Visited tonight and very disappointed in the server. I know everyone is busy but it was such poor service it ruined the meal/experience. Forgot our drinks several times, no offer on additional drinks. No asking how is everything. No telling us that there was a up charge to the French onion soup. Pretty much sat, order placed and never seen again til the end. The other server asking their customer if they wanted cheese or red pepper nope not ours. The food was decent, the French onion soup had way to much bread like the whole bowl. Would i visit again is a maybe but def would not want the server again and im not one to pick apart things. read more

I ordered a cup of house salad, baked stuffed mushrooms appetizer and Sausage, Meatballs and Peppers Parmigiana for my meal. The salad was nice and fresh the Italian dressing could've used a tiny bit more vinegar. The stuffed mushrooms were cooked perfect but I couldn't really taste no crabmeat just ritz crackers. The sausage and meatballs were good I will request more gravy next time. I wanted shrimp scampi but changed my mind when I saw they had Spumoni's shrimp. Jenna was my waitress and I am trying to figure out why I saw bread on every table but mine. I'm still trying to figure out why I didn't have any bread. This is an Italian family ambiance and it was very packed for a Tuesday night. P.S. I know some are gonna wonder why I didn't ask for bread. I came here once before a couple years ago and had their pizza and seafood pasta. I left wanting more of the pasta and decided to come back with my family. I was a bit disappointed with the quality of the food this time around. Per usual, the parking lot was almost full. It was busy inside but there were tables available and we were seated at a booth immediately. Our waitress was really kind and patient with us since we were a bit indecisive. Atlas, we made our decision; we ordered a shrimp spumoni, a tour of Tuscany, and a tour of Sicily. We were a bit disappointed by the shrimp spumoni. The garlic butter tasted a lot like theater popcorn butter and there was a lot of it. We also didn't realize the tomatoes would almost be raw. There were about 8 medium shrimp, and that was the best part. The tours were good, but seeing that the plates were hot, I have a feeling some of the items might have been microwaved so I cannot say it was authentic. My favorite part was the fettucine alfredo since the pasta was cooked perfectly and it had a right amount of creamy alfredo. I did appreciate that it came with a soup or salad. Well, here we are... more than a decade later and I'm updating my review. Unfortunately my experience this time was starkly different. Came in for lunch today and ordered the Chicken Parm lunch special. The portion is comically small. Seriously, I could have devoured this thing in three bites. But the portion isn't even the main crime. What the hell on earth happened to the sauce?? The marinara I remember from a decade ago is completely gone. What they're serving now tastes like grocery-store jarred Prego! Artificial, chemical-tasting, and loaded with that "Italian seasoning" flavor. I couldn't even finish the whole thing. The only bright spot was our server! She was genuinely warm, funny, and attentive. Easily the best part of the visit and the only reason this isn't a one-star across the board. Spumoni's clearly cut every corner they can on food quality. I mean, you're an Italian American restaurant! Your bread and butter is that red sauce. If you don't have that nailed down. Food was pretty decent. I went with a bunch of people from work and we split some apps to start. I liked the calamari Giovanni ($16) and the bruschetta ($9.50). Went here several weeks ago and got the Grandpas seafood favorite and the Giovani Calamari. Everything was delicious and the service was very fast. Portion size is amazing here. I think this calamari is arguably one of the best in Rhode Island. The restaurant decor is modern and has nostalgic photos. This is the first time here and the food was fantastic. I got the spumoni Italian pupu plater; meatballs, sausage, peppers, manicotti and cheese ravioli with an amazing homemade sauce. Ordered through grub hub. Received meal. Bought and Paid for chicken Parmesan. Orders and paid extra for extra sauce. Got small pieces of cold breaded chicken tons of cheese minimal sauc. (selected spaghetti online) got no pasta at all. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who said "no pasta was selected" on the order they received. It was checked off, I checked the box for spaghetti. What about the extra sauce? Which was also selected and clearly shows this on the order. Either a glitch in their computer system or orders aren't being processed correctly. "We will send you a gift card if grub hub doesn't reimburse you." Awfully nice of them to offer this, but hey? what about me being really hungry tonight and having very little to eat? Not pleased at all. Second strike. Such a great restaurant! I can't remember how many years ago my dad took me. I happened to be in the area with my niece tonight and decided to stop. It all starts when you walk through the door. The staff that greeted and seated us were very friendly. The decor, and flowers throughout the restaurant really added to the ambiance. Lots of great Italian and seafood choices on the menu. Our waitress Malia was great! She promptly took our drink order, we both got Shirley Temples and brought us bread with soft butter. The menu stated they came in fresh daily. We decided to get a couple of pounds. They were some of the best steamers that we have had. I grew up around the ocean and have been eating steamers for over 20 years and these were right up there with the best I have had. My niece got a delicious plate of Fettuccine Alfredo. I had the Baked Seafood Platter. This had two jumbo stuffed shrimp. At least four large sea scallops, scrod and a stuffed quohog in the middle. The stuffing was a Ritz cracker base with lemon. All of the seafood was moist and cooked perfectly! As a cook, I was impressed. They give you melted butter and lemon wedges if you want to drizzle it over the plate. I did, it was delicious! My husband and I were seated in a booth near a round table. Shortly after our dinner was served a family of 5 with 3 children roughly 1, 5 & 7 were seated at the round table. The children were completely untrained - running around, screaming for the sake of its sound, jumping in the seats, etc. Because we could not hear one another speak, we complained to our server, who completely understood and said she would advise management. Eventually management came to our table, asked how everything was. When I began to tell her, she picked up some dishes and walked away. Many surrounding families were also making comments to us about the older 2 children's behavior. We used to be weekly customers, but no more. Not only was this family outrageous, but Spumoni's consideration of their many other disturbed parties was worse. read more

