I'm a big fan of pancakes and Hawaiian food so I knew I had to try this place when I was in the area! Their menu ranges from Belgium waffles, pancakes, crepes, eggs benedict, omelettes, french toast, salads, burgers/sandwiches, and a variety of breakfast and lunch choices. Depending if you're in the mood for more savory or sweet food, their menu has great choices for whatever your taste buds desire. I got the 'eggcelent' combo and I substituted the regular pancakes for their mac'nut banana pancakes! It was very filling and the pancakes were amazing. The pancakes went well with their coconut syrup. I definitely recommend getting the pancakes with coconut syrup if you have a chance!! It was so good! We also got the Kalbi Lunch plate with a side of rice and macaroni salad. The lunch plate had a large amount of food. It was yummy and we were not disappointed at all. I definitely recommend ordering these items! They recommend you order first then take a seat instead of reserving tables for your party. We came at a busy time but the time after we were able to find a table instantly. I love how the patio is dog friendly and I was able to enjoy food with my pup! Parking wasn't a problem either because there is plenty of parking in the back parking structure. The only downside I would have to say is that the cashier who took my order was a bit rude. I was asking her questions if I was able to substitute my pancakes and what she recommended to me for my sides but I felt like I was bothering/wasting her time and rushing me while I order. It was my first time here and I love getting recommendations on menu items but I totally understand that it was a busy morning (line out the door) and that she might've had a rough day. I definitely would've gave this place lower stars but the other servers working the tables were so accommodating and helpful to my table! The servers even made sure my dog got his water & offered to bring me condiments I needed. The other serves made the service better and my experience great! Oh Jeez. I cannot explain how delightfully wonderful these fluffy Hawaiian pancakes were for us. I had the pineapple/coconut pancakes, and hubby had the macadamia nut pancakes. We (of course) asked for coconut syrup and it was like a lovely thick cream for our pancakes. Adding a little maple syrup was not a bad choice. We are big eaters, but even the half-stack was huge and filling. We noticed some other delicious items go by, and I'd try something savory in addition to my pancakes next time. Loved it. Loved it. After reading the reviews I was expecting this location to look like a standalone building so I was surprised when navigation said "your destination is on the left". Left was a strip with parking on top. No matter, I noted there was a Chronic Tacos next door and proceeded to order my first meal. Khalua Eggs Benedict and a blueberry pancake on the side. A=singular, which is a cool option for $2.29. After all, Stack's is known for their pancakes. The service was good at the counter but the food did not show up together. The pancake arrived first, then, a few minutes, later the entree arrived, as did my silverware- so basically I just stared at the pancake and photographed it. B- Taste: the Hollandaise sauce was great! Unfortunately, they slightly under poached the eggs and the whites were a little runny, which I find highly unappealing. The pork definitely needed seasoning so I applied salt and pepper. Another gripe is the potatoes were inconsistently cooked, probably due to their irregular sizes. Anyhow, I ate it and for the most part enjoyed it but didn't finish the potatoes. C+ The pancake saved the day and it was everything that I hoped for, too bad I didn't order a full stack. The blueberries were fresh and the texture was delicate, light and flavorful. Real vanilla extract? A+ I'd definitely eat here again though, just work my way around the menu. Downgrade this week after our last visit. Why? The Egg White Omelet with Turkey was loaded with Salt. (Save some salt for everyone else--it's not necessary to use so much salt--customers can put more on if they need it--but you can't take it off.) When we sat down, the table seemed to be clean, but the cleaner apparently did not know to rinse the cloth off because it had a coat of sticky syrup wiped all over it. Basically they wiped the syrup into the table. I had to go to the bathroom to wash it off my hands after sitting. Pay attention to cleaning tables--it's not an easy job and remember that when you clean a table you must wipe off the seats after with another clean cloth because you will have knocked food particles onto the seats from the table. If you use the same cloth, you then wipe the food from the table onto the chairs. Our favorite coconut syrup was so watered down that it was not even edible. Very disappointed. I know it's hard to run a restaurant day in and day out, year after year with consistency--it takes an owner on the premises full time to make that happen. I am taking Stacks off of our breakfast rotation for a while to see if things get better when we check back. read more

