The arrival window is 2-4pm. There is no one showing up during the window, and I wasted 2 hrs waiting. Hannah texted me beforehand and let me know she would arrive around 4:30. She was very punctual at the time she communicated. Additionally she did a very good job cleaning the whole upstairs including kitchen/full bath/dining/living and finished the carpet with a beautiful pattern. If it was not her I would give this experience a zero to one star review. The original girl decided not to come. They send Lorena as substitute. She did not show up until 7pm and she left before 8:30pm. There are mud still on the floor (I am not sure if the room was vacuumed, not to mention mopped) and the stuff were not even returned to where I put them originally. The small carpet area does not even looked cleaned ( especially with a comparison from upstairs, which has a beautiful pattern, it looked even worse). Worst of all, I cannot communicate w her. Please do not use them. The scheduled Saturday cleaner was a no show and I waited around for nothing. I called the owner multiple times over the weekend and emailed support. I was told weekend support was limited but they would try to find me a replacement. No replacement was found for the weekend and I had to make another trip to the unoccupied condo to move packages into the unit before it was cleaned. Finally on Monday, they sent someone to do the move-in clean and this cleaner did not have the tools to do a detailed move in clean. There was debris left in the microwave area and a couple of smudge marks on window and floor. Things happen and people dont show but how management responds to the issue is mark of a good company and I was sorely disappointed. I was given a 25% credit for the clean which in my opinion is not enough. Thats why I am here giving them a F for failing to appease a customer who not only did not get a scheduled detail clean but how I was handled (no apology from owner) or that I had to call to see where my refund was (it magically showed up in my cc only after I called the company!). read more

There were some hiccups with booking, where the web site had an error in the rescheduling feature, and their telephone rang through to a full voicemail box. I was eventually able to reach them by email, though, and all's well that ends well in that I'm very satisfied with the work that was done. read more

I have not received a service from them yet. I am trying to be their new customer! I've been trying to understand their new pricing policy. I sent 2 emails. Try to do live chat. But they won't give me any response (live chat disconnected instantly after this question). So, I thought maybe they can see this and respond to me. There are 3 options at Spruse (I think recently added). - cleaned often - cleaned regularly - cleaned rarely I tried all these options and it seems like there is an additional fee even if the house is "cleaned often or regularly". So, I am having difficult time understanding why the base price doesn't start with the additional $20 because no matter what the condition of the house is the company charges that extra $20 (even if it is cleaned often). So this to me is extremely interesting! ---response to Spruse-- Not sure why potential customers' reviews are not prioritized as it attests to the level of customer service you might provide. I booked this service for a move out clean for a 2 bed 2 bath condo. I specifically asked on Yelp before booking if I needed to add on any extras and they said everything is automatically added to a move out clean and that I don't need any add ons. The cleaner got there on time but we faced a LOT of issues, damage and unprofessionalism from their end. 1. The cleaner carelessly left a piece of rag with bleach/dropped bleach (he doesn't know which or how) and damaged the carpet. He said he did it but didn't even flinch with the giant patch of damage. We have to now pay for replacing the carpet in the entire room. 2. I had cleaned the laundry closet and the machine myself the day before the clean only to see the next day the dryer full of filth (attached photos) like someone had used it to wash/dry cleaning rags, mop heads etc. It looks like outdoor dirt. We had a fully secure, doorman building and we checked security footage to ensure nobody had entered the building or condo. He was the ONLY person who entered the condo during that time. He wasn't going to clean it that's fine, how can he use it and leave it dirty? This is so unprofessional and shocking honestly and the company doesn't even admit to this. 3. Now to the actual cleaning, the cleaner left dirt on the hardwood floors, doors, walls, cabinets, grout in the bathroom, did not spot clean carpet (wasn't even carrying a cleaner) and you can see in the photos how dirty it is and make up your own mind. The response: It has been 3 days since the clean I have not been able to speak to 1 person over the phone at this place. I reacted Austin, he asked to reach out to Jackii who never answered. Then a Brian messaged me saying and sent a wrong email ID to share issues which bounced back. I finally looked it up myself and sent them a long email with photos of the damage, laundry and all the dirt. Now after confirming before booking that no add ons are required, they now conveniently say walls are not included. Even if they aren't, cabinets, doors, floors, bathroom tiles were also no included? They don't respond to that. I haven't even heard back from them yet on any of the damage or unclean areas. I am expect to be reimbursed for the carpet damage as well as the actual cleaning service. I really tried to work with Spruse. I wanted to schedule a cleaning that was a set time as I have kiddos that take naps. 1st try: Austin set me up with a time slot in conversation via Yelp App, "We can come at 9 Ill make the necessary changes :)" on the day of the service, Austin emailed and said the cleaner was sick and he would send someone at 11am. Finally at 1pm I called him as no one had shown up. He profusely apologized, we setup a date the next weekend clearly a 9-noon clean. 