The name of this place is Epic by Itself. The food is also good. I try to Eat here whenever I am in the area. This is a Very Small restaurant and is normally full. I have never had a wait though. I have tried quite a few different things on the menu and have only had a few Items I didn't like. Personally I am not a fan of the Mac and Cheese but that is probably just my strange tastebuds. Coffee is the usual weak stuff you'll find at most places like this, basically cheap brewed Maxwell ground coffee. The place oozes "local". Food is ok but the service is great. Seems like a local mom and pop restaurant so everyone is nice there. I love their country fried steak breakfast but their steak and eggs dish was pretty awful, the steak wasn't seasoned. My friend said their cheeseburger was well seasoned and their blueberry pies are pretty good except for the fact that it was served cold but on a hot plate. Great hole in the wall (diner, drive-in, dive) type restaurant that was featured on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Very reasonable prices. Tight fit if there is a lot of people but they seem to have a quick turn over by getting the food out rather quickly. (Sunday is their busiest day FYI) It's a local spot so if you're in town, I would recommend it over the touristy places that are have much higher prices. Food was tasty. A local favorite and classic, I had breakfast at Squat and Gobble and loved it. Egg white omelete with cheese, grits, and hash browns. It was all excellent and the waitresses were very kind. These is in a neat location - down in old town Bluffton - and is definitely a place to grab a bite to eat if you are looking for a quick, inexpensive fix. It is a diner, so it isn't quite a gourmet lineup, but they have great breakfast and some good southern comfort food. read more

What an outstanding place! I like the fact is not corporate owned which allows for a unique menu choice and the prices are fair too. Also I like the fact that if an item is not listed on the menu, you can request something and if it can be made they will do it for you. I went over the weekend with my husband.. the fat older waitress was so rude, and had the most disgusting attitude. She didn't even greet us with a good morning it was " what do you want ? " I should have left at that point we decided to order and it took more than a 1/2 hour for our food to arrive it was not only bland, mediocre and tasteless but just plain not worth it , this fat older waitress never came back to check on us before , during or once we were finished . Instead her other 2 co-workers an older thin lady and another heavy -set younger waitress were the ones that were helpful . I have traveled to many different , states and outside the country numerous times on a yearly basis and this individual was nasty with a horrific attitude, I have never experienced this kind of customer service in other places. let's not forget I got a stomach virus the day after eating that so - called breakfast ( let's just say I was in the bathroom all day and was unable to eat anything else) , I guess that's what I get for eating in a small town shack. read more
