If you are into (read: can tolerate) bold flavors and lots of spice, SriPraPhai is a restaurant you'll appreciate. Nice exterior with a small parking lot. My first impression upon entering the restaurant: Cold! I wished I had a light jacket with me; it was rather chilly inside (for context, it was an early summer evening and I was wearing a blouse and denim shorts). I ordered the Tom-Yum Shrimp soup to help warm myself up. It was delicious and hit the spot. The soup itself was somewhat spicy, and there were generous amounts of mushrooms with the shrimp. The pork belly was tasty and had good flavor on its own, and it tasted even better dipped in the sauce that it came with (not spicy; had more of a sweet and sour taste). The soft shell crab was crispy and also had amazing flavor (like I said, this place is for those who like their bold flavors!). However, I could not tolerate more than several bites of the soft shell crab because I felt it became too spicy. And we ordered it to be MILD. I have a rather weak tolerance to spice, and if you think you do too, then... Go with the mild. I think you'll thank yourself later. I had the mango jelly for dessert to get rid of the spicy aftertaste. It had a cooling effect, if you will, with some sweetness. I appreciate that the restaurant takes COVID precautions seriously, in that the servers all wore masks AND gloves. Even though most places are becoming less strict with COVID precautions, I think the fact that SriPraPhai has not loosened up shows consideration for those who may still be wary. 3.5 Stars Ordered a couple of items for take out and just found their food to just be average. Maybe the experience dining in would be better? - Drunken noodles with beef: actually liked the noodles itself cause the texture was perfectly cooked and the noodles were wide but also long. They gave much more noodles than ingredients (beef/veggies). There were lots of chili flakes so it was pretty spicy, which I enjoyed but definitely ask them to make it more mild if you can't handle spice. - Fried fish - Crispy Chinese watercress salad: I've never had fried watercress before and this was pretty unique. They separated the fried watercress from the sauce/wet ingredients which had some shrimp and squid. It had good flavors when mixed together. - Fried fish with green mango sauce: they didn't clarify on the type of fish but it was fine. Again, they separated the sauce from the fish so that the fish maintained its crisp. It was unfortunately on the dry side and the sauce was just okay. I did like the slices of green mango which added a refreshing taste. - Green curry: I was surprised that this didn't come with rice. For being only in a container the size of a quart and ~$15, I don't think this was worth it. The flavors were just okay and it had more veggies than meat. We live nearby and have come to this restaurant many times to dine out or takeout over the years. The food is worsening though. Just ordered TAMARIND DUCK takeout and it wasn't half a duck, more like a quarter of a duck... for $23? If we were dining in, 100% would have returned it. My husband is Thai so I've been around my share of authentic Thai food and this place is the real deal. They've recently underwent a small face-lift changing their wall colors from a bright green to a cozy burgundy but the food is still the same as before, delicious. Papaya Salad - sweet, spicy, salty. I'd recommend medium spice. I always love that refreshing spicy bite at the end and it goes well with all their dishes. Drunken Noodle with Chicken - if you're a fan of curry-based dishes you'll love these noodles with crunchy fresh peppers and basil. Soft shell crab with fried Basil - it's not soft shell crab season in November which may be why it didn't taste like it came right out of the ocean but it was still crunchy and delicious. BBQ Pork Salad - Cilantro, mint, garlic and lime...drooling yet? So fatty, chewy and fresh. Service was a bit slow but all good things come to those who wait, am I right? I've ordered from this place a number of times and each time, it's just OK. Dishes are a hit or a miss so we don't really explore other dishes on the menu. The dishes we often get are the drunken noodles and pad see ew. The pad thai, bbq chicken and calamari are OK. I think what makes it worse is that it's on the more pricey side. The curries are good but I think we had to buy rice since it didn't come with it. I think that's a first. If you're craving thai, SriPraPhai will probably be in the discussion but don't expect the same quality as the Woodside location. read more

