I just had my carpets cleaned at my house and the results are great!! I've been calling Stanley Steemer for 3 years now and they NEVER disappoint me. The technicians communicate prior to arrival and are so polite. I appreciate the fact they walk the spaces and let me know when a stain may or may not come out. I had some disastrous stains in my daughter's room and they did such a great job. One of them wasn't going to come out 100% due to the fact it was there for a long period of time but the technician was so thorough and prepped me for worst case scenario. My carpets have that "brand new" look in the traffic areas (even though I know these carpets aren't.) I have attached photos to show what a great look my carpets had after being cleaned. I've used Stanley Steemer a few times and have always had great service. Over the weekend, one of the Stanley Steemer techs, Roman, arrived to clean our carpets and he did a fantastic job. He was extremely thorough with the work, explained everything quite well, but just as important, he was very cautious with our cats. He has cats as well and understood how freaked out they can get with loud noises and new people. While he was doing the stairs, one of our kitties ran down past him and hid in the living room. When he was done with the stairs, he offered to remove all of his equipment and hoses and close the front door while I calmed down the cat and got her settled upstairs. He understood what was going on and was kind enough to give me a few minutes to make sure she was ok before coming back in to finish the work. That concern and understanding meant just as much as the clean carpets. And, the carpets look amazing. We had lots of stains and nasty spots and Roman did a great job cleaning up everything. The young men arrived early (which was fine), but they were also rushed, and did not take the time needed to get some stains out of my carpet. They also did not get my tile floor grout clean. Stanley Steemer was not able to service our client as scheduled. An appointment was made with a confirmation number to find the technician didn't show up on time, actually over an hour early to have issues communicated to the call center from the minute the appointment was made. Rescheduled without the customer approval for the following day. Crew stated it appeared technician didn't want to work and left quickly. I called the company to ask what happened and the young lady couldn't find the correct paperwork with our confirmation number. Then told me there was a mistake on their paperwork and the appointment was scheduled for the next day. Again this is wrong and if that be correct they would not have been there the day they arrived early. I asked that a manager call me as I am a business owner and wanted to communicate the issue in hand. As a company my client is very important to me and the service provided from Stanley Steemer was worse than a one star review. No phone call from anyone to handle this poor service problem. I had a customer upset. This was the first time I have reached outside of Appleby in San Leandro as their service is superior and quality is awesome. These guys are big on advertising, BEYOND LOW on job quality! The commercial says, "Stanley Steemer gets your home cleaner"... that means slightly cleaner than it was before, but nowhere near being actually clean. What a hoax! I paid $199 for the carpets to be cleaned in my condo. THEY WEREN'T. I was given a 3 hour window for the techs to arrive, and much to my chagrin they showed up 3 minutes before that window expired. I told the techs that I had to run down the street to the store and would be right back. I returned in less than half an hour and they were already gone and left the receipt on my counter top. My living room carpet was wet but NOT CLEAN. Even the surface dirt was still there. It appears as though there was no suction whatsoever in their machine. Now I'm going to have to call them to complain so they can come back and really clean my living room. I would have done better to go rent a Rug Doctor for $30 at Orchard and do it myself, which is probably what I'll do next time after this experience. If you're going to get your carpets cleaned, stick with a local vendor that values quality customer service. Stanley Steemer is full of hot air! read more

I have four dogs and my carpets looked like they were ten years old not 3 years old. I called Stanley Cleaners and they gave me a quote on the phone and scheduled an appointment for the next day. Jeremi and Ron showed up explained what they were going to do. I had them clean a large family room, master bedroom, living room, dinning room and the hallway. They were very nice and professional. I've used SS on a few occasions but the latest on 6/3/2021 was by far the best. Daniel Boyd of Stanley Steamer was Expedient, efficient, and proficient. He called to tell me he was 10 minutes away and arrived on time. He demonstrated professionalism by how he set up his equipment before shampooing. This allowed him to begin and end the service fast and with efficiency. My carpet had spots from the fires last year that were removed and now it looks great. I had Stanley steamer come out to shampoo two carpets and clean the tile throughout my house. They did a decent job on the carpets but they did a horrible job on the tile. Stanley steamers uses the same type of tool to clean the tile that is used to clean the carpets. They use a system which pressure washes the tile. I'm not sure what they used to clean the tile, but after they finished I noticed there was little puddles all over the place. I asked the technician about the puddles and he said the puddles would dry. After a few hours they did dry but everywhere they dried the tile was super sticky and filmy. I called the Concord location and asked to speak to supervisor and was told that the supervisor was not in but would call me back in a couple of days. I explained that I had the tile cleaned for the new owners of our house and we were closing escrow in just a couple days. Well to this day I still am waiting for a supervisor to call me back. I paid almost $700 to have the floors and tiles cleaned and I ended up having to re-mop the floors myself and it took three times going over the floor and I still did not get all of the sticky residue cleaned up. This is totally unacceptable and I will never use this company again. This was a lot of money to pay to end up having to mop the floors myself. read more

