Love all the football memorabilia in the place and really enjoyed that the overall ambience was still sleek and sophisticated--it didn't scream sports bar, even though it is essentially an elevated one. (That being said, Fight On Trojans! Have to represent the home team here, lol!) The boys at the table enjoyed their Pig Skin Old Fashioneds (complete with bacon), while we ladies enjoyed our cocktails: Raspberry Lemon Drop martini for my sister-in-law, while I had the Guava Lava (good, but a bit too sweet for me) and the Spicy Succulent (hold the agave, so it was tart, but good). For food we enjoyed a variety of dishes: -Cheesy Rolls: simple but good, as the name suggests (unsure why one order was $5 and the other was $6) -Tailgate Chili: pretty good, though there was something in it (or not in it) so that I liked it but didn't love it -Spurrier's Classic Burger: good quality meat, cooked properly, but again, for me, there was something missing to make it wow -Bolognese: Brother said he liked it a lot; It looked and smelled good -Tomahawk Pork Chop: definitely a bit more pricey at $41, but I think it was the best dish on the table. I usually don't order pork because I think it will be dry or lacking in flavor and this was neither! So glad that Jim G. ordered this one. Wish I took more bites, lol! We were too full for dessert, though they sounded good. Jim G. threatened to return right at closing to order some of the cookies! He loves to have his second dinner, lol! The parking area (and parking structure) was crazy on a Friday night, so plan accordingly and give yourself some extra time. We stopped by Spurrier's to get a bite before our movie. Since we were on a tight schedule, we sat at the bar and ordered right away. However, I guess our order wasn't properly entered into the computer. So, about half an hour later it became apparent that a mistake had happened and our order wasn't ready. Yikes! Our movie was beginning in like 20 minutes. So, the manager (Paul) stepped in and took control of the situation. First, he assured us that our food would be immediately prepared, and then he had a bowl of yummy cheese rolls delivered to us. It's something we never would've ordered, but I gotta say I'm a fan now! Then our food came out about ten minutes later. Both dishes were perfect. The chicken Marsala was tender and juicy with a slightly crispy grilled exterior. Piled on top of real mashed potatoes, it's the perfect comfort food. Same with the eggplant rollatini. Hot, fresh, and tasty! Knowing we were on a time crunch, Paul brought over our check and a couple of to-go boxes for any leftovers. He also let us know that he comped our meals! Look, mistakes happen no matter where you go. The difference is how they handle it. And this was a textbook case of making an unfortunate situation right. We didn't ask for anything, but we absolutely appreciated it. And we made it to our movie just as the last trailer was ending! We've been going to Spurrier's on a semi-regular basis since it opened. Well what can I say, first time here. Had 3 drinks, one app, watched the end of the Gator MBB game, Bayhill API and what do you know.....The Old Ball Coach, HBC himself shows up. Coach Spurrier grabs the mic and thanks the whole restaurant for coming to support. Thanks the whole staff and everyone for doing a great job. Then tells a UF Story that no one has probably ever heard in a long time. Very cool The place is high class, top of the line and just a stellar upscale restaurant/sports bar. The rooftop bar is getting an upgrade already. We had the calamari and it's awesome. Menu looks awesome can't wait to come back. Cocktails menu is plentiful, wine liquor etc is good to go. Plus the whole area is so much fun. Open containers walking around the courtyard. Movies, chocolatier, pizza, piano bar fire pit. Celebration Pointe is the perfect setup. Parking is easy. They have inside and patio seating. My friend and I shared: - Bananas Foster French Toast ($15): Banana's Foster bread pudding and French toast blend. The toast itself was really good, fluffy and very similar to bread pudding. The glaze tasted like it had some type of bourbon in it but I'm not sure. - Short Rib Arepas ($16): slow braised short ribs marinated with fresh chilies, layered between homemade arepas with Monterey Jack cheese and tomatillo sauce. We had the pleasure of dining at Spurriers our first trip to Gville back in August. We have now come to Spurriers EVERY trip since. 10+ times. It's one of the best restaurants we have ever been to, and we have dined at 5star restaurants all across the US, and Europe. Spurriers is super clean, the staff is ridiculously helpful and kind, (in our family we have food allergies, special diets, we are admittedly a tough bunch bc we have to modify nearly everything- but every server - and we've had a bunch- has gone above and beyond accommodating us, and always with a smile. Even during brunch hours!!). Last but not least The food is superb, everything is fresh and tastes homemade, the vibe is lovely too. I just can't say enough about the place. Brunchers Unite - we have a new meeting spot! Listen, I don't know a thing about Football. Let's just get that out first. And I'm not a Gator. Two traits that I surely thought made me susceptible to being run out of town if I were to ever have been found out. But alas, I'm still embraced by this wonderful town of football-loving