This restaurant has a relaxed, laid-back coastal vibe that makes it a great stop. Calamari and oysters are almost always my go-to whenever I'm near the coast, so we had to order both. We tried the butter garlic oysters, though I didn't really taste the butter or garlic. Even so, the oysters were enjoyable. The fries were perfectly crispy, just the way I like them, and the calamari was tender, flavorful, and well seasoned. They have a good amount of food selection. Our food arrived quickly, and both the server and cashier were warm and friendly.

I've tried almost all the fish & chips in bodega bay. And I'm telling you, this place has the BEST. Get the halibut. It's 10x better (higher quality fish than tilapia/ cod)

10/10. Fisherman's Cove is SO good. Great beer, great food, and I'm not even hungry anymore and somehow I still want more. I've been coming here since back when it was basically a tackle shop that sold sandwiches, and it's awesome to see what it's become. Also, the guy working up front today deserves a raise. Whatever he's making, it's not enough. Super friendly, great service, and just made the whole experience even better. Seriously, 10/10. We'll definitely be back.

Let's get another order of BBQ Oysters!

A year later, I returned with my friend Jayneen for a girls' trip, and this spot was just as amazing as I remembered! The BBQ oysters are an absolute must-order. There are so many delicious flavor options to choose from, and each one was packed with flavor. We also ordered the halibut fish and chips, which were outstanding. The coating was perfectly crispy, and the fish was flaky, fresh, and cooked to perfection. My friends chose the halibut fish tacos, which looked amazing and are a great lighter, healthier option. Since we were celebrating, I decided to splurge and order a bottle of bubbly. They offer a smaller bottle for around $50, but I got the standard bottle for $90, but it was the perfect addition to our meal and made the occasion feel extra special. The food, atmosphere, and beautiful Bodega Bay setting make this a place I would gladly return to again and again. If you're visiting the Bodega Bay area, this is definitely a must-stop destination!

Stopped at Fisherman's Cove on our way out of town to grab a bite to eat. When we first drove by, the lines were super long, but by the time we got there they had shortened quite a bit, and the line moves really fast anyway. The employee helping us was super nice and had such a good vibe. We ordered the lobster roll sandwich, clam chowder, and the garlic butter oysters. Everything tasted super fresh and was so good. The clam chowder was especially different in the best way it had this smoky flavor I've never had before, and it was absolutely delicious.

    Crab sandwich

Only tried the crab sandwich here so that's all I can review but would be interested in coming back for some of the other food. The sandwich is expensive at $30 but was pretty decently sized and had a generous portion of crab in it. The ciabatta bread was buttery and not soggy but could be toastier. There were large chunks of crab inside and it tasted very fresh. MUCH better than the crab sandwich next door, minimal line and super friendly staff. The fish and chips looked really good. Definitely would come back for the crab sandwich in the future!

    Shrimp po'boy

We had the fresh, local salmon -grilled as Salmon and chips. The salmon was absolutely delicious. The portion was big. People commented on the fries and I questioned how different fries could be, but I was wrong. The fries were crisp on the outside and creamy in the middle. So good. I had a shrimp po'boy that was good. People raved about the chowder- it was flavorful with loads of clams. A little thinner than my favorite. Overall we enjoyed our lunch. Counter staff was friendly and helpful. The cook came to see how we enjoyed our food and told us how the owner obtains the fresh salmon from local fishermen. It sits just across the road from the marina filled with fishing boats and sailboats. We would highly recommend this little place.

I just had the BEST fish n' chips in a long time!! Fish was fresh and flaky, batter was light and crispy! And it was served piping hot! Cashier Ash greeted everyone like a special guest. Ambiance was perfect!

Crab sandwich + fish and chips

Lunch at Fisherman's Cove was great start to a weekend road trip! Driving oceanside, you can't help but want a crab sandwich and fish and chips. That's what my boyfriend and I ordered, and were satisfied (not to mention fueled for our hike that afternoon). I agree with other reviews that say it's pricey for what you get, but you'll still have a satisfying meal. The crab sandwich is real fresh, I kinda wish they toasted the bread, but would still recommend it. It came with a few slices of carrot that seemed random IMO, but still ate it. Also, you can't go wrong with the fish and chips! Service was straight-forward - you order and pay at the counter, then take your number to seat where your food is delivered. Most people were sitting outside on the benches, which is where you wanna be, especially on a sunny day with a view of the water. But there are also chairs and tables inside. Parking can be tight around here. The lot outside the restaurant is very small, and the street/back parking signs can be confusing. (There were cars parking in zones clearly marked with "No Parking" signs.)

