This truck has been screwed! My Brake fluid has not been flushed with clear fluid. It is still contaminated. My battery terminals were just brushed but not cleaned and not filled with distilled water. My oil filter is leaking! They damaged my bolt on my pinion seal and can not replace it! Here is my update to my last posting. I did send and hand deliver to their mail slot a letter to Standard Auto Care with an explicit request for them to appear in court to testify about the condition of my truck after their inspection on September 13, 2019 because my check engine light came on. I went over everything thing that was said the day they put my truck on the computer to find it was misfiring, the diagnosis was generic, not showing the exact cause. I was told it could be anything from the "old and dirty spark plugs and wires to one or more cylinders being the problem" and they could not give me an estimate without paying $133 to diagnose the exact problem. I also asked if they could do a quick look over to see if there were any other obvious things, they told me my tires were cracking and my shocks needed to be replaced because the rubber was cracking. First, my response was the plugs and wires should not be old and dirty because I had had them changed when I purchased the vehicle used in 2014, from a dealer, who had detailed it AND cleaned the engine. After getting their email response to my letter, requesting all work orders for both of my vehicles, I did extensive research of our conversation on September 13, 2019 and the documentation they sent me which lacked information regarding the spark plugs and wires and had an added oil and filter change that I did not request since they informed me of the issues and knowing that the repairs could be costly and I had to decide if it was time to trade the truck in. What I found was the work order from the other mechanic with the stated miles at 138,969 in May of 2014, to Standard Auto Care's stated miles at their above computer reading on September 13, 2019 was 147,297, that is only 8,328 miles I put on the truck since I purchased it. I researched how long plugs and wires should last on my vehicle and I found at least 75,000 miles. From October of 2016 to September of 2019, the time Standard Auto Care worked on my truck, I had only put 1,964 miles on it and at no time did they ever tell me to change my plugs and wires. They did tell me in July of 2018 I needed a new battery, which I never changed AND never had any problems with it despite only putting 591 miles on the vehicle in that 14 months. I can go on but I will try to cover the discrepancies in the work order from September 13, 2019 that they emailed me. There was no mention of my spark plugs and wires. There was mention of the code that came up on computer and the fact I never brought the truck back for the next diagnostic step, which I had called Sue and told her the truck wasn't coming back because I traded it in. Another thing I noticed, it appears they tried covering up some documentation because I could see one of the documents divider bars, separating sections on the work order, partially covered some writing, leaving the bottom half of the words exposed. The work order said I had an oil and filter change which I did not authorize after being told of the problem and knowing the potential of high cost repairs, and included the cost they had allegedly charged to my VISA. The document did not have my signature on it. The other document they sent listed the dates and mileages with descriptions of the work and it was missing an oil change I had them do. I sent an extensive email back, responding to the several issues of what they said and what the documentation presented. After sending the first email to their response I was really bugged about the oil and filter change because the visit was supposed to be a free check to see what the computer said to my check engine light so I pulled up my 2 VISA/ATM's and my one VISA credit card statements and I did not find any charges listed for Standard Auto Care on September 13, 2019. It is a good thing I made hard copies of the whole email transactions AND made a separate hard copy of my response alone because when I went to send them an attachment email to their email, their email was gone and I had to open up a new email to let them know I found no charges from them on my VISA's for September 13, 2019. They did accuse me of slandering them and stated I wanted them to go to court to testify about something they did not know about. All I asked them for was to testify about what they found on September 13, 2019, which made me decide to trade the truck in, nothing more. Take this review as you want, I do have hard copies of all my documentation and their emailed documentation to me, which for me now really questions their honesty AND shows I am not slandering them. read more

Standard auto care is a company I can trust to do my auto work with quality. I like the security knowing that my car is safe on the road and not likely to breakdown. In my profession an unplanned breakdown is an absolute waste of time and can lead to lost appointments; not to mention nearly half a day spent on a tow and the work that should have been done previously with a scheduled auto maintenance checkup that works around my schedule. I especially appreciate their thorough diagnostic that comes with Standard's oil changes. I've been to their shop 3 times now, have gotten to know the owner and appreciate his care for me and my time. I also like his waiting room which is conducive to conducting business while I am waiting. read more

