Stanley Steamer is the WORST company, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER trust them! They do not not ask or tell you what water source you will need. I waited a week for appointment, then waited 3 hours for them to get there, THEN we went through my condo for and hour. THEN AND ONLY then did he come in with ONE adapter for my sink, as I have no spiked in my garage, which NO ONE ever asked me. The adapter OF COURSE did not fit. It was Stanley Steamers FAILURE to do a thorough appointment intake. I WAS THE ONE WHO SUFFERED. Called back for manager and again OF COURSE there was no manager available and I spent another 2 hours on hold. I asked why none of these VERY IMPT questions were asked to me during the initial call, he took NO responsibility for STANLEY STEAMERS FAILURE and told me nothing he could do. I was supposed to put condo on market this Monday, It took me a couple hours to prepare for their appointment. My entire life turned upside down by their FAILURE as I was never asked THE MOST IMPT questions during my setting my appointment. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER use this company. They. could not take ownership of their MISTAKE and blamed the VICTIM, ME!!!!! So we had Stanley steamer come over to clean our carpets today and honestly, the guy that did it shout out to Dakota. He was really nice. The quality was really good. He worked very hard. The value was amazing and he was just so well organized with the value he was so organized. He did the basement first because my dad asked if he could do the basement first he asked me about if school has started yet and it hasn't but I talked to him about school. I talked to him about Softball. He was just kind and he thought my name was the same as his fiancé's but he's really nice. He's funny he's caring but generally like I recommend them to anybody who has had a dog pee in their house and is continuing to do that because that will really help them out with getting the smell out especially if you have someone coming to visit you in the next month or so but I just I definitely recommend them because they do a great job and I know we will use them whenever we have a problem like dog cleaning service and we have that tomorrow. They have you sign a tablet and say the full invoice will be emailed to you and when you look at it they never applied the coupon! Then you call customer service, and they only say it came out in the total which is totally false and never communicated that way. DO NOT USE STANLEY STEEMER- SCAM!! I put the order in for basic cleaning (absolutely no add-ons) and the guy showed up with that correct order (which the call center confirmed) and proceeded to scam their way into applying an upgrade. Their phone number goes into a call center and you have to argue your way into speaking to anyone besides the call center person who has no authority to do anything. The "manager" is basically a rude person that talks over you and just spews without even understanding the problem. He stated the order is meaningless...only what the guy can manage to scam/sell you at the house is what matters. He was fine and rather proud to have me put that in the review. Even when the technician was told to stop from putting any more deodorizer on the floor he continued to try to sell it, along with trying to sell cleaning more rugs even after being told no several times. What a racket....they have no integrity. The manager readily admitted he was not ok with the guy continuing to try to sell after he was told to stop but refused to do anything about it and hung up. They took one look at the room and the price changed from 59.00 dollars to 210.00 dollars. They said the first amount was for basic cleaning. We recently called Stanley Steemer to clean our tile floor and come and give a bid to clean two of our bathroom shower tiles. When I scheduled I made it known that I had a steamer at home but that I was unable to complete the showers myself and found it best to call and have them do it. I explained that I am injured and am having surgery and cleaning them was just too painful for me.The lady on the phone was polite and agreeable about my decision. I felt that this is the best way to get this done quickly and less painfully before my surgery. Our tech arrived. I showed him the showers and the floors. I let him know about my steamer and how well it worked but that I could not complete the cleaning myself. He quoted me $75 per shower and an additional $50 to do the tub and floor. Totaling $200 not including the tile kitchen floor. I agreed. After he QUICKLY cleaned the showers I told him that they did not look much cleaner. He explained that I need to replace the caulking and the grout. That he can not clean it. I explained that my hand held steamer WAS cleaning it. He told me that Stanley does not in fact use high temperatures or steam. Power wash and vacuum basically. Some chemicals as well. The showers did not have a noticeable improvement. Some areas even had make up from my daughter and Ajax on them that was still there after he "cleaned them" (I have photos) He then moved to the floors. I also did not see a difference in the floors and asked him if he truly believed these were clean. He swore that they were and pulled out a white cloth to "prove" it to me. The cloth did not come