2nd try: That next week, I wait around and again no one shows up, I call at noon and Austin blames his scheduler for the missed visit. At this point, I ask to just refund my 150$ he has been holding as a deposit. He says, of course and gives this long story about how he will immediately get my money refunded and will send me a free cleaning. 3rd Try: It's now been over a week since all of Austin's promises the previous week. I STILL DONT HAVE A REFUND. No email communication as promised. I honestly haven't had this poor of a transaction in decades. Spruce Cleaning sent us Nicole to give our house a much needed deep cleaning. I can't rave enough about Nicole and Spruce Cleaning. Nicole was respectful of our property and privacy. Our toilet bowls have never been whiter. I had recently hurt my back and had not been able to keep up with cleaning. Nicole dusted in places I hadn't gotten to in a long time. SCAM ALERT! I contacted Spruse to have a deep clean done of my house. From the start, I specified that my highest priority was to have my tile kitchen floors scrubbed clean. The day of the clean, I get a text from Austin, that the assigned cleaner had badly sprained their ankle and would it be ok to send someone else though they'd arrive late. I was fine with that, and Jackii arrived around 5:30 and put in a good 3 hours cleaning. She didn't get to the floor but told me they would be sending someone else out to finish up. The work she had done was solid, so I had no issue with the clean being split up. I was rescheduled for Sunday at 10am. Around 10:30am, another one of their cleaners, Jonathan, showed up. He told me he didn't even have the equipment to clean the floors as he expected another cleaner (the one with the sprained ankle) was going to meet him there. He calls Austin and tells me that he will clean what he can and they will schedule someone else to come out. This guy "worked" for about 2 hours, starting with the cleanest parts of the house and did a poor job of cleaning anything else. I contact Austin the next day, still thinking this company is going to finish the job it was contracted to do. Austin asks me what still needs to be done and I gave him a list. No response. I probe again with another text on getting schedule to finish up the cleaning that started on Friday of last week. It is now Tuesday. I get a response from him saying I needed to pay for another 2 hour clean on their website. I pointed out again that the floors had been my number one priority from the beginning and I was not going to pay more for what was in my initial request. Especially when the workers they send aren't even equipped to clean what was originally requested. No response from Austin after that. Apparently happy to take my money for a job not completed and cut ties. I would file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau, but while their website says they are accredited with the BBB, you will not find their company listed on the BBB website. Paid for 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, 1 kitchen deep clean. Nor did I receive the 6 hours I paid for. To recap, Jackie came out first and worked alone for about 3 hours on Friday 7/10. Then Jon came out and "worked" for 2 hours alone on Sunday without the necessary equipment. That's only 5 hours and not the 6 plus 3 extra "free" hours that Austin is claiming. As it is, I will have to pay another house cleaning company to do a deep clean, as all house cleaning companies require that prior to regularly scheduled cleaning. And to clear up this claim that I never responded to him, since Austin included his cell number, I'm including the screen caps from our text conversation with timestamps showing that he never responded, and did not suggest additional cleaning till after the second visit. If anyone would have suggested that additional cleaning charges would have been required before hand, I would have been amenable to that. First want to say 5 out of 5 stars for Lorenzo, who was my cleaner. He did a great job! Reason I'm giving 3 stars is management issues. The scheduling was a headache, and I paid for a deep cleaning but never got one. I scheduled my appointment on Sunday and Austin reached out to me saying they needed to reschedule because my assigned cleaner had covid symptoms. Totally understandable. He told me in an email that Meriah would be able to come Tuesday morning at 8am. On Monday night, I get a text from Marisol saying she's coming with one other person and wants to come at 11 instead and that the cleaning would only take one hour because it's split between the two of them. I questioned that and asked if that 1 hour was enough for a deep cleaning. She said there was no mention of a deep clean at all. A third person, Lorenzo, tells me he's on his way around 8:30 am on Tuesday. It was just very all confusing to see who was coming. As for the deep clean, Austin called me and said that I should apply the coupon for a deep clean in the comment section and book a regular cleaning. That's exactly what I did. Apparently it does not show up on the cleaners' schedules, which is not their fault; it's whoever does the scheduling. All in all, the regular cleaning was good, but it's so hard to get in touch with management or get any straight answers. This whole process gave me a huge headache. read more

