DELICIOUS!! One of my favorite pasta places !!!! Who doesn't love a good pasta ? The sauce is sooo good!

I regret to say that our recent visit to this restaurant was disappointing due to the behavior of the hosting staff. From the moment we were seated behind the host stand, the hostess was very inappropriate. She was leaning on the desk in a way that was quite disrespectful, and this was off-putting for everyone seated behind her. As if that wasn't enough, in the middle of our meal--we were literally eating our entrée--the hostess approached us and asked my wife to move so she could see the table behind us. We were shocked--we were in the middle of eating! We pointed out that we were already seated and eating, and the request was highly inappropriate. She continued to insist, and at that point, we had to ask for the manager and the check. Overall, the entire experience left us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. We hope the management will address this, as the behavior we experienced was far from what we'd expect from any dining establishment. read more

My friend and I went to Pasta Beach for the first time on a Tuesday night around 5:45pm. It wasn't too busy so we got seated right away. The restaurant is very spacious and welcoming. A complimentary bread basket and olive oil was brought to our table. This is the third Pasta Beach location and since Pasta Beach is an ideal place for a taste of authentic Italian cooking in Rhode Island, we had to order pasta dishes. I ordered the Tagliatelle ai Funghi which had Champignon mushrooms, garlic, cream, and parsley. I really enjoyed the pasta, the mushrooms, and the creaminess. It was hearty and comforting. I would definitely get this again. My friend ordered the penne alla vodka arrabbiata and she really enjoyed it as well. I had the Bubble Over cocktail and it was yummy. For dessert, we had the cannoli and I really enjoyed the crispiness of the shell and the filling. Since we were celebrating my friend's birthday, they put a candle on the plate. A 2% Kitchen Appreciation fee is added to all guests checks that is 100% paid to the hardworking kitchen staff. Aria was our server and she was very friendly. Overall, the service was excellent and really made our dining experience memorable, from the host to our server to the staff cleaning our table. read more

Two of us went late evening for dinner. The place was noisy but cheerful. We started with good Margaritas accompanied by the pepper chips, light and tasty - it is something that I always order. We followed with a prosciutto pizza and wine. We don't normally have more one drink in the evening. For the first time we had the pistachio cream dessert- an excellent choice. The check came to $128 including taxes, to which we added a generous tip. Our server Janet T was very attentive and pleasant. We would recommend her highly. The service here is always great!! The staff is so friendly and accommodating and genuinely lovely. You can't go wrong with any of the pizzas but my personal favorite is the burrata with the hot honey pepperoni. The cacio e pepe was unfortunately raw tasting/doughy but not a big deal. I was so excited to finally try Pasta Beach and it really lived up to the hype! Like any good restaurant on the east side, there's street parking, so good luck. We managed a spot right across the street. A good sign! We were led upstairs by a cheery hostess. The place is well themed I would say, it's bright and has a modern timeless elevated Oceanside vibe if that makes sense. We ordered drinks, got bread with oil, and ordered our pasta. My pomegranate drink was good, the tagliatelle au funghi was excellent, and the conversation was great. Perhaps service was a little on the slow side, but no big deal. I've been to all their locations numerous times and the ambiance is fresh and clean with an open floor plan and neutral green tones. It's a cute spot for a lunch or dinner date. The area is nice with local shops around. I came here for lunch and the restaurant was very quiet, with only 4 tables but I had to go to up to the hostess to put my order in. We barely saw our sever and I was bummed because their good food outweighed their poor service. This place really could have been such a hit if service was better. With the price point, you really expect more. The hostess actually took over for the waitress because it was so evident in the lack of attention. Because there was such a lack in service I would just go back to the Newport location next time. I got the Kale Caesar as a starter and it had crushed croutons. The Caesar was a nice app and I got extra dressing on the side. The bolognese was great, the pasta was aldente and cooked perfect. Great spot for a girls night out! Good food, good vibes, tasty drinks. The dishes are priced in the $20 range, which is on par for Providence dining. My table ordered the Burrata Caprese to share. The Marinated grape tomatoes were delicious and the burrata was perfectly creamy. For my meal, I ordered the Paccheri Ricotta e Pomodorini. The Paccheri was cooked al dente which I prefer, and the rich ricotta sauce complimented the sweet Pomodorini tomatoes perfectly. The portion was just enough, I was able to clean my plate feeling completely satisfied. Our waitress was very nice, but we did not see our drinks for at least 30+ minutes after ordering. It was definitely busy, 6:00pm on a Saturday, so we chalked it up to that factor. I will be back to try some other dishes, but will keep in mind to try a less busy time of the day. With a full restaurant and upbeat music, it gets very loud and hard to have a conversation without shouting a bit. read more

