For the average Branson, MO tourist SS Dockside Cafe and Pub is not even on their radar and that is a shame and a mistake. Sitting on the opposite (western) end of Table Rock Lake from that tourist haven, this floating restaurant is located at the Kings River Marina. It can be reached by boat or by driving 35 miles from Branson and it is worth every single mile driven to get there. The interior is fashionably rustic with walls constructed from reclaimed barn siding. There is a large piece of driftwood plucked from the lake with a boulder still trapped in the clutches of the root ball that hangs from the ceiling over the bar area as a large objet d'art. It is a beautiful place with large picture windows looking out on the water and the cliffs on the far shore. This being a dockside restaurant in a busy working marina we fully expected the menu to be burgers, club sandwiches, and chicken strips but were pleasantly surprised by what we found in the offering. While you can get a burger at SS Dockside Cafe & Pub my table instead had fried shrimp, spicy barbecue shrimp, shrimp scampi, fried pickles, king crab, prime rib au jus with horseradish sauce, rice pilaf, mashed potatoes, and salad. We were not disappointed in a single bite. We gleefully stuffed our faces and barely had room to finish the desserts of cheese cake with chocolate sauce or cherries and chocolate lava cake. Service was prompt and friendly. I will definitely visit again the next time I am anywhere near this area. read more

Well we selected this restaurant based on the posted reviews but missed the fact that there were only 20 reviews. In hindsight I believe the posted review were shill reviews by owner and staff. First off you cannot park next to the restaurant and the adjacent parking area has like 4 short flights of stairs to reach the door. Once inside you realize that this was hastily put together with some flimsy props and really doesn't follow a theme. Overall the staff was pleasant but not exactly focused on the customer. The appetizer I ordered well before we ordered entrees never arrived at the table until all the food came out. Shen I commented about it she was argumentative and said that is how they do it! Most of the food was undercooked and lacked flavor and had no eye appeal. I don't know who's idea it was to have a photographer trying to move patrons around to photograph them, and then try to sell them to you, but it was misguided and only detracted from a very mediocre experience. If that wasn't enough the server hovers over you while you select the tip amount on the handheld credit card machine. Overall don't waste your time and money, it's just a tourist trap restaurant milking family's for their last buck. read more

We went with a group of 13 (10 adults and 3 children) on a Friday night in Branson. We did call ahead to see if we even stood a chance of getting a table and they said they could get us seated in about 20-30 minutes. We honestly figured it would be closer to 45 minutes to an hour. Boy we're we wrong! They seated us in 20 minutes and a server was there right away to get our drinks. We all ordered different items and everybody loved their meals!! The wait staff was phenomenal and I will definitely be visiting again as there was more than one entree I wanted to try. read more

Clearly this not the the same place it used to be. It was not good. The waiter was top notch. The food was less than average. Out of burnt ends. Had to reorder 15 min after ordering the first time. It takes that long to figure out you don't have an entre' after ordering via computer? Ordered pulled pork sandwich. Cold pulled pork, very average bbq sauce, with stone cold toasted bun. Gross! I don't understand how you can get a good review sending food like this to the customer with a big price attached. Not coming back. read more