I really don't want to write a negative review especially since the owner was very helpful during my booking process. I scheduled a 3 hour deep clean at 1pm. I receive a text from Marisol that she's running late and will arrive by 3:10pm instead. Ok that's fine. She arrives at 3:10pm with her partner and I get out of their way so they can work. My small house isn't a new house. I'm really not expecting much. At 4:57pm she sends me a text that she is leaving and that they did as much as they can. I arrive after she leaves and I come to find not much has been done. Nothing that was stated in my yelp quote. It was literally the bare minimum. None of the appliances we cleaned inside (fridge, oven, cabinets, etc) , the floor wasn't cleaned and the windows and/or sills weren't touched. What they did do in less then 2 hours, they wiped down the counters, stove top, bathroom sinks, cleaned the toilets and swept the floor. I used this service fairly regularly for over a year. While they are not perfect, I still give then four stars for good customer service and fair pricing. The main things to keep in mind here are that scheduled windows are loose estimates. In the dozens of appointments I had, it was kind of rare for a tech to show up at the promised time (most true if you request a late appointment). They still showed up tho, so it's not a huge deal. In all of my appointments, only the last one had actual damage -- which isn't the end of the world, but is notable. In my move-out appointment, the tech broke a porcelain dish without telling us (we were in the next room and could both hear and see it) or acknowledging it. Ideally, it would have been nice if she either did not break it or at least acknowledged the error. Otherwise, the standard is pretty high. The prices are fair. You can book online. It's the best deal in the area, as far as I'm concerned. read more

What a nightmare! Nearly everything that could have gone wrong did go wrong. I hired Spruse to do a move-in cleaning of an empty condo that I'm moving into. Started with the cleaner not showing up on time. The day before my appointment, Austin told me that the cleaner(s) would arrive "at 9am sharp". At 915am, I still hadn't heard from anyone and started to try to contact Austin. After about 45 minutes of trying to reach Austin (the owner) by phone, he texted me at 10am to tell me that the cleaner had a flat tire and was on her way, and that a second cleaner would be sent so that they would not fall behind. He then told me that due to the current coronavirus situation, their start time was now 10am. However, I spoke to him on the phone the day prior and he never mentioned this and said that the cleaner(s) would arrive at "9am sharp". Someone should have contacted me to tell me that no one would arrive before 10am. Instead, I waited in the lobby of my building for 2.5 hours before anyone arrived. At 11:30am the first cleaner (Jacki - the Regional Manager) finally arrived with a filthy vacuum full of debris from the last job. She was not wearing a mask or gloves, even though Austin claimed that the policy is that they should be wearing them (given the current Coronavirus situation). I called Austin to advise him of this, and he told me that he would make sure the cleaners wore masks and gloves. Unfortunately, this just didn't happen. I told Austin about the filthy vacuum, and he claimed that they don't clean them out before each use as it can ruin the vacuum. I told him that as a customer, it doesn't look good and he agreed to have Jacki clean it out saying "I can see how during these times that may worry some". At almost 1pm, the 2nd cleaner (Mariah) finally showed up. She had been given the wrong address by Austin. She also arrived with a dirty vacuum. When I went back up to my condo with Mariah, Jacki was not wearing a mask and I asked her to put it on, and she basically gave me the cold shoulder. The entire time she was there, I never saw her wearing both the mask and gloves as I had requested. Somewhere between 1pm and 130pm a third cleaner showed up (did not get his name). I had to go out for a while, and when I returned, all three cleaners were gone, so I did not get the chance to review their work with them. I inspected their work, and was very disappointed. I ran my finger over floorboards and countertops and they were still dirty. The light fixture in the bathroom still had dust all over the top. The vents in both bathrooms, which I specifically asked to be cleaned, were still full of dust. The toilet in the master bath was still dirty. Stains on the wall that I had pointed out were still there. A drain screen full of hair was left on my kitchen counter. A shelf in the shower was still filthy. I'm shocked that with 3 cleaners, so much was missed and things were not cleaned thoroughly. I texted Austin well into the evening, sending him pictures of all of the deficiencies. He said that he would send another cleaner out the next day for 1.5 hours at no extra charge. At no time during our hours of texting did he apologize for the poor quality of the 3 cleaners. The next day, a new cleaner, Shawn, showed up (on time) to complete the job. He was awesome. He was friendly, conscientious, and did not give me any attitude about wearing a mask and gloves. He went above and beyond to ensure that I was happy with his work, even pointing out some deficiencies of the other cleaners that I had missed! Shawn was the silver lining to an otherwise horrible experience. Even though Shawn did a great job, I can't recommend Spruse as the rest of my experience was disappointing and frustrating. Excellent cleaning service at an affordable price. I get the monthly clean for my one-bedroom apartment, and every single time, my place is left spotless. Lorenzo was courteous, wore a mask, and did an excellent job on my latest clean. My only complaint is that almost every single time, the cleaner has arrived late -- generally by about 15-30 min, but sometimes up to a couple hours, including one no-show. Really tried to work with these folks unfortunately I would give it 0 stars if possible. I originally booked for a deep house cleaning bi monthly service. in prep for family coming i to town. First appt, no call no show. After receiving "confirmed" robotic emails saying cleaner will