Awesome experience. Noodles, beef skewers, and lamb skewers. The food was amazing. The skewers are definitely cooked over some type of coal in the back which gives it a smoky charred flavor you don't usually get on bbq outside of Asia. Definitely reminded me of the bbq in Pakistan. The noodles were my favorite part and the reason I'm itching to go back. The simple umami flavor takes this dish far and I would say it needs nothing more and nothing less. You don't go here for the service, but you do go here for the great food and the ambiance. It seems as though they have a karaoke stage but I don't went during the week so I did not get to see it in action, hopefully I will when I return. I love yeon-Gil! I've been here about 4x and they've never disappointed. They've recently revamped the menu and the decor, it has more of a lounge vibe now. I love that they stay open real late because most restaurants in this area close at 10. I always try something new every time, my favorites were the clams which were stuffed and the whole spicy fish, the eggplant was good too. The entrees are huge so you'll have plenty of leftovers to last for a few days lol. All the dishes are packed with flavor, you can't go wrong with anything. After seeing all the hype on social media about this place, my friends and I decided to drop by after our escape room. There weren't that many things on the menu besides skewers and some seafood dishes. You order everything via the QR code printed on the menu, and everyone at the table shares the same cart. I thought you could split it at the end when paying like this other restaurant I frequented, but nope. Food didn't take long to come out, but there were only 3 tables around midnight. The skewers are cooked in the back, and they put this small heating unit to keep the skewers warm at the table. Since it was a large party, we didn't know which skewers are which and the servers didn't do a good job of explaining. They just drop the skewers off and then walk away. I had to ask them to tell me which one is which so we don't grab the wrong thing. Skewers are very small yet they cost $4 each??? I never had a good experience with skewer restaurants (besides one), and this is the same. The house special skewers are a little bigger than the other 3 skewers pack but still expensive. The seasoning is okay, nothing special. The only thing I liked was the intestine skewers, but not worth for me to visit again. I ordered a watermelon soju for the group to drink, which was not to my standard. I'm unsure if they put any soju in the watermelon because nobody felt anything. Other places I've been to was much stronger, so I was a little disappointed in that, especially since it was $35. Overall, this place was a disappointment. If it was busy when we came, then I would be more understanding of the service given. However, we were the last group to leave. Also, they said that we ordered some fried buns for $9, but nobody in the group clicked any button so I'm not sure where they got that. AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN BRING THE ITEM OUT!! Unfortunately, less than stellar night here. Food was, while tasty, too salty. Probably would be perfect if mixed with a liberal pouring of beer to avoid beer induced hyponatremia. But if you will not be drinking to your hearts content, be prepared for a salty night. If you are looking for a place to converse and eat with friends, I do not recommend eating here late night when they have karaoke going on... by intoxicated people. It's entirely way too loud and my table of 7 went on a night where the singing was atrocious so it was difficult for us to really enjoy the food. If you do happen to go and want to risk your ear drums popping, I do recommend the lamb skewers; YEON-GIL SPECIAL LAMB and HOUSE LAMB - along with the LAMB RACK which were all delicious and flavorful. Other skewers that were tasty were the TAIWANESE SAUSAGE and HOUSE BEEF TENDON. Sadly the PORK BELLY skewer was my least favorite due to lack of flavor. If you're a veggie person, you have to try their ENOKI MUSHROOMS and if you're a garlic person, try their EGGPLANT which is drenched in it. If you're going with a huge party, just keep in mind you put orders through the QR code on your phone so everyone at the table can put their orders in and it all gets put on the same bill. Wow. wow. wow. This is an interesting dinner spot for sure! From the outside, you would never know the excitement that's going on inside... First of all, we were here for the skewers and man they did not disappoint. We loved that we could scan QR code and put in our order ourselves. We ordered the cauliflower, tendon, and pork belly skewers. Even though we typed non-spicy in the comment section, they still all come out with a little spicy seasoning. Super cool vibe with a straight up karoke machine and big screen at the front if you want to sing in front of random strangers haha. Currently its byob because they said they don't have their liqour license yet so