Good food, service was okay, I think we ended up with a waitress who was more focused on other things than waiting tables.

Just ok. Wouldn't recommend it with so many other great restaurant in Hilton head. Small portions. Quality just okay.

You know that kind of night when you want a nice dinner and a bottle of wine at a nice place.....of course we can't have that in the spring of 2020.

The food was hot like it was supposed to be or cold like it was supposed to be. It was really good clean thank you for the service. The service was excellent and it was clean and well maintained. Hubby and I were going for comfort food. Our waitress was pleasant enough but could have checked on us because hubby wanted another cup of coffee, which didn't happen. I ordered the meatloaf dinner, which came with soup or salad - I chose the chicken noodle soup which was the star of the meal. Definitely tasted homemade. Hubby ordered the French Dip with French fries. Both main dishes were good but unfortunately not warm enough temps to make it better. After waiting an unreasonable amount of time for the check, hubby finally got up and went to the manager, who provided it. He acknowledged the problem with our waitress not being there and I mentioned the temperature problem with our meals. We've eaten here in the past, but after viewing the empty parking lot and diner, we should have known better and not gone in. This is the last time we'll visit this location unless there's a major change.

It doesn't feel corporate or manufactured at all. More like you've stumbled into somebody's lovingly chaotic backyard dinner party where the food just happens to be genuinely top-tier. The mismatched charm, handwritten feel, and warm atmosphere are part of what makes it so special. There's this brilliant contrast between the laid-back hole-in-the-wall vibe and the seriously refined cooking coming out of the kitchen. We started with the fried green tomatoes which were incredibly tender, fried perfectly, and drizzled with a lovely house-made ranch. The sweet house pickles alongside were such a good touch. We also each had a cup of she crab soup which was beautifully seasoned and packed with tonnes of crab morsels. For mains, we shared the shrimp and grits and completely understood why the recipe has won awards, including being recognised as the 3rd best in the world. The recipe is rooted in traditional Lowcountry cooking but elevated with layers of flavour that somehow still feel comforting and homemade. The grits were unbelievably creamy, and the shrimp and sausage were perfectly cooked with fantastic flavour throughout. We also split the seafood purloo with blackened grouper, and it was equally impressive. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted incredibly fresh without trying too hard to be fancy. What really made the experience though was the staff. Everyone went above and beyond. They took time to chat with us about the area, paced the courses perfectly so nothing felt rushed, and by the end we were leaving with handshakes feeling more like guests than customers. Places like this are getting harder to find. We'll absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for authentic Lowcountry food served by genuinely wonderful people.

I tried the Sand Dollar latte, it was so good. 10/10. We were seated quickly, and they have a nice indoor dining area, and a lovely outside patio. Service was very quick, as we also ordered breakfast. I had their omelet with hashbrowns and toast. Nice portion sizes, and very good! Best of all was the price. Very reasonable. This place goes on our list of regular stops on HHI. Give it a try!

Somehow, we still waited 35 minutes just to be seated. After finally sitting down, we ordered immediately and then waited over 40 more minutes for food that wasn't even hot. To make matters worse, two of the orders were wrong. The pancakes came out with no syrup, and our server was basically nonexistent, only showing up twice in an hour, so we had to get up and get it ourselves. The poached eggs on the fourth meal were severely undercooked and practically raw. What made the experience even worse was having two young children with us who were completely melting down by the end because everything took so long. A restaurant should know better than to leave families sitting that long with no urgency, no communication, and no follow-up. What should have been a simple breakfast turned into a two-hour waste of time with bad service, poorly prepared food, and zero attention to detail. There is no excuse for this level of incompetence. I would absolutely not recommend this place.
