What an amazing breakfast! The food was reasonably priced for the amount. They offered numerous options and neither dish disappointed. My son and I kept it simple and shared the 2 Eggs Protein with a short stack of Oreo pancakes. It came with home fried potatoes, which were good, but the star was the Portuguese sausage. My son said it was some of his fave ever. After wiping away the Oreo toppings, which were also cooked into it, I devoured the plain pieces with butter and syrup and the whipped cream. They were delicious. Reminded me of my grandpa's. My partner and foreign exchange student shared the Loco Moco with an extra meat patty. This is her all-time favorite breakfast ever since our first trip to HI 15 years ago. It has grown on me, but this one was money. The rice was plentiful, and the meat had a great flavor, but the gravy brought it home. This is a Southern California chain but it feels homey and special You wait in line to order at the counter. Not allowed to sit or save tables before you order. It's a good system so don't mess it up. :) At this location there has been an extra "hostess" who coordinates if you want to sit inside or outside, and then puts a number on the table for you. Food is delicious - especially the Captain Mac Nut French Toast (have it for your breakfast dessert!) I also like the Eggs Florentine Benedict and they have really good home fries. One weird thing - why do they put pea shoots on things? I don't get it and it doesn't add anything. Portuguese sausage is a must. There isnt really table service besides them bringing you your food, so just go up to the counter if you need a refill on iced tea. read more

Their buttermilk pancakes are quite tasty, and their Denver Omelette is pretty standard. Prices are very reasonable. On the downside, you order at the counter, get a number, and find a seat, if you can. It is a busy location and can be chaotic and congested. If you are looking for a quiet Breakfast where you order from a table and get waited on, this is not it. This is more of a fast food type restaurant. I will start by saying that there was a long line out the door, but it does shorten quickly. I decided to take a leap of faith with the corn beef hash well, it was from a can. The eggs that came with it were fine, the country potatoes were okay but very small in quantity. My husband chose the island chiliaquiles and it came with beans and rice. he also ordered banana nut pancakes. He said that they were all good to him I also ordered a Chai tea latte hot and that was amazing. I saw this restaurant on Yelp as I was looking for a reasonably priced brunch/lunch. Upon arrival, I headed inside where I noticed a sign posted on the door that encouraged you to place your order at the counter and then grab a seat. That was very helpful. The menu is full of yummy options. I was going to choose the California Burrito (one of the specials of the day), but then... one of the waiters walked by me with a plate of pancakes and sausage! It looked soooo good, so I decided that I wanted some of that! I ordered 2 pancakes, 2 eggs, and 2 sausages. I'm so glad I ordered the sausages instead of bacon, because let me tell you, those sausages were plump, juicy, and delicious. What I liked most was that they weren't salty! The eggs were excellent and they held the heat. Usually eggs are the first thing to get cold. Now, for the pancakes. Five stars! They were so good! The plate I orders was called "A lite bite". On the menu you'll find island specialties like Moco Loco (chopped morsels of fried spam served over white rice with a sunny side up egg and savory brown gravy on top). Or other Hawaiian specialties like fried spam and eggs. We tried a couple of basic breakfast plates. My wife had Avocado Toast and I had a basic pancake and egg breakfast with sausage. The standout dish by far was the pancakes! My wife asked if she could have a bite and the girl ate my whole plate!!! Yeah, I guess they were that good. The ambiance was nice. We ordered at a walk up counter and then seated ourselves outside on a semi covered patio. The day was kind of warm so we chose not to stay too long. The atmosphere was very casual...this is not a "wait to be seated then place your order with your server" type of atmosphere. That may be off putting to some but I was ok with it. However, after that first bite, there really isn't much of a taste. The refried beans had zero taste either. The chilequiles was also bland. We had to put some salt on it to make it taste somewhat better. The crepes were the best ones on the table, but unless you overcook the crepes, it's really hard to mess that order up! The captain crunch French toast were good, but nothing extra ordinary. We were visiting family and my sister took us here.
