Got their ravioli. The sauce was delicious. The flexible & quick & pleasant service was comforting when I was looking for lunch on a busy work day. The ravioli was definitely better than any other delis - I am sick of other delis' flabby raviolis that are soaked in sauce leaving no flavor of the ravioli itself. But here, you can enjoy reasonable level of flavor and texture of ravioli. Although it is not sophisticated at all and not particularly wow - yet it tasted different from that of other quick food places for sure. Nice and homey, I would say. The sauce had a perfect seasoning balance and flavor. Nicely junky (!) but tasted real fresh ingredients. That is what I exactly wanted as a stress buster! There are two kinds of raviolis : beef and cottage cheese. And they can mix them if you like! (Of course, I ordered the mix :). I chose their "combo" sauce, after tasting a spoon of it. The combo sauce was a mix of tomato sauce, Alfred sauce and pesto sauce. There are two kinds of tomato sauces (mild and hot) . I choose the hot one. Satisfied!

Fusilli pasta with meat sauce, Alfredo and pesto

Located inside the St Lawrence Market at the back of the market. Found this Italian place that makes their own homemade pasta. Also did research and was highly recommended. Ordered a Fusilli pasta with meat sauce, Alfredo, and pesto sauce. That may sound weird with such a combo, but the flavor was pretty amazing. Alfredo and pesto isn't usually my go-to but mixed with marinara sauce (my favorite) it was really good. It was also very very cheesy! It wasn't too salty either. We shared it because it was quite filling.

Saw this place on ig reels and made the trip there. They were so friendly and passing out samples. For $18 you get a bowl of pasta and it is FILLING. I got all three sauces with spicy marinara sauce and cheese. Debit/cash only. You kind of go down the bar and order, limited seating.

Lasagna with red sauce and cheese ravioli with alfredo.

I was enticed by the look and smell of the pasta on offer for lunch, so I bought a portion of lasagna and the cheese ravioli with alfredo sauce. The serving sizes were huge and the prices more than reasonable, especially for a city as large at Toronto. I hate to say that the food looked a lot better than it tasted. The cheese ravioli was cooked well, but it had almost no flavor. The alfredo sauce was runny and so bland, in dire need of salt or garlic. Thankfully some cheese was added on top, or else this would've been absolutely flavorless. The lasagna was good, but the red sauce was far too sweet. It tasted more like a dessert than a savory pasta dish! I'm not a fan of sugary sauces, so this didn't suit my tastes at all. The lasagna had a good amount of cheese and a bit of meat, and it had much more flavor than the bland ravioli. Perhaps next time I'd try the cheese ravioli with the pesto, maybe it wouldn't be as sweet. It would be nice if the stand would let you try the sauce before you buy. I love pasta and the homemade kind is my favorite, but I'd take a pass on the food here. The employees were friendly, the portions huge and the prices more than fair, but I just didn't care much for the food.

    Homemade pasta...

He let us taste a few and it was hard to decide. Served hot with choices of toppings... the spinach ravioli won over my anti-spinach daughter!

    Fresh Fusilli Pasta dish!

The sign for FRESH pasta caught my eye and I had to try some. The employees offered a sample, which was delicious, but cold. We asked if they could heat up our meal if we ordered, and they confirmed. The fusilli pasta with vegetable marinara sauce was great. I got mozzarella cheese and some pesto sauce on top :) The portion size was definitely filling. My only critique- I would love if they offered chicken for non-beef eaters! Also pesto sauce would be delicious as well as a sauce.

I really wasn't impressed with my slice of pizza here. It tasted exactly like Domino's to me -- and I'm not a fan of Domino's. When you order a slice, they choose a big piece, warm it up, and then slice it in half so you can pick it up. That part is nice. I ended up not finishing mine. I ate the cheese off the top and threw the dough away. It had too much seasoning and not enough flavor. I'm hopeful that there are other better places in the St. Lawrence Market for lunch.

(not the best photo sorry) Small half and half ravioli with combo sauce, added meat sauce, with cheese

This pizza/pasta restaurant tucked away in the corner inside St. Lawrence market was a great new find. They have samples served beside their restaurant so you can try out their pasta before ordering. I got the small ravioli half and half, which you get both cheese and meat ravioli, and then got their "combo sauce" on top. 10/10 recommend their combo sauce. It's tomato, alfredo, and pesto all together, and I asked for some meat sauce as well. It was $13 all together. The small size was very filling. They also have a small market on the side where you can buy their pasta or sauces, so you can take it home and make some on your own!

Mixed ravioli (both cheese and meat) with meat sauce!

