We went here on the last day of our short weekend visit. I'm SOO glad I found this place. Can't say enough good things. The service was phenomenal, the lady who took and worked on our order was maybe the owner? I heard other customers call her Joy? The name is very fitting because the was such a nice and sweet person. I saw her accommodating people's special requests and did it with a smile. The food smelled so good that when I got in the car I forgot to take a photo and just scarfed it down. I forgot to take a photo!! Lol. Hazelnut coffee blend was SOO GOOD!! I also ordered a ham, egg and cheese on a garlic bagel sandwich that was literally the BEST bagel sandwich I have ever had. The bagel was toasted perfectly, not too hard, not too soft. The bagel was fresh and fragrant. She cooked the egg perfectly and put the sandwich together perfectly as well. All the flavors were so good. I got two donuts: maple round donut and blueberry cake donut. Both were light, fluffy and fresh. We also got 2 coffees and she was kind Enough to brew a batch of hazelnut blend because I asked if they had any. There was an older lady who was working really hard and was sweet and adorable. The other worker was a guy... he was polite and respectful to everyone. The place was very clean and I appreciate their covid safety precautions. You could tell they really care about their business and customers alike. I wish there was a shop like this where we live :( Go and support them! You won't regret it. I Was leaving Santa Barbara and heading back to Oregon when we stopped to get a Togo breakfast. This place was absolutely amazing everything looked so delicious I ended up getting the milk tea, donut holes, and a toasted bagel. I've got to say a lot of people on here say the bagels aren't "real bagels" in their reviews and it is different than any bagel I've ever had but in a good way! The bagel was crispy on the outside and softer inside. It was so fresh and wonderful I wish I would've come here everyday on my trip. The service was also amazing the lady working the counter was so nice, my mom is gf and df and asked the lady if she could make her a smoothie without the milk and combining piña colada and mango, she said she'd never mixed them but would be happy too and took extra care for my moms allergies. Overall great place it's a nice little place with tons of options for drinks, bagels and donuts, would highly recommend coming here for any of the above. read more

Recently moved to the area and had my first experience in this donut shop this week. I got a dozen donuts and two breakfast sandwiches. It was all very delicious and based on the previous reviews, very much expected. The lady who was managing the shop was very pleasant and kind, seemed to really appreciate customers' business and I would definitely come back. This place seems to be a staple and everyone's go-to donut shop in the Santa Barbara area. Agree with a previous reviewer that although it's nothing fancy, the donuts are made fresh and there's a lot of variety. Can't every go wrong with a classic glazed donut either. I do recommend that if you're going to get. a breakfast sandwich, get it on a croissant. The bagels in California unfortunately will never measure up to the ones that you can get from NY or the Northeast coast. Nonetheless, my bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich did not disappoint! Come early or all the good stuff will be gone! Run by the sweetest old lady, they make their bagels and donuts on site every morning. This is the first family-run donut shop I've seen that also sells lottery tickets/ scratchers and boba alongside danishes, egg sandwiches, croissants, and other pastries. Made from potato flour, it gives these donuts a chewier, bouncier, fluffier taste (or it could just be my imagination). The chocolate donut holes are my favorite thing to get here but they always seem to be sold out after 10 am. One of the best lox bagels I've ever had. The bagel was fresh, warm, toasted, soft, yet chewy, and had a nice crust on the outside. Everything I want in a good bagel. It's also the type that can be flattened and is not too bulky or dense. Everything else including the lox, onions, cream cheese, and capers were all good too, but the highlight really was that bagel. I also had the maple chocolate chip square which was buttery, flakey, soft, chewy, and had a nice chocolate filling surprise too. Highly recommend this place! read more

On the hunt for an apple fritter & came across this place. Saw the pictures and was so excited to see they had a maple cro-dough/cronut so my friend picked that up for me the first day. Got to visit the 2nd day and shared an Apple fritter (bear claw?), ham & cheese breakfast sandwich & an iced/blended mocha. EVERY SINGLE THING HERE was delicious & the owner Kahn was super sweet & we loved chatting with her. This place feels so welcoming and the locals love it. As we sat waiting for our order, we saw customer after customer come in and greet the owner like an old friend. The owner is genuinely friendly (with everyone) and the food is fresh and delicious. She took her time to cut the tomatoes and to wrap our sandwiches neatly. The only doughnut shop I've ever been to that serves doughnuts AND sells lottery scratchers/regular lottery tickets. Family run doughnut shop with the sweetest people around. The grandmother, her daughter & the three grandchildren are ever present with their big smiles. They always have piping hot assorted flavors of coffee freshly brewed. Their doughnut assortment is great. Fritters, maple bars, cheese danishes, almond pastries, regular doughnuts, croissants and they make egg sandwiches. We always stop in to pickup a dozen before heading to the care facility & passing them out to the nurses. Everyone always raves about the doughnuts. Back in SB to visit my daughter... wish they had this place when I lived here 40 years ago!!.. the donuts are great for sure but what I discovered as truly awesome are their breakfast sandwiches... a jalapeno + cheddar bagel + bacon + egg + cheese + tomato + onion became my favorite... came back multiple times during my stay for one of those... my vegetarian + gluten free daughter even thought the sandwich smelled yummy! The staff is so friendly and accommodating... one day when they were out of the jalapeno + cheddar bagels, she chopped up some jalapenos and added them to the sandwich with a cheddar cheese bagel instead... not quite the same but certainly quite yummy and enjoyable too. This is the cutest, yummiest, fairest priced donut shop in town. All bakery goods are fresh and baked to perfection. The custard/jelly filled donuts are actually filled AFTER you pick out your donut; which I've actually never had before but can only imagine that made my custard donut that much more fresh and delicious! My strawberry banana smoothie was refreshing, healthy, smooth and sweet. So, I had a very specific order for my wedding for the Carrillo location. I won't damper this review with the negative details of that order, but the point is order was confirmed twice and they didn't have the order the day of. Anyway, I called this location in a panic for 150 donuts same day (called around 7am for a pickup time of 11am) and they were able to do it for me. The girl who took the order even apologized for the other location which she wasn't even involved in. While I wasn't able to get the specific order I wanted due to the Carrillo location's terrible communication, this State St. location really helped me out. Also, the donuts were delicious! I was in Santa Barbara with a friend and wanted to hit up a donut spot before we left and I'm so glad we decided to go here! As soon as we entered, we were warmly greeted by all employees and you could immediately sense the warmth and love in this place. Despite having a couple of Spudnuts between me and this location, this is definitely the one to visit. Everyone working here is really nice and welcoming, and the donuts are very fresh. There are also a lot of places to sit and relax while you have your donuts. The coffee is traditional donut shop coffee, and I'm glad I can go somewhere to get some hazelnut coffee. I went here on the recommendation of my friend. Thankfully, I was able to visit a couple of times before my friend moved out of town.
