I seem to have to switch eye places every year to get decent customer service. I did not even know this spot existed and happened upon it doing a Google search. I was impressed with their location, hours and availability. I was able to get in the day after looking them up which was perfect. The person helping me was phenomenal - so real, open and honest. I wear contacts a lot at times and I wear glasses a lot at times. My eyes are sensitive. I see perfect for close/reading but am practically blind at distance. I've worn the same contacts (Fresh Look color blend grey) for THIRTY YEARS so I am a bit attached till just now when they stopped making them. I have had several glasses places trying to make money and switch me to another contact lense. It has been a thing... This person listened, recommending a lense that is another monthly, cheaper than the Fresh Looks and ordered some samples for me to try out because my eyes are sensitive and I do not want to commit to buying boxes for a lense I hate. I also was able to get samples of some of the colors so I can try those at home instead of that pressure, CHOSE NOW like most places. She was amazing for the exam and also helping me chose glasses so that in the end it was $300 for my exam and glasses which are a super thin glasses - I need that since I have an EPIC prescription so I have gotten glasses before I genuinely can't wear because they hurt my sinuses due to the weight of them!! These glasses are so cute and comfortable to wear. I also can get a MAJOR discount for another pair that they will give me for a bit of time so I plan to do that for sure when I get some more free monies! They do take vision insurance too! I went in to do my pickup and genuinely all the people I have encountered here not only want to help you but when you tell them what you want, they genuinely listen. That is so uncommon these days so I appreciate businesses that have staff that care and want to help you. read more

They explained many choices to me and were upfront about the costs. Other Optical companies that I tried were very high pressure and dishonest about price. I received an eye exam and purchased two pairs of glasses. And when I receive them, the prescription for from my eye exam was wrong and my glasses kept giving me headaches. They need to improve on their eye exams and not have people who don't know what they're doing give the eye exam exams. Well, it said the people who worked there are very nice and helpful. By far the worst customer service ever for an optometrist. Don't expect glasses or contacts to be ready in the 7-10 days. Don't expect store staff to know or even care about why there is a delay. The remote "doctor" the did the exam was very impatient, hard to understand and then wrote a completely incorrect prescription. Then, since they did not have the correct contacts in stock, they switched it to ones they did have, making it even worse. I had to go to another eye clinic to get an exam, which was the correct one. Since Stanton had used my insurance credit, I had to pay out of pocket. Never again. read more

I paid 700 dollars for glasses for my son and I, first it took 2 months to receive them then they were wrong on top of that I had to remind them of the buy 1 get one free. Then the prescriptions were wrong on all pairs we had to be retested then they took an additional 6 weeks and guess what they were wrong again and I spoke with the manager and I asked for a refund he told me he would need the glasses back ( even though they will be thrown away) NEVER EVER WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY THEY ARE A FUCKING RIPOFF!!! read more

I had my own prescription from my ophthalmologist. Stanton promotes their more affordable frames, but not a single one of the pairs on the affordable rack fit my face. They all were so big if I moved my head they fell off. I could not buy any of the most affordable pairs, my only choices were the more expensive options. Hard to believe this isn't an intentional strategy. I was ordering several pairs for everyday use, reading, driving, dark glasses. I selected the frames and handed over my prescription. After two weeks I got a text saying they were ready for pick up. I went in, one pair had not actually come in yet, the others were too blurry to use, they had to redo all of them. two more weeks without my glasses, then I got a text saying they were ready, and I drove back to the store, only to learn that only one of the pair that had to be redone had actually arrived back at the store. I picked them up, and waited two more weeks without my glasses for my new pairs finally to be ready. I hoped this would be my new frame shop, but the search continues. read more