be there. Then I was charged after being told comp service. Had to contact them again to get my money back. Outside of the actual cleaners, unfortunately the company has some issues with scheduling reliability, possibly due to shortages but the end result is missed appointments and arrival times usually 1-2 hours later than the window. Email support is good, day-of communications for ETA needs improvement, as I can't plan around the cleaning window with any reliability. I really hate giving bad reviews, but my experience was so out of the ordinary that I needed to say...something. Very long story short: the two times I used/attempted to use this service, they were 2.5 and 5.5 hours late without any accurate updates or explanations. The one cleaning we were able to get was very professional and well done, but the lateness was not cool. I understand that things happen, but improved communication would've greatly helped. My first experience was last fall when my boyfriend needed a move out cleaning - I do love that booking is super easy, and they were flexible when we needed to tweak our schedule. We scheduled for 5-8:00 pm - my boyfriend couldn't get off work, so I adjusted my schedule to meet them. As 5:00 came and went and my vodka sodas piled up, around 5:45 we were told they were "almost there." Traffic was bad, so no biggie. Eventually my boyfriend arrived, more time passed, and at 6:30 we received the same assurance. Finally, at 7:45 (15 minutes before they were supposed to finish), one person arrived. Because of the delay, they sent a second to help. The clean itself was fantastic - they were friendly and professional, and they moved as fast as they could. Although they didn't finish until 10:30, we were ultimately really pleased with the job they did. Fast forward a couple months, and now it's my apartment that needs cleaned before we make a big move to the Midwest. It was already stressful, so we went ahead and booked them again after the great clean they did before. We scheduled it for 9-noon on our last day in Seattle, but we had to get out of town immediately afterwards to get to an event in Portland that night. We agreed that there was no way that would happen again. MY WE WERE MISTAKEN. As we frantically packed that morning, we kept checking the clock and were floored. Once again, an hour after the scheduled start time no one had shown up, and this time we received no update or explanation (nor any response when we called/texted). At 11:30 we gave up, stressed out of our minds and needing to get on the road. I left my apartment without a full cleaning - still waiting to see how much of that deposit I'll get back, but that's my fault I suppose. We ordered a deep clean of our 2 bedroom apartment and had 3 cleaners arrive. We were VERY happy with the service of 1 of the cleaners LORENZO. LORENZO IS THE MAN. Cannot recommend him highly enough. The other 2 cleaners, Marisol and her partner, apparently tried to leave after a quick once over. A deep clean is supposed to be 2.5 - 3 hrs, and they left after just 1. Lorenzo stayed behind and made sure we were happy with the job. We ended up having to ask Lorenzo to go back over many spots the other 2 were responsible for. They left behind several cleanable, sticky spots on the floor and walls. Bottom line, the apartment is clean and we are happy. Docked a star because the service was inconsistent. Cleaner didn't show up. A week ago, I scheduled 5-7pm cleaning (bi-weekly afterwards). After reading many reviews saying that cleaners don't show up, I called 2 days in advance to confirm my appointment. Today, on the day of scheduled cleaning, I got a phone call 3:40pm saying that he's running late because "oven cleaning got scheduled" all of a sudden and he can be here at 7pm or another day. I explained that we have an open house for new tenants tomorrow morning so I need this cleaning, and 7pm works. I moved around dinner plan accordingly. 5:20pm, he messages that now his car got a boot and can't make it. There was a confusion caused by them and cleaner arrived the day after. It must be tough to work with so many people. So I recommend you to confirm a day before by text. They were honest and very responsive. Lorena did a great job cleaning my slightly cluttered one bedroom. It was a deep clean, but only one person came; so three hours including oven and inside of windows, Lorena did her best. And the result was orderly clean smelling and fairly clean apartment. For the price this is the best service available. If you ask I am sure they can accommodate your request for more detailed cleaning. read more

I was not impressed with the cleaning. I had paid for a "pretty dirty" (extra charge) deep cleaning and while it smelled nice and the floors were mopped, the cleaning was not very thorough or deep. The baseboards were not done as promised and the top of the refrigerator wasn't cleaned. I expected more completeness to the work given the price I paid ($250 for a 700 sq ft townhome). read more

Disappointing experience. I live in a small studio which I keep clean, but wanted someone to come by monthly to do a deeper cleaning of the bathroom, sink, etc.. Spruse quoted me $70 for a 2-hour clean. I kept going with the service for 3 months. Each time it was a new person with varying results. The third cleaning was really bad; there's no way they spent more than 20 minutes on it. I took photos and sent them to the company asking to cancel. No apology and they just ignored my e-mail. The positive reviews must just be from people who got lucky with more diligent cleaners assigned to their apartments. I'd pay more and go with a company with more consistent reviews. *I appreciate Austin (the business owner) responding to this review within 15 minutes of me posting it, but it's frustrating that it took a negative review to get an answer and he didn't seem to care when it was private e-mails.
