Cadillac and Hellcat
Sergio G.

First timer here on a Friday around 6pm. Great service (bit of a wait but well worth it) Tried the Cadillac and Hellcat Detroit style. Cadillac 4/5 - Great pizza! Love the crisp and toppings and the flavor goes so well! But I think our pizza was slightly rushed because in the center, it was a little uncooked but other than. Pizza is SOLID Hellcat 3/5 - Want to give a less rating because I personally didn't enjoy it but can't take away that it was cooked the same way as the Cadillac and it was crispy as well. But it was BEYOND too sweet and pizza was not edible for me. But it's just not for me so can't go too bad on the review. Seating 4/5 - Good amount seating outside, inside is super crammed and you'll get people bumping into you inside trying to look at the menu and adding additional condiments. But outside seating only (bring a sweater at night) Price - I would say it's worth it, the slices are large and filling. Steep at $30 roughly but it last me and my wife 3 days or so.

The friendliest customer service! I felt I was treated like a regular even thought it's my first time here. Even though a line started to form he still took his time to explained the pizza types, ordering process (depending if you want the slice vs a whole pizza). If you want slices then it's whatever they have available at the display case. Detriot style slices run about $7-$8 each depending on the flavor/topping. I thought it's a nice touch that all the slices are named after cars. Pontiac - cheese blend, red sauce, cupping pepperoni (classic pepperoni 4/5) Dodge - spinach, mushroom, ricotta, and garlic (the ricotta was so creamy 4/5) Corvette - pepperoni, sausage (3.5/5) They do reheat for you and takes about 5 minutes after ordering. Free parking is near impossible and the lots nearby are very pricey. There's a good amount of outdoor seating out front.

I ordered the GM pizza (meatballs, ricotta, huge basil pieces) and it was really tasty. I'm a big fan of Detroit style pizza. The price wasn't bad either. I also tried one of their cannolis with pistachios which was also delicious. I ordered online because they tend to be pretty busy, and it's a small shop. My order was ready when I arrived. Service was friendly.

Pretty good Detroit style pizza spot in PB, u order at the counter and chose ur slice(s), they will bring it to you once ready (doesn't take long) and there's red pepper, garlic powder, oregano, ranch, etc. Inside the restaurant is quite small but there's outdoor seating and each slice comes cut in half, it's a good size, I could barely finish one slice. Overall very good.

We were so happy about the pepperoni pizza!! Hot honey too! They just were awarding the #1 Detroit Pizza in San Diego for 2026!

Delicious pepperoni pizza! It was Detroit style! So so good!! Makes sense they got the number one Detroit Pizza award.

Front entrance from one of their outdoor tables (no inside seating).

Fantastic pizza. True Detroit style and if you've never tried it you should. This is not deep dish from Chicago - the dough is surprisingly light and fluffy. But it's the caramelized edges that you live for- so good! Sauce is great as were the ingredients. The sausage and pepperoni and cooked just right- curled up and a little brown, full of flavor. It's not a 5 for me only because of the ambiance. It's just ok. This is really a grab and go place, although there are a few tables outside. The front of the store is just a bit messy and confusing- looks like they use some of the space for their deliveries. This is a casual laid back place. The guy who took my order was nice enough. They are busy and churn out pizzas. Delicious pizza in a take out location. Worth coming to!

We heard good things about this place. We decided to check it out. For Saturday night it was pretty busy which was expected. It is a tiny little pizza shop. The food was decent. We ordered each a slice to try. They heated it up, but unfortunately, it was cold and could use a little more Cooking. Now the cheese bread was on point all the stars are for the cheese bread.

What We Ordered: -Pontiac $25.00 We were visiting SD for the weekend! Since, my parents and I are native New Englanders who no longer living there. We were all craving Roast Beefs - we went next door to Jim's. Since, we have a preschooler. I wasn't sure if he would like the roast beef and whether or not we had enough food for everyone. So I came here to order a pie to make sure we had enough food. We ordered a Detroit-style pepperoni pizza called the Pontiac. The sauce was excellent. It's tangy and tasty! There was also a nice crunch to the crust! All in all, a solid pie! If we lived close by, this would be my go-to place. It was pretty good! To the dismay of my mother, I consumed a few too many slices. She just wanted more leftovers for the next day. Not on my watch! LOL! It did make a great breakfast the next day!