folks, and that allows me to experience such Gator greats and their offspring, like Spurrier's. Bearing the name of a Gator legend and perched upon the fresh astroturf of beautiful Celebration Pointe, I expected nothing but greatness when I finally got to visit because it's all in the name, right? Evenings are usually for work but weekend mornings/afternoons call for brunch al fresco. On my first visit with my girlfriends, we were definitely in awe of the beautiful decor that captures your attention upon entry. I love that each piece of decor seems so strategic. Who would think that classic interior decor could pair well with championship helmets and the Rolexes of the HBC himself? We were told that we would have a 30-min wait which is to be expected, but it seemed like so much shorter once we sat to enjoy Apple Cider Mimosas at the bar. (Which were delicious!) I won't lie - my girls and I pretty much ordered everything on the menu, LOL and we didn't regret anything! And the best part? It all came out SO quickly, my first and second visit! What an absolute disappointment. We had a 715 reservation and while I understand that the Gators were in the semi finals we were told they were running "a little behind." 30 minutes later I was told "another 20 minutes." 25 minutes later the hostess let slip to my wife that the table was given away. 90, NINETY, 9-0 MINUTES AFTER OUR RESERVATION TIME I got the text that our table was ready. Piss poor planning by the restaurant and an absolute disgrace. Stopped in while in town for a nice dinner to celebrate a birthday. We were seated pretty quickly and greeted by our server. We ordered a cocktail which was well balanced and refreshing - Citrus 75 was my choice. We started with some calamari which came out well seasoned and hot. We really enjoyed the item and it didn't sit long on the table. One of the kids ordered the burrata for her entrée (she actually ate 2 of them since she enjoyed it so much). The other had the 6oz filet with fries and she really enjoyed the whole steak. She ordered it medium rare and it was cooked as ordered and she really enjoyed it. I had the short rib and wild mushroom risotto for my meal and it was delicious. The server was great and we really enjoyed our meal. We did tell them it was a birthday and they didn't recognize that or do anything (we were not expecting anything, but it would have been nice to at least say Happy Birthday). Ambiance was great, but that was the only thing. I got a lychee cocktail and not only was it small, it was served in a plastic cup. You can't even do a glass cup? You seat yourself here. We sat and waited for 10 minutes but no one came to get our order. We thought maybe we had the wrong idea, so I went to the bar to order. As soon as I walk up to the bar a server tells me that you order at your table. So I go back to the table and order from him. Every group that came in after us were seen by a server immediately. Decided to check out the rooftop bar, Visors, at Spurrier's for their cocktails. It was in the later evening on a Saturday, after an away game that had ended hours earlier so the bar wouldn't be packed. Self-seating was in effect, however it took nearly 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged our table. They could have been busy, but there were other tables attended to almost immediately in the time after we arrived, so I'm not sure. We were given a menu and started looking over it. The cocktail menu is incredibly odd with interesting drinks, each about $12-15. When our drinks arrived, we were shocked to find they were served in small plastic cups. I would expect a place as pricey as Spurrier's to at least serve their cocktails in nicer glasses, but apparently not. Maybe it's a gameday-only thing, but again, the game had been over for several hours. The cocktails themselves were disappointing. One tasted like juice, I'm still not sure if there was alcohol in it. I would expect house drinks to at least taste a little boozy and have a good flavor profile but these were seriously lacking. I'm not sure how the food is, as we did not order any. Our waiter was kind and attentive once they came to our table, so that's at least a plus. I just wish Spurrier's was a better experience for guests, because as hyped up as it is that it's Head Ball Coach's restaurant, it's pretty sad that I'd have a better experience at a sports dive bar. If you're just going to go for the drinks, choose somewhere else. read more

We shared delicious appetizers of calamari, shrimp, and the star of the show the braised short rib on French bread. I got the HBC margarita and it was very refreshing. For dinner I got the burger and fries and it was cooked well and juicy! The staff is top tier and attentive. The decor of novelty items and historical pieces is truly one of a kind and impressive. We started Fun & Gun style, with outstanding margaritas, then shifted to ball control with a bottle of stellar red wine (L'Aventure Optimus, which I highly recommend). Our first possession was spinach artichoke dip and tailgate chili. Two touchdowns. Then crab & lobster cakes for my companion's entree; shrimp and grits for me; with street corn on the side. Three more scores. A second bottle of wine, a tense Gator basketball victory, and a great second game distracted us from ever ordering dessert. But I can tell you from past experience that Jerri's cookies are a guaranteed