We were I. The area, so decided to give this place a try based on the Yelp reviews. This is a very busy popular hot spot with lower and upper level parking. Great service and food, but always a super long wait out the door. I placed a phone to go order and I had to wait 20 minutes on hold before I could speak to a person. I don't recommend this place if you're in a hurry. Give yourself at least two hours. Regarding Covid-19 precautionary measures, I only saw outdoor seating and all servers were wearing masks. They probably don't sanitizer very well since they are turning tables like crazy right after one leaves. I recommend this place, but would not return if I don't have a free hours of waiting to spare. read more

I didn't get a picture, but I ordered eggs, bacon, potatoes, meat lovers omelette for my husband, and blueberry pancakes for the baby. I am rating at a three because the coffee didn't taste good. I am a huge coffee person. I got a vanilla iced latte, and tried with and without oat milk; it did not make a difference. The tables smelled weird, they may be cleaning the tables with smelly rags or something because it did not smell good on the inside. There was no where to sit outside by the time we got there, so we had no choice but to sit and try to enjoy our meal. I couldn't finish my meal, and neither could my husband. I gave them a three because the service was good. They were nice when we ordered. The scenery is nice too. If they would change the cleaning towels and water maybe that would help. We absolutely love Dana Point and we're glad we found this spot where the locals eat. The service is quick and the food is delicious. I would change the way they ask that you order first and then be seated. I think seating should be first come and first to get seated regardless of ordering. I know it can get cold and you want to sit inside so you should allow this one change. Now back to the main reason we are here the food! The waffle was very fluffy and enjoyable. The huevos rancheros were delicious with the chipotle sauce they use. The Denver omelette is average and not too impressive. It could have used a bit of flavor. First the positives: nice location, not too far from the beach. Food is decent The negative: service is suboptimal. When we ordered the green smoothie that is under$6 on the menu, you find the following: $6 smoothie, and extra $1 to add green. ‍ Then my friend ordered americano coffee to find it only half full. He came back to inquire, the cashier lady's response was, "that's how the americano is". So why do you serve it in a medium or large cup when you only fill it up to half????? A nice bystander worker offered to fill it up for my friend, the cashier register STOPPED HIM and said "NO, would you like to add water to your coffee???" The is poor customer service. I had the french toast. Turns out they not only have regular french toast, they also have it with fruity pebbles and strawberry/banana, and it's served a few other ways as well! I had the strawberry banana and didn't realize I hadn't put syrup on them until later because they tasted so good! The restaurant is a busy small place with outside seating, good music, friendly staff, and it's clean as well. Heather had the turkey avocado melt with a side of mac. Small little spot off the PCH. The food was good, the vibe ok , the price is about average for breakfast. When we arrived there was hardly any line so we went through pretty quickly, ordered and then you seat yourself. Within five minutes of us sitting the line got outrageous so be mindful of that possibility. The seating seems limited for the amount of people that show up at any given time. All I could think as I saw this line is where the hell are these people going to sit. The restaurant does offer for you to take it to go though, so there's that option. We didn't Waite long for our drinks and food. The spicy Mexican hot chocolate is a must try by the way . The staff was very nice. Their omelets are really good and have just the right amount of veggies and whatever else. I am gluten intolerant and order their gluten free blueberry pancakes which are so good! Not a fan of the breakfast burrito here. There were massive chunks of potato in there and barely any meat. I asked for bacon, egg, cheese, and potato but the majority of the burrito was egg and potato. It's not enjoyable when you get several bites of potato in a row because the burrito is absolutely overloaded with it. Less potato and more bacon would've really made this dish a lot better. The salsa it comes with though is delicious. I also tried the lavender latte which was good but I kept getting pieces of what seemed to be dried lavender in my mouth and that was very unpleasant. Not sure exactly what they top the drink with but whatever it was kept getting in my mouth as I was drinking the latte and I had to keep spitting it out, not enjoyable. read more

A new favorite of mine is the lavender latte, perfect balance. Their Hawaiian dishes, Loco Moco, pulled pork benedict and any dish with the white rice/macaroni salad are all excellent as well.