I used to 4 star as I have used SS befoRe with mixed results but basically overall satisfied. Most of the techs are polite if not always professional I attribute to immaturity. Usually in pairs will usually assure a buddy system. I scheduled an appt well before the holidays for a no rushed job and was surprised to see one tech arrive. He told me that some other techs used his prepared truck and equipment to do the carpets at the San Jose police department the night before and left all a mess and inoperable item for him to use this day. He said it would be fine he was pretty sure. I asked if I should reschedule and he said all should be ok. When he left I checked the bedroom carpets to find my sock "squish " with water from the carpets. I also checked other rooms and found the same yet found dry places, I never experienced this before and found it took well over two days to dry. I also took pics of areas that were never touched by water. He did even bother to clean under the bed though there was plenty of clearance. I phoned a complaint and it took two weeks before I received a response from the area manager who did not ID himself in his text response and was refused any type of refund or even a partial refund. They left 2 blue dye spots on the carpet that bled into the pad along with dried soap/cleaning product spotted all over a chest that we didn't find until two days later when we went to get the room in order after the carpet dried. They said they used nothing blue but came back twice to try and clean it. We still have blue spots on our carpet. The manager was supposed to call us concerning our ruined finish on the chest. Two calls complaining about it and was told we would get a call but never got a call back from management! I would NEVER use this company again!! read more

I had two bedroom carpets steam cleaned along with my kitchen floor. The kitchen floor grout was extremely dirty. Our technician, George, was excellent. He was friendly but professional. He explained the process of cleaning our grout and he did a great job. I have used the competitor in the past and was not at all satisfied. Called around 8am not thinking I'd receive same day service, but the woman who answered the phone told me yes they could fit me in between 10-2. At 9:45 I received a text the technicians were on their way. At 10:05 they were here. Professional and knowledgeable, they cleaned the carpet in 8 rooms and were done in less than two hours. The carpet is only a year old but had lots of small stains from children and guests spilling drinks. It looks new again and I would highly recommend them for speed of service and end results. read more

I had my carpeting cleaned recently by Stanley Steemer and I really have to say that I am not satisfied with the results. Though my carpeting has been in for many years it is in pretty good shape (the crew even commented on that) and though I didn't expect them to look "new", I did expect them to look "brighter" or more vibrant somehow. What it looks like is that they went over the carpeting but without any cleaning solution and like it was just with water. I had this done a few months ago and it was apparent after the first week that they just didn't look much better at all. A few areas of outline (like around the plastic chair pad that my office chair sits on) were less "dirty" looking than before but they really don't look like they've been cleaned. I have had them done before and the results have never been quite so disappointing as they were this time. I vacuum my rugs every 3 days or so and, each time I do it I just realize the level of my dis-satisfaction with the recent job. I have a rug cleaning machine and have kept up on them periodically and I believe that I see better results from that (minus the hard work and hours it takes) than I have seen with this most recent experience with Stanley Steemer. I feel like I've thrown $300 to no good use. I chose them based on long-standing knowledge of Stanley Steemer as they and Coit are the most-widely known in the area. One cannot even tell the rugs were cleaned. I hated having my guests stay in the house with rugs that appeared "dingy". I will not use them again and will instead find another "non-name brand" cleaner to put my hard-working dollars towards. read more

First time we've used Stanley Steemer in many years. Although the one tech arrived towards the end of the 2-hour window, he got started right away. Did a good job on all the "regular wear" dirt and a great job on the pet stains (we have 2 dogs and dog-sit many others!). My only complaint is that, contrary to what I was told, it took a full 48 hours to dry. After 24 hours (which I was led to believe would be when it would be completely dry), we were still wearing the booties around our house just to keep our feet dry. Keep that in mind if you are planning anything for right after your carpets are cleaned....you need to wait at least 48 hours. read more

I would never use this company again. We have hardwood in our home and the two men that moved our furniture, just slid it around on the hardwood instead of placing the foam pads underneath. They ended up scratching my floors and then tried to deny it. I sat there and watched them do it, so eventually they admitted to it, but it was very uncomfortable. read more

Terrible experience. Stanley Steemer would not give us an estimate upfront to clean a single tile shower floor despite our asking. Once here they said it would be $350! We went through with it anyway after having to wait for them and prep our bathroom hoping they would at least do an amazing job. They were only able to do a partial and mediocre job though. Wish I could say the same for your Customer Service teams. When I booked my service I was told SS would be at the house at 7:30 am. When no one arrived, I called and was told there was a 2-hour window (not previously disclosed). The end result was a rescheduling of other appointments because of the time shift. When I asked CS to call dispatch to check arrival time, was told no way to reach them. When my cleaner arrived, I explained what happened and his remark was " I never received a call or note". He went on to say that if he had known I was waiting, he would have arrived sooner. How does something so simple get botched by CS? Tighten the training for these teams so customers and your own employees receive consistent communications in these type of situations. read more

I booked an appointment ~ 3 weeks in advance. 2.5 hours into my 4 hour window they call and say going to be 30 minute to 1.5 hours late! After 5 hours and 5 minutes of waiting I had somewhere I had to go I called and something like 'probably' 20-30 more minutes! So I reschedule, You think the first thing the next day since our house was in disarray getting house prepped for carpet cleaning? Nope! How about a couple of days later?! Think I would be first? Nope 4 hour window! 3.5 hours into that window they do show up. So how does the company compensate for 9 hour delay? They do NOTHING! read more

I used them a few years ago, and the service was pretty good. I used them again today, and it was horrible. The kid was nice, but he was lazy and unprofessional. He didn't move little pieces of furniture, and he did not place the little form things under the furniture after he was done. I paid for a room to get deodorized, but he only spayed a small area of the room. He did a horrible job cleaning up. I called Stanley Steamer to complain, and they could care less. I had my 14yo tile and grout cleaned for the first time recently and am very happy with the results. The two person team arrived early for my scheduled time and promptly set to work cleaning the tile and grout in my kitchen, laundry room and front entry. They did a good job, were professional and did not leave a mess a behind. They explained the process and we discussed other services the company provided, however there was NO pressure to upsell me on other services. Overall happy with the results and would use again as well as recommend to others. Only thing preventing me from a full 5 star is the price is a bit high but they often run discounts when you purchase a certain amount in services.
