This was one of the best Gyros I've had in along time z the meat was perfect,the sauce was made fresh the salad was off the hook it was a perfect meal.they have so much more I wanted to try but I was stuffed from the gyro dinner.i was fasting the day before till now for blood work so this hit the spot they have pork and chicken kabobs and Greek chicken and potatoes that looked so good I'm glad i don't live close to here cause I would be double my size by now lol the lady at the counter was very knowledgeable and did not mind talking to me ,it stated to fill up pretty quick and it was only 11am. Food I'm sure will great as always. However the cashier young lady had an attitude because I asked for them to rung up separately. The older lady chimes in and says no you cannot. I looked at her and said nothing. It was actually empty in there. Not as if I was holding up a line. There were no customers waiting in front or behind me. I had three orders however I only needed two checks. The attitude is definitely bad for business. I wasn't even greeted when I walked in. However the two teen girls who walked in, that they clearly knew who were not placing an order got all the smiles and kind conversation. I just don't like rudeness. That's so bad for business. Family or not the employees should treat all customers with respect. I felt really disrespected and as if my business was not wanted. Again great food. read more

I have been to Squabs probably 50 plus times. Food is always great. BBQ ribs and chicken is my favorite. Soulvaki and the Greek potatoes are to die for. Great gyros and salads. My wife always loves the broasted chicken. My son loves the grilled cheese, I don't know what they do to it, but it is really good. The amount of food you get for reasonable prices just makes this place that much better. A notable mention for some great Italian beefs, combos and for lent, the pepper and egg rocks. There is something for everyone here, also there is plenty of room to sit and they can accommodate large families. read more

I'd give it 4 1/2 stars if I could, but Yelp insists on whole numbers and I like this place, so I rounded up. Squabs has been here for decades, when lots of places (including big names like Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Long John Silver) have come and gone in that time. And not only is Squabs still here, but they're still busy just about every day. That tells you they're doing something right. I most often order a gyro and fries, which are both excellent. The gyro has just the right amount of sauce, and is never dry like some places. There's also a LOT of meat on it, so you will definitely get your money's worth and be full afterward. The fries are also excellent. Most other places I've gone for gyros usually leave me thinking that I wish I'd been to Squabs instead. They may not be the best gyro I've ever had, but I cannot remember a better one in recent memory. Though that's my most common meal, I've also had a few other things such as cheeseburgers and chicken kebabs. They're also quite good, though I don't like them quite as much as the gyro. The only thing I've ever had here that I really don't care for is their garlic bread, which is a bit overdone in my opinion. The soda machines have a few things you don't see everywhere else such as Cherry Coke and red Cream Soda, which I like. I've never had problems with any of the pop being out, either. The bathroom is a bit on the small side, but I usually just pop in there to wash my hands after my meal anyway, so it's no big deal. Some of the booths by the window weren't in great repair last time I sat in them, but I usually get a table instead so it's been awhile. The only real knock on Squabs I can give is that the customer service isn't the friendliest. I've never felt that they've been outright rude to me, but they're a bit brusque. It could be that some of the employees aren't that happy, but a lot of the time I think they're just trying to keep the line moving. They could be friendlier, but I'm not offended by it. read more

The food at this establishment is horrible. I have been here twice because of necessity, since there isn't much out here to eat. Staying close to O'hare, I thought I'd give this place a try. Both times I have been here, I have been disappointed with the food. The quality is not good and the food is bland. What is a broasted chicken anyways? Great food at a good vaule! I typically have to go orders from squabs using there online system. I have been stopping here in regularly since I moved into the area. My favorite is the half Greek chicken with Greek potatoes! I have also used them to cater some of my parties and the food has always been ready on time. My family and I get take out from Squabs all the time, we also occasionally use them to cater our parties. Everything I've ever had from here has been good. Favorites include any of the chicken dinners, the rice and the greek salad. They also have awesome barbecue sauce. So glad we finally came in to pick up food. Sampled a bit of everything on our first voyage. Unfortunately there was a 15 minute wait for the broasted chicken and I was exhausted so definitely not waiting longer than needed for food! We ordered a polish, gyro, fries, a cheeseburger, and chili. And all of it was excellent. No we didn't eat all of that in one sitting. I'm a fatty but not that much of a fatty! The gyro was eaten the next day. Which brings me to my (and my husbands) only complaint--the tzatziki sauce is much too watery. I was actually a bit surprised that it had as much water as it did. I've been here twice. A friend of mine told me that had pretty good food for a reasonable price. I stay seconds from here and I thought I'd give it a try. My first time I tried the gyro of course. The meat was very tasty but I wasn't a big fan of the raw onion and they forgot to put tomatoes on it, fries were cold but overall it was a pretty good gyro. Second I tried the rib tip dinner that comes with fries and garlic bread I was pretty hesitant to try their ribs but I'm glad I did! They were seasoned to perfection and we're falling off the bone! Great bbq sauce as well. Still not a huge fan of their fries though Service. Eh okay, it's okay to crack a smile every once in a while,,right ? No kidding but just eh customer service. I can see this place from my house. After living in the area for a little over 20 years, I decided to stop by for once. I've only tried the Greek salad with chicken and it is incredible. In addition the dressing is outstanding. I have heard that people drink the leftover dressing straight from the cup. The portion here is very generous and easily makes for two meals; that almost never happens for me. BUT BUT BUT... closing time is supposed to be at 9:00 pm, and for a couple of times, I rushed there at 8:30 pm to order gyros for take-out, which should only take 5 - 10 minutes of the staff's precious time. Boy oh boy oh boy did I get such crappy service! I felt like the whole staff hated me for ruining their plans of leaving work early. Mind you, I was there 30 minutes before closing and was done in 10 minutes. The lady at the cash register was frowning and sulking, I could see the kitchen staff rolling their eyes.