two-point conversion. But, "Oh, my!" The service was even better.The restaurant was Swamped. For my entree, I had the lemon Artichoke Chicken Pasta and it was delicious. Very tasty. Sorry my photo shows less food because I had already started eating it. My husband had the Macadamia crusted Mahi which he thought was also delicious. I had a taste and I have to agree. The service was excellent and the server very friendly. Service was good too and ambiance felt great but sadly when I came back the third time I got the same thing for dinner(redfish and broccolini) and they definitely missed the mark this time-I'm not sure if it was due to graduation weekend or what but the mocktail on the menu was delicious-I could have ordered it 2-3 more times! This is a really cool spot! So glad I stumbled upon it while searching yelp as we were at an out of town game and not familiar with the area. I called ahead and reserved a table. They were very accommodating! There is parking located directly behind the restaurant (and in various other locations close by as this is a mall/shopping area). The place is beautiful with high ceilings and a rooftop! We ordered the burger and cheesy grits. It did not disappoint! The entire restaurant and menu is Spurrier/Gator themed so my bloody Mary had a blue rim and an orange hue! Super fun! It is upscale and upbeat at the same time! Overall: Great ambience, good food, and decent service Ambience: I came here with a friend to watch a Gator game on the weekend. We sat at the bar but outside. It was drizzling but we didn't get wet at all. The inside is really nice decorated to honor Steve and showcase all his accomplishments. Service: We sat at the bar it was good. Nothing too special or extraordinary. Drinks: Since we went at brunch, we got the bottomless mimosas obvi! Lol. It is nice that they had a mimosa bar, which you can control the fruit you put in, and they type and amount of juice. The only con was having to get up all the time. My friend and I were a little upset because we were told the bar would be open to a certain time, but to our surprise last call was an hour earlier than expected. One of the bartenders made us special drinks but if I knew it would cost $25 a glass I would've declined. Food: I had salmon risotto. It was delicious! Outstanding! Not A Typical Sports Bar. This review is for their Sunday brunch buffet. The quality & flavor of everything offered for Sunday brunch was excellent. Our favorites though were the: - Maple Sausage - Étouffée - Thick-Cut Hickory Bacon - Nutella muffin Lots of other great food too (chicken wings, waffles, cheesy grits, corn casserole, shredded beef short rib, etc.), plus plenty of stuff we just didn't have any room for, like mac & cheese, salmon, etc. When the bill arrived, I was stunned to see it was only $30/adult! In the Seattle area, a comparable brunch buffet would be AT LEAST $50, if not closer to $75. Great food. Great value. Great service too. And if you're a football fan, some great memorabilia strewn throughout as well. If you're in Gainesville on a Sunday, do NOT miss out on Spurrier's. read more

Came here on a Tuesday night for my sister's 21st birthday and was absolutely surprised. I thought this would be just an overpriced restaurant but their quality is superb. You should note some things I believe are their specialty and they get just right while some things fall flat. We had the Truffle short rib Crustinis which I will commend for the tender meat but it lacked flavor to say the least. For dinner we all separately ordered Blackened redfish, Bacon burger and the Spaghetti bolognese . My boyfriend, sister and I are all huge foodies so we tried everyone's dishes. We all loved what we ordered. To start off the bolognese was so flavorful and the pasta was Al dente. The redfish was flaky and stood out in its own. Lastly the burger was a basic burger but juicy and thick. Overall would come back and see how brunch fairs. Also props to Melody our server! Came here for brunch with high expectations, especially since they tout it with advertising all over town/TV/media. Our experience was "meh". I swear they scour the earth for the most uninviting hostesses to "greet" patrons at the front desk. The attitudes are cold, unhelpful & frankly, rude. The opposite of what a good, southern restaurant aspires to be. Now onto the service: Service was slow despite the restaurant being half empty. There was an abundance of front desk girls running around (?) but not helpful in any substantial way which is humorous. Our waitress declined to write down our order which is always a red flag and just plain unacceptable. I was served the wrong entrée yet told I wouldn't be charged as an "apology". Well, yeah I'm not going to pay for the wrong order. Food: 1. Buffalo chicken dip was tasty but didn't have more than a spoonful of actual chicken in it. 2. Blood orange mimosa was good but at least inform the patrons you serve it with Cava, not champagne. Cava can cause pretty ugly hangovers because of the extra sugar. 3. The short rib arepas were disappointing. The arepa recipe needs to be cut in half -- they are supposed to be toasted and about 1/4 inch, not 1/2 inch thick and soggy. Ew!!!! 4. I was served the breakfast tacos with sausage which I didn't order and didn't realize until I took a bite and was displeased. The short rib tacos were much tastier! 5. The grits were delicious.
