First time at square peg pizzeria yesterday ! I first of all I want to say I absolutely loved the restaurant because they had an arcade ! I mean how often do you see that it's perfect place for a family dinner . There was live music and the singer was fantastic. They also have outdoor seating with a fireplace , which is going to be perfect now that the weather is nice. The happy hour menu is from 2-6 M-F and it is amazing . $6 margaritas and $6 small cheese pizza . I got the passion fruit margaritas ($1 extra for flavour) and it was delicious highly recommend . And the pizza was good ( not terrible for $6 the dough was a little on the chewy side whereas I prefer my crust a little more crispy ) , it had a little char for flavour as well ( not burnt ... IFYKYK) . The only issues was since we went on a Tuesday I think they were low staff today but some people were waiting a while for the waiter to come around ( thankfully we had put in our orders immediately so we didn't have this issue ) . I will definitely be back to try more of there dishes ! Plus You know I always love a good happy hour !

It's fine. Feels family friendly with a mini arcade by the bar. Everyone from the hostess to our waitress were extremely friendly and pleasant. Friend invited me to happy hour and tbh, it's worth going for the special prices! $20 to get an app, pizza, and beer. The pizza got the job done but can't recommend it with a good conscience. Many many better pizza spots in gbury. Come for HH and you'll leave satisfied.

I really liked our Saturday night visit to this pizza place. We had an appetizer of the cheese garlic bread with a nice red sauce to dip in. I had a winter special drink with blue curaçao (my first one was great, the second I ordered was just mehh) our waitress was just attentive enough and she was super busy so kudos. The pizzas we ordered two smalls to share a white with cheeses and pepper and maple syrup the sweet & spicy was great, and a truffle ricotta with mushrooms also good but I preferred the first. We had dessert in the car from Costco otherwise I totally would have tried the fried dough dessert bites.

I recently visited the Glastonbury location with family. The kids love pizza and we have never brunched there before so it was perfect time to try it out. We ordered a few different pies ranging from Brunch and lunch . We did attempt to order 2 different items from the brunch menu and kids menu and they didn't have any and were out of the items already. The family loved the pizza pies. ! My gluten free pizza wasn't too bad. Wasn't crazy about the crust that was used. They had forgotten the egg on the top so I had to ask for it . Besides that , we had a great time ! It wasn't super busy but busy enough with families and a large party in the back! Square peg has a nice patio, bar area and room in the back to host a party.

Went for a Saturday afternoon early dinner and parking was plentiful in the lot. I thought it was cold in there and never took off my jacket. Hubby and I shared 3 things from the happy hour menu - a Caesar salad, a meatball and a pepperoni pizza. Service was good, not great. When our food came, I couldn't get attention to get utensils and had to take them from another table so our food wouldn't get cold.

Place was nice, staff was friendly, food was good. We went during happy hour which was a plus. The happy hour pizzas are perfect size for 1 or to get a few and share.