We visited this restaurant for the first time because they have branch in Queens also and we liked their food. The waitress here taking the order was so rough as she was forced to work or she was in rush. Her speaking style was like she didn't care. We even mentioned if she was in rush from the way she was talking to us. She didn't respond properly and we felt she didn't want to serve us. Not feeling welcomed we told her we will leave. We were regular customers of this place for ten to fifteen years -- including during quarantine when they had only takeout -- but I just don't think it's worth going anymore. The service is really poor, because you don't get your own server based on your table. Instead, whoever is free at that moment is supposed to help you, and as a result, you often get no service at all, because no one noticed you need it, while others around you get attention. The menu hasn't been updated in years except to raise prices, there are no specials, and they want you to tip in cash. Very frustrating! read more

Came here for dinner, very nice interior decor. The place was pretty packed out on a Friday night. We sat had a table for 4 and started ordering some drinks and appetizers. We started with wine, had some pork dish for an app, had beef satay and also got shrimp fried rice. For my entree I had drunken noodles with beef. The beef drunken noodles were okay, I requested extremely spicy wasn't as spicy as I thought it would be. The pork and beef satay were absolutely delicious. The only reason this place is not receiving 5 stars from me is because of the service. Everything took forever, especially the drinks and they had included tomatoes in my drunken noodles when I said no tomatoes. Came to this location for the first time a few weekends ago when the in-laws were in the area. This location definitely feels calmer than their location in Woodside, with the same menu and I would say the same level of quality as well. I had their vegetarian Chiang Mai noodle dish, which was a sizable portion and pretty good. We had also shared an order of their vegetarian curry puffs as well as a Thai salad, both which were also pretty good. Unfortunately, they forgot to bring out my MIL's dish, but thankfully, we weren't charged for it. Seems like they completely forgot about her order, which happens, and she thankfully had enough to eat as well. Best Thai food I've had in a while!! My friend and I ordered the vegetable spring rolls to start-and we couldn't get over how fresh tasting and delicious they were! I had the chicken pad see ew and my fiend had the red curry, and both were equally amazing. To be honest, their food doesn't set them apart from other Thai restaurants. The reason for the 5 stars is the hospitality. It was about 8PM & I called to confirm they were still open and seating. They told me their kitchen closes at 8:30PM so as long as I arrived before then. We arrived at about 8:20PM and the restaurant was still pretty crowded. We quickly put in our orders so we didn't have to hold up the kitchen: * Chicken Curry Puffs ($9) - always can't go wrong! The puff pastry was yummy and flaky, and curry inside was yummy as well! * Tom Yom Soup, small ($6) - thought it was kinda odd that there were mushrooms, but not complaining! * Pad Thai, shrimp ($13) - always a staple whenever I eat Thai, didn't disappoint! * Red Curry, chicken ($13.50) - based on our waiter's recommendation. So yummy and had a bit of a kick also! Although we were seated in a corner, we were never left unattended! They came at least 5 times to fill up our water glasses. After the apps, we waited maybe 10 minutes or so for our entrees, when our waiter apologized for the wait and brought out another drink on the house! We decided to have a double date with our best friends and did not want to go to one of our usual places. We stopped in to SriPraPhai, we were greeted immediately and seated rather quickly. The menu is great, a lot of choices and I appreciate the fact that there are pictures of what each dish looks like. We ordered a few different dishes. Ths drinks menu is also nice. We enjoyed the Singhas beer, nice and cold and delicious. The white sangria tasted so good, made me feel like I was on vacation. The food came out quickly. Appetizer sampler was a nice assortment, we loved everything in there. The soft shell crab was crunchy and seasoned beautifully. The basil fried rice both spicy and not spicy is perfection. My wife and I just had a meal at this restaurant. We shared a papaya salad. She ordered a trout pad-led special and I had a sauté Pad Agra-Prow chicken. We ordered medium spicy for all the dishes and that's how the dishes came. Everything was delicious. The service were excellent. The room was very comfortable, but the sound does travel. Not sure what is going on with the service but we went there last Saturday to dine in. The waitress put us in a middle