What an amazing breakfast! The food was reasonably priced for the amount. They offered numerous options and neither dish disappointed. My son and I kept it simple and shared the 2 Eggs Protein with a short stack of Oreo pancakes. It came with home fried potatoes, which were good, but the star was the Portuguese sausage. My son said it was some of his fave ever. After wiping away the Oreo toppings, which were also cooked into it, I devoured the plain pieces with butter and syrup and the whipped cream. They were delicious. Reminded me of my grandpa's. My partner and foreign exchange student shared the Loco Moco with an extra meat patty. This is her all-time favorite breakfast ever since our first trip to HI 15 years ago. It has grown on me, but this one was money. The rice was plentiful, and the meat had a great flavor, but the gravy brought it home. We will definitely return next time in the area, and this time, we will have one of their coffees, which looked yummy. read more

I really wanted to like this place. It's local and always busy and who doesn't want a good breakfast joint with Hawaiian influences? This review is based on one visit so take it with a grain of salt - but, the food was pretty uninspired. We got two breakfast items: waffle and French toast with eggs and bacon, and one lunch item: Aloha plate with teriyaki chicken, rice and Mac salad. The waffle was ok - it's not hard to make a good waffle, so that's not too big of a deal. The French toast was pretty bland. It tasted like store bought bread dipped in some factory made batter and served with a side of syrup out of a 55 gallon drum. Same stuff you'd get at Dennys or IHOP. The biggest disappointment was the Aloha plate. The chicken was thin, pale, overcooked/tough - probably made once a week and heated up in a microwave. The "home made" teriyaki sauce tasted like it was actually made in a factory far far away. If it was made on site - the chef should explore some recipe modifications. The steamed rice was ok - tasted like it hadn't been washed before cooking and was made many hours before it was served. The mac salad may have been made on site - but it was not very memorable. In fairness, our child liked the chicken and rice, so, who knows... Sadly, there are plenty of other breakfast options in the SC, SJC and DP areas that are solid, so it's not likely we will be back here to try again. read more

Overall, the food is very good. Ordered the iced mocha latte, and found it to be quite delicious. However, my husband and I ordered three entrees, but we were accidentally charged with four entrees. At checkout, I did not notice what exactly was ordered, but we thought that the price did not match 3 entrees and a drink. When the food was being delivered to our table, we found out that we were charged $16 for an extra entree. We sent it back and they gave us a refund. Towards the end of our meal, a couple sat next to us and the same thing happened to them. They were incorrectly charged and paid more for their meal and couldn't tell despite looking at the screen during check out. Please beware as yes you may get a refund, but if you pay a tip percentage based on the original total at check out, you will not be refunded that difference. This is a Southern California chain but it feels homey and special You wait in line to order at the counter. Not allowed to sit or save tables before you order. It's a good system so don't mess it up. :) At this location there has been an extra "hostess" who coordinates if you want to sit inside or outside, and then puts a number on the table for you. Food is delicious - especially the Captain Mac Nut French Toast (have it for your breakfast dessert!) I also like the Eggs Florentine Benedict and they have really good home fries. One weird thing - why do they put pea shoots on things? I don't get it and it doesn't add anything. Portuguese sausage is a must. There isnt really table service besides them bringing you your food, so just go up to the counter if you need a refill on iced tea. read more

Their portions are huge, so I recommend sharing plates... especially if you get their omelettes with a side of pancakes. Their buttermilk pancakes are quite tasty, and their Denver Omelette is pretty standard. Prices are very reasonable. On the downside, you order at the counter, get a number, and find a seat, if you can. It is a busy location and can be chaotic and congested. I will start by saying that there was a long line out the door, but it does shorten quickly. I decided to take a leap of faith with the corn beef hash well, it was from a can. The eggs that came with it were fine, the country potatoes were okay but very small in quantity. We ordered at a walk up counter and then seated ourselves outside on a semi covered patio. The day was kind of warm so we chose not to stay too long. Cashier Neybi was rude when taking our order and she didn't input the gluten free items even know she charged us for them, when food came out this young boy was nice and when we asked if the kids items were gluten free he said he double check just to be treated bad by his manager (Ana) been rude in front of us saying "yeah they're gluten free" loud at him with an attitude, just for her to come back and take the plate back because it wasn't GLUTEN FREE!! Place your order, get a number, then look for a table. They literally have a sign that says this. Don't hold on/save a table without a number. The food was very okay; nothing to write home about, really. I got a breakfast burrito with h Kalua pork as my protein. At first bite, you taste the smokiness from the Kalua. However, after that first bite, there really isn't much of a taste. The refried beans had zero taste either. The chilequiles was also bland. We had to put some salt on it to make it taste somewhat better. The crepes were the best ones on the table, but unless you overcook the crepes, it's really hard to mess that order up! The captain crunch French toast were good, but nothing extra ordinary. We were visiting family and my sister took us here. Finally had a chance to try the Dana Point location- service and food were great! I had the PB French toast and the meat lovers omelette. I'd definitely get the toast again.. wow a PB lovers dream. Super cream and soft French toast topped with syrup chef's kiss. The meat lovers omelette was good too, the egg was a bit dry for me and the potatoes were plain. The workers were all very attentive and sweet. You can get coffee refills while you're dining in. There's seating indoors and outdoors and it's set up where you order in line, pay then sit at a table for your food to come out, with the workers bringing it to you. I'd come back to try the other French toasts... maybe the guava next or fruity pebbles - yum! I'd recommend stacks to those craving a sweet treat. read more