    Rob D.

Tight parking in the lot but parking on the street throughout the area. Short line to order moved fast. Grabbed a dozen oysters, shrimp po boy and the halibut fish and chips. All were excellent with the fish and chips standing out in my opinion. The halibut was a nice change to the cod fish and chips most places offer. I'd return for sure!

Fried oysters with fries and garlic aioli (?)
    Mark K.

Every once in a while, I go to a restaurant that knows how to do it. This was one of those places. It's not the fanciest place, but it's perfect for a fishing town. They have seating inside and outside. My mother had been craving fried oysters so I took her here. For some reason, not many places have fried oysters. I think this was the only place in the Bodega Bay area. Not sure why that is. Anyway, the oysters were 5 stars for my mom. They came with a dipping sauce. I think it was the garlic aioli. I ordered the chicken sandwich special that comes with chipotle aioli. I traded that for the garlic aioli. It was loaded with thin slices of chicken breast. I'm not sure what type of bread they used, but it was perfect for the sandwich. When we first ordered, it was Ash who took our order. He's so energetic and friendly. He is part of what makes this place special. They have an attention to detail and service that reminds of the Garden Cafe in San Rafael. I will be back even though I have to drive all the way from Novato. :)

Came on a Saturday evening and wait time was about 15-20 minutes. You find your own table and wait to hear them call out your name for the order. I also liked that when you order a drink, you can pay $3 extra to keep a souvenir cup (and you can even request a new unused cup at the end too! So you don't have to worry about taking home a cup with remnants of beer or other beverages inside). The sauce bar has 5 different sauces, but my favorite was the Maui Wowie. I thought they all complemented the fish and chips really well! We got kale slaw instead of chips as the side, and it was a nice refreshing side to have -- it really cuts through the greasiness from the fry! I thoroughly enjoyed everything we tried: clam chowder, fried fish, and crab sandwich. There's definitely other things on the menu I'd like to try as well! I also love all the merch they have inside. Hats, towels, aprons, shirts, etc...the design team really creates great designs! I went home with a tshirt and some magnets, along with a "fish dad" hat as a gift. As a pro tip, if you stay nearby at Hotel Dega, it's walkable distance and then you don't need to worry about parking!

We eventually arrived there around 12:45 PM. Spud Point is a cute little shack right across from the harbor, but the parking is terrible so keep that in mind. We waited in line for about 5 minutes and ordered two clam chowder soups which were $9.99 each, one crab sandwich which was $21.98 and one seafood sandwich which was $19.99. Menu is pretty limited and no fish and chips. They immediately provided the food so I assume they were pre-prepared in the back and you could see the pots of soup boiling outside. We brought our dog as there are only outdoor picnic tables to sit at, but there seemed to always be a spot open. There were also benches across the street overlooking the bay where you could hear the harbor seals barking, to view the fishing boats. The clam chowder was very good, one of the best I've ever, had not too thick with a lot of cut up smaller clams and a bacon flavor. There's only one size which could be split with two people, and we still have leftovers. The sandwiches on the other hand are incredibly small and served on almost a hot dog looking bun. You definitely need one for each person as it would be too small to split. I am used to the crab sandwiches at Nick's Rockaway in Pacifica, which are absolutely delicious and feed two people for about $42. The crab sandwich (1/8 lb) here was very fresh and the seafood sandwich (1/4 lb half bay shrimp and 1/4 lb half crab) was also very good. I believe the owner has his own fishing boat and he catches the seafood and fish daily as there was also halibut for sale in market shelf. Weather was cold and foggy as is normal in Bodega Bay. I would definitely recommend this place for anyone if you were in the area, but I would try either Fisherman's Cove or Ginocchio's next time for the crab sandwich if you wanted something more hearty.