If possible to rate lower than 1-star, I would. Definitely not worth going for any money saved, if there even was money saved! 1) appointment(s) - as others mentioned, the exam was done over a tv screen/computer. 2) staff - I'm sure very kind people, but sorely lacking in knowledge and clearly just hired to push as many people through as quickly as possible. Also, in the few months I've dealt with this office, they've had 100% turnover multiple times and the staff verbally told us how bad Stanton Optical is to work for. 3) phone service - can't get through to an individual office. The local phone number routes to a customer service operator somewhere else in the world. The only time they'll connect you with your local office is if it is something extremely easy for them to handle and not if you're having any trouble. 4) The prescriptions for both myself and my adult daughter were almost useless... we both see worse now than with our old prescriptions. We went back a few times to get it fixed, but it never improved and we frankly don't have the time to keep going in over and over for the same thing, especially considering it seems if they get it better it will just be pure luck since they haven't gotten them right yet after repeated tries. 5) When I asked for our prescriptions to take elsewhere to fill, they changed the brand to an unusual and more expensive brand so when we went elsewhere to fill it, they were unable to fill the prescription with anything but the wrong type. It is very obvious they only want them filled at their office and they'll make it as difficult as possible to go elsewhere. 6) I tried calling to fix the prescription and customer service was (again) completely useless. They wouldn't connect me with the local office and said I'd have to take time out of my day to again go over to talk to someone. I haven't had the time to get over there AGAIN, so still living with no contacts and bad vision. (Note: they also will not give you your prescription in any form other than in-person so yet another visit! This place is a joke and when speaking to reputable optical stores, it was obvious this is a well-known fact in the industry. Save yourself the frustration, time, expense, etc and go ANYWHERE else!! Serious waste of time. Made appointments for both my husband and myself. My puppy ate my glasses last night so I made an appointment for a contact exam so I would have a solution to my problem right away. Showed up 15 minutes early so we'd have time to fill out necessary paperwork and we were still waiting at least 30 minutes past our scheduled times. That was strike one. Did the virtual exam eventually and we were told to wait so the doctor could sign off on the prescription. We were shown to the glasses and instructed to pick out frames. First the representative came out and said the doctor would not sign off on my prescription due to having LASIK in the past and they would not be able to help me. I was furious and the representative offered a half assed apology and just walked away. That was strike two. Then they preceded to get my husband all quoted on the glasses he had picked out and insurance information was given and the representative went to check on the status of my husband's prescription being signed off on. Eventually he came back and said that the doctor wouldn't sign off on his prescription either, no explanation given. Again half assed apology and I said 'so you just wasted two hours of our time' he just looked at me and said 'ya, sorry about that. I did call our district manager about it. You can come back when we have a doctor in the office probably around the end of the month.' Seriously?!? What good is that to me. Strike three. I was so done and just walked out. I would never recommend someone go here. Serious customer service issues. I told them from the beginning that I had LASIK in the past... if that was going to be an issue then they should have told me right then that they wouldn't help me. Complete and utter disregard of respecting a customers time and needs. If they would have told me sooner I would have had time to go somewhere else or make other arrangements. Eye exam. After they quit fumbling around figuring out what paperwork I needed to complete - oh wait, it's not just paperwork but an ipad interview also - you learn the fun part. The exam is done via Zoom - no doctor in the room. And apparently the whole thing is going to be filmed and recorded - and you have to sign a release giving them the right to use both for "any lawful purpose". Now, I'm not a HIPAA lawyer but that sounds pretty wide open to me. The woman who was going to be in the room with me said "nobody's ever sued us". As if that was something that would be shared in a company-wide memo. I didn't know how to respond. If you're wondering, I didn't get a filmed and recorded exam by doctor Zoom. The whole filming thing would have been nice to know when the very-distant customer service rep was scheduling, and before I wasted time driving across town for the appointment. Don't want your doctor present for the exam? Want your exam filmed and recorded? Stanton's for you. read more

Boy did I have an experience here I would recommend never going here they have they took me in the back into the room and the doctor was on a screen no person was in the room they gave me the wrong prescription and they said their doctor was only there one time a month they couldn't fit me in to check my prescription and then I asked him for a refund they wouldn't give me my money back. Thank God I was able to call their number from Google because that number doesn't even go to the store, it goes to a customer service line. They want to charge me for a prescription that I can't even take with me nowhere because it's incorrect. I don't want to step foot in that at office ever again read more