back white after he rubbed it on the floor. He redid them and left. Once my husband arrived home we went up to the showers with the steamer and almost instantly the grout that "needed replaced" was clean with a good once over. The caulking as well except for a few spots. I was so upset at the money I spent with such horrible results. I called back to speak to someone. They told me that the pictures that the tech took DO show a difference. They put me in contact with Caitlyn who also told me that she agrees that there is a difference. She was willing to have them come back and clean again however as I said my husband (after working 13 hours that day) did it with our steamer. I also have pictures of when they left and what my husband did. We did not have to replace grout or caulking. Yes he could have done this himself but works so many hours for our hard earned money that we thought it best to have it done professionally. Caitlyn then had her supervisor Rod call me and leave a message that they will come back and do it over....AGAIN it is already done. BY US! I needed them cleaned before I had surgery. They refuse any kind of refund. I was not told before hand that he would not be able to get them clean or that they do not use steam or high heat. I was only told after the fact. I spoke of this when I scheduled and did point it out to our tech. I feel like I should have been told that their services do would not give me the same results as I was receiving with my steam cleaner. This fraud. First experience with Stanley was awesome (2022). This one, not so much. We requested carpet cleaning (basement carpets), grout and tile cleaning (basement bathroom and kitchen) and leather sofa cleaning. We also had two area rugs cleaned (5'x7' and a 5' round rug that belongs to my mother). The technician stated he would clean two small (door entry sized) rugs for no additional charge (I was not going to have them cleaned). Online service order was for approximately $600. Final bill over $800. The technician upsold the sanitizer/deodorizer as "buy one for $34.99 and get the others at no charge." Well. I was lied to. I was charged for the two small area rugs ($5.50 and $5.00) and $137 ($34.25 x 4) for Std Area Deodorize. Additionally, I was handed a hand held devise for payment. The script was so small, I was unable to see the totals, however the tip buttons are big enough for you to see from across the room. Yes, I did tip $40 and I am ill over it. My fault, I will own my mistake, I should have asked the total at the time and not had this headache. I should be able to trust that I am being told the truth by a representative of Stanley Steemer. This did not happen. As for the cleaning, we do agree that the areas look cleaner, however they were not clean. Our leather sofa did not appear to have been cleaned at all and I refunded my mother for the cleaning of her area rug. She laughed when I told her that Stanley offered to reclean the rug and stated she had cleaned it herself. I reached out to the Stanley Steemer local office. They did offer to send someone back out to redo the cleaning and I declined as we have two dogs (one is a puppy), we have a 94 year old relative living with us and we have the ordeal of retrieving and delivering my mother's 5' round rug. Scheduling for this cleaning is a job in and of itself. They did also offer a $200 gift card for future use. Here is my customer service tip. If a customer is calling you to tell you that they believe that your Company representative was deceitful and charged more than what you were told, maybe a gift certificate for future use is not the answer. I purchased a couch on Craigslist for free. It needed some cleaning love. Made an appointment the same day, the two people who came were so professional, friendly and nice! I live in an apartment and they needed a spigot to run water for the steamer. I would recommend there be more questions asked of folks in apartments (maybe they know how to do it w/out the spigot). I was remiss in that I did not read the previous reviews prior to scheduling with this company. I had them come to clean my home office carpet. After hearing a loud crash I went to the office to find the tech putting an antique cookie jar left to me by my grandmother back on the bottom shelf. I watched from the doorway as it was obvious he was having a hard time placing it and it appeared he could not get the lid to sit properly. When asked if it was broken he stated "I dont think so". I had him hand it to me and the top was not only broken but the under part that stabilizes it in the top of the jar was in shards. It was obvious he was trying to put it back in place so I would not know it was broken. After he left I found a deep gouge in the wall likely from the wand when he was pulling it back during the cleaning process. He did not report that to me at all. After speaking with the area manager, Brent Hamilton, he agreed to refund the price of the service for the one room and compensate the cost of the jar (which of course was priceless to me) and the repair to the wall. I sent an email to confirm our conversation and he denied the agreement. Spoke to the next manager up the line who refused to make good on the agreement with the area manager. The tech was dishonest and deceptive, initially lying about the jar being broken and clearly intending to hide what had happened by trying to put it back in its place looking as if it wasnt broken, didnt report the damage he caused to the wall. The manager denied a portion of the agreement we came to, going back on his word and the manager above him refused to address any of it. Highly recommend not using this company. We had the carpet and wood floors cleaned our home in Erie - not only was their price higher than expected, the results were not acceptable. They did a poor job on the main area rug and from what I can tell, basically mopped the wood floors. My wife and I redid the area rug with a new Bissell unit and sucked out massive amounts of dirt (water was very dark). Rug looks like new. We will never use them again. read more

