So I looked on yelp, saw this place and its menu, and decided to give it a shot. For a fast casual breakfast place, the quality was very good! I had the kalua pork omelet with home fried potatoes and a Hawaiian latte. The pork was nice and tender, the eggs were soft and fluffy, and the potatoes were cooked well, although I would've preferred a crisper texture. We really love Stacks. It is in Dana Point, right on HWY 1. Parking is easy and the place to easy to find. They only serve breakfast, brunch and lunch. The menu is great and they have food from everywhere. It seems to have a Hawaiian flare, but they also have a Korean dish. You order at the counter and the line can be long, but it is not terrible. Once you have ordered have a seat inside or out and a nice server will bring you the food. Their selection is very good. They have these macadamia nut pancakes which are amazing. This is the only place I have ever had them and I know they are popular there. Their French toast made with King's Hawaiian Sweet Bread is super tasty. Also try their Captain Nut Mac French Toast. I don't care for it. My grandson loves it. It has Captain Crunch cereal and macadamia nuts. He always orders this when we are in town. For lunch we love their turkey avocado melt that is filled with turkey breast, swiss cheese and avocado on grilled parmesan sourdough. It come with a side of French fries, mixed green salad, macaroni salad, or fresh fruit. I love their fries so I always get that. The burgers are great and they make them the way you want. Visiting California from Vegas and I saw our hotel was super close to this restaurant! I'm a lover of loco moco and decided my fiancé and I had to have it for breakfast- especially due to the good reviews. The outdoor seating has cute strung lights and heaters for when it is cold. We walked over and showed up at the perfect time because there was only one person in line. We quickly ordered and took a seat awaiting our food. My food came out first, and my fiancés food came out about 10 minutes later.. he had a breakfast burrito. I was slightly bothered of the extensive difference in time the food came out, but no big deal! Then my fiancé got his burrito and there was a large hair in his beans. Obviously this was a disappointment after the wait for the food. We notified the server of the hair and his plate was quickly switched.. yet the beans were cold. It was greasy. Both girls ordered the hot chocolate and the server added whipped cream and marshmallows, except the marshmallows had blue dye and we don't eat artificial dyes. My friend ordered another dish and she liked hers, but said it too was greasy. My girls and I had stomachaches all day after eating there. I believe due to the greasiness. We picked up food from Stacks a long time ago and ever since then I have been craving more of their breakfast! The cashier was extremely nice, but the other workers were not as nice - that was the only sad part of this whole dining experience! It was a cold day so we were trying to get the attention of the person that was turning on all of the heaters, except ours, and even waving at her she looked at us and walked away. If ever in the area especially during breakfast time I will definitely stop by here to eat. This has to be one of the top breakfast spots in Dana Point. We rode bikes from Doheny State Campground. Bike ride was maybe 15min or so. The uphill battle was tough but can be made. You wait in the line order then find a seat. Orders are taken very quickly and they make sure they get your order right the first time. Place is a little noisy but what breakfast/brunch place isn't.