bring your favorite sojus, beers, liqours and enjoy it with their food you can buy. I actually don't mind byob esp since this is literally right near 99 ranch where you can go buy your beers and sojus or go find a near liqour store like specs or total wine and bring it over. Also seems like a great spot to have a mini party or get together with some friends. If you're wanting to get together to eat and have a couple of drinks with your friends in the Frisco area, this is definitely one of places I'd recommend although my friends and I wasn't interested in their drinks. Not only the food wasn't so not bad but the portion sizes were good and the atmosphere, live (karaoke) singing, is a plus. Not sure if it will be up for the public to sign up and sing and if they have other karaoke language options. The portions size are pretty good for its price. Service for us was basically just the waiters coming around to ask for water refill a few times. Again, we didn't have any drinks. The only down side is the sauces seem to be the same. Such as the octopus dish and the clam dish with noodles. My personal favorite was the jellyfish in vinegar. I was amazed at how much jellyfish was in it. It was also, the most different so I was able to go back to it to change my palettes and continue to eat the other stuff. If you've never had jellyfish before, it's a crunchy texture. Not at all slimy. The oysters in garlic was good as well. Warning- it's about a level 4 spicy if you do eat the chili on top. The crab dish also had plenty of crabs in it. Probably a good 3 whole crabs. Be prepare to get your fingers dirty! Wish they would have gave us crackers (we didn't ask since we had so much food) or kinda cracked the claws for us. The frog legs with tofu in pot was ok. Again the seasoning seemed repetitive. The tofu was too thick and didn't soak up any flavors. We (3 of us ladies, not just me) didn't like the enoki mushrooms. The flavor/seasoning just did not do it for us. And I love mushrooms The skewers that we had were ok. More flavorful and plentiful than expected. Came here with friends to try out this new restaurant. We ordered many items. The cucumber salad, mala beef pot, the beef noodle soup, crawfish and various different skewers. In the skewers, I found the flavor of cumin overwhelming. Especially on the corn, there was a strong flavor of uncooked cumin which made it inedible. Out of the beef, lamb, chicken, and cauliflower skewers, the cauliflower was my favorite. For the seafood boil, I would like if they could clarify that there is a 2lb minimum for any flavor. I wanted to order shrimp and crawfish in various flavors, but because of the restriction, we were only able to try one flavor. The crawfish tasted very good after the sauce had settled down. I enjoyed the woodear mushroom in the mala pot and the noodle soup was refreshing. While I have mixed feelings about the food, the service here could be worked on. We waited for 15 minutes after we were seated until I asked a worker for our server. Throughout the meal we had to constantly ask for our cups to be refilled or to order more food. Delicious food and great atmosphere, what's not to like? I decided to give this place a try after all the hype, and the experience did not disappoint! We ordered many of the skewers off the menu, the specialty skewers were great and definitely larger than the average meat skewers you get at other place. We also got the grilled fish ($45) and the portion was bigger than we expected! Taste was delicious. Nonexistent customer service from the time we were seated and differently unenthusiastic about us being there to dine. You could tell by crowd compared to other restaurants in area there wasn't a crowd for Friday night. Food was flat with very little flavor but very spicy and not informed when we order. We really couldn't distinguish or get a flavor from what we were eating. For $80 for two not worth it. No one ever came to table to ask about how we liked our food. Came here to celebrate my birthday with friends and had a fantastic time. There was no crowd on a Sunday evening which was great and we were able to be ourselves and hear each other well. Even though there was no crowd, the service was still lacking. There was only one girl running the place with a few tables but our beer orders came out slow. It was nice that we could order from our phones and it combines what each of us ordered into one check. Unfortunately we can't choose the items to pay and only split evenly amongst ourselves. For the food, The kebabs were fantastic! Definitely get their beef special, pork belly, Taiwanese sausage, and squid kebabs. Amazing flavors and seasoning. It's not much per order and it does add up so prepare to spend a lot. It's nice that they sit on a candle lit container that keeps the kebabs warm. We ordered potato fried rice to eat with the kebabs and they complimented each other very well. I also tried the garlic oysters and they were fantastic. Another dish we ordered were rice cakes that