We had a reservation and arrived on time but there was no table ready. That happens when it's busy but while we waited 20 minutes for a table the hostess blatantly sat two tables ahead of us, one was three friends of hers who had no reservation. I asked them. The food was very good but they pack too many tables in a tight space to make it an enjoyable experience and beware part of the restaurant is "communal seating" - no privacy and not good in Covid times. Decided to give this place a try before the Christmas tree lighting in Spring Lake. The decor is very nice and wait staff was friendly. The food was delicious and it's nice to have a BYOB in town. We had the scallops and the tuna pizza was delicious. They need to expand their kids menu to have more options or half portions. My 9yo had the salmon and he cleaned his plate, but I definitely wouldn't normally spend $27 on his entree. read more

I can't speak to the taste of their food because they refused me and my boyfriend service. When we entered the restaurant, it was practically empty. They saw us standing there and ignored us. Finally a lady came over to us and when we asked to be seated, they asked if we have a reservation. I said no. Then the lady at the counter said, "Sorry we're completely booked." There was absolutely no evidence of them being booked. My boyfriend asked until what time are you booked, and she said all the way until 8:00 PM. It was 5:40-ish when we inquired about how long they are booked for. I don't know if they were understaffed or just didn't like the way we looked, but they definitely refused us service here. Our experience was disappointing. Very Hot day. A/C not functioning well.the table was in direct sun Our request for a shady table was NOT met. The temperature in Reaturant was 79 degrees. The finish On the table was actually melting and they tried to wipe it up but the stick stuff could not be cleared. Definitely a must stop if you're by the shore in the Monmouth area. The ambiance, music and service was amazing. The presentation was top notch. Our table started with the garlic shrimp, shrimp/asparagus tempura rolls, clams and salad. Our entrees were lobster Mac, shrimp stuffed trout, and the ricotta cavatelli. I had dinner with family at Spring Lake Seafood on 6/30/23. The food was terrific. We all shared appetizers...oysters and pizzas. Ordered the special of the day...a salmon-like trout. Delicious. It came with fingerling potatoes and broccoli rabe. Deserts were very good. Some had "mocktails," which they enjoyed. The service was impeccable. Our server was a young woman who maintained the right balance of attention to our needs and leaving us alone to enjoy the meal. The support staff worked well with her. The setting of the restaurant is great. It was my first visit, and I knew the place when it was a local luncheonette. The owners really did well in redecorating. The restaurant is bright, airy, and cheerful. We were a party of seven and never felt crowded in. I would highly recommend Spring Lake Seafood, and I look forward to many return visits to dine there. read more

Dinner here was outstanding!!! They have done such a cute job renovating the place and keeping the charm of the original building. The tuna pizza was incredible. Also loved the swordfish special, it was so fresh. For non-seafood eaters, my friends loved their bolognese. The only downside is a 4% charge for using a credit card, I hope they get rid of that but it's clearly noted on their menu. Our waiter was very friendly & we had great service. Gave this a try earlier in the week. The waitress we had was very nice and attentive and we were seated right away. I had the fish and chips. Wish the entirety of the fish was a little crispier - not just the ends. Fries were ok - they didn't taste fresh. No soft drinks either - just organic ones. It wasn't too crowded when we were there but I noticed that it was getting pretty loud - I can't imagine what it's like when it's packed. No alcohol on the menu (at least that I could see but I was here for lunch) but they have a display of wine which was a little odd. All in all, it was ok. I'd come back again but I don't know that it would be my first choice. read more

Can't say enough good things of our first time at SLS . We started with a nice seafood tower of oysters,clams ,shrimp n lobster and all fresh and tasty . All the Apps were really good . The tuna pizza ,garlic shrimp, mussel's so good . I went with the Whole sea bass pan seared n perfectly cooked. Our diners had the lobster roll n the ahi tuna and no complaints all were very impressed since SLS has only been open a few months . We there last night. Was amazed at the renovation. Absolutely beautiful. We had Oysters, Tuna Pizza and the Ahi Tuna. All were great. The service was outstanding and the atmosphere great. We were surprised because the restaurant was packed. So nice to see even though Spring Lake is a shore town and things get a bit "sleepy" in the winter. There is a Fish market as well. Finally tried Spring Lake Seafood for dinner. Was able to get a reservation at the bar the same day we called. So impressed with the decor, it really feels like you are at the shore. Mary our server was very welcoming and knowledgeable about the menu. We started with shrimp and oysters as an appetizer. So fresh and delicious. Husband ordered the cavatelli and I ordered the spaghetti and clams. Both dishes were excellent! Finished off the night sharing a slice of key lime pie. Perfect dinner out. We will be back. Zero stars! So we just left this restaurant for lunch. So I asked the waitress what the cost of the Mahi special was and she said $8.95. We get the check and it's $17.95. When I asked for an explanation she says oh that's an add-on with the salad. I said I don't know why you're talking about a salad when I ordered the special. She then said I could see how it would be misleading. And she said 'note to self'. Unreal! That's how you want to do business? On top of that typical loud 70s music and nothing was changed from the last restaurant so it doesn't look like they care very much. read more

Space is sort of seafood cute... oysters were bland .. crispy rice wasn't crispy but the flavor was ok. Sea bass bland and lots of bones . Fjhord was a huge portion slightly overcooked but was decent . The dessert had no taste and we were going to try the pecan pie dessert but almost 16.00 and looked like a mini slice . Silverware taken off our plates and put back on the table. Plates were scrapped table side ... I expect that at a diner not at a 38.00 plus for entree. Service was just average at best . Never got a pen to sign check had to borrow from another table . Byob and dinner was 75.00 per person . I understand food costs but I don't understand poor service . Not worth the cost read more

This used to be a great breakfast place called On Third. We had looked forward to eating there on our recent trip to Spring Lake. The breakfast wasn't bad but the coffee was awful! It tasted burned & was undrinkable. We told the waitress about it & told her not to replace it, just take it away. Not only were we charged for it, but they also charged 75 cents for the small amount of skim milk we used in it. Have never before been charged extra for skim milk for coffee! I fully understand the challenges that COVID has created, but this is basic training in a restaurant. We will not be returning. There are better places down the block. read more

We had dinner last night and the place was very busy, but the staff managed to seat each group as it came in. We had reservations and our table was ready, even a bit early. The lighting and music were perfect. We could see our menu, but still had that ambiance of a romantic restaurant. We could hear the people at our table and enjoy conversation, but weren't able to hear the other tables; good acoustics. And the food! We had chowder, Ahi tuna, a beet salad and cavatelle entree. Everything was delicious! But, we couldn't help spying dishes on other tables that made us know we have to come back often to try them, too. We ate breakfast at SLS yesterday and were not impressed. Both our omelets were dry and overcooked and mine had the wrong ingredients. The server did not write down our orders which may explain the incorrect omelet and did not return to check on us so I could let her know that the omelet was wrong. Home fries were fair and may have been frozen potatoes. No fresh squeezed juice. No jam or spread for our toast. All around, it was not a favorable experience. read more

We have enjoyed 2 visits, both quite excellent. The tuna pizza was a hit, shrimp and oysters excellent, and calamari crisp and tasty. Chowder was not as thick as we like, but tasty. Spaghetti and clams was excellent. Crab Cake special was tasty. All good sized, not oversized, portions. Apple crumb cake dessert a tad gooey but delicious. Service was very good, appropriately attentive. A bit pricy but it is Spring Lake after all. read more