From a review I made on 10/25/2017. Not sure if they have changed since then, but I went here right as they opened and these were my thoughts. The staff here is just so pleasant and helpful. I don't have much expierience with getting glasses but I was amazed how well done the exam was, how nice the location is, how fast my glasses were made (in 30 minutes!), and the length the workers went to make sure i was satisfied. I don't know if it's this location or the chain but I would avoid Stanton. Before I talk about this experience I should say that I bought glasses 2 years ago at another Stanton and had a good experience. On the back of that I brought my Mom to this location (as it was nearby) to have a very different time. They advertise 2 pairs of glasses and an eye exam for $59.95. I don't know who they offer this to but it wasn't us. After going through the eye exam and selecting frames the experience became like buying a used car. It was explained that we needed cheap glasses because my Mom was about to go in for cataract surgery and needed something for a few months as her current glasses had become damaged. They started at almost $500 for 2 pair. After about 40 minutes of back and forward negotiation, calling the manager (again just like buying a used car) the price was reduced to $200. 50% down and 50% on delivery. Oh that glasses ready in 15 minutes - that didn't happen either. We left the store and about 2 weeks later we start getting call after call from their robo caller. "One pair is ready the other is not" says this electronic voice over and over. Great - but what about the other one. We are now at about 2 weeks after the glasses were ordered. I tried to call the store and no one answers the phone. Finally about a week later I had some time and a speakerphone so I decided to just wait. After about 45 minutes my call was transferred to the "corporate office". The phone rep was professional and courteous but said he didn't know why we were not called on the second pair which was also ready. It had been for a few days. We are now at almost a month since the glasses were ordered. We went in to the store to get our glasses. We were again made to wait almost an hour because we needed to talk to the manager "Sunny" since there was an issue. When he finally became available he got the glasses and unboxed them. They were all screwed up. Items correct: 1) The frames my mom selected were the right ones. Items wrong: 1) The prescription was wrong on both pair. In fact my Mom's $1 store glasses worked better for her than these. 2) The initial eye exam turned out to be wrong. 3) The tent on the distance glasses wasn't what was selected. It looked like something out of a B movie and was the wrong color. 4) The material wasn't what was originally selected. We decided that it would be best to forget the ordeal and order glasses after the cataract surgery as it's now about 6 weeks away and after some back and forward opted for a refund which they did provide. We wasted almost 6 weeks in total including 2 Saturday mornings and several collective hours on the phone. Some items for improvement: 1) Do the eye exam correctly and not at a remote location. 2) Fill the prescription correctly. 3) If someone calls ANSWER THE PHONE!!! 4) If someone stops in meet with them without making them wait hours. This place is a waste of time and money. I wish I could say you get what you pay for and they are cheap - but you don't even get that here. read more

Bait and switch! I have not met anyone who actually received the 2 glasses and eye exam for $59. My daughter had eye exam done and received 2 glasses $200.+ 1. this exam is Done by someone in India by FaceTime. 2. No one get 2X for $59. 3. This exam was missing something, so I took my daughter to Kaiser for a REAL exam. Just as I thought the 2 exams are completely different. I'm saying this exam from Stanton was very different from the real one done by a real Doctor. Done 2 weeks apart. Buyer beware this isn't a deal. This shouldn't be legal. I was able to get a same day appointment and didn't have to wait at all for my exam. They had a nice selection of eyewear and I found the service to be quite good! First off, I'm a contacts girl. Recently I ran out. I'm a broke cosmetology student so I have been sporting my low-key dorky glasses reluctantly. Then yesterday I accidentally sat on them and broke them! Yikes... My Mom recommended Stanton to me because she saw the 2 for $59.95 deal. Today the staff at Stanton took such great care of me, I was able to leave with a new pair (including a free eye exam) that day!!! Ellie, Taylor, and Juan took amazing care of me. Broke my glasses, ordered two new pairs from from another store. Old glasses driving me nuts. Calling around to see if I can get a pair made on 1 day. Called this place, explained my situation. All I got from from this phone call was a headache. The person on the other end of the line kept trying to get me an appointment to get a new eye exam. I explained to him several times that I just had a recent exam and a prescription and I just needed a new pair of glasses while I waited for my other pairs to show up, ie SAME DAY SERVICE. All I got was the run around. Finally I had to stop him from his slimy sales spiel and asked him to stop blathering and just for once to answer my question. COULD THEY MAKE GLASSES THE SAME DAY???? Finally, the answer was "no". And then he kept talking, trying to again sell me an appointment. Exasperated, I just hung up. If they're trying this hard to sell you things over the phone, I can't imagine what they'd be like when you show up at their store in person. read more

Pros: customer service was kind and helpful, but not the most efficient. If you do have an issue they will try their best to help you out. I received a refund for the contact lenses I did not end up using. Cons: incorrect contact prescription given twice, left me with blurry contacts, which I ultimately returned. read more

