Technician never showed. Window from 8-9 am. At 8:40 I called, put on hold for five minutes. Was told technician "en route," would be there at "ten to nine." But never showed. They later blamed it on a traffic accident, but this didn't explain why they said technician would show at "ten to nine." I asked to speak with the branch manager, but he was unavailable. They offered a 10% discount if I rescheduled, but you have to ask yourself whether you want to risk experiencing another no show. I took time off from work for this appt too. read more

The guys where on time with quick setup, clean carpets and did not leave them to wet, they put down front door mats as not to track dirt back into the house, put up signs that carpets are wet and furniture protectors were used. No complaints here and my wife gave them a small tip, great job done. read more

Stanley Steemer cleaned two white sofas and six white dining room chairs. The sofas were heavily soiled from our black dog rubbing against them. We are amazed at how beautiful they are now! I scheduled my appointment a week in advance and signed up for an 11am-2pm slot. When no one had arrived by 1:45pm (and I hadn't received the courtesy of a call to explain the delay), I called the company to make sure I had not fallen off the schedule. I was assured that the technicians were running a little late, but would arrive no later than 2pm. A few minutes later, I received a call back from the company adivsing that the technicians were on their way. Shortly thereafter, my husband arrived home and stated that he had just observed a Stanley Steemer van driving down the nearest cross street in the wrong direction. I called the company back to advise them that the driver may be lost, and was shocked when I was advised that my appointment had been cancelled because the driver had called in that he had arrived at my house (he had not), and no one was home (I was working on our front porch). I called the company back and lodged a formal complaint based on the driver's false statement to support an appointment cancellation. I understand that technicians get backed up on calls and can run late for appointments. What I don't understand is the culture of a company that supports a driver lying to get out of a scheduled appointment. I will never, ever use Stanley Steemer again. read more

Really disappointed. First of all my carpet was pretty clean with the exception of one small area on the stairs. The technician left dirty smudge marks on the newly painted walls from the extremely dirty hose and also his dirty handprints. The carpet still was very wet in several areas the next day and a large section in the living room was left undone done. Customer service sent out another technician who redid the wet area and it dried by the end of the day. There was also a huge stain left in an area that was not there prior to getting the service. I went out and purchased a carpet cleaner and it did a much better job. It even removed that horrible stain that was left by Stanley Steemer. Will never use them again. read more

The guys were courteous, professional and gave me highlights as they completed each room. Best thing is there was no hard sell on any additional "upgrades". I have been a long-time customer of stanley steamer. Today's experience has ended that. I have always used the Napa office, however, when I called this time to schedule service I was given a 1-800 number and directed through the Concord office. Mistake number 1! I had a large job scheduled and expected 2 technicians as usual. First of all, no one called to let me know they were on the way as had been past practices. I waited around for the 2 hour window, until finally one technician showed up. He reluctantly put on a mask as he walked into my house , did not put on the paper booties, as has always been the case pre Covid-19, and asked in a very lackluster manner where the job was. He had the attitude that he was doing me a favor by showing up. Actually began to be argumentative with me. I cancelled the job on the spot as I was beginning to feel very uncomfortable - and not willing to spend almost $400 for what was clearly going to be a poor job. I will no longer recommend SS to ANYONE. read more

Had a stain in a microfiber couch, called my warranty company and they sent out a team from Stanley Steemer. The team of Corey and Elvis were very professional, knowledgeable, and careful in their work. After several tries, they got the stain out, then dried the couch. They were both VERY customer focused, polite, and knew what they were doing and when faced with an obstacle, kept working until they were successful. No excuses or giving up with these guys. Would definitely recommend this office and especially this team! Ask for them by name! read more

So called Stanley Steamer for an appt to clean my tile floors and grout for a 3 story home. Told person will arrive between 12-6 with a call an hour prior. Called 30 mins prior, which was fine. What was not fine was the guy being in my home less than 3 mins stating he had to "test" my floors for wax and if wax could not clean them. Got a sense he didn't feel like cleaning them. Test showed wax! Would have loved knowing about the wax test / requirement during call to make appt. essentially wasted an entire day, have to put a lot of stuff back FOR NOTHING!!! Big fail and will NEVER use Stanley Steamer again! First and last time! If I could leave 0 stars I would! Don't waste your time with Stanley!!! read more

