Update Jan 2016 Last time I went one of the ladies jabbed my toe underneath my big toe nail and actually drew blood. She used some liquid in a green glass vial to stop the bleeding. I've never been hurt here and I didn't like the way the brushed it off after I kept telling her it hurts. She said it was ingrown, but none of my toe nails are. Won't be coming back here. read more

Wish I could leave a zero! Have been coming here the past 10 months and it has progressively gotten worse. I was hesitant to make a change and just dealt with waits, cuticle cuts, being abandoned midmanicure, etc. Some of the girls were nice enough but the owner is a complete jerk. The straw that broke the camels back was being grossly misquoted a time estimate and then them working on two people that came in after me before helping me. Couldn't be more done with them. I came across this place bcuz of work. I'm overly impressed. Prices are reasonable and I am always offered a water upon arrival. I am so picky and I always leave happy. Place is clean and sanitized. They have even stayed late for me multiple times. New spa pedicure chairs with plastic liners are the best! I never make appointments and yet when I walk in they are always excited to see me. I went here. To get my nails done. For a date...usually never get my nails done:).. i love the color blue on the walls very calming... The ladys working there were happy. Do not come here for waxing. I got my arms waxed here two days ago and they're still covered in painful, itchy red bumps. The waxer didn't pull my skin taut at any point, so my skin was being damaged. She missed so many spots but I didn't say anything because it was so painful. When it was over I looked at the receipt and I'd been charged $25 when the sign clearly read that a full arm wax is $18. Never coming back here for any reason. I'm disinfecting my arms until these bumps go away because I highly doubt any part of the process was sanitary. read more

I have moved from Long Beach but the last few months of going to Spring Nails before I left it has gone way downhill!! All the people I really liked left and so I would try to have employees who I knew so my nails but they put me with new people. The one who did my full set screwed them up bad. She was telling me she was new - and kept insisting she was doing a good job when I would complain. I went there for a pedicure the week before I left town and all the employees who had been there weren't busy but they put me with yet another new lady. She did a horrible job- worst at massage and made me have ingrown nails. I really liked Kim but it seems like something was going on there with everyone leaving. I was busy packing etc and I don't have time to try to go back and get my nails fixed. I would not recommend this place anymore!!! read more

This place is very choosy with who they give specially good service to. I don't know if it was that upon coming in I wasn't dressed my best or anything and I know being a college student maybe. Sad to say that this will probably be my last time here! I've been coming here for years. Way before they changed ownership or management , and things have declined. They seem to be very choosy with which customer they treat well. I usually come in a pack always 3 or more people, so that's a pretty big bill for them and they usually are very nice and take their time with our services. They were very accommodating. If we didn't come for a couple of months someone would actually call me to see if they can set appointments for us. Kind of strange. Well, I came by myself today. Wow. The nail technician working on my nails didn't even seem to want to do my nails. She got up constantly, rushed while she was buffing my nails because the skin around my nails were raw, and the painting of the nails were inconsistent,uneven, and goopy. I'm definitely unhappy. But while I was there the lady doing my nails checked on other customers to make sure their nails were perfect and nice. But the other ladies were getting acrylics done. It doesn't matter what service is being done the customer service provided should be the same. She also didn't provide the full service unless things have changed. After she was done painting my nails she just rubbed it with cuticle oil and said ok! No lotion or hot towel. Basically if you're spending a lot of money you'll get great service. Have been coming here for quite some time, but not anymore. The manager is terrible, so incredibly rude. (If you want to know how NOT to manage a business, go here.) The services have gotten worse and are certainly not worth what they charge. I had a standing appointment for a fill/pedi every two weeks and the manicurist was late EVERY time. She would come in with the same excuse each time, an accident at the 22/405 freeways. Since she was always late, my fills were being half assed more and more. They were getting thick, lumpy and acrylic would overflow around the skin of my nail bed. I was being cut and burned by her on a regular basis. My pedis went from being enjoyable to being mediocre. They were charging the same prices but slowly doing less and less. The last straw was when in the midst of my last appointment they informed me they were only accepting cash that day because their credit card machine was broken. It had been broken since the previous day, but no one had mentioned it to me when I came in. They waited until I was in a position that I couldn't just leave to make me aware of this. I don't generally carry cash, so this was very inconvenient for me. It really annoyed me and I made the decision at that point I would not be coming back. read more

Been to this place a couple times and was happy but this last time I was not happy at all! I walked in wanting to remove my acrylics and do the sns powder and the owners husband said it was $3 to remove my nails and then told me no charge to remove them, the nail tech then came over and was like $7 to remove. When I told her what he said she said no $7! I was fine with that and we proceeded. Once my acrylic was removed she started to file my nails but once she got to my thumb ...I don't know what she did. I have one side that's filed in too far and one side that's rounded. She said she was doing coffin. That's not coffin! Then she continued to give me attitude when I said it's fine let's just continue and not file that one anymore. She burned me numerous times with the drill, made my middle finger bleed. All and all this is the worst set I've ever had! The powder is layed over my cuticles and hangs over into my skin on my thumbs. It's lifted and snagging on to everything. Not to mention in even! I should go in and have them redo it but I don't wanna argue with them! Also the owner will ask for your number if you spend a lot there and then call you when she doesn't see you in the following months. It's weird. read more