The customer service on the phone lacks that personal attention the you get from the in store staff. I was put on hold for a extended amount of time and then they hung up on me. I never made an appointment, but when I called to ask some questions the guy on the other line seemed very persistent in getting me to make an appointment and was not interested in any of my questions. He reminded me of a car dealer or the kurby vacuum door to door salesmen. I really don't feel comfortable going to a place like that, seems like they want my money more than they want to give me great service. I really wanted to like this place... the only reason why it's getting two stars is because of the service of the staff. My only pair of glasses broke and I had run out of contacts. It had been just enough time that I needed to get a new prescription anyways. I just had moved to the area so I wasn't sure where to go. I called around to multiple places to get in right away and everyone was a week out. I literally couldn't see so I was terrified that I had to wait over a week to be able to see again. I finally called Stanton Optical and they could literally get me in right away!! I rushed there literally in 15 mins so that was fantastic. The guy on the phone was wonderful and nice. I was so dang stoked to be able to get in so quickly knowing I'm gonna be leaving with a pair of contacts. The whole process was extremely easy and quick. The lady at the front was nice enough. Plenty of sanitizer and everyone was wearing masks. It seemed very clean and organized. I felt safe. The coolest part was the virtual appointment with the doctor. He controlled the machines from somewhere else while we communicated over video. That was pretty cool. However, I'm super frustrated with my prescription. I bought 6 months worth of contacts without knowing my prescription was so off. Before this appointment, I had -3.50 contacts. I left there with -2.75 contacts and everything was blurry to the point I couldn't read street signs until I was right up on them. Thank goodness I didn't buy glasses from them. I just thought maybe my vision got better since I did just have a kid and I've heard that Women's vision has gotten better/worse with pregnancy. But boy I was so wrong. I'm extremely frustrated that my prescription was so off and now I have 6 months worth of contacts (over $200 worth) that don't even give me good enough vision to drive safely. And on top of that, they didn't email me my prescription until a week later (I buy glasses online and couldn't buy any until they sent it to me) even though the guy said it will be emailed to me within 24 hours. And it wasn't even my full prescription. It didn't have my axis or cylinder only the sphere. So they didn't even give me my full prescription. So in all, I paid $318 for contacts and the appointment to get a new prescription that wasn't even right. I don't even know how to complain about it since I bought all these contacts and don't think I could get anything back or refunded. But I wanted to make sure others know. Make sure your prescription is correct before paying or leaving. I still can't believe how off mine was. read more

I took my son to Stanton Optical for an eye exam and to purchase glasses. To our surprise, the exam is not done by a doctor, rather by store employees. A doctor okays the results of the exam by ZOOM. After picking out some frames, we could not get any help purchasing them. We then asked for a copy of the optical exam. We were told it was not available and it would be mailed to us later in the day. That evening we received a call from Stanton to verify our email address and we were told that we would receive the optical exam results in 5 minutes by email; we never received it. I called the next day only to be told they didn't know what I was talking about. We still have not received a copy of the exam. read more

Even during these alarming times, I received the best and most speedy customer service from Jennifer Sciborsla. She's so sweet! She's helped me in the past at the Clackamas store, I was excited to see her again at a different location. If you need glasses, contacts or an eye exam during this time, Stanton is taking some appointments. They make it quick and easy for you. All their equipment and all surfaces are regularly sanitized and even more so right now. read more

Unfortunately there was a snafu. I gave them the wrong Rx -- computer vs distance. When i discovered the issue they offered to remake them (same day) at no charge since they did not catch it. Wow. What an experience this was! Called to set an apt 2:20pm for 4:30 pm, arrived at 4:20 to get told "I'm sorry we aren't doing any apts today because our systems are down. We told the man we had just set the apt and he said "I find that hard to believe" - so now I'm offended, and show him the confirmation email. He brushed that off as "well maybe the call center set it but we didn't". Real nice Stanton Optical..I drove 30 mins each way to keep an apt you set and then got treated rudely for it. Called another location and their systems were down too. Odd...do they rely on the internet to do exams? As for the call center...9 min hold time, and two different people that speak English as a second language came on the line. Sorry Stanton, you have wasted my time, cost me money and I don't like you. Won't be back. read more

My eye exam was done via what appeared to be a call center for optometrist. They can't give you a status on any order unless they transfer you. It's cheap to go here but the cost cutting is so obvious and seems so out of touch. Unfortunately I believe this will be the future of optometry. read more
