This company has installed all of the carrier units in the DR Horten homes in Kapolei. I have been told repeatedly to go to COOL AIR to get any warranty work done on my split system. With the stroke of magic I was able to get them to come out and attempt to fix my brand new AC unit that was installed by them. The unit is leaking from poor installation. Issue is still not resolved. In short, They don't return your calls, they do very poor work. read more

These guys are horribly incompetent. They installed three split AC units into our home and we have had endless problems (i.e. leaking down the wall, no cool air running, etc.). The funny thing is, when we had them come check it out when it was still under warranty for that first year, not only did we have to have them come three times in the first year to fix it, they also admitted "yeah this was installed backwards/wrong blah blah blah" AS IF THEY WERENT THE ONES WHO DID IT. And they charge $160 an hour just for labor. Why would I pay the same people who couldn't install it correctly to "fix" it? Especially after they "fixed it" multiple over the first year. And here we are in our second year of owning and one AC is shot and they don't even care. See the attached photo for their response when i asked if we could get somebody out to check it since it's leaking again. We are coming to our second year at Pohakala and I have 2 units that don't blow cold any longer. During our first year while it was still under warranty DR Horton had Cool Air come out to service a unit that would constantly have water draining into a bedroom. They adjusted the angle multiple times and eventually we even had to remove and replace the water barrier behind the drywall. This particular units needed to be seen multiple times. I had spoken to Air Cool directly during one of the first instances and was told the unit was installed improperly and that they would have a supervisor come out to check their techs work. 3 of the 5 units have oxidation/rust scaling that started to emerge during the first year. Nothing but problems with these units from the first 6 months of purchasing our new home. This isn't a reflection on DR.Horton. My advice? Have a reputable company go over all your units prior to your warranty expiration to save you time and money towards near future repairs. I'm forced to now have another HVAC company come out and repair or replace these units. read more

I just had Cool Air install a split ac unit in my living room. The owner Derek personally came to my home to give me an estimate. He also recommended the size and brand. He was very professional and personable! His crew was awesome too. They were very polite, they always removed their footwear when entering my home. They even asked to use my vacuum to clean the debris caused by the install and took all of the packaging/boxes with them. I'm super satisfied with my new unit. I would not recommend this company. They serviced my unit 3 months ago. I noticed my outside pipe dripping and my inside drain was clogged. I went up the attic and found a lot of mess and the pipes where not even cleaned. I decided to call three weeks ago and spoke to Jeff after 5 calls and a voicemail. I told him the situation and he said they were busy with a big job. He said he will try to get someone out. A week after I had to call again, no reply. ( called 3/7 days). Third week I spoke to a guy name John and same thing. They are probably waiting until I give up and stop calling. Well I spent almost $100 for a crap job. Ernest was the guy that serviced my home. Wanted to get ac done in my home so I contacted Cool Air and got a quote. They said they'd contact me as soon as they could find something suitable for my home. A couple days later I got the quote and I said when can I make the appointment. They said anytime as long as I give them a 7day notice so they could order everything they needed for install and 50% of the costs. So I waited a couple of weeks and decided to take a chance. In less than a week that I made the appointment they said they were ready for install, I was shocked. So the day they came in they were early, appointment was at 8am and the installers were there at 730a bringing supplies into my home. All I got to say was man these guys knew what they were doing, excellent job. They finished around 1pm and I'd say that was extremely fast. They did a three split ac install inside plus the main unit outside, plus everything in between. All I have to say is great job and thanks again to Ponci and the crew. read more