@squarepegpizzeria We love you a BRUNCH Square Peg Pizzeria1001 Hebron Ave, Glastonbury, CT I was first made aware of this restaurant at the @yelpconnecticut pizza prom Yelp Elite event. When I was informed they also served brunch I brought along my brunch babes @adelayine & @may08xoxo! Brunch isn't just a meal, it's a lifestyle! There was a live DJ (DJ Puzzo Saturday's 12PM-3PM) and Yan, our waiter/bartender was super friendly and attentive. We spoke briefly with the General Manager, Wagner, who told us he has been running this Glastonbury location for about six months and his son @wagner_fragassi was our cook. Our compliments to the chef, whose food was absolutely amazing! Our entire meal was phenomenal and delicious! 10/10 would highly recommend and brunch here again Food Featured: Entrées: Veg Out (veggie pizza, red onion, roasted red peppers, scrambled eggs) Peggy's Wacky BLT Waffle (pesto, avocado, mixed greens, bacon, roasted tomatoes) Peg Waffles (Belgian-style waffles with whipped cream and mixed berry compote) Loaded Tater Tots (mozzarella, bacon, and Parmesan cheese) Dessert: Cinnamon Sugar Fried Dough bites (with Nutella) Cheesecake (with whipped cream and berry compote) Brunch drinks/cocktails: Loaded Mini Pizza Bloody Mary (my FAVORITE it came with a mini pepperoni pizza garnish) Breakfast Shooters (Jameson & butterscotch with an orange juice chaser) Passion Fruit Mojito Prickly Pear Peg-arita J. I'm back! The restaurant is located on 389 Main St. in East Hartford, CT. It's been a few months…read moresince I was last here (December) which is a crime. Carmine's is a fresh from scratch kitchen that is ALWAYS open. Their appetizers, pastas, entrees and desserts combine old-world traditional Italian flavor with a modern flair for presentation, and the freshest ingredients around. Menu staples like rigatoni bolognese, fettuccine carbonara and chicken Milanese are coupled with unique recipes like chicken ala vodka and toasted almond cake. They've staffed the kitchen with a dream team of chefs and you can tell instantly! They also do parties, catering and online ordering/delivery. The restaurant is well known for its live music. There is never a cover and parking is always free. This place and produces absolutely amazing food and drinks. I have noticed quite a few menu changes. The Happy Hour menu has expanded. It's also no longer all day Monday. The main menu no longer has prices on featured drinks (although that's the tre d these days). Note that the Bar Bites menu is available open to close! The Main Menu looks the same although there is a new Wine List (that's a first here). The music is very pleasant and the right volume level. It's always a big cool in here too. For my first drink, I'm having a Pratt N Whiskey. This is made with Woodford Reserve Bourbon, sweet vermouth, red wine and sour mix. It's definitely an unusual drink. It's not garnished, but it tastes great. The wine sticks out for sure. It's clearly a shaken drink not often found with a whiskey component except for maybe Whiskey Sours. For my first item, I'm having the House Salad made with spring mix, basil, tomatoes, julienned (thinly sliced) carrots, cucumbers and house red wine vinaigrette dressing. This is a big portion! I love this dressing! This tastes great! For my next item, I'm trying the Carmine's Secret Tenderloins. These are off of Carmine's "Secret Menu." They are pan seared, caramelized chicken tenderloins, made with wine, olive oil, cracked black pepper (dried black peppercorns broken into coarse, uneven pieces), kosher salt (a coarse, flaky salt named for its use in the Jewish koshering process of drawing blood from meat), shredded Parmesan and a very special "secret sauce." I'm curious as to what this sauce tastes like. Wow! Nice presentation! These are good! I love that sauce! There's a good crowd in here (20 people). Only one worker (bartender and server). She's damn good at what she does! For my next drink, I'm having a Connecticut Cosmo. This is made with Litchfield Vodka, Wild Moon Cranberry, Triple Sec and lime juice. This vodka is the Gold Medal Winner 2018 & 2019 at the New York International Spirits Competition. Silver Medal Winner at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition! Our Gluten-Free Batchers' Vodka is distilled from luscious corn grown during the beautiful summer months in Somers, CT. We distill 4 ¾ times and use a gravity-fed charcoal filter that takes 12 hours to filter 100 gallons. The longer the vodka sits on the charcoal, the more impurities are removed, which creates an incredibly smooth taste. Bottled at 80 proof. It is impeccably clean, slightly sweet, velvety smooth mouthfeel and sweet buttery overtones. It's smooth with a warm finish with subtle notes of sweet ripe corn at the end. I actually sat down next to the owner of the Distillery at a wine pairing dinner at Flemings in West Hartford about 7-8 years ago. This looks nice! Wow! This has great flavor! For my next item, I'm having the Rigatoni Matinara. Rigatoni is a large, tube-shaped pasta with ridges on the outside and straight-cut ends. Marinara sauce is a tomato sauce usually made with tomatoes, garlic, herbs, and onions. I don't eat pasta all that often. This will serve as my appetizer before I hit the main course. This is a BIG portion! It is very good! For my entree I'm having the Pan Seared Salmon which is "hand cut" salmon with zesty orange glaze served over mashed potatoes with seasonal vegetables (broccoli). Add LOTS of crushed red pepper. Nod that's "LOTS." This is spicy! My kinda spicy! The plate is nice and hot! I like the presentation. This tastes great! What a great meal here!

I stopped in for a takeout lunch and grabbed four slices and a drink. Normally when I try a pizza place I go for the plain cheese slice first (b/c if you can't do that well I'm not interested in anything else) but they didn't have any available so I'll go slice by slice with this review. First up was the White Pizza, simple pie with Ricotta, Mozzarella and Parmigiano. This wasn't bad at all, but it wasn't very flavorful. Most places will use a garlic and herb base or something to give it some extra flavor but this was just ok. The Chicken-Bacon-Ranch was probably the best of the four I tried, though it was a little light on the toppings. If it had a bit more chicken and/or bacon I would have enjoyed it a lot more than I did but overall it was good, but could be much better. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was not what I am used to. I'm spoiled by the version that Hometown Pizza does where the chicken chunks are breaded and sauced and the finished pie is topped with bleu cheese dressing. This was a pizza with shredded chicken and hot sauce so, technically buffalo chicken but like the other slices, lacking on the toppings so hard to say it was anything other than just "OK". The Big Mac slice was really the biggest disappointment. First off, the Big Mac is a BURGER and there was hardly any burger on the pizza at all. Though there were some sesame seeds present there were none on the crust. The primary toppings here seem to be the 'sauce' and lettuce which tasted more like Russian dressing than "Big Mac" sauce. It's a nice enough place, cozy inside and the staff is friendly for the most part, I wouldn't mind sitting down for a nice lunch but, as many others have mentioned there are a LOT of good pizza places within a short distance so I'm not sure I'll be coming back anytime soon. I'm not sure why they're so light on the toppings but if your slice pies are that skimpy there's no way I'd order a whole pie. Barely three stars.

