanted to order something else and to substitute the pork for another protein they brought out my food with bacon! Then the manager came over and was prepared to try to tell me I was wrong for not liking the quiche. I had to professionally explain to her what was wrong. This is the worst service I've ever had in years. I am baffled and I feel disrespected and the fact that this establishment is racist is beyond me. DO NOT waste your money here. However outside tables and bar seating available. We sat outside Keon was our server and was fantastic. He told us the restaurants most popular dishes and we asked what his favorite dishes were. He also let us sample a few of the wines before making our decisions. He recommended personally the The Frito Misto and it was one of the best dishes of that nature I've ever had. We love Sprig and eat here regularly. Our favorite app is the Brussels sprouts. Their Bourbon Mule is always unique and delicious and bourbon flights are both affordable and fun. Be warned, they pack a punch :) The burger & shrimp n grits are delicious. If you aren't the pretentious sort, I think their cinnamon french toast is the best I've had and my go to dish lately. Yummmmy!!! I ordered the Lamb stroganoff dinner for 2 yesterday and the lemon cake. Yeah okay I could see that the online ordering system could be annoying a bit but the food absolutely makes up for it . Had a 7pm reservation. Still not seated at 7:38. Sat numerous table outside which we were not given the option. Waited an additional 5 minutes to speak with the manager who was laughing with guest at the bar and never came to the front; although, the hostess told the manager of our request. I stumbled across its' hidden location & decided to give it a try without reading any reviews/doing research. Despite the delay in the food coming out sometimes due to everything being cooked to order, I have no complaints. Their menu just recently switched to Fall & the options were fabulous. It is a great restaurant and good food that we have been coming for a while. The food and drinks are of high quality and tasty and the service is excellent. One thing bothers me is that they have an ongoing inconsistency of the menus. They bring the one to the table with slightly lower prices for some items, and when you are checking out - some of the prices are higher and when you mention that - a server says that they just recently updated the menu and some menus still have the old price. It has happened several times over several months. They should fix this. read more

Wow! This place had so many gluten free options (90% of the menu is gluten free) and they also were able to explain bourbons and whiskeys that I could drink with my gluten intolerance. I was so happy to have an old fashioned again. My husband and I split the polenta fries as an appetizer. They were amazing! A great crunchy exterior with creamy polenta in the center, and the smoky tomato sauce had an amazing cheese flavor and was an great accompaniment. For my entree I got the short rib dinner. The meat was tender and flavorful and the creamy mashed root veggies balanced out the meal. The interior is cute and homey. This is a great date night spot just a little off the beaten path. I love crossing off restaurants on my list. Sprig has been on my "To Try" list since I moved to Atlanta. We decided to eat here for our anniversary. There was ample amount of parking which is a huge plus. We made reservations for a Thursday night so there was no wait whatsoever. The restaurant is so cute. It's has an industrial/farmhouse look to it. We ordered fried green tomatoes, grit fries, lamb stroganoff, and the world famous Sprig cab burger. The appetizers came out fairly fast, and the tomatoes and grit fries were piping hot. Hubster loved the fried green tomatoes; they were crispy on the outside and the tomatoes were nice and juicy inside. The grit fries were the star for me. They were like french fries but with cheese grits, crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle! The tomato soup like dipping sauce only made them all the better. It's been a couple of weeks and I'm still longing for more. We pretty much filled up on the appetizers because by the time the entrees arrived we were already full. The sprig burger was meaty and fresh. The bacon jam was a really nice touch. There were fried pickles on top, which I gave to hubster. He said they were ok. The pimento cheese on top made the burger complete. I only managed to eat half of it and wrap the rest to go home. The fries that came with it were average, a little bigger than shoe strings. The lamb stroganoff was buttery and rich, and there were so many vegetables in the sauce that made the dish so flavorful. It taste better the next day, since we only managed to finish half of it off. I needed a brunch spot that took reservations and had easy, sloe parking for a group gathering. It seemed like Sprig fit the bill. It was surprisingly not that easy to find options! I was the first to arrive and they were all ready for us. They had us in a secluded, blocked off area in the front of the restaurant. It was quite nice! They have bottomless mimosas during brunch and I started that up before my friends arrived. For my meal, I ordered the chicken and waffle. You will see from the pic that it is a flatten chicken portion. Not what any of us were expecting. But it tasted quite good actually. I liked the chicken better than I did the waffle. The waffle didn't have much flavor and it was definitely OK with leaving some on the plate. Overall, the group was happy with their meals. The waitress was Johnny on the spot, very attentive and bringing out the mimosas quickly so that we could get enough in before they had to shut it down. Almost everything on their menu is GLUTEN FREE which is a plus when needed. Highly recommend this spot - and if you're looking for a super cool spot for