We had carpet damage in two upper-story bedrooms during the MLK weekend from rain. We called these guys because they had the biggest ad in the yellow pages. They cut up some of the carpet near the windows, some of the sheet rock and ripped off some of the baseboard in the bedrooms. They hung around for three days supposedly to totally clear the dampness and eliminate the risk of mold. Well, every other contractor who came to provide us a repair estimate, including the carpet company, and the insurance adjustor were shocked that they cut up the carpet. There was no reason to do that they all said. It was a one time damage caused by the storm and not a long term water leak or anything like that. They exercised very poor judgment. Even some of their own people who came on either the second or third day said it was a bad decision. Now we have to deal with all the hassles. If there was some way to give them a negative star, I would award that medal to them. read more

I called and complained about the job done on our carpets. They came out the next day and redid the problem areas. The staff were awesome and knowledgeable. They took their time and got rid of all the original problems. I'm sorry that I wrote such a bad review- although they deserved it. I am glad I called and complained. They immediately addressed my problem, with great customer service. Yes I will use Stanley Steemer again. Original complaint- written on 10/7/12.----(This is the 2nd time that I used Stanley Steemer. The 1st time I was pleased, this time I was very disappointed. The young man seemed in a hurry. He didn't seem to try to get the spots out. He was very pleasant but didn't seem to care whether he got the carpet clean or not. My carpets are off white, I had the stairs done, the back of the stair didn't seem to be touched. There are still Dark streaks on the carpet. The entire job was unsatisfactory. This time they were in and out. The machine was smoking while they did the carpeting up stairs. Booked an appointment online..it was quick and easy. They had a next day early AM appt available which was great, but I needed some time to move furniture around, so I scheduled the following day. I received a phone call from the dispatcher telling me the tech was on his way and he was at my home within a half hour. Today was my first Stanley steamer experience with a tech named Vince. He was professional and made sure I was pleased with the work he had done on my carpets before he packed his tools up to leave. He definitely saved me from spending tons of money to replace my carpet. It looks and feels brand new again!! And With 5 kids and 5 dogs, just like me, my 5 year old carpet needed some serious help LOL After he was done, I immediately started breathing better. Vince even up-sold some other services to me, which wasn't hard seeing how good a job he did on my carpet. I wasn't aware that Stanley does interior on cars, changes tile grout color & much more. Vince will be doing my car interior very soon and maybe the grout next LOL. At the end of the visit, he gave me the run down of everything I received and how often to use their services to keep our carpets well maintained & other special offers to take advantage of while they are available. I would not recommend this company for the elderly. They frighten and take advantage. We are unsuccessfully trying to rectify what was essentially harassment by the cleaner. They charged in great excess of the quote and would not leave until the new adjusted payment was received. read more

I just got ripped off. The $99 special is a hoax! They spend all of about 30 minutes cleaning your carpet and it does not improve anything. They tried selling me some useless concotions they are selling. I asked if they could do my bedroom while they were there before the guy started, he said no. I called the company they said yes, they called him and told him to do it. He was mad at me. They charged me for the extra room, but the guy basically dragged a hose across it for 5 minutes and left. My baby was still sleeping and so they said they would get everything set up and ready to go and by the time they were done, the baby was awake! They worked at a good speed, were very pleasant and even gave me a coupon for the next time they come out. The carpet, they removed all the spots and it looks perfect for Christmas. Caught one of the employees rummaging through my dresser drawers while the other coworker was cleaning the family room carpet. After asking them to leave and calling their supervisor, the supervisor had another crew come to my house and finish cleaning my carpet because the soap/cleaner was left on my carpet since the previous job was interrupted. On top of everything that had happened, the supervisor still expected me to pay for the service!! HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN. Neither will anyone else in my neighborhood. I rarely leave reviews either good or bad but I felt it was necessary to help others to leave this review. Do NOT use this company! Worst carpet cleaning service I have ever received. The cleaning itself was the worst. The carpets were sobbing wet upon completion. Not damp, but wet as in a bucket of water was spilled on them which is leaving more spots in the drying processing then we started with. It has been 24 hours since our service and we still have wet spots. Only one cleaner came out to do our job. He "tried" to move our couches by himself but obviously got frustrated that he couldn't move them himself and just put placer under them and didn't actually clean under them. Also while he "tried" to move the couches he bent the frame of the couch. We had moved all of our items off of end table and night stands so the carpet could be easily cleaned. Per the website it says they clean under those items. I asked the cleaner he said yes. But of course he did not! 4 bedroom house with large family/dining/living area and he was in and out in an hour. That in and of itself tells you the cleaning job we received. For a $500.00 servie I would have expected much more. read more