There were only about 3 booths plus some half-booth/chair seating for maybe 20 people total. The decor was really pretty too, hanging flowers everywhere which made it feel cozy and aesthetic. Service was amazing. There was one bartender and one waiter and both were super attentive, fast, and friendly the whole time. We specifically went for the $20 girl dinner special which comes as a tower with martinis filled with Caesar salad, garlic knots, penne alla vodka, and french fries. The french fries were PHENOMENAL and the penne alla vodka was honestly sensational. My only wish is that the meal included some kind of protein like chicken because it would've made it feel a little more complete. Their drink menu is huge and really creative they had things like a cannoli martini and pistachio martini which were both delicious. I originally wanted a whiskey martini, so the bartender suggested a sidecar martini. It was good, just not really the vibe for a 5 PM dinner with my girlfriends lol definitely more of a late-night cocktail. I ended up switching to "That's Your Old Fashioned" made with birthday cake whiskey and liked that much better. Overall, I'd definitely go back for drinks and to try more food. I probably wouldn't order the girl dinner again personally, but it's still a really good deal and such a fun concept. Loved the atmosphere and service

The restaurant is in a sleepy little corner of Glastonbury in a tiny strip mall. The inside is decorated well and it's a very pretty space. The single waitress was handling the entire place herself. She got me seated after a short wait. She was very polite and helpful, offered recommendations and was always available but was very busy. Opted for linguini in vodka sauce with meatballs, and the crème brûlée. Food came out after a short wait. Took pics and dug in The pasta was not boiled in salty water. Pasta consistency was slick and firm but not crunchy. Either overworked fresh pasta or dried, I'm not sure which. The vodka sauce was one note, lacking any depth. It was a creamy tomato sauce and really needed seasoning to punch up the flavors. The meatball was dense, lacked any seasoning or flavor. They were cooked and warm, just not much going on beyond ground beef. The Marinara was actually really good. Balanced, sweet but not overly acidic. The quality showed in that sauce. The crème brûlée was very good. Little bit boozy due the gran mariner on top with the caramelized sugar. Creamy and light on the vanilla but the perfect consistency. The best bite of the bites. The garlic knots and cappuccino were okay. Nothing fancy there, but functional and good enough. The server showed concern when I didn't eat much of my entree. She offered replacements, which I declined. The hospitality was great even with her being as busy as she was. Price was high, coming out to around 45 bucks for the pasta and meatballs, cappuccino, and dessert. It was a lunch on a Monday, so not expecting the best. But the price was a bit much for the quality provided. I can see glimmers of greatness here. The server and the dessert were great, but their entrees leave a bit to be desired. As an Italian restaurant, it has the perfect ambiance and service expected for an elevated experience in that area. The foods a bit lacking, but if you go for the location and the service then you'll do just fine.

