Last Nov. my mechanic told me I needed an alignment because my front tires were wearing and he recommended Roger Daniel's place. I read a lot of the reviews on this site before scheduling to take my car in. I spoke to the owner before my car was worked on. He seemed like a nice, honest guy. We made small talk about how women are taken advantage of by auto repair places and how I don't trust the dealerships to work on my car because they sell you on getting work done that the car doesn't need. Less than 2 hours later he comes to tell me my car is done, but that I need to replace my damaged right outer cv boot ASAP. I have no idea how the mechanisms of the alignment & cv boot work. He tells me my car warranty may cover it. But if it doesn't, his shop can do the work and he'll do a re-alignment for free. So I talk to my husband & a friend after I got home. They both asked me DIDN'T THEY SEE THE DAMAGED CV BOOT WHEN THE CAR WAS ON THE LIFT . . . . . BEFORE THEY DID THE ALIGNMENT??? The next day I called the dealership, spoke to a service rep, who confirmed the cv boot was covered under my warranty & scheduled the work to be done. The car was sold with a damaged cv boot. They replaced it, plus gave me a loaner car to use while my car was in the shop. This service rep also taught me how things work and that yes, when the car was up on the lift they all saw the damaged cv boot BEFORE they started any work on the car. I just wish the tech who did the alignment SAW THE DAMAGED CV BOOT BEFORE he did the alignment and that they told me about it!!! I won't be going back to this shop for any work to be done on any of our cars & trucks in the future and I won't be giving any recommendations to family & friends for this place. read more

This was my first time in this shop. I found it on the net and after reading the reviews thought I would try them. Wow! right from the first phone call I was impressed. I was offered 3 appointment times to suit my schedule. At the shop the customer service was great. My questions were answered with no BS thrown it. No attempt to sell me something I didn't need. Which in this day and age is unheard of! Brian explained what they did and made a couple of suggestion about things that might need looking into in the future. It's hard to find people you can trust, and in this economy it's also hard not to lose your pants on auto repairs. I've been taking my vehicles to Roger Daniel's for many years now, because I trust the people. They would never tell me I needed something I didn't really need, and they make sure my car is safe to drive before it leaves the shop. That said, they've even helped me save money on repairs on a few occasions! As long as I live in San Diego, I'll take my vehicles there for all my brake, alignment, and drive train repairs. needed an alignment badly and googled places in santee. called and made an app't. for the following mon. am with ease. got a discount for being a first time customer and using the internet (yeah me!). their prices are better than most chain tire places and they did quality work. it did take about an hour, but they had a comfy waiting room with couches and recliners. i was even offered coffee! my only gripe (and therefore withheld star) is their hours. m-f 8-5. i work those hours and don't get compensated if i'm not physically at work so taking the time off is a huge inconvenience for me. open till 6 or a few hours on sat. would be an awesome addition! read more

Had a terrible experience with Rogers Brake &a Alignment. After going in for a simple alignment, I was told that it would end up costing $250+ to do the full alignment because certain parts needed to be replaced and weren't compatible with my lift kit (which makes no sense) unsure of this, I called my friend who is a mechanic and had him come down and look at the truck. After they "aligned" the truck the mechanic looked at the truck and could tell what the papers said were different than the actual work they did. You could tell they hadn't done what they claimed they did.. after continuously asking why they said they did something but didn't do it, I was told this.. "I am done talking with you, please do not come back again." So after calling them out on their lies of work, they then told me not to come back... clearly tried to scam me but didn't like when another professional stepped in and looked for himself.. definitely do not recommend coming here. read more

I went to Rodger Daniels years ago and they freaked me out and said I needed a lot of things done and replaced. I got a second opinion from another local and well known alignment shop and they said no way, you don't need to have those parts replaced. Two years later, I still driving on the same parts that did not need to be replaced and my jeep is running just fine! read more

On a recommendation we brought our 2006 Ranger in for an alignment check. The truck has pretty low miles so I didn't expect too much would be needed in the way of work to get it down the road. I'm used to Toyota products lasting for ever being a retired Toyota master technician. The crew here was very professional, from taking the reservation to the initial write up when dropping off the truck. After inspecting the truck, a few items came up that could affect the life of the tires and this was explained quite well, I did not mention my past as a mechanic as I wanted to see how the shop handled additional repairs. There was no pressure to immediately do the repairs and we were even schooled in more frequent tire rotations to even out the abnormal wear that would occur. Overall I would say you would be hard pressed to find a more honest shop. This is high praise from a old mechanic. Now my wife and I must figure out which one of us is going to do the recommended repair work to the truck as she also is a retired mechanic. read more

Have gone to Roger Daniel's for many years. Great techs and great customer service. The owners run the place and make sure everything is right. I have a few cars with larger wheels that some shops don't have the equipment to align. Roger Daniel's can deal with just about anything on any car or truck. Anything having to do with anything under the body of the vehicle have them deal with it. Have not been disappointed and my whole family has had a lot of work performed by them over the years. Wish they were open on weekends but I guess everyone needs a day off! read more

I turned to Yelp to find a place in Santee to get some brake work done. My preference is to support the small businesses in town, but had to decide which one. Based on the 5 star reviews, I decided to go with RDBA. I dropped off my truck for inspection and received the dreaded call about 2 hours later. Brian was very, very, very informative....I listened as he went on and on about details of my truck. At that moment I wish I was mechanically inclined so I could appreciate the knowledge he was sharing or at least grunt/growl with him during his "shop" talk like men do....but no.....none of that was possible. I was a good listener tho which is what's really important, right? :) Anyway, brakes...rotaters....bearings and lube! (fun!) and my truck was done same day. I was pleased with the service and for the record, Roberta is the one in charge over there! I'll be back again...hopefully not too soon but I def recommend this place. read more

I went to this alignment shop, because of the good reviews on here. It seems that every time I go to an alignment shop in my car, they're always trying to find anything wrong. I know that they're looking for extra things wrong for extra income, but it seems that a lot of them are just coming up with nothing. And I know this, because my car that I bring there is an 85 Jetta Diesel, with 900,000 miles on it. I have rebuilt every piece of this car, at least 2 times minimum. I know every inch of this car. When I brought it to Roger Daniel's, he said drop it off, and when I went to pick it up, his mechanic says it has a small oil leak. Where the owner said, "hey, it's a diesel, it's got almost a million mile son it, it's gonna leak." It's refreshing to find a worldly attitude, that everything isn't perfect, and it's never going to be. He never implied that I should fix anything else, and the car drove better than it did at any other alignment shop I've been to. I am a machinist by trade, over 30 years experience, and I am real picky about how things run. Give them a shot, you won't be disappointed. read more