Too bad no zero star rating. First let me say that I've used Stanley Steemer in the past with no complaints. But this time I am so unhappy. First, they gave me a call that they would be at my home within half an hour and then were late with no apologies. Then, the main guy Christopher told me the carpet would be dry within 4 hours. They left at 3:00 in the afternoon. That evening at around 7, I called them saying my carpets were still quite wet. The person on the phone apologized for any misunderstanding but that it takes more like 12 hours to dry. Next morning, still quite wet. I call them back and they said the would come back for further extraction. The window for them to arrive comes and is almost at the end when I get a call asking how the service was. Boy did I lay into the poor girl. Needless to say, they never showed up and I will never use them again. (Oh, this morning, a day and a half later, the carpet is finally dry!) read more

Just had carpets cleaned by Stanley Steemer, Concord. They rushed thru 5 rooms in less than 1.5 hours, cost over $400 and the carpets were not much cleaner than when they started. So compared to another company that did the carpets a few years ago, Stanley Steemer was 3 times as expensive, 2 times faster and 10 times less effective. I think they were more interested in getting to the next job than in doing a good job. read more

I was absolutely amazed with this service. Stanley Steemer sent two team members, who arrived on time and were extremely friendly and professional. They explained everything that they were going to do ahead of time, and they worked very well together, moving the furniture for me and putting it back on protective pads when they finished. Immediately, I saw a difference in the carpet. I have two dogs and two young children, so you name it, it has spilled on my carpet. Stanley Steemer got out old dark stains that had been there for over a year, and they left me some spot cleaner (for free!) and explained how to remove any stains that may resurface. And best of all, they did not charge me anymore than they quoted me on the phone. I got the two-room $99 special, and based on the needs I expressed, they even offered me three future two-room cleanings for just an extra $267. (With this deal, I also get 20% off any additional services I may request, such as the deoderizer or upholstery cleaner.) As someone who has been ripped off by private carpet cleaning companies in the past (check out my review of Green Clean in San Jose!), I highly recommend Stanley Steemer. Go with the well-known company that has a good reputation. That way, you can always trust that you're getting what you asked for. read more

I dropped a glass of red wine on white carpet in my home. Could not get it clean - in a panic. Went online and set up an appointment - so easy to use their website. Anyone who has owned or at least ran a business knows it is not cheap. My review is not about price and more to do with service. You can't compare using a rug doctor vs a professional service. The cost associated with two people, mobile equipment, the owner making some profit, and our wonderful states taxes, workers comp,etc, isn't the same. My home has 25, 10, and 3 year old carpet and we have a dog. We vacuum twice a week and I am cheap so why have the carpets replaced or cleaned. I cleaned a spot the other day and it was evident I needed to have the carpets cleaned. I opted for Stanley Steamer as I had used them up in Sonoma County years ago. I made the apppointment early on Friday for a cleaning late on Friday using the web estimator. They called ahead and arrived on time. I moved all the little items ahead of time. The placed protective corners and mats and asked for a "sewer drain" or clean out before they even started. It's not like the old days when they let it go in the storm drain. They tapped into the sewer overflow protection device in front of most newer homes. With older carpet and dogs, I opted for the Supershield to prevent stains and I had the tile cleaned and sealed. Shame on me for not using grout sealer and the wrong floor cleaner after I installed the tile! The end result a day later is very clean carpet and clean tile and grout lines. I don't know how well the 25 year old carpet will hold up, but the pile looks good and they got out some funky stains (get your mind out of the gutter). Other than the clean carpet/tile and protective blocks/ plastic sheets under the furniture, there is no sign they were ever here. I have already recommended them to others and suggest you ask for Travis D and Christopher U. I was the last appointment of the day on Friday. They didn't milk the job nor did they rush through it and they communicated with each other and myself during the whole process. read more