Square Pizza Co. on Cass St. in Pacific Beach home of the square pizza offers Detroit style square pizza baked to perfection. A small but bustling store, Square Pizza cranks out an assortment of pies from Detroit Style, Thin Crust and Sicilian style. As this with my first visit had to order a whole pie Detroit style of course with cupped pepperonis. Starting with a corner slice, the edges were crunchy and each bite was packed full of flavor with the generous amount of red sauce paired with the thick doughy pillowy crust. These slices are thicc and will leave you feeling satisfied. Service was warm and welcoming with exclusively outdoor seating. Highly recommend if you are craving a Detroit Style pizza.

Hell cat pizza

Another day another great pizza from square pizza! This time I came on a Saturday afternoon. I called about 25 minutes before to place my order. When I got there about 25 minutes later, unfortunately my ticket was misplaced and my pizza was never made. Fortunately I wasn't in a rush and I waited about 15-20 minutes to get my pizza. I got the hell cat and it's a must try! The hot honey drizzle on top is to die for and even though my pizza took longer than expected, it was worth the wait. The service was good and they offered me a free drink for the inconvenience. Love this place!

The location of this establishment is perfect. We couldn't decide between a sandwich or pizza so we got food from two locations. There is a sandwich restaurant next to this place (see my other review). The staff were friendly and recommended something based on our food craving for the day. We got a deep dish with half and half for us and the kids. The food smells amazing and the food tastes even better. Again the location for this place is great. We ate outside and enjoyed the ocean breeze and we all left stuffed. We wanted more pizza but no one could eat anymore. 10/10 must try

I ordered the Detroit style pizza and it was a bunch of crust. Minimal pepperoni. The sauce was good. Just not my style of pizza.

What is the most popular flavor?

I’d say for Detroits the best sellers are: Cadillac, Pontiac, Dodge, Hellcat seems to be getting a lot of love lately. As for the Thin Crust: Newburyport, Methuen, Andover & Hampton have always been guests favorites. Sicilians we only make it either…

Is there a pizza made with organic, vegan and gluten-free ingredients?

Hey Tara, yes all our vegan pizzas are made on our made in house gluten free dough & we use Violife Dairy Free Cheese. Even thought they are not organic we source our ingredients from the best purveyors out there. Take care and Happy Holidays !

Where do you get your cannolis ? Are they home made or imported?

We use a specific shell made in New Jersey. Filling is made in house. Always piped fresh to order.…

I tried ordering as suggested from your website on the drop down menu and my address is still out of range (I live 15mins away). I will try to rephrase the intent of my original question...will you please join Uber Eats or another common service?

Understood. We are right now on GrubHub, Ubereats and Postmates so hopefully one of them will work for you. Out of the shop we deliver to a limit of 2.5 miles since we do it by scooter/electric bike. Hope that helps!

Will you pleaseeeee expand your delivery radius or allow Uber Eats or Post Mates to pickup?

Hey Bret, how are you ? Allow UberEats and Postmates for customer pickup here at our location ? If that’s the case please go to our website squarepizzaco.com and select order online from the drop down menu. You will be able to see your options as…

Hi Leila, unfortunately we do not. Up until now we haven’t found something we liked it enough to stand behind and sell it. Be well.

Are there vegan options here?

I was a bit hesitant because I typically cook my noodles IN the sauce versus topping them with sauce but this meal did not disappoint. Both the meat in the ravioli and sauce were very flavorful. The spinach raviolis were excellent--flavorful, perfectly cooked, and definitely the highlight of my meal. Unfortunately, the veal was a major disappointment. It was extremely tough and difficult to cut and chew. I ended up leaving almost the entire entrée on my plate because I simply couldn't enjoy it. My husband and I both commented that it didn't have the tenderness or delicate texture we normally associate with veal. True veal should be tender, fine-grained, and easy to cut with a fork, but this was quite the opposite. Based on this experience, I would not order another meat entrée from this restaurant. It's unfortunate because the ravioli showed that the kitchen is capable of preparing excellent food. I hope the restaurant will review the quality of the meat it serves, as it made an otherwise pleasant visit very disappointing.

