Seeing as I'm a vegetarian, this is not my restaurant of choice. That said, I can still find something to eat here. You can get salads with no meat or baked potatoes without the fixins if you're a non meat eater. They look at me funny, but I'm kind of funny looking, so I won't hold it against them. For meat eaters, they have lots of good stuff. Most of my coworkers enjoy the ribs and brisket. The loaded baked potatoes are also a favorite. My hubby is not a huge fan and prefers Goode Co. But since Goode Co. is all the way in the city, I can understand why a lot of people come here. They have a nice side room that they let us use for our annual Christmas lunch. read more

I used to love coming to this restaurant but it has changed so much - and not for the better. I could forgive the fact that prices of their plates have significantly increased while simultaneously decreasing the amount of food you get (no more unlimited sides... former reason for going in the first place); but I won't forgive rude service. The children working behind the counter wouldn't know proper etiquette if it was staring them in the face. Spring Creek needs to send their employees to Chic-Fil-A for training. The restaurant was barely half full but we had trouble getting a table because the other half had not been cleaned off and most of the tables sat dirty till my party had finished eating. Looking at the receipt of my overpriced mediocre meal as I walked out I quickly came to the realization that this was my last trip to Spring Creek. There's a lot of restaurants struggling during the aftermath of this pandemic that actually appreciate their customers and continue to provide quality food and service and those are the ones I will support. read more

After living in the area for two years, we finally got around to trying Spring Creek Barbeque. I didn't realize before entering that it's kind of cafeteria style, and other than a quick learning curve when trying to figure out what my options were and how to complete a meal, it was overall a pleasant experience. The food was good. The chicken was very tasty and better than the bland brisket. The salads are a really great size for a meal. The bread was nice, the side order of fries is huge, and the sausage was good but tasted like the smoked sausage you get at the grocery store (point being, nothing unique). We went at a time where the ice cream was free, and that was great! Whatever they used to clean the tables smelled funky. Maybe it was a musky rag? Or the cleaning solution. I'm not sure. Finished the sandwich well in advance of getting the fries. No apologies except excuses. They refunded the fries but I'm a bit surprised the manager didn't offer total refund or next time comp! We ordered through door dash and the delivery was super fast...big issue is the missing items, which would not have been a big deal if David, the guy who spoke with my husband and I, stated very rudely (and not rudely like "awww you hurt my feelings) more like rudely as in, he hung up abruptly rude when my husband asked an honest and sincere question. So in order for me to get to the question my husband asked. First...we ordered the family order of brisket, sausages, Mac and cheese, beans, potato salad, and the best part...PEACH COBBLER. Now...I know there are small businesses trying to make their money right now because we are in a crisis...major crisis. But you definitely cannot expect your business to flourish with David's attitude. So our peach cobbler was missing so my husband asked about it...he had called the guy who brought us our food from door dash and he even called door dash already, but doordash isn't taking phone calls right now due to the overwhelming amount of calls because of the world crisis. So my husband decided to call the store, because I mean...people want their business to flourish so you would think they would be nice. So he called and spoke with David, and asked about the two missing peach cobblers and David said that they forgot to put it in our bags and left it on the counter and once they realized this...they sold it to another customer instead of informing the dasher with our food or anything. So David told my husband, "just come in here and we can get you those peach cobblers "bud". Bud? Okay...whatever. So my husband asked a very good question because honestly ANYBODY can come in there and say, "hey, I ordered peach cobblers from door dash and didn't get them, but I was told all I have to do is come in here and ask for them and I will get them for free." Yea...so what if David is not in the store that day and another employee has no idea what my husband is talking about and thinks he is lying? Not worth the risk so my husband basically asked what kind of proof can he get so it's true that he can go in there and just ask for the peach cobblers. This man, not even a man honestly...just a being because he couldn't even be respectful enough to be straight up with the answer, rudely answered and said, "ya know what, I have customers" and hung up. Ladies and gentleman...that is not how you do business. He needs training again, I don't care if he is the owner, he isn't ever getting our business again. Not even worth 1 star. I'm new to Texas and this place was my first BBQ experience since my arrival. Went there for the 4th of July and the staff was super friendly and very chipper even though they were working that day. The food is phenomenal and you get unlimited sides. The best part is the smell of the freshly baked bread which they walk around and offer every few minutes for free. I've been trying to go there at least once per week since because I am hooked. The last time I went they walked around handing everyone a free cup of Blue Bell vanilla ice cream... as if I couldn't love the place ever more! read more