On 7/20/20 -8/5/20 I brought my F250 7.3 diesel truck in for check engine light, Tom called me back said they can't get codes on computer so they have to get into the computer and find codes for an extra 200.00. At the same time Tom told me that the turbo was leaking on the exhaust side told Tom to fix it. 8 days later I get my truck back by telling Tom that my business is loosing money taking to long need truck. When I get my truck back 2 days later on job site I'm seeing a trail, I check the oil and I'm 2 gallons low, I managed to get a gallon of oil onsite to get truck to my shop. The engine bay and the complete undercarriage, axles, wheel wells, tailgate and bumper are covered in oil. I called Sue Monday morning she ordered a tow truck and apologized and I will get my truck back fixed and cleaned. 2 1/2 days later Sue calls me truck is done, I asked Sue for a ride no one available took uber. Got there and truck is not washed undercarriage not cleaned and motor is 1 gallon low on oil. And no refund on uber, job cost 1387.48, my company Karl's Transport lost 2800.00 for their actions. So your damn excuse is that you should have done a better job cleaning my truck, you didn't clean my truck anywhere. As for the oil goes I added gallon of oil onsite and added 3 qts when I got home. You didn't check shit, that truck had no oil leaks PERIOD not until you started working on it DON'T LIE TO SAVE FACE . You cheated me and did a piss pour job on my truck. Wow, what a great auto repair place. Friendly, knowledgeable, honest, affordable, clean and they do great work. We took our older Mercedes for a major service. I was going to follow my roommate in our other car so I could take him home, but the battery was dead. They told us come down and they would see that we got home. Tom Hipp, the owner, drove us home and jumped the dead car before he left. They are customer oriented. Five Stars. We both love you and the way you do business. I thought he was trying to pull a fast one o me because of my ignorance with automobiles. I got some other quotes and it was similar price. Tom H (the owner) quoted me over $3,000 to fix an oil leak on a 2007 car that he had done an oil change on a couple of weeks prior (needed a new this and a new that and soooo much freaking labor). Of course I went for a second opinion (I have always maintained my car as it gets me to and from work, gotta keep the girl in shape). Turns out only the gasket needed to be replaced ($230) and that was because someone at standard auto care tightened a bolt too tight and stripped the threads. The place I took it to laughed when I showed them Tom's quote and asked if he planned on replacing the engine! I will NEVER go here again. The only reason I took it there for the oil leak is because he was the last person to work on the car. I thought he may man up and fix it. Nope. Also during my first visit for the oil change when I provided my contact info (email and phone number) Tom emailed and texted me asking me out later that night (that was a big no). During that same first visit, he kept pressuring me about how I knew the person that referred me, and when I finally told him it was at a local place, just to get him off my back, he showed up that afternoon after he closed the shop!! Very very very unprofessional and just downright gross and stalker-ish. Tom tries to play nice by offering a free loaner car as long as you replace the gas used. I drove about 25 miles but did not have time to get gas and get back to the shop before he closed. I offered him cash, which he gladly accepted. I gave him a $20 and when I asked for change I was met with a look that said it all and told he didn't have any cash. A friend of mine was there today and was quoted $750 for a repair... Second opinion was $350. Of course it is up to you where you take your car, but this guy is unethical, a complete sleezebag and is lucky I did not pursue legal action against him. I still have all the paperwork and the creepy email. Don't mind sharing if you need proof. And to add to my frustration I still get his advertising emails and postcards. I have asked to be removed, yet they still arrive on a regular basis. Yelp should provide an option of negative stars... This place deserves negative 5. read more

Stay away! My 80-year-old mother has been taken advantage of by this shop. It started with an air conditioner fix. It wasn't fixed. Then another problem. Rags left in the engine compartment that made the vehicle inoperable. They blamed her for it happening. Someone supposedly lifted the hood and put them in there. That's crazy and not possible with the doors locked! She let them fix that problem, which led to even more problems. Finally, her transmission isn't working - after they replaced the transmission fluid. Two more repairs after that and she was told the transmission fluid was dirty. Now the car is in the driveway. Stay away if you want a working vehicle. read more