Never ever use Stanley Steamer on you hard wood floors!! They have completely ruined them. They left major scratches, because they went across grain and left so much water damage. They won't take responsibility for any if it. The finish has delaminated. Their Corp office says it's only a product like Bona. I only use water to clean them. We had professional refinishers come out, they said it is the Polyurethane finish that has come up. SS said they would give us $167.00 back for the service. We are going to have to pay $3,000 dollars to fix their mistake. They said they would be willing to come out and scrape off the finish. What about the scratches and the cupping of the wood. Our insurance company called SS to remove standing water from our crawl space after a pipe burst. They showed up an hour past their window, then said it was just an assessment & could not actually do the extraction. They would put us on the schedule the following day. Next day, we called halfway through our window to check and were told that they were running late so would be an hour past our window. Got a text an hour past the window that they were on their way and never showed! Tried calling the scheduler again today but he keeps sending our calls to vmail. Classy. We have used Stanley Steemer for over ten years and for homes we owned in Highlands Ranch and Castle Rock. We have also utilized their tile & grout cleaning services. Their work has always been acceptable. They always try to up-sell additional services like furniture cleaning, duct cleaning, and carpet stain prevention, but we have declined these services. November 2017, we had them come in for a thorough whole house cleaning, something we had done multiple times before. I submitted the same on-line quote info as previously used. When the technician came to me and asked me to approve the pricing it was more than 300% our previously paid amount. He stated that Stanley Steemer management was forcing price increases and reevaluating previous work practices. I eventually talked to a regional manager and approved a 150% increase over the same worked performed last year. Recently, we scheduled a small job, with an on-line quote of $137. The technician recalculated the job to $330 and asked for my approval. I refused. He recalculated again and came down to $195. I refused and sent him away. Two days later I had the same work completed, by a different company, with great results for $140. Stanley Steemer has lost me as a customer forever. read more

If I could leave a 0, I would. Requested dryer duct cleaning and got immediate response that it could be done. First tech "could only assess the job needed to be done and give us an estimate." Waste of time off of work.. made a 2nd appt for Friday and received notice from 1st tech that he want available on Thursdays...??? (again, we made appt for Friday) 2nd tech sent to our home came in Friday, two hours before our quoted time frame, and said that they "did not bring equipment needed to clean the dryer vent," and that "i think the exhaust Is on the roof of the buikding, and we will have to submit a different request to do that work, because I can't get on the roof...and it will cost you a lot more than originally quoted.. " (the exhaust for our dryer vent is litterally right outside of our front door, and we are in a 1st floor condo in a 3 story complex.. clearly our vent wasnt built to go up 3 stories and out of the roof) When I called customer service to inquire why this simple job was so hard to conduct, and the 2nd tech was not equipped with the tools needed to do this job, I was put on hold to "get Sean who takes care of this dept..." I was at work and had to hang up. I got a VM telling me that "Sean is on vacation and i can have him call you Monday.) Such a waste of time to have incompetent people in our home. I don't know if the people they hire are trained to do this work, or if they are just unreliable employees, but I will never turn to this company again, and I certainly will not recommend them to anyone. This unprofessionalism is unacceptable and frustrating. We are new home owners and working through all the "surprises" that we are discovering, so to deal with horrible service from a "reputable" company, is not very helpful. Our carpet doesn't look any better than what it did before plus we had rippling because Eric used too much water. I had purchased the deodorizer and protect and Eric stated the deodorizer would last 4-6 months! Not even one day! The customer service is a complete joke! I had to call 5 times just to get a response