This is one of the best Spring Creek restaurants in DFW. Food is warm, the seating area is clean and their fans circulate the air well and the air con keeps you cool. There is not a lingering smell here unlike other locations. We had BBQ ribs and one serving had ribs that was almost but not burnt and another was just right. Okay, maybe I'm being a little too harsh here, comparing Spring Creek BBQ to what it used to be. I was an SCBBQ kid, so when I returned to town I was expected to be hit with the nostalgia of some good BBQ and southern hospitality. However, the service and food are not as I remember. There was no greeting or direction upon entrance, and we had to stand around awkwardly and ask to be serviced at the tray station while employees joked and chatted amongst themselves. I recall the serving sizes being much bigger, and pricing being more reasonable for the food we got. The ribs were quite dry, utensils could be cleaner, and staff pretty unhelpful. In addition, I believe Pre-Covid policy also allowed mutiple refills on sides, or at least the ability to scoop your own sides and the amount that you want. And, sure, you can claim that all restaurants are inflating prices, because of Covid-19, but it is now Post-Covid and 2023. On top of all of this, the rolls are generally supposed to be unlimited and offered to us, but on a slow lunch day, our booths were dirty and we were only visited once by our bread girl who came over with only two bread rolls in her basket, and actually spoke no words at all, just stared at us from the table, until we understood what was happening. As someone who has worked food industry as both back of house and as a server, I understand discomfort and bad days, but as a guest, it was uncomfortable. As an ex SCBBQ kid, I'm sorry to say that I'm not sure if I'll be an SCBBQ adult. :(( read more

This was the first time that I came to Spring Creek Barbeque. My boyfriend's family comes here often and are huge fans, so I'm not sure why I had a less than excellent experience. We came Sunday night, so we expected it to be crowded, but I felt like I was in a different country how hectic and chaotic it is. I ordered the two meat plate and got brisket and sausage. I did enjoy that I could get as much of the two sides as I wanted. I chose the green beans and mac and cheese, but they also had other options like baked potatoes, corn, potato salad, and pinto beans. Overall, it was a large amount of food for a very good price ($14.55 for dinner), but the food did not taste as good as it looked. It was good and fresh but pretty bland compared to other BBQ restaurants in the area. After paying and getting our drinks, every single table was taken. My boyfriend, boyfriend's family, and I were standing with our trays with food and drinks just looking for somewhere to sit before our food got cold. Finally, someone noticed, and they said that the party room was now open. A large party just finished, so the room was very messy and dirty, but at least it was somewhere to sit. All 4 of us ate our food and no one came around with the bread basket. I know I'm being super picky, but I feel like if you see new customers just starting to eat, it would be a good idea to offer bread instead of standing around talking to your friend at the counter. My boyfriend's mom is the most patient woman I have ever met, so when she got annoyed I knew I wasn't in the wrong. She was so annoyed that she even got up and found the bread girl to say that we haven't been helped yet. The girl was very awkward and flustered, and she dropped my boyfriend's bread on the table, instead of his empty plate. She then took the tongs, picked it up off the table and then put it on his plate. I'm sorry, but I'm kind of a germaphobe, and found that very disgusting. She was nice to me though and gave me two rolls, both of which was delicious and melted in your mouth. Next time, I need to go at a different time because I couldn't even enjoy dinner with the amount of people in there. I brought my two kids here for dinner and the food was very good. I had the Carolina BBQ, my daughter had the ribs, and my picky 5 year old son just ate some beans and rolls. As someone who recently relocated here from North Carolina, I can tell you that the Carolina BBQ is pretty accurate to the BBQ I'm used to back home. I was able to try my daughter's ribs and they were great too, fell right off of the bone (yumm). As for the staff, the guy at the meat counter wasn't very friendly, and the girl at the check out wasn't friendly either. However, the people who came around and offered us hot rolls were very friendly and welcoming. The only two complaints I have are #1 our table wasn't very clean when we sat down, there was a sticky substance all over the table. #2 a girl was cleaning the floor and the floor mats and she stacked the dirty things up one by one on the booth next to us as she swept the floors. Each time she stacked a floor mat on the table she smacked it down. I was a little grossed out as we sat there eating thinking particles from the floor were going to end up floating into our food, so I rushed my kids to hurry and finish eating so we could leave. Needless to say, it was only 7:45pm and they were already cleaning up and breaking everything down, which also made me feel rushed to eat and leave. I used to come by a lot as a child with my family when I lived in Plano area. They always had those BOGO coupons that my parents would use. I've always liked coming here because sides and dinner rolls were self-serve and free to refill. The portions are HUGE and we always took some home with us and got a second meal out of it. I like the ribs - despite the amount of bones there is a lot of meat and super tender. The rub they use is really aromatic and tasty and the ribs are never too fatty. I think their sausage and brisket are a bit salty but pretty standard for any BBQ. They looked high school girls wearing very short skirts and welcoming us with their hearts as if we were the members of their families. And I saw some pictures on the wall told who the most valuable staff has been. The buffet style dinner. Everything is on the house after paying meats. They have the station and we can choose whatever we want like Mac and cheese, coleslaw, sweet corns, pickled peppers and cucumbers, and hot rolls. I'd like the way they give us the hot rolls coming out from the oven and cute little pretty staffs going around the tables, asking how many rolls we want and give them generously and endlessly. I have lunch here about once a week with my mom who also works nearby. I usually get a 1/4lb brisket and fried okra (fresh and sooooo good) or the lunch special with a meat and a baked potato. Mom gets chicken breast or brisket and a side salad. The salad is more than just lettuce in a bowl and it's fresh made. I am not a huge fan of the Homestyle Sides, but it's not that they are bad, just not my preference. Rolls from the chopping station can be a little dry, but the rolls that those lovely ladies crank out are hot, fresh, buttery and kind of almost 'fried' on the bottom. If every BBQ restaurant in Texas went out of business except this place, I would just stop eating BBQ rather than come here again. All of the employees here seemed to be 14 years old. Since I've never been here before, after I ordered the entree, I didn't know what I was supposed to do next, so I just stood there and waited for someone to help me. The employees seemed to all have tunnel vision and ignored me while a long line of annoyed people backed up behind me. After a few minutes and realizing that nobody here would help me, I just went to the front and paid, then asked how I was supposed to get my sides. I learned that I was supposed to get the sides myself, out of a bunch of unlabeled buckets, and with no containers to put the sides in, and that the employees behind the counter weren't actually there to help the customers. I ordered the beef and sausage plate. The sausage was boiled and mushy instead of being grilled properly. Why a BBQ restaurant would boil ANYTHING is beyond me. The brisket was also a failure. Half of it was burnt, half of it was not burnt but very dry, and maybe one piece was cooked properly. The beans were inedible. The greens tasted like they were from a can, overcooked all day, and then had a bunch of pepper and bacon thrown in to cover it up. For whatever reason, the BBQ sauce is only available at the middle of the ordering line, and has to be carefully poured into one-ounce plastic containers. If you run out, you have to get back on line to get more. Assinine. The iced tea in the ordering line was empty so I had to get it from some other drink station. There was an ice bucket of sorts that had the ice scoop sitting inside the ice. This is a health code violation for obvious reasons, so I just had hot iced tea with my food.