Really good pasta! The guy at the front gave my friend and I a sample before deciding on getting a full bowl. A lot of pasta so I'd say worth the price! If you're not allergic get the combo sauce (a mix of pesto, alfredo, and tomato!) as it's really tasty!

3.stars - Good for a quick lunch / dinner or for picking up home made pasta & sauces. The name is odd... on all my visits, I never saw a single person order Pizza or ice cream! Everyone gets the pasta as far as I can tell. Located in the back of the market by Buster Sea Cove, line ups move quickly and there is plenty of seating throughout the market to enjoy your pasta. All the pastas are homemade - cheese or meat ravioli, tri-coloured spaghetti and various other pasta shapes. Definitely better than typical downtown food court options. Sauces are rather good as well for quick takeout - I personally love the simple tomato sauce. You can also select a meat sauce, white Alfredo sauce or a pesto option. Spicy versions also available. There is a "cult" following for their combo sauce - tomato, pesto and Alfredo mixed together - you can get it on your pasta or in a container to bring home. They charge around $10 for a large bowl of pasta and sauce. Given the fresh ingredients, I think its well worth it. They sell all their pastas and sauces separately so you can prepare later at home. Bags of their pasta can be up to $10-$12 but that appears to be the price to pay for fresh made pasta and sauces. Check it out next time your in the market. Not exactly high end Italian dinning but above average... BK

Cooked Meat ravioli with meat sauce and extra cheese. Always get their cooked raviolis, not raw ones.

This place gets a solid 4.5/5 for its authentic southern Italian food and very friendly & attentive…read moreservice. It has a very homey, old-school Italian American restaurant ambience - the opposite of the stylish, hipster or touristy restaurant vibe. Apparently this restaurants gets a lot of regulars, and I could see why. As soon as you walk in, you feel like you're transported back to the 1960s with the red-and-white checkered tablecloths, red chairs, old-style wax candles, brick walls, and a large black-and-white photo of an Italian family on the wall (perhaps the founder or owner's?). I could see this place being a movie set for films that need an old, classic Italian American restaurant as a setting. In addition to the décor, I love the 1960s music being played in the background. Size-wise, the inside of the restaurant isn't that big so it feels very cozy. It can get very busy and crowded after 5 pm, as most people seem to come here for dinner. We came during lunch hour and we were the only patrons there. The southern Italian touches are very apparent in most of their dishes - with heavy reliance on olive oil, tomato-based sauces (especially in the fish and seafood dishes), fresh seafood, herbs, peppers, and vegetables such as eggplant. This is in contrast to northern Italian cuisine that is characterized by rich, creamy dishes using butter, lard, and cheeses, and puts more emphasis on rice, polenta, and meat-heavy dishes (where as seafood is more prevalent in the south). Dishes that we tried: 1) Baccala (Pan-Seared Black Cod) - This was the BEST and my favourite dish here. The black cod had a crispy exterior and flaky interior, and came with roasted mini potatoes and mixed vegetables (zucchini, red bell pepper, Brussels sprouts, eggplant) roasted with garlic -- such a well-rounded and wholesome dish. The roasted mini potatoes were so flavourful, and the vegetables had a nice char. I asked for the puttanesca sauce on the side, as the fish was already flavourful on its own without the sauce. But the sauce was better than I expected - it contained actual whole chunks of cherry tomatoes and olives. 2) Steamed Mixed Fish & Seafood in Tomato Sauce - This dish wasn't on the website menu, but it was on the printed menu in the restaurant. It reminded me of cioppino (Italian-American mixed seafood stew with tomato sauce, herbs, and spices). It came presented as wrapped inside aluminum tin foil, which the server then opened in front of us on the table with steam coming out. The fish was salmon, and seafood consisted of mussels and shrimps. This dish was just alright. For almost $50, there wasn't much seafood. 3) Pizza Funghi - I liked the very thin and crispy crust, and the sliced roasted mushrooms as toppings, but I wasn't a fan of the "truffled honey" they added on top of the pizza. I didn't taste any truffle, and the honey made it very sweet. Not a fan of sweet pizza. 4) SIDES: Rapini, Brussels Sprouts, Mushrooms - They got bonus points for being able to customize the sides. They didn't have asparagus that day, so they substituted it for steamed Brussels sprouts with garlic instead - which was heavenly. The Brussels sprouts weren't overcooked at all, and they were generous with the garlic (anything with extra garlic gets extra thumbs up from me). The rapini came out chopped with a side of lemon wedge. Mushrooms weren't on the menu as a side, but we asked and they were able to make a simple side of just mushrooms. Overall the vegetables got 9/10. The chef was very friendly as he came out and talked to us. The server was extremely attentive. Great service overall.

We had 3 good pizzas and salads. We always have good food and service. It is very comfortable.read more