table which was sandwiched tight between two other customer tables. When we asked to move the waitress said she had to ask the manager and when we asked for a window seat she he said it was reserved. Note during our dining the window seats were not in use therefore not reserved as she claimed. The order was incorrect as we got pineapple chicken noodle instead of the Thai basil we ordered and in the end the check was incorrect! Another waitress confirmed we were charged for another table's meal by mistake! During lockdown, this place had been doing take-away service. But it had surprised my date & I that this place was doing sit down dining indoors. If you have ever had any concerns about eating indoors, SriPraPhai should alleviate them. Social distancing & mask wearing is enforced in this place. One maybe two other parties were in the dining hall, but everyone was spaced out significantly. The only time I saw someone with a mask off was when they were seated and eating. All staff wore masks (some wore face shields too) This place has top notch Pad Thai & Northern Style Curry Noodles (had on previous occasions), but since it was my date's first time in a restaurant since lockdown (as myself), we decided to mix things up. I was recommended Kao Soy, and my date ordered Crispy Pork Belly (pictured). Maybe it's the 4 month drought of not eating in a restaurant, but WOW! Everything tasted fresh & delicious. I HIGHLY recommend this place if you love, or even new to Thai food. The servers are great with suggestions if you're unsure about something. The only issue is, you have to order WAY and I mean WAY in advance because the wait is typically very long. We have been told to pick up our food in 45 minutes, to wait another 45 minutes for it. I hate leaving bad reviews but this is honestly the worst thai restaurant ive ever been to. Ive never had a thai fried rice so bland before. The rice wasnt terrible just bland. However me and all my friends really disliked the pad see ew, the beef was a thickly sliced cut and just was bad i got meat adversions instantly. The only good thing was the crispy chicken wing apetizers. Ive had massaman curry so many times and idk, it was just the worst ive ever had so was the rice and the pad see ew. Oh my goodness. One word Fantastic ! Yes , found my go to Thai here in LI. Beautiful warm decor with comfy couches. And kid friendly restaurant. Ordered this chicken and crabmeat concoction and taro w peanuts app ( for those who don't like taro.. trust me it doesn't taste like taro. Tastes more like french fries, I got my husband who really hates taro to try and he ate the whole thing) -incredible huh ? Anyways the Tom yum soup came with 3 pieces of jumbo shrimp. -Amazing it was tangy and spicy just the way it's supposed to be. The beef salad spice level Spicy was superb. I can take spice but this dish actually got me teary from the spice... hmm. Writing this review is making me salivate thinking of it. SPP use fresh strawberries in their mojitos and not some puree. And their lychee martini is wow! STRONG. - no complaints here. Hehe Oh and my other half ordered some spicy basil pork dish that the very attentitive server had recommended which was very good. I've been going to their Woodside, Queens location for years! It's nice to see them branch out to other locations. Their Woodside location is always packed and you usually have to wait for a table. This Williston Park location is much calmer; still pretty crowded but you really don't have to wait for a table. Their enormous menu is the same as the one in Woodside but the prices seem to be slightly higher. My one complaint is that their entrees do NOT come with rice and you have to order it separately. In my opinion, each entrée should automatically come with rice! Another good thing about this location: they take credit cards!! (Woodside location is cash only). This review is actually for take-out. I called in our order and the food was ready in about 15 minutes....so fast! Here is what was for dinner tonight: ~ Crispy watercress salad with seafood and chicken ($12.50) - amazingly delicious and zesty! the crispy watercress salad is kept separate from the seafood and chicken so that the crispiness is not altered until you're ready to chow down. This is one of the tastiest salads I've ever had....a MUST TRY! ~ Green Curry Chicken ($11.00) - I always order this whenever I'm here (or at Woodside). I just can't seem to get enough of this dish....definitely one of my fav dishes. Sooo tasty!! ~ Brown Rice ($1.75) - their brown rice is mixed with red rice.....so satisfying and delicious! Unlike any other brown rice I've had at other restaurants. All in all, a delicious meal. I prefer to eat at the restaurant, but this is the