This was our first time with Stanley Steemer. Our carpets were cleaned by Derek and John and they did a fantastic job. They were thorough in their work, very professional, and friendly. Guys that came to the house....good guys. Issue is with the back office and their policies...inflexible. Purchased service contract for a number of cleanings. Contract expired with one cleaining remaing on contract. They did us a 'favor' by extending the date (i think the contract expired 60 days earlier...like we all have time to ponder when our carpet cleaning contract is due to expire!). Anyway, I asked if area rugs contiguously placed (less total sq footage than contract space) could be cleaned. This meant that the cleaners wouldn't be required to move any furniture or take equipment up and down a flight of stairs. Clearly to their benefit. "Yes, as a separate item and for additional money - $200!." PS The reason the original space didn't need cleaning - the family dog died, hence no need for that space to be cleaned. read more

Jason from Stanley Steamer was absolutely amazing! I am renting a home in Odenton, MD. I noticed the carpet was rough, matted down, and sticky. Also, in the family room there was a weird odor. The owners had hired another company to clean the carpet, but when we moved in it looked like the carpet had not even been touched. I contacted the owners let them know, and they sent the same company out again. I actually met with the guy of this said company and told him my concerns. I came back after the service was "completed" and it looked like nothing was done. So....I called Stanley Steamer to come out and see if they could fix the problem. Jason was so amazing. He contacted me when he got there and told me he saw what I was talking about, and that he would do the best he could to make it better. He was not sure what the problem was, and that it might just be normal fiber breakdown over time. Then a couple hours later Jason called again stating that there was excessive dry soap in the carpet, and that is why the carpet was sticky, matted down, and rough. He also found that laundry detergent had been spilled by the washer and dryer and cleaned all that up for me. The previous company who cleaned the carpet did not even mention that or note it. Jason also applied deodorizer to the room that had a weird odor, and the weird odor is completely gone. I will definitely be using Stanley Steamer again, and I will be requested Jason. read more

Hired Stanley Steemer out of Crofton/Bowie to clean my Mom's Love Seat and six dining room chair bottoms. The chair bottoms were very light material with light daily dirt. They sent a truck mounted rig with two guys who didn't care about anything but Gettin in, Get done and GET PAID. Were there less than a hour and charged almost $400. While they were cleaning the chair bottoms, the water coming out of their upholstery attachment kept leaving dirty streaks on the material. I went out and noticed the hose from their truck went around the back of the house but was not connected to our water faucet. They were cleaning with recycled dirty water from within the truck mounted tank. When I asked the " Technicians" about this, they said I didn't know what I was talking about and that the machine cost $10, 000. I don't care how much the f___ing machine cost. Dirty water is dirty water. To make this worse, they put Scotchgard over the dirt which sealed it in. I threw them out and got the knucklehead at their office to reverse the credit card charge or I would sue them. STAY AWAY FROM STANLEY STEEMER. read more

Soaked my carpet to the padding. I had to spot clean out stains they left behind. I had wet carpet that stunk to high heavens for almost two weeks. This inconvenienced myself and my family. After calling in three times the manager sends me a gift certificate for $100. This doesn't even cover the cost to reclean the floor which they did not do. As if I would ever trust them to clean my carpet again or spend a penny to do so. read more

I am so Angry with Stanly Steemer servicing the Waldorf Md area and the technician Steve! They give me a window of 11-4:00 p.m. to clean my carpet. I took off from work to move furniture around and to be there for the crew. I am having guess in my home in two days and depended on this service. Steve Calls me a 3:00 (4 hours into this ridiculous waiting window) to tell he cant come today because the crew needs to be off the streets by dark. I am pissed and will NEVER USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN!!!!! read more

Easy to schedule, great, friendly, respectful guys and nice job on my high traffic carpeted areas.

Had a couple of sofas and a chair cleaned, as well as several small area rugs. They came the same day I called to schedule -- they two guys were great, personable, polite. However......next morning I discovered the zipper line of 4 out of 5 seat cushions were ripped - 3 pretty badly. The woman from the office gave me a courtesy call a day or so later which I appreciated a lot. I told her about the ripping, and she said she'd tell her manager and he would be calling me--well it's been nearly two weeks. I will have to replace the cushion covers somehow -- no one has called. I will not recommend or use this company again. read more

5/30/2012 - Have used this company previously with excellent results, but it appears it is under new management because the cleaner announced that he would be charging 50% more than what the representative and email confirmation said they would be charging for the same 2 small rooms with protection. $99 to $149. read more