Super cute little place with an elevated Golden Girls vibe. Hear me out... the wallpaper in my vantage point last night was large palm leaves and just made me think of the girls! But more modern... Small bottles of the sweetest moscato, yes! The goat cheese Brussels sprouts with guancile... Ohhh so delicious. The melted goat cheese seeped into the crevices of the layer of the Brussels sprouts and then the flavor of the granite. It's is such a great pairing. Highly suggest this app! Also tried the caprese bruchetta. This was not bruchetta in my opinion. It was sliced mini tomatoes in oil served in a bowl with a slab of burrata with aliced white bread on the side. I like.my bruchetta toasted with balsalmic. This was just to basic. Lacking glavor and too heavy for their soft bread. The penne with vodka sauce was recommended but the server but it has a kick to it that I don't wa t when I go for vodka sauce. I added a pice of breaded chixken but it was too thin and hard to cut. 2 mini cannolis but it was extra chocolate in the stuffing (think a lite brown cream color with mini chocolate chips.) Checked this spot out with my friends for their restaurant week deal with a wine pairing. While the company and vibes were excellent, the food was unfortunately lackluster. The salad was fine but not memorable, the ribs were slightly too fatty/gristly, and the beef ziti made up for a lack of sauce with too much salt. The passion fruit panna cotta was one of the highlights of the evening as we appreciated the bright and zesty burst of flavor. The limoncello served with dessert was unfortunately disappointing as it was room temperature, too saccharine, and lacked acidity to balance out the drink. Pasta Beach did a great job for New Years Eve dinner. My boyfriend and I went for an early meal and Pasta Beach did a great job with timing of dishes and service, even on a holiday. We started with the Amatriciana pizza and I got a main of the Lasagna Bolognese. The Amatriciana is so good. The salty flavor from the meet and the delightfully fluffy crust make this an excellent choice. The restaurant had low lighting for the occasion, and was not overly packed while we were there. The waiters and waitresses are always so kind and helpful with advice on what to try. The pasta and pizzas are delicious and so fresh. The inside is clean with a somewhat nautical vibe and in the summer it all opens to the sidewalk for fresh air and a European feel in the middle of Wayland Square. I feel bad writing this, because the staff here is always really nice! However, I've been three times now and I've noticed the same issues every time. The menu is massively overpriced (in my opinion) for the quality and quantity of the food. I had the calamari which was amazing, but $20. My penne alla vodka ($22, no meat) was decent, but my partner said that his bolognese (also around 22 bucks) tasted like spaghetti o's . The portions aren't large either (you won't have any to bring home) which makes the price harder to justify. The service is also consistently on the slower side and oddly timed; one person in our party got their food approx 10 minutes before everyone else., Lastly, the layout of the restaurant is really tight, to the point of feeling a bit claustrophobic and awkward. read more

Overall a wonderful night out and we will be back! The food was amazing, the ambiance was unique, and the food came out quickly. Our only concerns were around the restaurant temperature (too cold!), timeliness of service (too long!), and the drinks (not great) - but the food is so delicious we would be back regardless! Ambiance - 9.8/10 Fabulous ambiance. The aesthetic is very pleasing and chic. However, it is freezing! Make sure to wear layers. Service - 8/10 It took a while to be initially served which set the tone for the evening. The service was pretty average and we had to flag someone down a couple times when we needed napkins, etc. Food - 10/10 Everything was phenomenal. Across the 4 of us dining, we ordered 2 apps, 4 entrees, and 3 desserts. For apps - the fried calamari and shrimp was lovely. The shrimp was a great addition to a classic dish. We also ordered the bruschetta which was fresh and flavorful. For entrees - the marinara had a perfect sauce to pasta ratio. The sauce was amazing, very flavorful. The salmon was served with a homemade dill tartar sauce. It was the hit of dinner! Lastly, the two of us ordered the bucatini carbonara. The sauce was creamy and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Our only comment was that the bacon was listed as "crispy" on the menu and it was far from that. For dessert - the profiteroles, vanilla gelato, and nuetella pizza were fabulous. We ordered way too much! But it was great to try so many things. In spite of the service, the food came out quickly from the kitchen! Drinks - 5/10 The Aperol Spritz was pretty terrible. It was mostly Aperol and no spritz. I asked for some extra soda water to even it out and re-mixed it at the table. On the beer menu, several of the items were unavailable. In celebration of my 31 year old clients birthday, we went to Pasta Beach for dinner, a party of 8. Our table was ready in the center of the restaurant and we were quickly seated. Our waiter was a cordial young man, however he clearly was under pressure. The restaurant was short staffed and all tables were full, word was the kitchen was missing a chef, basically a one man show in the back of the house. First course was Burrata Caprese, 4 orders shared, but wait, where's the bread? 15 minutes later our waitstaff told us , it would be coming soon. 10 minutes later he brought 2 tiny pails with about 5 pieces of very crusty crunchy bread in each. Our orders were taken: I chose Calamari, my client pesto pasta, others ordered pasta dishes and pizzas and one chose a side of Brussel sprouts, which were cooked crispy, the way we like them. The Pizza's looks fantastic, the Eggplant pizza especially so. The pesto pasta was gorgeous and creamy. My calamari was pretty good, nice large rings battered lightly and not in the least bit oily. The Spaghetti Al Pormodoro, was aldente, which was not the person who ordered it preferred way to eat pasta, and a small serving for the price. One of the people at the table ordered a mocktail which did not come until halfway through the meal, after I reminded the waitstaff, at that point we were awarded another waitstaff for the rest of the meal. Considering the short staff, and the large party it was good enough to return another time, I need to try the pizza myself! The biggest downfall was the noise level, in fairness, I'm no a fan of noisy restaurants. It did not help that the music matched the volume making conversation difficult. What I did observe was the staff working together, helping each other out, a display of team and coordination from the front of the house. We will see when I go for my pizza! read more