Decided to eat here and left satisfied! The bar was open so ordered an amaretto sour and the shrimp with mango and wild rice. Large portions, very tasty, and fresh. Fast service! The fried cod with fries was fresh and delicious. My daughter also complimented the fish taco's. It was a little pricey but expected for three people ordering appetizers, a mixed drink, and dinners. They've obviously moved locations because they definitely aren't on the water; there isn't a patio or boat parking either. We went in for lunch on a Saturday afternoon and we're seated in the bar. I chose this place based on the Yelp photos of their patio and their Yelp review. We had to wait 15 min just to be seated. Then was told what I should drink an not what I wanted. The server Jeremy was rude and very pushy . Repeatedly told us that everything is amazing or great. The crab dip appetizer was some kind of fish flavored cream cheese with more melted cheese on top. An it was served cool not hot. Clam strips were like eating a rubber band an the breaded fish was all under cooked bread an a 2in X 3 in piece of fish. Was told snow crab legs were large an sweet served with potatoes and corn. The legs were the size of a dungeness crab with claws smaller than a spider crab, 2 goofball size red potatoes and an over cooked corn cobbett. The crab hadn't been cleaned. It still had the lungs on it. Then the server Jeremy tried to tell me that I was cracking the crab wrong and approached my food nearly touching it. I have been cracking my own crab for over 40 years. I Don't need to be taught how to do it. Then 10 min into the meal he returned again telling us that f we put the credit card out he would come back and take it. My husband an I were told this 4 times within 20 minutes an so we're the 4 other diners. I will NEVER go back or recommend this place. read more

I'm only giving a 4 instead of a 5, because of the sides. They are not impressive, and they need more options. However, the shrimp trio was delicious! The butterflied shrimp and the sweet and spicy shrimp were amazing! Also, the coconut shrimp was great that my mother had! Cooked perfectly and large shrimp!! A great addition to Branson! My husband had the shrimp trio and thoroughly enjoyed it. They were short staffed so we had to wait for a table which I appreciated because they were not overseating their servers. This allowed our sever Cory to give us phenomenal service! If this review was based on service, customer experience and the seafood alone it would be an easy 5 stars! Turns out there are several locations and this one is in the middle of the Branson Boardwalk. At first the variety of options was a little off-putting, but our party on nine order a variety of food and all the plates were awesome. This place is an great place to try. read more

Not an ounce of seasoning on a piece of food on 2 of our plates. The food was bland, taste did grease over anything. The catfish tasted like flour... the appetizer was subpar at best I could buy a tastier crab dip at Hyvee. The tarter sauce was legitimately Mayo and relish. the potatoes were severely undercooked. We entered the restaurant when one other table was here and we ordered right away and food didn't come for 30 minutes when everyone else's had already came out. The server made it very awkward when we asked for our dishes to be comped. He ended up only charging us for the appetizer but then made a snide remark about we needed to go to hobby lobby because their stuff is also 75% off. I am a newly diagnosed celiac and went here because there was a short wait and they offered sea food. Our waiter, Cory, was amazing!!! He was very knowledgeable about celiacs and pointed out the items I could eat in the menu and made sure the kitchen knew all my restrictions. He was really good with the five kids we had with us and made our experience exceptional!!! The food was really good too and they have lots of options!!! It was our first visit and we were so impressed with this place! First off, the greeter and wait staff were so friendly. Then the menu- such great choices from Cajun, seafood, Mexican, and American. I ordered the chicken nachos and could believe how HUGE the plate was! It was delicious! I was only sad that I could even eat 1/2 of them! The chicken was so flavorful and the presentation was perfect. The prices were mostly between $10-15, which we thought were very reasonable. They also have a great kids' menu. There was a terrific balloon twister on site and a photographer and on Tuesday evenings, they will be having a magician! SS Dockside is such an amazing experience! Can't wait to go back! read more

Only thing better than the food was the service! Jeff is awesome! Super friendly guy and took extra time with our 2-1/2 year old. My wife and I decided to get seafood one night in Branson we were going to go to Landry's but were turned away because of booked reservations we were pleasantly surprised surprised at dockside because of the great food and also just of the atmosphere as well so I'd highly recommend the shrimp trio While my wife really enjoyed the bourbon glaze salmon the only reason we gave it up for us because the service staff are spread thin we didn't get served quite frequently but other than that great place great food read more

we went in, and was shocked at how quiet it was.. no music and quiet. the server told us she would give us extra ranch because we'd probably need it. she basically ordered it for us. then they charged us 50 cents extra for it. the sweet teas were 9 dollars each. food was dry and not very flavorful. but the male server was pretty nice. i don't recommend this restaurant! read more