Choices were limited to 'small and large plates', there was no appetizer section. We were asked "sparkling bottled ($$) or tap water?". We chose tap. Server brought an old-style quart-size milk bottle and small juice-size glasses. The water had no ice, so I assumed water was cold, it wasn't. I ordered a 'breakfast' stout, my wife coffee. Stout was served in a wine glass, not a traditional pint glass. Wife said coffee wasn't that hot. When they brought our beverages, wife asked for a napkin since none were on the table. Like most civilized countries, I like to put a napkin in my lap when I sit down in a restaurant. Apparently you need to ask for one here. Young server muttered something about place settings are brought when food is delivered. I guess an ale and coffee aren't napkin worthy. Not sure what they accomplish with this goofy policy. It looks more like some kind of cost cutting measure. We made reservations a week earlier, wanted us to confirm a second time through text the same morning. It led me to think this must be a popular place with people clamouring to get in. Once there, place wasn't bust at all, no waiting customers and a sea of unoccupied tables. Our guest arrived after we ordered our beverages. After a few minutes, I ended up flagging down a server to get her a drink. Another sign we were stuck with a 2nd or 3rd-string staff. Our aunt ordered a specialty drink from their menu; "champagne in a laundry basket", (looked more like laundry water in a wash tub). After taking our orders, paper menus were collected to be reused. Maybe they were saving money on copy paper. I kinda' wish she left one in case we wanted desserts or something later. They were keeping the table clear of literally everything. I ordered a humus plate for use as an appetizer, something to share and couldn't be screwed up while waiting for our main course. When entrees showed up, we all chose 'smoked sausage eggs-benedict', extra servers were in tow with plates, napkins and silverware, napkin place settings given after all plates were on the table. My wife was seated across from me, sitting next to her Aunt Nan. The first plate was placed in front of me. Even being the neanderthal caveman I am, I knew this was the most basic etiquette faux pas (I felt humiliated j/k). Ladies are ALWAYS served first, another red flag from an inexperienced staff. The 'smoked sausage' Eggs Benedict failed on many levels. It wasn't hot, poached eggs were both over and under-cooked- egg whites had chunky white snot, yolks were not runny. The 'smoked sausage', was kielbasa logs cut in half lengthwise, they were overcooked and impossible to cut without flattening and mutilating egg and muffin. They could be used as wheel chocks, I had to deconstruct it so sausage could be wrestled with on the side. Wife said the 'homemade' English muffin had the tap water taste like what we were served 'for free'. I couldn't help but envision a garden hose filling a mop bucket used for filling the milk bottles. The Hollandaise sauce lacked silky richness and flavor, I've had better with McCormick packets. Benedict was overpowered with the taste of the smoked sausage. This meal was our aunt's special treat for our birthdays. They did not finish their meals, leaving mostly the pieces of the hockey puck-hard sausage. Server had been touting the pastry chef for the home-made English muffins. They were not any better than Thomas's English muffins. I am a plate-cleaner by habit, I've even been called human garbage disposal, so I managed to clear this one, (except for the egg snot, it would've taken a straw to finish it). My wife always has leftovers I happily dispose of quietly, not this time, gave it a hard pass. I felt unfulfilled, I was food frustrated, so I ordered some bacon cheese scones and shared them with the table. They turned out to be the best thing we had, warm Bisquick quality with a good taste of bacon and cheese almost as addicting as Red Lobster cheddar biscuits. We consumed them like a pack of hungry wolves. I asked and was told they don't serve them with butter. These begged for butter. IMO, butter should already be on the table. My wife picked this venue for our birthday treat meal with our beloved Aunt Nan from MA treating us. I apologized to her for our disappointing choice. She said she was glad I said it, she didn't want to say anything to make us feel bad. With tip, the bill for 3 was $171.00. We could have had a better meal and service at an IHOP for a quarter of the cost, I know I would have felt more satisfied. This experience made onto my list of top 5 worst eating experiences.

That's the downside and I would give it 3.5 honestly because of it. Service was alright, our waiter wasn't bad, but he told us pizza will be right out and we still waited 20 minutes. All we ordered was a small firebird pizza. Sally's apizza describes it as "Mozzarella, Sally's tomato sauce, oven roasted chicken, diced sweet and hot peppers, onion" The flavor is really good and I do like how thin crusted the pizza is. Next time I would like to try the meat specialty pizzas. Last time we got cheese and pepperoni and it was good. The pepperoni is a but greasy but it's expected.

This is such a bad representation of Sally's. It's not even Sally's…read more Dined in with a coupon for a free pizza because the last time we came here it took them over an hour to serve us. I wanted to give them a second chance. Sometimes businesses have bad days and I don't like to judge based off of one experience unless it's super bad. Well, this time was worse. Ordered the chopped salad. All you could taste was dressing and it was soggy and swimming. Barely any meat. Then the pizza came. One half had pepperoni and hot honey and the other had meatball and ricotta. The pepperoni side was literally disgusting. Like the salad, it was completely drenched in hot honey and sickly sweet. It was pooling on my plate. You couldn't taste the sauce, cheese, and toppings. Speaking of the sauce, there was little to none, had no flavor, and it was canned. I know canned sauce when I taste it. This was especially shocking because Sally's is known for their sauce. I'm very disappointed because I usually love the sauce at Sally's l, but this wasn't it. And then there's another problem: the pizza came out burnt and cold. New Haven style is slightly charred, not BURNT. It wasn't just the crust; it was also the undercarriage. See the photos I attached. It also took 50 minutes from the time our order was placed to get our one pizza when the restaurant wasn't even at half occupancy. Service was terrible!! We weren't even offered red pepper or parm with our pizza and weren't asked if we wanted dessert. Not like we wanted to stay after that mess, but it would've been nice to be asked. Our server was never near our table and it took a long time to get the things we wanted. We felt completely ignored all night. I feel like this is totally understandable on a busy night, but the place wasn't packed by any means and there were only a few tables occupied. We had to wait an extra 20 minutes after we finished our pizza before our server came around again and just handed us the check and walked away without a word. Not coming back.
