Love this place for its fresh fish and great services and hospitality. The place is always cleaned and the food tastes consistently great. They have tons of options (raw protein & cooked protein) for any poke bowls. I think their price is very reasonable compared to the many other poke places in the city and they're very generous with their toppings. I've come here twice already and love it! The atmosphere is very nice and the decorating is extremely cute. The workers are super friendly and helpful if you have questions about anything. I love the idea of choosing half and half portions. For example I could do half cooked salmon and half chicken for my protein, giving me more variety in my bowl. I recommend edamame noodles; they are healthy and taste well with spicy mayo sauce. The portion sizes are quite big and you get complimentary miso soup with your order. I'll start with the disclaimer that I've never eaten at a poké restaurant before, so take my review with a grain of salt. This place just recently opened down the street from my office and my coworkers and I have been anxious to try it. There is a lot of fresh options to choose from, including cooked options for those that prefer non-raw food such as myself. What's really nice is that you have a choice between white rice, brown rice, zucchini noodles, edamame noodles, or salad as your base. You can also do a combo of two of those if you prefer. Then you add other ingredients to your liking or pick combos already on the menu. There is a variety of different sauces, all of which you are able to taste before adding it to your dish. I got white rice, shredded chicken, cilantro, and garlic with a spicy ponzu sauce...I like things simple. The flavor was good, but the chicken was dry. I got the small size bowl for lunch, which was more than enough food. To be honest, I'd rather have this in a smaller size as a side dish rather than a full meal. But that's just me. The meal also comes with free miso soup. The miso soup was pretty lackluster though. My coworkers seemed to thoroughly enjoy themselves though and would rate this place 3-4 stars. They all said that they would eat there again. In all, the food was ok, but I thought it was a little pricey for what I ordered. I'm so happy to see another poke place popping up in the Katy area! The Katy Asian town is not fully operating yet, but this place is. It seems to be a little pricey, but well worth it. Everything tastes super fresh, plus they give you nearly equal amounts of protein/toppings as the base. It's my first time trying out edamame noodle, and it's SOOOOO good! I left feeling full and healthy. Plus the waitress was cute and spoke softly :) They even have free miso soup to make it a complete meal. I'm more than satisfied and will definitely come back! Ordered the Traditional and Hawaiian. Tasted great but my issue with this place are their portions. The large order says there are three scoops of protein but I would say it's much smaller. When the employees were measuring out each of the ingredients there was no scoop or measuring cup, they just eyeballed it and as a result even our two bowls had different amounts of food. Ventured to Katy Asia Town for the first time with my sister and she raves about this Poke place so I decided to give it a try. I liked how it had cooked salmon as an option but they did not have tempura shrimp like Umaki. Instead, the shrimp was just boiled shrimp. They also didn't have the lotus root that my sister kept talking about the day we went. I got the miso dressing and added all the plentiful toppings that they had. You also get a free miso soup with your bowl which is an added plus! Overall, it's a good and flavorful poke place! Definitely give it a try! read more

There are plenty of options at this poke place for toppings and even the base -- it's the only poke place I've been to that offers zucchini noodles, which was awesome while I visited in the midst of my Whole 30 challenge! Very fresh produce and fish, and an abundance of sauces too. But if you're as overwhelmed when presented with too many options like I am, there are also preset bowls to pick from as well. When we first walked in, the smell of the restaurant threw us off but we decided to stay and give it a try. And boy am I glad we did because my creation was delicious! You start off by picking your bowl size, then white rice, brown rice, spring mix or noodles. I did half white rice and half spring mix. Then it goes to your proteins, there's yellowtail, salmon, tuna, tofu, shrimp, chicken or cooked salmon. Then you pick you sauces and toppings. I have never had a poke bowl before I came here. . I have to say I will only have a poke bowl from Square Root Poke from now on. If I went anywhere else I'm sure I would be disappointed. I hate to leave negative comments but I have to mention that their Poke bowl was the worst out of all the Poke bowls I have tried. I have been to many Poke places in the Houston area and most of them were pretty good or at least "OK" so I was very surprised that I actually didn't like their food and ended up throwing away after several bites. First of all, their poke tastes bland. My friend got my food as a to-go order so I did not get to see how much sauces and drizzles they put but my friend said she actually mixed two different sauces and two drizzles and my food still tasted like nothing. Also, my friend decided to visit this place for me while she was around the area because she found their "50% off on one bowl" promotion. When my friend was ready to pay after my food was made and packed, the cashier said she doesn't know how to apply the discount and made my friend pay the full price. Both my friend and the cashier saw the promotion being available in the system but after the cashier did something, the promotion was gone and she did not know how to retrieve it. My friend didn't want to make this a big deal so she ended up paying the full price. The cashier took my friend's name so she can order next time with the same promotion but since I did not enjoy their food, I am not sure if it would be worth of going back. read more
