The brunch buffet was outstanding! Our server was so nice and attentive, and we loved exploring the decor.

There is good and then there is great. Spurrier's is beyond GREAT! Every single element. From accommodating our choice of seating, to friendly and professional service, to handling a severe food allergy and most importantly to absolutely delicious food... Spurrier's far exceeded our expectations! Huge shout out to the bartender Austin M. Who served as our waiter and bartender. He was professional and courteous and diligently attended to our table. Also kudos to the manager, Paul, who insured that our meal was perfect in every way. He and Austin made our dining experience. #1 If your headed to UF or Gainesville make this a MUST! Freddie Wehbe and Spurrier's Gridiron Grille staff are exceptional in so many ways. It was my sister's Birthday and Freddie and the staff made sure our visit was perfect. Took my teenage kids. Music outside was loud and had to shout to hear hostess and waitress was difficult to hear. My kids didn't mind but would be less than ideal for a date or work related meeting. Cocktail was excellent and served in a coupe. We had mushroom starter, shrimp starter, and calamari. Calamari over cooked but the sauce was good. Shrimp seasoning was Buffalo but very strong for seafood. The mushroom was tasty. Scallop entree was en point but corn relish was more of garnish than side. Chicken entree was delicious and had potato side. We finished with bread pudding and creme brûlée and both were excellent. No automatic bead to the table. Service was excellent never waited on anything and silverware replaced with fresh cloth napkins. Overall good a experience for Gainesville. They take reservations. If the band outside is loud maybe close the bar window. read more

Not gonna lie I was really excited to eat here with my wife and son. We showed up at 6:30 for dinner and we were told the wait would be 35-45 minutes. We were good with that as it's new and seems to have great reviews. The blonde at the hostess station with the fish hook in her nose told us she would seat us as quick as possible. What she failed to tell ANYONE outside waiting is that reservations will come first regardless of the wait we have. After an hour of patience I asked when we should expect to be seated. She told me they are booked solid with reservations and she will get to us and the rest of the "waits" when she can, rolling her eyes. I asked why she didn't tell me that all reservations come first and she told me "I don't owe you an explanation". If she was a man I'd have gone to jail. This is not what I expected from the restaurant carrying a legends name. Steve would be embarrassed by how people are treated here. As I haven't had anything to eat here yet I can't review the food but so far the service I've had is trash. Paul at the bar was great to deal with. He gets 5 stars. The blonde with the booger hook gets a -5. read more

Kate was our server and she was awesome! Brunch at Spurrier's is served buffet style and it is amazing. I myself am unable to eat at buffets due to a liver transplant. Kate and the staff went out of their way to accommodate my special needs and made me all fresh items of my choice from the buffet menu that had not been out in the main room! We went for a Friday evening meal and had the Mahi, redfish, and ribeye. The entire group was very pleased with the food. We read that service has been a difficulty in the past, but we must mention our server, Franco, he was amazing. He never let a glass go empty on our table, was quick with service, and just lovely. The ONLY reason we took off a star was because of the noise. It was so loud we couldn't hear anything. If they could replace the wood decorative panels on the ceiling with sound absorption panels, this place would be perfect. read more

I will start with the good. The atmosphere is awesome, a really great tribute to Steve Spurrier. The staff is amazing: very attentive and prompt. Now, the bad. My husband ordered the bacon cheeseburger and I ordered the veggie burger. My husband requested it be cooked medium, and it was really dry. The bacon's texture suggested it was sitting out for a while. It was extremely dry. The veggie burger was mushy and was literally falling apart out of the bun. We couldn't finish our meals due to these issues, and both of our stomachs were queasy afterward. Im really glad we had a gift card and didn't have to pay out of pocket. We told our waitress that she was amazing, the food, not so much. She said she has been hearing this from alot of customers and that they are in the process of revising the menu based on feedback. All in all, very disappointing. We will not be returning. read more

We enjoyed a delicious meal on Saturday night. It was our first time at Spurrier's, and we actually didn't have very high expectations. We thought it would be a "same old same old" sports bar. Yesterday was our second time at Spurrier's which happened to be my birthday. I had said I wanted to go back because we were both impressed with our first visit about a month ago. Our server Melody was great! It also happened to be Father's Day and they were pretty busy. Melody stopped by often to make sure we were doing OK and to ask if we needed anything. My honest impression is that the designer was a bit of a sycophant with little sensibility in the area of designing a desirable place to eat. Areas other than the main dining room may not suffer so much in this department. A tad bit more low key might have been enjoyable at this price read more

One of the very best steaks I've ever had. I got the 6 oz filet. Perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked. Wouldn't have changed a thing. Ate every bite. I added the sautéed mushrooms and the reduction house steak sauce options. Worth every dime. Superb meal. Outstanding server. read more