a drink before or after- check out their adjacent speakeasy! You enter through a hidden passageway and once you get in it's the coolest space with fantastic craft cocktails and the usual options. This place knows their bourbon!! For a restaurant in a strip mall, this restaurant provided exactly what I thought it would. Average food, decent drinks, and service that neither wowed nor frustrated. I visited Sprig on a recommendation from a local resident. With some trepidation, we decided to try it out. I like a good Manhattan, and since this was a bourbon bar, I went for it. We were able to get a last minute reservation on a Friday night, and hurried over to get some food. My $12 Manhattan (with bulleit) was decent. They served it with the standard Manhattan cherries so I was happy about that. But the wait to get it and the strength of the drink itself didn't hit the spot. Given that I visited with two people who were not from the south, we decided to try the pimento cheese and the trout dip. I was pleasantly surprised by how light and creamy the dip was. Flavor-wise? Also decent. The pimento cheese was interesting because it was served with some kind of preserves on top (warm bacon jam). I can't decide how I felt about it, and would have appreciated it more if the sweet topping was served on the side. That way, I could opt to eat the dip without it. I ordered the quinoa salad and added shrimp. From the description, I was anticipating a salad with mostly quinoa, some greens, and other veggies. Instead, I got a salad, a sprinkling of quinoa, and other veggies. The shrimp were almost tough, and tasted chargrilled (read: a little too burnt for me). My mouth wasn't a fan but I paid the $6 upcharge so I was going to eat them. The salad dressing was light, almost non-existent so I had to request a side of the dressing. It added a little flavor. While the salad was healthy, I was hoping for a largely quinoa entree. That's not what i got so I was a little disappointed. One of my colleagues ordered the crawfish mac and cheese. We were both anticipating something creamy and cheesy with large chunks of crawfish in it. Instead, the macaroni was swimming in a sea of cheese sauce. From what he said, it needed salt and pepper. I opted not to taste it because it didn't look appetizing to me. Overall, this is not a place I would go out of my way to try again. Sprig is a great neighborhood restaurant. If I could walk there, I would definitely be a regular. I love their philosophy, the attention to detail in their ingredients, and the warm and welcoming staff, especially Mark and Tony. Attending a private event recently, my husband and I arrived early. The folks at Sprig were happy to accommodate us at the bar while the kitchen finished their preparations. Mark, our bartender extraordinaire, mixed up several of the specialty drinks on the menu. We tried the Nectarita, an excellent version of the traditional margarita, made with Plata tequila, muddled fresh limes, agave nectar, orange juice, and Patron Citronge. Also hitting the spot was Rosie's Red Slippers, a refreshing concoction of #209 gin, St. Germain, muddled fresh grapefruit and rosemary. Light bites were provided throughout the evening, and the big hits were the pimento cheese, smoked trout dip, and pork rillettes. Also on hand was fresh gluten free bread from Pure Knead bakery. Since I have a gluten allergy, it was a treat to be able to enjoy the various dips on this delicious bread. Sprig denotes all GF items on their menu, and will work with anyone having allergies to ensure they have a safe and delicious experience. I am looking forward to a return visit very soon so that I can enjoy a real sit down dinner with family and friends. But if you live in the Oak Grove area, be sure to check this place out. I'm glad I finally got to take a meal here. We went to celebrate a friend's birthday. It was late on a Saturday, but that did not stop Sprig from taking really good care of a big table-full of us. I enjoyed the experience. Our server handily took care of business. Mixed drinks and wine arrived quickly. Food was also not long in the kitchen, hitting the table while everything was still hot and fresh. The fried pickles are a hit! (And the fried green tomatoes, too.) Next time, I will delve hard into the Pimiento Cheese. I had a burger. (I wasn't that enamored of the burger. It was overdone and salty.) I know, I know. I should have listened to my instincts and tried the lamb stroganoff. (Even though my friend did not like it.) Or maybe the veggie plate. And the flourless cake-thing we shared for dessert deserved its own quick moment of silence. Sprig has a good, homemade feel to it. It's just a little more dressed-up than casual. This little gem is tucked away in the corner of a shopping center on La Vista. The chicken and biscuits (brunch) is amazing. Fried chicken thighs tender enough to cut with a fork, mushroom tarragon gravy that will make you want to lick he plate and a super soft biscuit. Put an over-easy egg on top and you have perfection. I'm going to start my review with Sprig's AMAZING bacon jam which came with my World Famous Sprig's certified angus beef burger. The bacon jam is a must-- if whatever you're ordering doesn't come with the bacon jam, ask for it on the side. You don't want to miss out, it's that good. The service was outstanding even during the busy lunch time. We had a party of 8 and I suggest rsvp if you have a large party. There is plenty of parking in the plaza. Back to the entree. The world famous burger was recommended by our server and I absolutely loved it. The patty was thick and juicy, and the bacon jam added even more juiciness to the burger. The side fries were ok: too soggy. Next time I'd go with their coleslaw or potato salad, instead. Others got Grouper Tacos, Chicken Salad Sandwich and Roasted Turkey Club Sandwich, and all looked very fresh and delicious!