to get someone to call me back. We were actually referred by a good friend who claimed to have a great experience with this company. Unfortunately, I should've got on Yelp prior to scheduling because others had the same experience. They never showed or bothered to call even passed the scheduled time. They were scheduled to show between 12-5pm. My wife called them @ 4:50pm and they said they were around the corner. If I at least got a courtesy call from the technician; I would've given them a chance to wait or reschedule. It's 7:10pm and I just called and spoke to Jenny (operator) and cancelled and I explained why, and she just said ok thank you for calling. Had Stanley Steemer (Englewood) come out today to clean an upholstered chair in our nursury and the interior of my husbands car. They did a great job! The car looks awesome (especially when you consider most places charge you $200+ for detailing. SS was $84. Boom!) I should mention that they just do the upholstry so not as detailed as "detailing" but looks awesome all the same. They also got several stains out of the chair and were very honest about one stain on the back of the chair that they couldn't get it out; but it had lightened significantly. The crew I got was super sweet and polite. They did try to upsell me like crazy but just like the other reviewers said they weren't pushy, just doing their job. When I moved into my new house, I definitely wanted to clean the carpets beforehand. It was very easy to get a quote and make an appointment online. They arrived in their window of time and were friendly and professional. They also wasted no time and got down to business right away. Watch out for the upsell! I was convinced to buy the deodorizing and I really could have done without it. I only had 2 concerns. 1)After they were done, I still found dog hair on the carpet from the previous owners. I asked beforehand and they said it would pick up dog hair no problem. I don't know how much was left behind, but there was hair remaining. 2)They finished my entire house in 15 minutes. 3 bedrooms, a hallway, 2 sets of stairs, living room, and family room in 15 minutes. All of the carpets looked like they had been cleaned. I'm just skeptical of how they could do a thorough job on 1400 square feet of space in 15 minutes. read more

Not a terrible job with the carpet cleaning, we never got to that point. They never showed up for the appointment! After giving us an estimate of being there between 1-6 pm, they never showed. We called at 6:15 to find out where they were, and after tracking down the driver, they said their earlier appt. ran over and couldn't make it, would we like to reschedule? I THINK NOT! we told them how we had waited around all afternoon and they could only say sorry, we'll be there on time for your next appointment. I am disappointed in thoroughness of cleaning. We had carpets done 3 weeks ago. Today, we found a spot where our grandkids had spilled some milk last week. We used our home Bissell machine to clean the area and I was surprised at how much dirt we pulled up. Discoloration in high traffic areas has already come back. Moving is never an easy endeavor and top on my list before I move in is to get the house spic & span and feeling cozy. This is the first time I used Stanley Steemer and what I liked is that it was so easy to make an appt. online - They had lots of availability so I didn't have to wait for a week to get a crew over to my new place. The staff were very quick, very professional and respectful of my space. I thought the price ($169 for 3 rooms and a full staircase) was reasonable and the carpets turned out great. They were in & out in no time, which made me happy. The one thing that surprised me, though, was when I called to get a sense of where the crew was (I had a 2pm - 6:00 pm window & needed to get to an appt. in the early evening), the dispatch center wasn't really helpful. It was as if they didn't have contact with the crew so they couldn't tell me their time frame. It all turned out fine in the end, but for future reference, just make sure you are "good to go" with the appointment window you select. I hired Stanley Steamer To clean four rooms, a stairway, a hallway, two area rugs, a couch and a loveseat. They quoted me a price of 858 which I was more than willing to pay. They had me scheduled for seven hours. The cleaner arrived on time and worked for an hour and 15 minutes. None of the floors or area rugs were clean. The couch and loveseat looked fine. I complained to him about the amount of time that he spent on the floors and he said they would not come clean. I called customer service and they returned my call a few days later. I missed the call and returned the call and left a message. Another week went by and they called me back and I answered but no one was on the line. I received a bill in the mail and called customer service to try and get the matter resolved. They were very rude and said they would not work with me until I paid the full amount. I have now gone to collections. I was always willing to work with them but was unable to get them to even admit that an hour and 15 minutes and dirty carpets was unreasonable. I have used them many times in the past and always paid my bill and was happy with the service. I feel like this is nothing short of extortion. read more