We began…read morethe meal with the mini fried calzones with mozzarella and tomato sauce inside and they were great. You could tell the bread was super fresh and high quality so I would recommend it. Next, we got a glass of prosecco. I told the waiter that I only like wine that tastes much more sweet then bitter or strong and he made a perfect suggestion along with giving us a sampler of 3 different wines which was so generous. I got to try them all and pick the one I liked the most, but even the samples were a generous size. For main course I got one of the current options for the cheese wheel pasta they make in front of you in cacio e pepe and my husband got the formaggi pizza with truffle mushrooms. My husband absolutely loved his pizza and the crust was one of the best he's ever had. My pasta was fresh and had a ton of sauce and cream so they didn't skimp at all. I could tell easily that they use very high quality Parmesan because i'm a Parmesan connoisseur and could taste how potent it was. They let me have as much extra as I wanted on without limiting since I enjoy a lot on it which was also a plus in my book. Next time I would get a pasta that's a little lighter, because it was a more heavy dish and it tends to make me feel pretty full after which is totally a me thing, but they have so much on the menu to try that I'm sure I'll love whatever I get even more next time. Lastly, dessert. We got a regular tiramisu and it was absolutely amazing. They put a ton of cream which is exactly what I look for. It wasn't too espresso or cocoa strong and had a perfect ratio. The cream was so light and fluffy that we had to get another one to bring home and eat tomorrow night! I had seen a previous review on here about someone not liking the tiramisu here and it not meeting their expectations for a more upscale Italian place but I've been to quite a few authentic Italian gems and this one had tiramisu up there so I'd have to disagree and completely recommend! The service was impeccable. Every waiter was kind and prompt, constantly making sure we were taken care of and getting what we needed. The atmosphere was also a plus for us because we have a 1 year old baby and there was enough room where we weren't too cramped or crowded in, and it wasn't too loud or overstimulating. The place was very clean and taken care of as well as the bathrooms. All in all, I loved this place and I will be coming back. I would definitely recommend Monello for a nice little date night, and don't forget the tiramisu.

It was a Friday evening and every restaurant on the street was full and vibrant. You could Yelp these places all day long and it would be hard to choose. There's so many great restaurants around Little Italy. Mimmo's reached out and called us in. There were pretty white tablecloths, the hostess was smiling ready to answer any questions and of course, the menu looked wonderful. Voilà! We'd found our spot. Our waiter was so personable and had all the answers to our inquiries. He suggested items and even answered honestly when needed. I got a Le Pécora Nera Sangria (fizzy blackberry with lemon). Tasty, but too many blackberry seeds coming up the straw. I'd get another one next time. For the appetizers: RISOTTO ARANCINI (a MUST get) - these were absolutely delicious. Four good size bread crumbed fried balls of risotto sitting in the restaurant's own tomato gravy. HOMEMADE FOCACCIA WITH DIPPING OIL (yes, that's the official name) - this is a basket of super soft, warm focaccia bread for a great price. I would get it no matter what main course you're getting! It soaks up every sauce and it's just delicious. MAIN: BAKED LASAGNA (meat) - with the two appetizers this is the perfect size for both of us. No need to get one per person! It was absolutely wonderful. I would get it again. All in all, I'd definitely go back. The food was absolutely delicious and flavorful and the employees we came in contact with were great as well. We didn't want to sit at a table right next to the hundreds of people walking by, I don't like that, but there are plenty other options one row in or inside the restaurant. A solid recommendation on my part.

The whole hostess staff had great smiles on their faces and they were very welcoming. After about two minutes of sitting down, our server came to ask us if we needed time to look over the menu. We said yes but that we wanted a Foccacia Bread table starter. She smiled and immediately went to put the order in. A few few minutes later she came back and we ordered our drinks for dinner: Raspberry Italian Soda, Orange Crush with Fresh Cream on top, and a non-alcoholic spritz. After we got our drinks and sip on them, it took us a bit of time to decide what we wanted. We all know that the burger here is fantastic! However, this evening, we decided to try new things. We ordered: Pappardelle Bolognese with Added Meatballs, Pappardelle Bolognese as it is normally prepared, and a Caesar salad with shrimp added. Our food was out within about 10 to 15 minutes and everything was prepared perfectly. I have to say that we really enjoyed dining in this location and we may need to come back here more instead of traveling to the Del Mar location sometimes. Our server was super customer service oriented and we appreciated her. She went above and beyond to get the orange crush drink to be unique like an Italian soda for my daughter. We were super stuffed and could not do dessert, but we did promise to come back to enjoy the lava cake at a future time.