We've been going here a long time. Something Changed! Seemed like family members working together there the last time and they just seemed unhappy and grumpy which made for strange vibes. This visit they actually took a portion of meat OFF OF MY PLATE AFTER PUTTING IT ON MY PLATE! We try to go to Pappas BBQ now instead. For the kingwood area, there is no other place to go. Last couple of times, we have had to send food back. terrible potato and more fat than meat brisket, when lean was ordered. the rolls of course are wonderful. I knew that coming to Texas we would have to try some real BBQ at some point. So i was very excited to come check this place out. I ordered the ribs and got the sauce on top. The second i put a rib in my mouth ( TRAGIC) i knew it was a mistake. It wasn't like anything i had tasted, sweet, but not a good way, and greasy. I love BBQ. I came here really hungry-which was a mistake. The Facts-The meat here is barely ok. The joint is clean and is set up well if you like Texas kitsch. I was really surprised that for a $12 combo meat plate you get about 1/3 lb. of meat(had beef and turkey-some ok brisket and some dry and chewy-and a smoked store bought over salted turkey breast that seemed like it was a Jennie-O pressed turkey roll that was put on the smoker for an hour or so), and all the barely- mediocre sides I can eat. Just okay beans-over cooked green beans-soggy over sauced mac n cheese-crappy corn on the cob- decent cole slaw(their best side) and some h-e-b packaged potato salad. I went back for more sides to feel full since the amount of meat was lacking, but had to cut in line and reuse my plate or else I would have waited in the line for those who hadn't ordered yet. The sides should be in another area away from the meat and cashier to keep things moving. They should have had extra clean plates to use. They do give you plenty of free rolls(filler) which were good- but the sign on the door said BBQ not Bakery. I have eaten BBQ at over 70 different restaurants across the country and this was in the bottom for meat flavor and for everything else. The other thing is the ultra annoying staff behind the counter with the chorus of lingo that got really loud and repetitive. I do not want to hear the staff over my wife or friends -very very very loud and annoying. People who think that this place is good and give it a great review are not educated in good food let alone good BBQ. I feel sorry for them. I will not be back. read more

I must start by saying that the unlimited sides are a nice idea for a BBQ spot. Now on to the food, the pulled pork that we got was not good at all, it had a vinegar taste that was over powering. I figured to put the barbecue sauce on the meat but that was a mistake, the sauce was runny and sweet. The sides were all subpar for a BBQ restaurant, the quality is equal to something that you would get from a school cafeteria. On first occasion, the cockroach was in the ordering line, we alerted the guys behind the line and they said "oh someone will come and get it". A guy then stepped on it and swept it up. No one was shocked. We even asked the cash register girl if they had a roach problem because the way the guys responded made it seem like it was a common occurrence. She apologized on their behalf and said she would talk with management. We should've known then that this place had a roach infestation but gave it another chance. Literally a week and a half later on our next visit back, there was a roach in the dining area. Team member was alerted and did nothing, just looked at it. We sent a letter to the area manager because there seemed to be no manager in the restaurant at either time. The owner of this location should be appalled. read more

