We just bought a 2010 Honda Ridgeline from Mina. I drove a long way to see it and it was better than what he described on the phone, (he told me to trust him and I'm glad I did). He was also very transparent by showing me pictures of a dent it had before they painted it. I appreciated that. He also gave me a Carfax report that checked out perfectly. So me and my girlfriend went to St. Mina today to pick up her first car and let me tell you, they don't have the best dealer award for 5 consecutive years for no reason. The car we picked up was a steal! A good priced car with good miles on it. Henry, the sales manager, was very helpful and clear with the process of getting the car. My review is really belated, because it's based on my purchase with them that I had 6+ years ago at their previous location. These guys are great if you don't want any high pressure car sales. They come over to talk to you, but leave you be to look. Very unobtrusive in the shopping aspect. I paid for my car in cash, so I can't speak for any financing experience, but they were honest and refunded me the difference with the estimated DMV fees, which was sweet. My car was fabulous and I loved it. Which brings me up to my second experience. It came time to retire my car, and I had been shopping around. I'd had such a good experience with St. Mina, I took a look at what they had available that I could be interested in. I stopped in again last weekend to take a look and the owner remembered me!. I took a look at the car I was interested in and took it for a test drive. Unfortunately, I wasn't sold on that particular model, but thanked them for their time. No pressure or pushy car sales tactics, just like I'd experienced 6 years ago. If you want to support small businesses and want a much more relaxed experience, I'd highly recommend trying out St. Mina. This was my fourth experience buying a car from a used car lot, and it was by far the best! I have no doubt that I would return in the future to purchase another car, and will highly recommend this lot to friends and family in the market for a used car. I love my new (used) car! I bought a 2003 Nissan Altima in mid- October from this car lot, after much research and searching for the right car online via Autotrader and Cars.com. My previous car was totalled in an accident so I had been without a vehicle for approximately three weeks prior to coming here for this particular car. I had already gone to look at multiple cars before this one, but was constantly dissapointed when I actually saw the cars in person compared to the descriptions and pictures. This was most definitely NOT the case for this lot! The website shows more pictures than most other car lots that I had checked out, along with the free Carfax report, so there was no surprises when I arrived to test drive and purchase the car. Also, I had called ahead and spoke directly with the owner Mina regarding final pricing after all fees and taxes. He was clear and straight-forward, and all my questions and concerns were answered. So the next day, my husband, 2 year old, and I went to see the car. I like the fact that they let me test drive the car without a salesperson accompanying me; just a photocopy of my drivers' license, and off I went! My husband and I both took it on a separate test drive so as to not have to transfer the carseat just to test drive, and again, they had no problem with that at all. At this point, the actual buying process began. It was surprisingly fast and efficient. No unexpected charges or haggling. The price was exactly as Mina and I had discussed over the phone before coming down. I never felt like Mina was being pushy or dishonest in any way at all. He offered the warranty only once, and when I declined, that was it. No lecture or persuading after I said no. That was a first in my experience! I bought the car outright, so I have no input as far as their terms for financing. At the end of the purchasing process, Mina even gave my 2 year old son $10 back out of what I had paid in cash for the car, which was a nice gesture for sure! A couple weeks later, I had not received my DMV registration or pink slip, so I called Mina and asked about it. He was still very prfessional and polite and assured me that it had been placed in the mail the day prior. He told me if it did not arrive within a few days to call him back to fix the matter. Sure enough, it arrived in the mail the next day, along with a refund check of overpaid fees! Woohoo! All in all, a great experience, and my car is running perfectly, as I had no doubt it would! read more

This will most likely be a long review, so I'll state my conclusion up front: St. Mina's is great. I really can't say enough good things about them. This was my first time buying a car, so I was nervous. Super nervous. I think I'm a pretty savvy person and I can tell when I'm being scammed or strung along. But at the same time, I don't know a whole lot about cars, and all that comes along with them (loans, payments, etc). I was getting some advice from family over the phone, but at the end of the day, it was my responsibility to do the work. I drove the 40 miles to St. Mina's based on the ONE yelp review before mine. Almost every other car dealership I looked up had terrible reviews, so I was willing to drive a ways to hopefully have a good experience. At St. Mina's, they never tried to pressure me, or use any weird sales tactics, or trick me into buying a car. Most importantly, they didn't treat me like an idiot because I'm a female. I brought my boyfriend with me for moral support, but when I told them the car was for me, they addressed me and not him (I had read that many places will talk to the guy, no matter how many times you make it clear YOU, the girl, are the one buying the car). I decided to do my financing through the dealership, and that was painless. They set me up with a credit union that they said is really great and I will most likely be able to use again in the future. The guys at St. Mina's were totally transparent and willing to answer every one of my questions--and I had a lot of them. Again, I never felt like they were trying to trick me just to make a sale. They were honest with their pricing and double checked all the numbers with me, once the deal went through. I'm so happy with my experience with St. Mina's. Buying a new car will never be super fun for me, but they made it about as easy as it could possibly be. I highly recommend them--even though it's a bit of a drive for those who live in LA, it's so worth it to be able to deal with honest people. read more

Mina helps me with the radio anti-theft lock. God know how I made it locked, and mina helped me put the pastword on the glove already when I bought the car. Now it is already 2months and nothing wrong with any parts of the car. I need to change the oils, yeah? LOL. time flies..... All in all, Mina and his father are really good people with really good car, maybe you will find lower price from other dealer, but I think the car is definately not as reliable as theirs! The price of the 2007 Honda Fit I bought was already a pretty good deal in comparison to any other dealership in the SoCal area and while I didn't walk away with a great steal, I did walk away with a great deal as well as the joy of supporting Mac and his son's livelihood. He was kind, fair and shared with me facts that most other dealerships don't share when purchasing vehicles. There is a slight crack on the lower left corner of my windshield that he said he'd fix for me at no extra cost were it to get worse and he also processed all of the DMV paperwork for me so that I wouldn't have to go in myself and deal with what we all deal with upon entry to the DMV. Worked with them last week because I was getting sick of waiting around for CarGuru, CraigsList and EBay responses to my used car listing. Why wait around weeks on end when you can negotiate a very fair deal with St. Mina Auto Sales to purchase your car, take over title and clear you of the headache of an old used car. I've been to CarMax a few times in the past and each time I left with a bitter feeling in the pit of my stomach and a ferocious anger in wasted time to get an extremely low ball offer that makes you think your better off donating your car to goodwill than giving it to a company like that.