were covered in some tomato sauce which was different. We didn't finish it because it wasn't that good and the texture was off. We also shared an alcoholic drink that's serve in a watermelon. It tasted pretty strong and was a good amount but it would've been nice if it had actual pieces of watermelon in it like other places. Dropped by for dinner a few months ago to try this place out when a friend was in town and we quite enjoyed the experience! The interior is very cool, which makes sense when you consider that it turns into a bar in the later hours of the day. The skewers here are a little pricier than similar places in the area like Fat Ni, but I enjoyed trying some of the different offerings on the menu. I would avoid the lamb skewers, which is not something I usually say about a skewer place and knocked off a star since that's usually my favorite, but here it was honestly a bit tough and dry; surprisingly, the chicken was actually super juicy and flavorful. The sausage was quite tasty and you can never go wrong with enoki mushroom and fish tofu. Drinks were also great! I should have taken pictures but the food took so long to come out I forgot to. I ordered 4 dishes: the three that arrived were Spicy Clams, Taiwanese Sausage, & House Beef Tendon. Spicy clams: lots of broken shells and sand in it. I cut myself and thought I cracked a tooth with all the tiny shells embed in it Taiwanese sausage: delicious, sweet, & Smoky House beef tendon: great chewy texture but disgusting taste of propane. I don't plan to ever come back because we kept being the last ones to get food and in the end, some of our dishes never came out. We gave up and paid after waiting an hour for the food. read more

One dish I enjoyed was the fried noodles. Sweet and had eggs too. I would suggest that the restaurant tone down on the spice for the spicy dishes. It was even spicy for my in-laws who are Chinese! Also, the eggplant dish was soooo garlicky. I couldn't finish my bite of eggplant because it was soaked in a thick garlic sauce. Also, it comes as a whole flattened eggplant. It's all good and fun until the restaurant doesn't provide/have a knife for us to share and cut it. Full of Chinese patrons the menu is predominantly in Chinese with English translation. Friendly staff who speak English. We waited a long time for our meal so I can't say this was a five-star experience. And the food was not overwhelming with much of it it seemed to me seasoned very similarly. Nonetheless I assume it's quite authentic because it was very unusual cuisine to me. We had the skewer combo which was fried and included green beans, a variety of sausage, chicken and other things. All very unusual and we were so hungry that we really enjoyed them. We also ordered chicken wings which were six extremely small wings for $12. I can't recommend the wings although they were seasoned OK. I remember the days when it was hard to find anything but American food in the Dallas area. Those days are long gone I'm glad to say and this location is certainly proof of that. If you're looking for something different I definitely would recommend this although, like they say about Chinese food, I did leave hungry! I should add we ordered fried rice and it was quite tasty but it wouldn't hold together and so I was almost impossible to eat with chopsticks. Came on a Friday night and enjoyed some asian music and heard live karaoke singing which made the place very lively every time there was live music. The restaurant is quite nice, perfect place for a date. Very airy and open. We ordered the seafood fried rice- not like other asian restaurants. It had crunchy fish pieces- not my cup of tea, but the fried rice part was exactly the kind I liked (not the soy sauce kind) so I just picked out the fish and ate separately. We also ordered the sautéed pea shoots- on the salty side- but I love it! The lamb and beef skewers were really delicious as well, but spicy. I enjoyed the ambience, displays, decorations, and lighting of the restaurant. The place has a late night club/bar feeling. You order with your phone and pay with a check that a cashier brings out after you check out on your phone. Although the place can be somewhat pricey (depending on your orders), my girlfriend and I really think it was worth checking out. The skewers and corn were tender and seasoned well with a hint of spice as well. Although the osmanthus tea was initially sugary at first, it complemented the spice of the mala spicy seafood soup which it made us taste more of the tea in it. The fish in the soup was soft and had a nice mild-medium spice to it. The oysters were $18 and small, but we did enjoy the garlic seasoning of the dish (probably won't get it again because of the size vs. price). We also got the spicy beef soup which tasted more herbal and has numbing spice but we did not enjoy it as much. They do have a small wooden box with a grill and foil over it to keep the skewers warm with tea candles underneath. The staff were friendly and attentive.
