Spring Spa was able to accommodate my bestie and i for massages with a few hours notice. The spa is located on the second floor of a strip mall and was completely empty when we arrived. We decided to get a 90 minute combo massage for $75. The experience started pleasant with tranquil music, firm pressure and then it went downhill when customers came in and my masseuse left me mid-treatment to go tend to them. When it was time to flip over and face down, my masseuse was barely applying pressure with her forearm and i can feel one of her hands/arm leaving my body. I wondered what she could be doing and then realized that she was using her phone! I had to lift my head and look behind at her and then she realized that she should bring her attention back to my massage. Meanwhile my bestie was irritated because our masseuses were gossiping with one another and barely giving any attention to her massage. During my massage- they take a call during my massage in the room, then immediately after someone walks in front door and she stops again to go get door. Comes back and says they will add on time. Again, door opens and she runs out again only to return with a new masseuse. His hands were cold, my feet were cold, room was still cold. He didn't really know where last person left off so my arms never massaged, my "extra minutes" were him hitting my legs then picking them up and dropping them a few times. We opt in for a combo 90 minutes massage (body and foot) for $75 and were super excited for a good massage. The lady asked if we could remove our cloth which I understand is a typical request but the difference is we were in a communal area. Yes, it was dark but there were another couple (male/female) next to us. Though it was a bit awkward, we decided to comply because we do not want to completely ruin our experience. At least we were covered by a blanket. We were asked to move to a private room when they did our back massage. Overall, it was decent. My friend said the lady who did her massage had very strong cigarette smell on her hand. What really ticked us off was during the check out, the older lady "demanded" for extra tips. The total cost was $150, we gave $30 as tips. That was a good hefty 20% tips. When we paid $200 in cash and asked for $20 change, the older lady said it was an hour massage and $15/person tip is too little and she wants $20. She gave me back $10 change. At that moment, we were astounded and really didn't want to argue and felt blah with the whole situation. We decided to just give in and leave to continue with our plan. You get a nice relaxing full body massage. This isn't ideal for me like a sports massage or deep tissue. But this helps a lot until I can get home and see my chiropractor or massage therapist. My friends and I were in Vegas for EDC and wanted to get a massage after day 2 so we would be refreshed for day 3. We all chose the $19 foot massage. The guy working on me was going too hard and it started to hurt. When I say hurt I mean painful not just a discomfort. I had to ask him to not go so hard. He laughed and said ok and continued exactly the same. After another minute of this excruciating pain I told him to stop massaging that part of my foot because it hurts. The stupid part was when they said $20 and said plus tips $30. Wtf? I don't care if it's just a $1 difference, it's the principle. If you're trying to relax I would not recommend this place. It's all one big room with multiple beds and neon lights. Remind me of a fishbowl. You can hear everything that's going on, conversations and door noises. The whole time I was getting my massage the workers kept talking right next to me and normal volume, not hush tone. It's was very annoying and the whole time all you can think is to tell them to STFU. It's not like they're communicating with each other to get supplies or anything just normal conversation. A foot massage is $38/hour -- a little pricy but I mean I don't know what the average is around here and the reviews were good so we said why not? We were taken to the dark room where we took our shoes off and dipped my feet in the warm water. They began the massage by giving us a basic massage on our heads and the shoulder area. Then they moved to the feet and worked hard for close to an hour. I am ticklish but they did a great job making sure that I don't get ticklish and they did a great job reaching all the knots I had in my feet. After the massage, I felt so refreshed and rejuvenated. I wasn't even sure the linen was clean. When I layed down the linen smelled fresh so that was a relief. The couples massage was disappointing very little massage but just rubbing and light pressure. It only lasted a few minutes. No legs, scalp or face like other places I've been. The part that makes up for it was the delightful foot massage. We came to this spot on the spur of moment decision and luckily they able to work four of us in. The chairs we sat in for our foot massage were very comfortable. They have about 10 of these chairs in the one room . The place looks and smells clean. The person checking us in was pleasant. I think because she knew we weren't going to be attended to immediately she asked if we wanted a drink and made sure she communicated with us every now and again letting us know they aren't ignoring us. I got my first ever massage ever here at Spring Spa. My better half was feigning for a massage and when I perused Groupon, I seen that Spring Spa was offering a couples' massage for only $60. How could I pass up that deal? Looks like I was getting a massage too. I called and made an appointment with a surprising level of ease - hooray for availability. First off, Spring Spa is located smack dab in Chinatown, so don't come here expecting a Eurocentric take on a massage place. Upon walking in, you'll enter an open space with around 12 small beds. Two men were being tended to and my first thought was, well this is weird, but we went with it anyways. We were quickly checked in and seated in this area. Within 3 minutes we were instructed to lie back and towel was draped over our eyes, making it easier to relax in this communal space. Our foot soak and sea salt scrub commenced! Getting a foot scrub was awesome and lasted around 15 minutes. Next, we were led to a private room for the couples massage. This is where you take your clothes off! We also went for the hot stones add-on for an additional $10 per person. I have nothing to compare my experience to but the massage felt either good or painful at certain times. Other times I was stifling my laughter because I could hear the masseuse beating the crap out of my husband. Get this - she legit walked on him (He said he only thought that happened in movies)!! My gal went a lot easier on me, and I'm grateful for it! But hey, overall he enjoyed his massage too. I'd forgo the hot stones because they last all but 2 minutes. My wife and I did the Couples 60-Minute Full-Body Combo Massage with Green Tea Foot Soak and Sea Salt Foot Scrub. The massage didn't last 60-minutes. There wasn't much effort put by either of our masseuse and several parts of the body weren't even touched (I am talking shoulders, forearms, hands, fingers and calf). We even paid 20$ extra for a hot-stone upgrade which lasted for less than 2-minutes. Big mistake purchasing this Groupon and will never be going here again. read more