Just had our recently vacated entire townhouse done by two men who did an excellent job. A few years ago we stopped using Stnaley Steemer because of their failure to properly spot clean certain areas, but decided to give them another try. This time we again showed them the trouble areas and they did them all properly to our entire satisfaction. They took their time by keeping the wand on the carpet all the time and not trying to fly through the entire place in an hour. A job done really well. read more

The 5 star rating that I am leaving is ONLY for the TECHNICIAN WHO SAVED THE DAY. ELVIS IS THE MAN who came out to execute the carpet cleaning. He was given incorrect information by the dispatch office. he was given INCORRECT INFORMATION as to what time to arrive. I explained to him the interaction that my mother had with the very rude and inconsiderate dispatch office and he was more than apologetic for the error on their part because they gave him the wrong time to arrive, and they did not follow protocol for whom to contact. They failed to acknowledge their errors. Technicians like Elvis exemplify consideration, kindness, ACCOUNTABILITY & professionalism and over the top customer service. He did an excellent job cleaning the carpets. Elvis understands that he is an ambassador for Stanley Steamer and his brand of kindness and professionalism is something that was not taught by them. Elvis made a choice and has standards. His awareness is his SUPER POWER. I hope the dispatch office does a better job in the future executing the job they've been given. Dispatch was unconcerned and absent minded, all they wanted was payment information. they dropped the ball, were not apologetic at all and in fact they were very snarky and rude. I appreciate Elvis's efforts today and that is why there is a 5 star rating..I HOPE STANLEY STEAMER RECOGNIZES THAT YOUR PEOPLE CAN CRUSH YOUR COMPANY BY GIVING POOR SERVICE. WORD OF MOUTH TRAVELS. The couch did smell again.... they came back, no charge, and deodorized the couch until the liquid dripped from the bottom of the couch to the floor. The smell is finally gone, but the baby powder smell really isn't much better. They need to update their smells and get new ones, not everyone likes the smell of baby powder..... read more

I've cleaned the carpets myself in the past with an older Hoover steam vac, and have gotten okay results, but the pro cleaning is much better. read more

Would not recommend this service to anyone!!!! They were scheduled to come out and clean our carpets. When they came to the door I told them they could get started and I would be back in 10 minutes. (I had talked to the owner the day before and explained this.) They left before I got back because I did not have the pictures and stuff off the end tables. (No one told me to remove anything on the tables). They did not lock my house or close my garage door. I have used them in the past and had no problems until now. Since I had most of everything off the floors and had taken the day off, I decided to rent the rug doctor. TOTALLY IMPRESSED. The rug doctor did a great job...saved myself $150.00. The only big draw back it is work. But definitely would do it again myself. read more

I had a great experience with this company. I asked them to do a few more things that I hadn't thought of when I set up the appointment , and there was no problem accomodating me. They were professional and friendly. The carpets look fantastic, and we had some pretty heavy traffic dirt, plus dog stains and even wine stains. All came out and the carpet looks like new. I love that you can set up your appointment on-line and that you pick out what you want done and you can see the price right there. Not a quote, the actual price. No upcharges, and they even cleaned a couple stains at the entry of two rooms that weren't on the list, without charge. They cleaned 4 breakfast room chairs and they look like new. I didn't know they did kitchen grout, so I got a piece of exra tile for the testing, and it was very faint, but it looked like the cleaner removed some of the finish, so he said it would probably come out uneven and passed on the job. I appreciate that they didn't just do it for the money and leave me with a mess. I had the protective coat put on all that they cleaned and it only too 2 hours. I didn't feel like they rushed anything, and when I apologized for asking for extra services, he said they have several trucks so that if a team is done later, a different team goes in so that they stay close to the appointment times.
