I ordered 2 chopped beef twosomes with baked potatoes to go. I get home and realize that the potatoes are hard and hardly had any toppings in them. No exaggeration when I tell you they might have had 3 bits of bacon. I called and spoke to Blake the manager to let him know and he apologized and told me he would speak to his staff. I think this place is pretty underrated. I've gotten takeout twice in the past couple of months and everything was fantastic. The brisket was super tender and the bbq sauce is amazing. I have been eating at Spring Creek Barbeque on 1960E in Atascocita for the last 9 years or so. The food is good and it is convenient to me. Before Christmas they ran a special, buy 25.00 gift card and get a 5.00 free. Great I thought. Bought one. After Christmas I used the 5.00 gift card. Then 2 weeks later I went back to use the 25.00 card. I was told by the cashier that the card was blank. I talked to the manager and he said he would report to corporate office and they would call me. When I got home I emailed corporate office to explain what had happened. No one ever called or emailed me back. Typical. I like this restaurant but will never go back now that I was cheated out of 25.00 and no one in this business even cared enough to call or email me. Food here is good. Turkey and chicken are always moist. The ribs are my favorite because the meat is moist and falls off the bone.. The stuffed potato is huge. I personally like the BBQ sauce. We had dinner at Spring Creek Barbeque this evening. I ordered the ribs and was not impressed with the amount of meat on each rib. This was not typical of past experiences. Overall the meal was good. Spring creek Barbeque has some of the best macaroni and cheese. Fresh hot bread was abundant. We have eaten here before the the food was ok. Today, we went in and should have known with heat lamps on and the meat covered with butcher paper that it would be dried out. I got a bbq plate with sides. The food was terrible. The meat was very dry and you could tell it had been sitting out for some time. The beans tasted like a can of beans with some sauce cooked into them for their flavor. Will not be eating here again. The employees were very nice but sadly that does not compensate for bad food. I eat at the Atascocita location. I am never disappointed with the brisket and the fresh rolls they bring around the table. They have lean and fatty brisket, and both are delicious, but I will usually go for the fattier cut. But I'm not crazy about any of their side dishes - although they look good they are not as tasty as I've had at other BBQ establishments. I had the ribs once and they were good too. I went back up to get a container for our leftovers and pointed to a small one. There is no excuse. One of my family members recently had gastric bypass surgery. She is married with two kids and like many goes out to eat. Her Dr. gave her a card that states she has had the surgery and is eligible for Children's or senior meals as she can't even eat that much. So she ordered a children's meal ate half as usual and Spring Creek charged her for an adult meal. Guess they don't want families there of people that have had this type of surgery. Two years ago I highly recommended this location and do now more than ever! These people know how to cook brisket and serve the best sides on the planet. I travel 24 miles one way to go to this location because they are worth it and the food is outstanding. It doesn't get better than this. Hint: Head up there for the lunch special during the week.
