This place is a SCAM. So.. it all started when I saw their advertisement for a contact exam and contacts for $110, I thought this deal was too good to be true so I called and talked to someone, not only did he ENSURE me that the price was correct with no loop holes but also mentioned other free things with the package, so I make an appt.... I go into my appt clarifying that I'm getting the $110 packages she proceeds by asking what contact lenses I wear.... THEN tells me the package is for only first time wearers only, so I of course tried to say I was a firstimer and when she firstly TRICKED me by asking what type of lens's first.. I talked to the manager telling him my situation (I asked off work just to be scammed) and he told me the ONLY thing he could do is give me 50% off glasses... I HAD TO PAY $90 JUST FOR AN EXAM WHEN I WAS TOLD NOT ONLY BY ONLINE BUT A EMPLOYEE I TALKED TO OVER THE PHONE THAT I WOULD GET A BOX OF CONTACTS AND AN EXAM FOR $110. The glasses are also a scam, I looked around to try and get compensated for this horrible experience and went to the "designer" section, $200 for "Christian" Brand glasses............ BEST OF YET: I got a box of contacts $80.... the manage told me they would be in within 3 days...... 3 WEEKS LATER AND I FINALLY GOT A CALL. DO. NOT. DO. IT. IT. IS. A. RIP. OFF. read more

WORST customer service I've ever had at a medical facility if you can even call this place that. I had an appointment at 3:30, and I came 15 min early to fill out any forms I needed to as a new patient and let them see my insurance. I checked online to make sure I was in network before even going there. When I arrived the girl at the front desk asked if I was there for an appointment and I said yes and she proceeded to nod and walk away without asking for my name or insurance. So I sat down and waited, assuming that she would get around to me eventually. Another family comes in after 5 or 10 min later and she immediately brings an IPad asking them to fill out their information. I asked "Did you need mine too?" To which she replied "Uh..yeah" and finally she takes my insurance card and ID. She proceeds to write down my social security information on a sticky note, and leave my ID card and Insurance card on her desk for 10 min unattended. She then comes to try and verify my coverage (after my appointment time had past mind you) but you could tell how poorly trained she was by the lack of any type of common sense she had in checking coverage as she couldn't figure out what insurance website to check and she tried to push two different "discounted rates" on me. I was fuming at this point but I kept my cool and I just told her to cancel my appointment to which she happily said "Okay!" As if it was the only thing she had been properly trained to do. She also had a runny nose and kept wiping it with her hand without washing in between attending patients so to be honest after leaving and thinking about it I'm very glad I didn't decide to trust a place like that with my eyes. I've worked at medical offices and my experience with this place reflects extremely poorly on the management. Train your staff and take care of your patients. read more

THIS MAY BE LONG, BUT IT IS WORTH YOUR TIME. I was attracted to them by their advertisement claiming you get a free eye exam + 2 pairs of glasses for only $59.95. I felt this was too good to be true so I called for further information for a FREE EYE EXAM and the man on the phone confirmed it. After getting my eye exam, I was told that if I didn't buy at least one pair of glasses, I would have to pay $95 for the eye exam. Of course, I didn't want to pay $95 when I was told it was FREE. After my exam, I browsed through the selection of glasses and was displeased at the fact that not one pair was under $100. I then went on to ask the employee where the 2 for $59.95 special was located. She took me to a wall of about 10 pairs of glasses which were all childish looking and neon. There was another "sale" going on that was buy one get one free. I was very upset to find out that I was being scammed and now trapped because I wasn't leaving the office without having to pay a minimum of $95. I then found 2 pairs of glasses which one was $109 and the other to be free. I began to check out and was shocked when the lady told me my total. $242... I left very angered, troubled, and upset. I 0/10 recommend this place. If you or anybody is thinking of going to Stanton Optical, DON'T. I repeat, DON'T! 0/10 recommend. WARNING !! Gave them a 1 because ZERO wasn't an option. This place is awful. Says FREE EYE EXAM right on the window. At first they seem fine, until you have a question or an issue. Went through 2 months of hell with them and paid to see a specialist at their request. I asked for a refund so I could go elsewhere but they held me and almost 200.00 hostage until they bullied me into contacts that weren't right for me. All I wanted to do was get a different brand of contacts due to issues with the current brand tearing in my eye. I was told by the sales guy, I must be doing something wrong. The new dr had no confidence and I felt bullied by the old one. The manager said she'd make it right and was gone the next day. Left, no liger works there. This place goes through managers like crazy and I can see why. When I finally got my contacts ( they never called to tell me they were in) I still didn't feel like they were right but was warned and reminded once they order them that's it. My exam was in March, I'm sure the "chemical burn" I had was caused by the solution the new , way more expensive, brand of contacts came in but was again bullied by the dr and told it wasn't possible. Went in today because I need to reorder contacts , made an appointment because I wanted to make sure my prescription didn't change because these aren't working and they wanted to charge me 89.00. FFS! I was just there. Again, says free eye exam on the building. I'm gonna buy contacts. Total crap when you get bullied by someone into ordering contacts that don't correct your vision and they don't want to fix the problem. Front desk lady talked to the manager to see if there was anything they could do. Manager said they are "well aware of my issue "but said I should go to an ophthalmologist. Basically, felt like GTFO and go see a real doctor. That's exactly what I'm doing. They lost my business, my family's business and I'm telling everybody I know to never go to Stanton Optical! read more

very rude people that work there! me and my sister and brother in law all went there to get new glasses and eye exams and first off: the girl at the front desk lied to me that they take my insurance and would need to pay anything upfront and i ended up being out of network and had to pay 35.00. then my sisters glasses broke in three days after getting them the screws on the glasses fell out and broke! then my brother in law glasses were too strong made his eyes hurt!!! awfull place!!! would not recommend to my worst enemy!!! read more

Online appointments don't recognize appts made in store so they double book. After waiting for quite sometime I was told that they couldn't see me for contacts only glasses even though I told them when I first checked in I only needed contacts. LOTS of exceptions to the FREE exam claim. read more

This place is a TOTAL waste of time. I went three times, got three different prescriptions, and each was being wrong. I ended up going to a different eye doctor, since Stanton's optometrists are apparently incompetent. On my initial exam, the doctor was on a computer screen, which was never disclosed to me until I was in the room. That was the first surprise. After the exam, I went to look at frames and came to find out that they are horrendously overpriced. After choosing to take my prescription elsewhere, the glasses I got back were the wrong prescription. I went back to Stanton, explained, and got another eye exam done, with the same end result. After the third time, I ended up having to pay full price for the glasses since they had to be redone so many times. When I went to Stanton to explain and see if I could get a refund, I was told, and I quote, "You know, you are really the one that makes your exam while you are in with the doctor." I, for one, know that I am not a doctor, so then how is it my fault? Stanton takes zero responsibility for their screw-ups. Their customer service is terrible. When you call the 979 number, which theoretically is a College Station number, it goes to a call center. When you go in to speak with someone, they are all very rude and judgmental. If anyone is ever thinking about going there, DON'T. It is a complete waste of your time and hard-earned money. Please, please go somewhere else! read more