This is a local favorite that has a family friendly environment. My husband and I sat at the bar, we were greeted with a smile from our server. Our server ensured our place seatings were clean, and took our drink order immediately. The bar was more than half full when we arrived at 8:30p. We were hungry so ordered right away, I was able to get a gluten free chicken parmigiana, and it was delectable. Highly recommended this for lunch or dinner, eat in or take out!! read more

The service was good. The food and drinks were mediocre at best. The clams appetizer was so so salty it was inedible. Making delicious fettucine alfredo is easy, but they didn't pull it off. My dad is an 89 year old veteran. He and mom went to Spumoni's on Veterans Day and he ordered meatballs and sausage. Get this... the two meatballs and 1 sausage were arranged in an OBSCENE and vulgar way on the plate. Service was Great, Food was Good, Rewards program is an absolute JOKE, don't be sucked in. they offer "2" Reward program 1 for take out and another for dine in. Just a FYI they are not able to combine any points you accrue, Long story short if you dine in you can't accrue any points on your take out or visa versa. read more

The Friday only clam chowder was a solid B+ nice and tasty. Clean and spacious restaurant when we got there it was a bit empty but once we left around 7pm it was jam packed. Our server was friendly and attentive, the price points are reasonable good food for the family. Spumonis gets the job done, went with the veal parm, the wife had the onion soup for an app she ate it all lol Everyone in our party was happy with their food, when we left the parking lot was full. We figured we would try the local place for a plain cheese pizza during yesterday's football games. That was a big mistake. It was probably one of the most tasteless pizzas I have ever eaten. We haven't been here in a while so figured it was time to go back and I was in the mood for chicken parm which is usually what I order when we go here. We were seated pretty quickly in the bar area as I requested. I noticed they had done it over new lighting and seating. It's actually a little too bright now in the dining room so I like it better in the bar area with a dimmer lighting and tvs. Our waitress got us some drinks and took our order. She brought the wrong soup my wife ordered but she just kept it and ate it anyway. I ordered the chicken parm it comes with soup or salad. I ordered the clam chowder it was ok I thought the potato's were hard and it was a little sandy. Our entrees came out quick the waitress dropped them off and walked away quickly without asking if we needed anything which I did a refill on my drink. The chicken parm looked delicious and it would have been perfect if it was just hot. It was just warm like they make it and put a bunch of it in trays and just bring it out when ordered so I take it that they keep it in warmers. I asked if they make it fresh because it wasn't hot she didn't answer my question just grabbed my plate and walked off I just asked them to warm it up. They brought out a new order which I didn't want a new order just the one I had warmed up. The new order was hot but unfortunately over fried so it was crunchy and dry. The fettuccine was hot and wasn't bad. She didn't offer and kind of comp like dessert or anything for the chicken parm being off twice. My wife ordered the tour of Italy. I believe it was the Sicilian. She said it was good, but she doesn't really complain much. I think this place is just mid not my favorite. read more

Been a long time since I've been to Spumoni's, guess for a good reason . Went on a Thursday & sat at the bar. Our bartender "Pat M" was extremely rude and very short with us , almost like she didn't want us there. Very bizarre like she was filling in and not a real bartender . Had to literally flag her down repeatedly from drinks to ordering food , she was very rude like if we were bothering her. Zero people skills on that woman. ( short haired ,older women Pat M ) . Beware before going there service was awful. Appetizer sampler was a good size but very basic at best quality food, tasted like food from the bowling alley. My guest ordered the Italian pu pu platter , she enjoyed it and was very large for the price so definitely a good value there. Drinks were 4/10, wine is wine but my dirty martini was missing the bite of brine. Overall building was in okay shape not sure if they have music or any events. read more