first time we ordered take-out. I've been here a few times with family and/or friends, and we always get impeccable service and delicious food. On this visit we started off with shrimp puffs (sweet sauce on the side), and chicken skewers (peanut sauce on side), both cooked to Perfection, served hot. For entrees, we had the vegetarian fried rice, beef tendon stew with rice noodles, sauteed Chinese broccoli with crispy pork belly, massaman Curry, and an impressive whole red snapper fish. Everything was absolutely superb! We asked for no spicy, since we had kids with us, and they delivered exactly as we ordered. For dessert, I tried the pumpkin custard (tastes much like a Chinese egg custard, not too sweet, I highly recommend), and the cassava with coconut milk (a bit mealy, but if you like taro, this one's for you). My daughter had the agar-jellies molded like cute characters (like Mickey... but these had a funky texture. Skip unless you are used to agar-agar jellies). Compliments to the chef! Felt like second-class citizens Our Asian-Hispanic family came for an early dinner on a Saturday. The table we got, near the waiting area, just next to a pillar was definitely not as nice as those inside in the back, which had much fancier decorations and lighting. Our waitress was not very helpful or interested when we asked her for recommendations. Since their menu offers a very large selection (and photos were very helpful), we needed more time and first ordered appetizers (seafood papaya salad, raw shrimps) and drinks. When our drinks came out, we ordered our main dishes (roasted duck green curry, soft shell crabs in chilly sauce, som-tum set combo and combo of marinated pork). As we started eating our appetizers, they brought our main dishes, which made us feel very rushed when the restaurant was only half full. Best dish hands down was the soft shell crab followed by the papaya salad. Other dishes had flavors but lack sharpness or refinement. It surely didn't hit the spot. During our entire dinner, I noticed that white guests systematically were assigned the best tables in the back, which was extremely disappointing. If you want a much better culinary experience and be treated fairly, I'd recommend Ugly Baby or Boran Thaï Brooklyn. read more

Cold food after 1 hour wait. We were seated at 7 and got our food around 8:15 and it was COLD. Which means our food had been ready for a while just sitting in the kitchen. I told our waitress and they went to microwave our food and when she brought it back it was only slightly warm with cold parts in the middle. Our drinks also took about 30 minutes to get and when I ordered a 2nd drink I never got it but did get charged for it. It's unfortunate because the food is actually very good. I'm not sure what happened but when i went here recently, I noticed that not only did the prices go up, but it looks like they skimped out on the beef/chicken when we ordered certain dishes, like the drunken noodles. As much as we want to celebrate Christmas Eve on this location, we have decided to enjoy their delicious food in the comfort of our home. When I suggested the place to my son who is following his girlfriend's healthy living style for being a vegan/vegetarian, he said yes right away. This is one of the few restaurants in the area with vegan/vegetarian option. For the sensitive palate family members, the following were ordered which by the way were enjoyed by our ordinary palate: vegetable drunken noodles- it was satisfying more than I imagine tofu/vegetable red curry- spiciness was exceptionally good and heavenly enjoyed by all mock duck salad- the imitation duck was convincing, the dressing with the hint of ginger satisfied my craving for a good salad For the rest of us (family of six), these were ordered: sautéed seafood- it was done simply exciting to eat sweet and sour red snapper- it's crispiness was one of the best fried fish I have for a really long time and its sauce complimented the fish - if you'll be ordering more than one fish, make sure to ask for the sauce that comes with it. bbq chicken - it was the only thing that I did not like....the herbs and spices used did not meet my expectation. The staff is so friendly! Their menu is huge, so many different options. I ordered the curry puffs, which are my go to app! They came in an order of 3, my partner & I gobbled them up. I ordered drunk noodles with beef, the waitress asked me if I wanted spicy and I said yes! But the level of spicy is no joke...so make sure you get medium if you can't stand the heat. Oh... I almost forgot I got the papaya salad without shrimp. So light & refreshing...highly recommend, unless you have a peanut allergy. The vibe is great, the staff personable and the food hits the spot.
