We met our friends here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon. Jeremy was the hero behind the bar, expertly setting us up with brews and taking our food order. Placing orders at the bar might be off-putting to some, but the restaurant wasn't crowded and it was nice to walk around a bit. Smokin'Hubster had the Whitefish fingers, I had the Whitefish tacos. The tacos were served with a cabbage slaw that had bits of apple; perfect! We had a few more hours of driving ahead of us, so I was happy to keep lunch on the lighter side. All the Whitefish is wild-harvested from Lake Superior by Red Cliff Ojibwe (Native American) Tribal Members. In fact, the bar - as I understand - is woman-owned and Ojibwe-owned. Ambiance: Simple decor, mostly pinball, darts and pool, (which is free after 10p some days I believe.) The vibe is relaxed, and the pinball machines are cool but loud, so if you don't want to hear them, just don't sit right next to 'em like I did. Additionally, the space is inclusive and friendly. Though not meant for kids, it's perfectly safe and comfortable for them. Service: You seat yourself, order @ the bar and bus your own dishes once done, so I didn't engage much with staff. When I did ask a question, though, the employee was more than gracious and incredibly friendly. The patrons were also all friendly! Food: It's high-quailty, homemade, and they have tasty drinks. I ordered the "Sugar and Spice" which is a non-alcoholic drink with Ginger Ale, mango juice, and honey. It was delicious! My only complaint is that for the very small serving size and simple ingredients, the 5 dollar price felt a bit steep. I moved away 10 months ago and was back for a super quick trip. I'm so thankful one of my best friends took me here and said, "The Stagecoach has seriously upped their food game recently." The Bahn Mi was SOOOO good! And the buffalo tots a great side. If I still lived in the area I would eat here every week. Cant say i was too impressed. Pork belly was rubbery. Tots were avg. my friend was supposed to have a chicken sandwich fried , but it looked like it was something else , not even resembling chicken. I'll give 2 1/2 stars for food, which was slightly above average, but not great by any means. And about one and a half stars for service. Maybe the fact , that a private party was scheduled in 1 hr after I walked in. But still? Service was poor, bartender didn't seem interested one bit in serving us, taking our order or getting us a drink. Food was rushed and I suppose when I saw the private party sign, outside the building, I should've turned and went somewhere else. Maybe thats on me. Dont go here. read more

Showed up late because this place was billed as a late night food place. Showed up at 1020 and the chef/owner looked at us like we didn't matter. I've never experienced a lack of caring for your clientele regardless of how manyhours you've put in. The bar staff is top notch. The chef that cares about his pool table is pretty lame read more

Neighborhood bar. Nice people and reasonable prices. Clean restrooms! We had a craving for bar food and this place did not disappoint. My cheeseburger was very good and juicy - seemed like a patty made by hand, not the frozen variety burger. Fries were crispy with skin on, just the way I like them. We were traveling to Ashland last week and had a great experience at the Stagecoach Bar and Grill. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food and drink menus offered many options, so it was hard to decide. The food was excellent! I had the smoked chicken salad sandwich on cranberry wild rice bread and my husband had the mushroom Swiss burger, served with their great house-cut fries. We each had one of their specialty cocktails - the Tequila Smash and the Strawberry Gin Rickey. We were not disappointed. Both were really good! We'll definitely go back and try some of the other food and drink items next time we're in the area. read more

Fridays fish fry fish is very good, service is fantastic, good drinks, but the coleslaw and tartar needs less mayo . Thats all u taste is mayo. Maybe I'll try it again another time. read more

Excellent food! Grabbed a great meal there- nice selection of beer on tap- bartender even bought me one to see if I'd like it- friendly service! I had a chicken bacon ranch wrap, the rest of the table had burgers- everyone had a great meal. Split fries- even a small basket has a large portion. Definitely going here on my next trip! read more