Cashiers were so rude. I asked for a top for my to-go cup and she sauntered over to me, chewing gum, and gave me the top without a word. When I placed my order with the other cashier, I asked if they could chop up the salad and she said, "what kind of meat do you want?" No comment about my request (and no, it wasn't chopped). I asked for brisket and got brisket and sausage, which I definitely did not want. I paid and turned to leave but really felt irritated at these girls. Ugh. Horrible food. I went in on a Friday around 1:00 pm and maybe 3 tables had customers. Now I know why. I walked up to a counter that said "To Go Orders". It was a bit confusing as there was no menu board or menus that I could see. I asked about a menu & the cashier handed me a torn off sheet from a pack of menus. They were not visible to the customer which was a bit of an inconvenience. On to the reason I was there: food. I had a chopped beef sandwich which was average. It, like the rest of my food, lacked seasoning. The meat was a bit fattier then I like & the sauce bland. You are offered two sides which I chose potato salad & green beans. Absolutely terrible food. The potato salad was as if they took mashed potatoes, threw in a lot of mustard & a few chunks of vegetables. So incredibly flavorless but, compared to the green beans it was gourmet. The beans were swimming in water, no seasonings, nothing to enhance the flavor. It was incredibly unappetizing just to look at. I rarely eat green beans at restaurants but when I have, especially at a bbq joint, a little bacon & bacon grease is the way they come. I paid cash and when I got my change back, the cashier handed me coins, bills & receipt all mixed together which made it a bit challenging to put all away. Wife got the Carolina Pulled Pork dinner....we are from South Carolina, and this is an ok attempt at bbq from back home. Her sides were Mac & Cheese, Potato Salad. Both were decent, but the portions were very small. I got the Baked Potato "all the way" and I asked for some Jalapeno cut up on top, and one of the girls at the to go counter hooked me up. I enjoyed the tater, and if you are in a rush I recommend Spring Creek. But, if you have the time....go down the road to Tin Roof, sit down inside and enjoy some excellent TX BBQ. read more

I have to qualify this by saying I'm not a BBQ person. I just don't like meat that much, so this may have skewed my review a tad ;) Even so, DH ordered the ribs and while they weren't the best he's ever had, they were pretty decent. The sauce was nothing special though. I had a turkey sandwich basket and it was very good. The store bought rolls were a disappointment, especially since they hand out those really yummy hot dinner rolls at the tables- that would have made it *Awesome* but oh well. Such is life for a non-red meat eater like me ;) The french fries were awesome. I'm not sure what they fry them in, or if I want to know, but they were super hot and crispy and perfect. The service was great, everyone was exceedingly friendly, the restaurant was very clean. Even though I'm not a big BBQ person, DH is, and we'll definitely be back. My Aunt and Uncle were in town for the night from Alaska before heading to Argentina and they wanted some good ol' fashioned BBQ. I saw this place here on yelp along with 3 others and it was chosen because Spring Creek is also coincidentally the name of the prison in Seward, Alaska. We all thought that was pretty funny and since it was so close to the airport we ventured over and got some dinner. The food was really good, brisket and pepper sausage is what we all shared some of and then my Uncle also got ribs. They were delicious. Everything was good. The coleslaw wasn't too mayo-ey, Mac and cheese was perfectly cheesey, and the mini loaves....OMG those were amazing. The fact that they walk around with them FRESH from the oven made it EVEN BETTER. All around, it was a great environment and really good BBQ that we all really enjoyed. And we've all been raised on brisket and sausage, so I know good BBQ when I taste it. read more

I don't remember the quality of the meats here to have been so poor. The sausage is nearly identical to Eckridge farms, which if you are familiar with it, is processed filler meat. The ribs were ok. Tender enough, but not falling off the bone. The flavor was nothing to brag about, almost absent. The turkey was par with grocery store deli meat. Chicken was dry, and this time through, we didn't eat the brisket (in the past it was decent). I am so uninspired by our recent visit, that I am now going to search elsewhere for quality BBQ. I ordered 2 chopped beef twosomes with baked potatoes to go. I get home and realize that the potatoes are hard and hardly had any toppings in them. No exaggeration when I tell you they might have had 3 bits of bacon. I called and spoke to Blake the manager to let him know and he apologized and told me he would speak to his staff.