We had always avoided this place but after going to get sweets at nearby Madrid a few times and seeing that this place was busy, we decided to give it a try. The inside was nice. The service was good. But the food sucked. Calamari was tasteless. Pasta beach should have nice pastas. Maybe even some fresh, homemade ones. We sat for an extended time without having drink orders taken, other tables who came in after us were already receiving food by this time. Many more things happened afterwards. The decor is something I would classify as industrial chic. Tables are somewhat close together. There is a couple of tables on the sidewalk. The menu is small and focused. We had a couple of drinks and split the margarita pizza at the bar. Service was lacking despite at times we were the only people in the restaurant. The waitstaff hung at the end of the bar talking. The only time we were asked how the pizza was, or if we needed anything else was when there was one piece left. I liked the pizza, thought it had a good flavor. My companion did not, because the margarita pizza did not have cut tomatoes and did not like the flavor of the sauce. Overall I would probably try it again if I were in the area. I'm glad I've given this spot a few chances because it gets better each time I visit. The Newport location was an immediate favorite, but that was 6 years ago and a lot has changed since then. I went a few times more recently, and I've enjoyed everything I've had. Pizzas are kind of my go-to, but I shared the calamari and thought it was grand. They also made a specialty dessert for Valentine's Day that included chocolate mousse and raspberries and THAT WAS DIVINE. My only hesitation was that the tables upstairs seemed very close together for COVID times (like...my chair was back to back with someone else's), but perhaps that's gotten better. I'm not sure if it was I ordered, but I felt that the entree I had at Pasta Beach was very salty and bland. I ordered the Bucatini Cacio e Pepe, and my friend ordered the Tagliatelle alla Bolognese. We were both unimpressed. I also had the Crostini di Ricotta (bread with ricotta cheese, honey, and walnuts) which was really good. However, not enough to want me to return. The service was really friendly and attentive, and the restaurant itself is beautiful. I loved the ambiance for a small group dinner or a date. We were in the neighborhood around lunchtime recently and decided to stop in here. It sounds silly, but the name had been part of the reason we'd never tried it. It's an incredibly unserious name. Having said that, it feels like a place we would have frequented in NYC when we lived there; it's small but cozy, with a restrained menu. Our server was so nice, and had good answers for the few questions we had. Ended up having some of the absolute best calamari I've had anywhere, and a really great salad as well. All the hallmarks of good, bistro-style Italian food are here: good cheese, quality olive oil on the table, simple but delicious pasta, and a general freshness to everything. Our teen son demanded the Nutella pizza, which--predictably--was not great. But, the dough lead me to believe the pizzas are probably pretty good. And hey, the strawberries were actually pretty tasty. We'd definitely return. read more

I came here with my family and although the ambiance and decor were cozy, the service and food were average and below average, respectively. The staff were polite but the service provided was both slow and negligent. If you want actual Italian food, I don't recommend coming here. We got salads with grilled chicken or salmon, and the proteins weren't seasoned at all (super bland and dry). The pastas, tagliatelle al funghi and tagliatelle alla bolognese, were also bland and average at best. Additionally, the complimentary bread tasted like old, soft bread that lacked flavor and texture. read more

First, I want to start of by mentioning that the staff here is super friendly, accommodating, and attentive, so 5 stars to them. Second, depending on when you go, parking is usually available, although not always easy to find. There's street parking and also a paid parking lot. This place is located in a cute little neighborhood/block/strip with bakeries and shops so definitely tour around a bit if you're in the area. Now into the food. We started off with the calamari e gamberi fritti. I've never had a calamari dish that came with shrimp as well but I love the seafood combination. Each piece was fried to perfection and crispy. The portion is pretty good and could be for 2-3 people to share. The shrimp were nice and thick and still juicy (not over cooked). The chimichurri sauce was good, but for some reason the sesame seeds were more overpowering than expected--it wasn't bad but it was different. The bolognese was good and had a ton of meat. Note that it does not come with pork meat anymore, just beef. I'm not a fan of red sauces but this one was not too acidic which is good. I do have to admit that although the dish was good it was not amazing or did not stand out. I personally enjoyed the gambero bianco more. It was a unique tasting dish so the best I could compare it to would be a diluted pesto with a stronger taste of garlic. I wish there was more spiciness to it. I was skeptical of the anchovy paste since I've never had them and I thought it would be too fishy or salty but it was subtle and good. The shrimp again was thick and juicy. The drinks were also good. I honestly cannot remember their names but I believe one was a passion fruit drink, maybe a mule, and definitely a pomegranate fizz. All were good and it was tough to decide which was my favorite but I might have to go with the orange one in the top left. read more
