My son has attended Spring Valley Montessori School for the past 2 years, since the age of 19 months old. When he started school, he was developmentally delayed and only spoke a few words due to his extreme prematurity. I expressed my concerns about his ability to complete the tasks in class and I was told not to worry, they would teach him, and did they ever! My son learned Spanish, sign language, and self-help skills at such a rapid rate, his therapists and pediatrician were amazed. They also stress manners and taking turns. When we were ready to start potty training, Ms. Anita told us to just put him in underwear and they would train him. It took a while, but eventually we were successful. By 2 years old, he progressed to the preschool class because he had learned all of the letter names and sounds, colors, and numbers to 12. In his new class, his vocabulary and academic skills began to skyrocket. He no longer needed speech therapy and physical therapy and was not only caught up to his peers in all areas, but he was significantly advanced. He is now 3 1/2 years old and has a solid foundation of early reading skills. He can also recognize double digit numbers to 99 and name all of the continents on a map. The Montessori method just makes sense by allowing students to advance at their own pace in a mixed-age group. This school exposes students to higher academic content that traditional preschools and when they complete the benchmarks in class, they are moved to a higher class, regardless of age. Since my son interacted with older kids, his speech and vocabulary improved exponentially. Parent-teacher conferences occur twice a year so you can get updates on your child's progress. There are performances for almost every holiday you can imagine, which always include a feast for the entire family. Just get there early, the tables fill up fast. There is a feeling of family between the staff and the parents, which I think is so special. I feel as though they love my child as if he were their own. The only thing we would change is that it is very far away from our house, about 30 minutes, but it is worth the drive for the level of care my son receives. My children have been at this school for almost a year. I love the atmosphere and approach here. This is a Montessori private school so there is a major difference from the regular public schools throughout the valley. The children direct how they can progress and the teachers work wonderfully with each student giving them their individual attention. They have worked with me in questions I have, and helping me as well to supplement at home in sync with their academic calendars. All the faculty and Ms Susan do their best in giving the children proper education while also creating a close knit atmosphere. Both my children have advanced quickly here and love going everyday! I really enjoy their open door policy to the parents on a daily basis and all the fun events throughout the year they take the time to create for all families. My children speak multiple languages and their teachers have taken the time to speak to them when they respond, as well as teaching the students cultural sensitivity. I highly recommend to anyone looking for a place your children can grow a solid and safe foundation academically while having the opportunity to be themselves! read more

We Love this School! Wonderful Family owned School... feels more like family than a school! My Child is thriving as are all of the other students! I volunteer just about everyday and the Education and Love that is given to the children is Amazing! By far the best school my children have ever attended! I see there is a comment on here from Sweet M her comment is not true... I was there volunteering a couple days ago and while standing next to Sweet M.... her children and my child she was swearing at the teachers....I had to ask her to leave or I would call the police...no one should ever swear at another human being or name calling especially in front of children...I was very saddened by Shira's actions to say the least as I told her to leave I also told her that I Loved her because as I am a woman of God I do forgive her but please know this School is Amazing and her comment is not true. care about the children that go there like maybe provide them with items to enjoy outside other than some beat up dirty houses and bikes to play on. How much money runs though your bank accounts.. maybe you should put it back into the school. your facilitator ms Suzy did not properly take care of my 18-month-old .. the rash from not changing him frequently enough left him with such redness and soreness on his bottom THAT I COULDNT EVEN TOUCH HIM TO WIPE HIM OR CLEAN HIM. U SHOULD BE ASHAMED OF YOURSELF. put your grandson down and take care of the responsibility that you chose to take on. i would love to upload the photo taken from that day but then it would be considered child porn or some craziness. do not take your children here..they are money hungry. you're just a check to them!!! read more

I absolutely love this school. The school is family run and feels very warm and loving, with a happy, positive atmosphere. The staff and their director are very kind, devoted to their jobs and professional. Their director Ms. Susan pours her heart and soul into making this school enjoyable for students of all ages and the staff here is outstanding at their job. A couple children from my family have gone here for many years and they've learned so much over the years, they've progressed educationally here than they have at any other school. This school is not worth the money. The owner Susan is only interested in money. A bully was admitted back into the school because Susan wanted the money!! Never mind the children whom she bullied. It is such a small space my daughter had no where to hide from this bully who was 4 years older than her. My two children went here for two years. 25-30$$ thousand dollars EACH a year and I cant get them out of there fast enough. The only saving grace for this "school" is Mr Jedd who is a WONDERFUL teacher. But definately not worth the price read more

Shocktroop M. If the director already gave you exceptions and special treatment, how much more do you want? Free services just because you are in the military service? Yoou think you are entitled to every thing because of being a military family. The school director is so accommodating. She makes sure everybody is safe and that the children are treated equally. I absolutley love this school!!! My granddaughter has been there for 9 years!!!! She loves the teachers and says she never wants to leave the school.
