Dined in at 7:30 am on a Sunday and there was already a good amount of people seated. You need to get here as early as possible. It did not take long for the restaurant to fill up completely after we were seated. Restaurant is smaller than I expected, yet a decent size. Booths, tables and window facing tabletops for seating. Warm colored decor, modern and cozy-like. Limited street side parking with a lot behind the restaurant. Stacked has a variety of breakfast and lunch items on the menu and I love breakfast joints that have hot green tea, honey and gluten free options. I was ready to order an omelette until I saw the specials. Ended up ordering the 'Southwestern Chicken Skillet': grilled chicken, potatoes, sauteed red and green peppers, onions, choice of cheese, topped with egg and comes with 2 pancakes (gluten free for me :). The skillet was absolutely delicious. I need to go back before it's no longer a special lol. The gluten free pancakes were super fluffy, however the consistency was sort of gritty and I could tell they were GF. But they were still pretty good. No Reservations can be made. I've been trying to come here since the summer, but the wait times were just too long. This go round, I had time to spare. It took about 30-35 minutes to be called for a table, then another 30-35 minutes for our food to arrive. But I will say that I see why this place gets so much business. The food is definitely delicious. No doubt about that. Every plate was mouth watering yummy. We ordered the following: Mimosa, Pancakes, Omelet with spinach bacon and pepper jack cheese, Crepes, Eggs benedict, Red velvet pancakes, Cornedbeef hash skillet. The stars are for the server. They did a really good job. The food was meh...the kitchen staff dumps out the old mop water right out the back door of the restaurant so it smells like a dirty dumpster when you approach from the parking lot. They really need to pressure wash that sidewalk and find somewhere else to dump their waste water. Got a skillet and it was brought out fast but the whole bottom of the skillet was nothing but oil. We have been to this location at least six times and never had a problem. The food and service has always been good and while the items are pricey everything else is pretty good. However, on this date my wife and I each ordered a chicken panini with the menu price at 12.99. The meal was great as was the service but when the check came we noticed we were charged at 14.99 each. When we brought it to the attention of our server she affirmed that the price was 14.99 and the menu was wrong. We brought the issue to an apparent manager who dismissed us and pointed to the bottom of the menu in small writing that the "menu items are subject to change". We asked for a correction and again after stating no, she acknowledged that the menu was wrong but was covered by that small statement on the bottom that prices can change. I have eaten in restaurants for over 60 years and never have had a "prices can change" invoked upon me. That means that anytime you want to eat at Stacked you better be prepared to ask about the correct pricing before you order or take my advice and find a more honest establishment! This is a popular place.. I was told there is usually a wait, but it's worth it. Got there right before a huge downpour, and waited about 40 minutes. The staff is smiling and friendly and polite. We got seated and ordered. THE FOOD: I started with tortilla soup. It was very colorful with multi-colored chips (see photo), and looked good. I think they may have switched sugar for salt when making this, because it was the first time I've had a SWEET tortilla soup! Besides that I couldn't taste much else. I also had a Turkey Club on wheat toast. Again...very colorful, the tomatoes were bright red, lettuce was really green. The turkey was good, overall, a tasty sandwich. We had a larger party and were seated within 10 minutes during the weekend breakfast rush which was honestly quite impressive. We got a variety of dishes including but not limited to the Irish skillet, Southwestern chicken skillet, Oreo pancakes, and two eggs any style. Everybody loved their dishes. There was not a disappointed person in our group. We loved that you could substitute your sides for others, even if it was slightly pricier (Oreo pancakes instead of normal). The thing which annoyed us a bit was the fact that they charged a relatively large fee for credit card usage. We went here on our way out of town, early on a Sunday morning. We had a table of 4 and all of us thought the food was OK, unfortunately, one of us got sick later due to the very greasy hash browns. The reason for the 1 star is their terrible business practice. Our server, not great, as we didn't see her until we had to flag her down for our bill, decided to add a tip to our bill without letting us know. One friend had the bill with the details and my husband had the portion of the bill with the total amount. We do this as our friend lets us know what each of us owes after the bill is paid. My husband went to the cash register to pay and they added a surcharge for using a credit card, the gal at the register told my husband to add a tip and then she completed the transaction. What she didn't tell him is, the server ALREADY ADDED A TIP TO THE BILL! The server ended up getting a 40% tip! If you decide to go here, make sure to 1. Bring enough cash to avoid a surcharge and 2. This place never disappoints. I just wish they had more halal options. If you're Muslim, avoid the gravy and read the menu fully. They have many pork options. Food was delicious. The service on the other hand- was absolutely awful. Stopped by on a Sunday morning, checked in at 10:30am, was not served my food until 12:30pm. And walked out by 1pm. The wait to get seated wasn't particularly long. The issues began after we were seated. Our server greeted briefly (and by briefly I mean - I'll take your order in a few!). She disappeared for a good 20 minutes before we waived another server down. The other server took down our drinks, even though we requested to take our food order already since we had all decided what we wanted to order. She persisted she would only take our drink order. Maybe another 15-20 pass (not kidding at all- we had all finished our drinks at this point and waived a different server down for a coffee refill) After we went through a second refill of coffee- our original waitress finally comes back and takes our order. We thought we were finally in the clear, but no. Half our plates arrived, no condiments or syrup for pancakes. 10 minutes go by, we wave down a different server since we could not see ours. Asked for the remainder part of the food. That server disappears. Original server comes back, our order got sent to the wrong table, the food had to be remade so we wait for ANOTHER 15-20 minutes. Half the table was already done with breakfast before the other half FINALLY got their food. This was 12:30p already. It took an hour and a half to get food after being sat down? This is unacceptable. Management really needs to look at their server to table ratios. Especially on weekends. Have back up staff available to help streamline the process, or atleast have someone walking around asking how the service is going (Attentiveness?). read more