The prices are completely affordable. If there is something wrong or we don't like they fix it right away. I've even chipped my nail the next day and came in and they fixed without charging me again. I visited this nail salon for the first time today based on reading the reviews from others when I did a google search. I was the first customer in the door and was greeted warmly upon entering. I initially came in for a gel manicure with chrome but they didn't have the nail samples to look at. I was directed to Yvonne to speak to her about the chrome metallic effects and she was willing to show me a couple of different looks to see if I would be happy with what she had in mind. Clearly she was very eager to please me and I waited but before she could finish showing me all the metallic looks I saw a flyer for the new dip technique which she was skilled in. Supposedly it last longer than gel and gives the illusion that you have thicker nails. I signed up for that and Yvonne took her time with me and did an excellent job. I'm very happy with the outcome. I'm sad to say I won't be going here anymore. Apparently they got new management and from the looks of it a lot of the girls quit. The new girls rushed threw my pedicure and my grandmothers manicure. Didn't even use a top or bottom coat. No massage. And I just wAnted my gel on my acrylics re done and the lady drilled down into my nails and now they are lumpy and weird looking. And it's not even time for a fill yet, but now I may have to just get one early. Im sAd to see this place go down hill because I've been going here for a long time. Time to find a new nail place! I came here when my normal nail place couldn't take me and I really enjoyed it! It's no frills, but the women here do a very good job and take a lot of care in their services. My fill looked amazing and my spa pedicure felt great, and they didn't skimp on the massage :) for a fill with gel and a spa pedicure (includes salt scrub, massages, and callus remover) I paid 58. I would say that paying under 60 for both services is pretty awesome! I would recommend this spot. read more

I am writing a review now because I was not a member of yelp at the time of my experience, and now having found a new place, and reading reviews from other customers, I feel it's time. As a loyal customer of Spring Nails for over ten years, I had to leave due to a really bad experience. I am picky about my nails, and get them done on a regular basis booking my appointments weeks in advance with the same person to get them done right consistently. Before leaving on vacation I got my nails done and noticed a brown spot on my nail and pointed it out to the girl doing my nails(Lily was still working on someone and suggested this person, I figured, hey I have been coming here long enough, they should know me). I was told the spot was just from the previous color I had on that stained the nail. I thought that was odd since the other nails did not have this spot. I went on vacation and upon my return went to get my nails done again. To my surprise upon taking the polish off, this brown spot was now GREEN! The girl said I had a fungus. I told her that I had showed her that spot before and she said it was a stain from the polish. All the girls then went on to talk their language and each one took turns looking at my nail. The outcome was NO nails. I had to have bare nails for six months. (keep in mind that I noticed that she used a clear to appease me and I'm sure she did NOT THROW IT AWAY after I left.) Like a previous reviewer, I too had to seek medical advice and treatment, and had a painful finger to go with it. I was scared to even try to go back afterward and did not get my nails done for a year. The struggle believe it or not, was finding a new place that did my nails that way I wanted, that the tools were sanitized using a clean tools with each customer, allowing you to book appointments with this same person months in advance and the price. This might sound easy, but it's not. Some advice. If your nail cracks within a week of fill, go back, this means they are diluting the powder. When you run your fingers through hair, either by washing or styling or just running through, the hair should not get caught on a crack in your nail. This means nail is not sealed and water can get in. Get nail fix immediately. Last but certainly not least (and you might not like this one) bring your own nail polish. Do you really think that bottle you saw a week ago lasted for all those customers? They dilute the nail polish by adding acetone. I have seen them do it, and you probably have too. If you buy your own nail polish you not only have your own collection, but you get to pick what color you want (which is what they ask you anyway), but you actually have the color you want, not just settle for what they have to choose from, which is probably not the color you had in mind to begin with. All in all Spring Nails will need to get sanitary or keep losing loyal customers. read more

Quite disappointed , went in for a Mani pedicure today with my daughter. Just as we were settling in the tub I noticed dirty debris which included old nails... clippings !!!!! Eaaakkkkkk....DISGUSTING!!!! Needless to say I expressed my disgust and left. Never have I ever experienced something so disgusting at a salon. I then went to a fabulous CLEAN new place in Lakewood! My name is Rachel. I have been going to spring nails since I was 18 . I'm now 43 that's a long time . Lilly use to do my nails and ever since she left it's gone down hill quick . Susan did my nails last week and I have returned 3 times In 1 week to fix cracked nails. When I mentioned this to Susan she acted like it was my fault and was very rude and unprofessional. Oh Spring Nails...how I miss you. Spring Nails is one of the reasons I miss Long Beach so much. The ladies here are very nice and all do a great job. In 10 years, I've never had a bad experience here. I used to go here for acrylics, but now only go for pedicures (afraid I might accidentally scratch my kids' eyes out). They recently got awesome new spa pedicure chairs. The ladies always ask about my kids and actually remember a lot of things that I've told them in the past. They are friendly and welcoming, but mostly leave you alone to read or text or do whatever you are trying to do to relax (which I love!).