I saw a lot of good reviews on this place and carmax sent me an email showing me places that would honor my warranty through Maxcare. So I picked this place. I made an appointment for 11:30 am on 8/1/18 because at the time I made the appointment my check engine light was on. I went to the place, receptionist was very nice. Gave one star for that at least. She said she will call when they know what's wrong with my car and we will go from there. Explained to me that they are packed and it will be awhile. I already knew it would be awhile. My fiancé picked me up and we went to do things. Well I knew they closed at 5pm and it was getting pretty closed to it. So at 3:30 pm I called and Tom ( I believed that was his name) answered and I asked if they have looked at my car yet and he put me on hold and then came back on and said they haven't even touched my car and that they will either look at it later tonight but mostly be looked at in the morning. I said well i need a car and he said to come in and get my car and if you took dealership it would of Took 2-3 days to look at your car. I told no actually. It would took couple hours with an appointment but not no 2-3 days. If you got your car fixed at the dealership it would take 2-3 days or more I understand that. He also said one of his people called in sick or didn't come in today so they were behind. So I'm very upset with this place. There's no point in making an appointment for one day when in reality they will look at it the next day. Only thing that I liked was the receptionist was really nice. That's it. read more

They did note a couple of items that may need service soon, and it's low pressure to make my own decision on when to have the service completed in accordance with our budget. They don't do anything on your car without your knowledge and permission. They explained really well what was wrong and what needed to be done but they did not pressure my sister to anything. Looked for a new place to take my Jaguar for an oil change...I was over the dealerships ridiculous pricing. I hate taking cars places..im a woman on my own who doesn't know a lot about cars but I do know shops can take advantage. Sue was nice over the phone got me an appt for the next day. It was easy, she was very nice and friendly...it was 1/3 of the price of the dealership!!! They also send you a text and email with your car service report! I use this shop as my only repair shop for a 1997 Camrey and a 2003 Honda CR-V. I get a loaner when needed, no charge. Usually hepls if you make an appt for this! Tom gives me a thorough review of my cars needs, prioritizes them, and we work out a schedule for repair. This allows me to budget my repairs for my older cars and keep them in better shape than just running in when they break down. Sue and Tom were very professional and courteous! Def recommend this business for any auto care. The office is very clean and well furnished to make you feel comfy! Although I had to wait a long time before they even touched my vehicle. I took it in for a 1030 appt. they did not get to it until prob 430-5:00 so it sat there quite some time before an authorization was even put through. So I had to come out of pocket for an extra day on my rental due to the delay so I'm going to give a 4 star if they would have gotten to it as it was supposed to be for a 1030 appt I would rated a 5 star. They provided uber service to see me home while I had to wait for work to be done to my vehicle. I recommend that they might want to communicate with you a little more to inform you of the process while your vehicle is being worked on only because I had a rental and needed to know when my vehicle would be ready and Or if the authorization was complete so I can extend my rental with enterprise. I had to do some leg work on my own several times calling them but other than that Great Service and I only say this so they can correct this to make services even greater! i brought my car into the shop for the first time a year ago after it wouldnt hold oil. i was told the issue was from a broken seal and was told my belts needed replacing due to being oil soaked. the staff were nice and their location was convenient to where my car broke down. after getting my vehicle fixed i noticed my car continued to leak oil from the same area that was 'fixed.' i was told it was a new problem and charged more money and suffice it to say my car still leaks oil from the area they repaired and even better the mechanic who worked on my car FORGOT to put lock tight on a screw for the pulley on my engine block and 3 months after their repair all the belts they replaced fell off while i was driving my vehicle on the freeway. i called the shop to inform them of the incident and was told "it wasnt their fault and that they never removed that pulley." after getting a reputable shop to fix my car i was informed that this was the area that all the repairs had been done per the receipt and work order. very disappointed by this and even more annoyed their shop calls me and continues to send me so much of their advertising! read more
