Wonderful old school dining and service. The parking is plentiful. Our entrees are always top notch. Try the Snapper Soup. Best snapper around !

Met a ex coworker for late lunch on weekday. It was crowded and later crowded with the elderly population. Many having cocktails. We sat at bar, our bartender and server was very professional and accommodating. We ordered espresso martini drinks the best in the burbs, mussels, soft brie with bread and crackers, wings and a sandwich. The food was amazing and best wings in the burbs perfectly flavored and cooked. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars. Few of the mussels tasted odd. Overall, great place would dine again.

11/13/22 We had looked at this venue initially for a bridal shower for my daughter- then the "C" word happened. Altogether now- "Covid" . . . So of course our event had to be cancelled. We really liked the banquet manager and the location when we initially visited the location. We chose to rebook and try again for our baby shower. The room was snug but ample enough for our guest list of nearly 50. I was very pleased with the food quality and selections. The service was good as well. Our meal was the choice of spinach tortellini, filet mignon (5oz), crab cake, or roasted half chicken. With the meal mashed potatoes, broccoli, salad and roll and butter were served. I have to say that my crab cake was delicious and it was pure crab through and through- plus no old bay seasoning (not a fan of old bay so that was a big plus for me) even the broccoli was steamed to perfection and the mashed redskin potato's were savory and tasty. Everyone loved the food. Along with that soft drinks were all included, plus coffee and Icecream with choc syrup. I understand this location hosts funeral luncheon gatherings as well. It's not easy to find a restaurant to host a banquet. Even w 50 we didn't have to pre- order. That was impressive to me- all of our guests ordered off the menu. I wish I lived closer because this venue reminds me of 7 Stars from the same era. I would certainly dine here if I lived near the area and wasn't 70 miles away. The building itself is historical and interesting. Cozy and comfortable. We decorated the room to our liking and our event was 3 hours long with a hard stop at 3:30 because another gathering was hosted following ours. To the staff, kitchen, line cooks, banquet servers, management of The Springhouse Tavern I thank you for a simply beautiful high quality experience.

Well it's been open two weeks now and we've already been there three times. Unfortunately, it was closed one time and we missed that, but I digress. Yes, it is the real deal! Delicious, quaint, friendly and affordable. So far we've had bacon cheeseburger, shrimp tacos, brisket sandwich, Mac and cheese, truffle fries. All were superb. I could barely fit the cheeseburger in my mouth. Loaded with bacon and flavor it is a wonderful experience. The truffle fries have an incredible taste that hit the spot with a tasty meal. The brisket sandwich melted in my mouth and was packed with yummyness (if that is a word?) Ms D had the shrimp tacos both times and can't wait to go back for more. Perhaps the nicest part of the experience has been the friendliness of the staff. Both Charlie and Desirey have take time to chat with us and all the customers. But when we finally had the opportunity to get a reservation at Mary, I felt compelled to write one. It didn't just "not disappoint", it exceeded every expectation we hoped to have. We sat at the bar, which gave a cool bar vibe with our own bottle of wine (which you don't always get at BYOs), and we had a clear view into the open kitchen. Plus, the service was perfectly on point throughout the entire meal. We started with the ceviche, which was a very generous portion for us to share, and absolutely delicious. I was planning to order the burger, but when the waitress told us it was always on the menu, I opted for the blackened swordfish... and, boy, was I glad I did. My husband got the pork chop; I snagged a bite and it was amazing, too. Both entrees were also very generous portions, and my leftovers were just as good the next day (maybe even a little better once the flavors blended together). We finished with a brownie dessert, and when we finally got the check, we were pleasantly surprised at how reasonable it was. When we arrived, we were seated right away. I'm never sure what I would like to order, and most of the time I resort to what is familiar. Seems like when I do order something different, I'm usually disappointed. Well, unfortunately it happened again! I decided to try the "Tomahawk Porkchop" for a change. It comes with charred carrots and I also got Au Grautin potatoes to go with it. This porkchop is "Huge" and I must say.....presents very well! (See pics). But when I tried to cut it or bite into it, my teeth bounced right back. This porkchop was tough and not done. Same thing for the carrots. They were charred but raw. I was so disappointed. I complained, but didn't demand that they take it back, nor did they offer. I just decided to take it home and finish cooking it for the next day. I simmered it in a covered pan for about 20 minutes or so, added the carrots for about 10 more minutes and it was delicious. That's all they need to do.....just finish cooking it! My family all enjoyed their meals with no complaints. They all got: Steak Penne Pasta, Lobster Fondue Salmon with Au Gratin potatoes and Filet Mingon with mushrooms. I can say my Au Gratin potatoes were really good and chessey! Lastly we ordered a huge piece of cake called "The Big Daddy"! It was enough to share and it was moist and delicious!! Even though my meal was almost uneatable, (until I finished cooking it), I really enjoyed myself and would go back and not order the porkchop! P.S. The wait Staff is very nice and personable and the overall restaurant is very beautifully decorated.

We ordered the eggroll sampler and fried pickles as an app. The eggrolls were tasteless, and the fried pickles were so greasy we couldn't eat them. Then on to the entrees, I ordered the brunch burger and my wife the French toast with bacon. French toast is what it is...not much you can do (and I still question my wife about ordering it). The burger, flavorless and overcooked. To make this experience better, the bacon for my wife's side and on my burger...completely raw. The food took a long time to come out, so no excuses. Quite empty on a Wednesday afternoon at 4:30. I assume they get a younger crowd that works and comes later (we are retired). The happy hour menu impressed us. Speciality cocktails normally $15-ish were only $9. That got our attention. Plus $5 appetizers. Never see lemon drop martini, manhattan and expresso martinis on happy hour afterall. And those were our picks (3 of us). We were celebrating Mom's 93 birthday. For the $5. appetizers we picked pork spring rolls, potato chip nachos, and mozzarella sticks. The chips were the winner. BUT "never" get the spring rolls. Two very disappointing , tiny spring rolls that had a microscopic amount of pork. It was pathetic. Not even worth it for $5. I would stay away from those. Silly only two on the plate and there were 3 of us. Too small to share. Our server was efficent and sweet. She added to a nice happy hour. We enjoyed playing a few rounds of table shuffle board. Nice addition. The best part of our happy hour was a friendly couple (we just met them) at the bar surprised us and paid for a round of drinks since they heard it was my Mom's 93 birthday!! That surely made her day extra special and memorable.

I typically lean towards the mediterranean options when I dine here, but they really have such a great variety. From pizza, to pasta, salads, or even burgers. We started with the Mediterranean combo platter which came with all the yummies- Humus, Baba Ganush, Tabbouleh, Falafel, Stuffed Grape Leaves & feta (plus, cucumbers for our gluten free diner). All to die for. As for entrees, our tiny queen got chicken fingers and fries- $17 is kinda crazy for a kids meal if I'm being honest, but it's a large portion. I went with the filet souvlaki which was so tasty- especially the tzatziki sauce. My mom went with the leg of lamb platter, and J got a greek salad- add chicken. Enjoyable, all around. For dessert, the tiny queen requested the brownie with vanilla ice cream and the birthday girl (my mom) opted for the lemon cake. Everyone's bellies were very happy by the end. My only complaint are some of the prices and upcharges. $4 add cucumber because someone is gluten free is crazy. Nonetheless, this will not stop us from returning.
