We found Journey Education is a small community to be a part of that is rich with integrity and scholastic competence. As a nonprofit private school, it is a total diamond in the rough for Las Vegas families. Our son has transformed in the past 2 years of being there with reduced anxiety and grades he feels proud of. Parents are given many opportunities to contribute to the students' experience and that was a big plus for us. The teachers are full of purpose and care about the students. The owners of the school are involved and genuinely care about the contributions their nonprofit school makes in this world. Highly recommend this K-8 school if there is space to enroll. Also, they offer an unbeatable summer program (our 3rd summer yet).

This is a great school and if your child needs extra attention, the small classrooms of 10 makes it easy for Journey to provide.

In addition to providing a top notch education, Dawson incorporates strategies and values that benefit students' overall health and well-being. Dawson is so much more than a school- it's a community of caring dedicated professionals working together to create an environment where students can become confident, resilient, and well-rounded individuals. As a Challenge Success school, Dawson incorporates empathy, respect, and diversity, fostering a climate of care shared by all. In addition, I must mention that I have been extremely impressed with how proactive and transparent Dawson has been in successfully navigating the pandemic. As we all know, you're in a lawsuit because you let a kid get brutally sa'd on a school trip, not the first time you've gotten in trouble with the law though huh. Your response was interesting, saying that you didn't know what was happening. The weird thing is you did though, you knew exactly what was happening but you didn't want to get your little donations to go down. "dismissing accusations that the school fostered a "boys will be boys" atmosphere and victim-blamed the student." My sister once reported that a kid said "I'd punch you if you weren't a girl" and your P.E. Teacher tried to make her feel grateful he was "being nice" sounds oddly similar for something you don't do though huh. Also coincidental you only defend people based on how much their parents pay. There's more but all the Reddit posts and videos speaking out about you have been mysteriously going missing so there's probably no use in writing this anyway. Sal out

Principal Gerry Born is the best principal ever! Very attentive and very engaging with both teachers, students and parents. The teachers are spectacular! They really care about educating the children. They make sure they make it a fun environment, so the children feel at ease. Making it easier for them to learn new information. This school seems very advanced and up to date with their teachings and their technology. Since attending this school, I've noticed my child is a bit more advanced on the academic side compared to her other peers that go to regular in person public schools. Nothing against public schools, this school just works out for us as a family. This school uses real life scenarios in their quarterly projects. For example, they need to research about their dream vacation and how much it cost in real time and create a budget, etc. Surprisingly, as parents, after realizing her dream vacation was definitely more doable budget wise, we were able to actually take her on that dream vacation in less than a year's time. It not only teaches the students, but every assignment and project teaches us as parents as well. We highly recommend this charter school.

This school has done a lot of renovations & it's looking better than ever. The reason I did not give this a 5 star is because the only thing they need to work on is more "lighting " in all the parking lots at night. During game nights it is super dark and I don't think that is safe for anyone, especially the students.

The choir teacher at this school is an absolute bully. He expects you to be nice to him but is not…read morenice to you. He's sexist and racist. He loves saying boys are better than girls, simply because some of the girls, including me, were too shy to sing on the spot. When more than one person was talking out of turn, he specifically called out me and said, "I get it you're white and privileged, and think you're entitled." Which was not the case, my family was so broke at the time we could only afford to go to GoodWill to get clothes. My chemistry teacher in the 9th grade wouldn't let us go to the nurse or bathroom, because it was the last period. That's not okay, because we could have a medical emergency, and a lot of us take the bus after school so we don't have the option of going to the bathroom after the period is over. Also, you should never ban someone from needing to do a human function. We're humans, we pee, do I really need to explain that to you? I have a huge problem with the dance and pe teachers at this school. It is never ok to ban one's right to privacy, and that's exactly what they did. They noticed a lot of girls were changing in the locker room's bathroom stalls and had a talk with us that it needed to stop, and even went as far as to put signs up saying no changing in the bathrooms. If your anything like me, I felt uncomfortable changing in front of everyone else, because I was sexually harassed at my old school which caused me to put myself through some self-harm. I was also afraid that I would be bullied by some of the other girls. So to say "it's fine we're all girls" is very ignorant, because you know how girls can be towards other girls at that age especially in high school. And, it's messed up that I have to say all this to possibly get someone to change it. There would be boys in class talking to each-other saying the most disrespectful/homophobic/sexist/ignorant things about girls right by the teacher's and they would do absolutely nothing.
