Terrible company. I went in to get glasses and a contact prescription and when I called to see if my glasses were ready they said yes. I went there and they said not only were they not there but they had no record of it and no prescription or glasses ordered. So had to go back there again for another appointment and then back AGAIN to pick up my glasses. Fast forward a couple months, I call trying to get my prescription and i wait on hold for 20 minutes and then they hang up on me! I call back again and wait on hold for over 40 minutes. I got the prescription sent but with no info on what kind of contacts to get so I call AGAIN and am on hold for another 30 minutes and they tell me they cant find my information. I asked to be routed to the store and not the call center and they put me on hold again. I'm still on hold as I write this review. Will never go back to this place!! Nightmare read more

I'm reducing my original rating from 2 to 1 star. After finally getting through to someone who could actually answer my questions I found out that my frames had some paint chipping off and they put in for a warranty. Unfortunately it doesn't seem like they can get another pair as I've had no update after two months. They gave me the bad frame because I can't just sit around for months without glasses, but at this point it feels like I paid full price for damaged goods and they have no idea if I'll ever get new ones. I get different answers depending on who picks up the phone and it feels like they're just making stuff up to get me off the line. I won't be coming back here. read more

Stanton actually got the prescription wrong! Asked for refund, was offered $14 back. What a JOKE. 5 trips over there and they want to give me less than 1/4 of a refund. I loved this trip with my grandma because this team was super on it and verrrry patient with her (she can be grumpy). One team member in particular, forget his name but had a mustache, was so nice and even made a few trips back and forth for lenses. Again, she's needy. We didn't wait for long and made a same day appointment without any issues. Seems they roll it all into one place here so you aren't running around town trying to find an optometrist, then the right retail space, then all the extras. I just wanted to rave a little about them because of how on fire their staff is and how pleased nan' was with her glasses later on. "NO MORE HEADACHES" she keeps saying. Thankfully :) read more

This review is long overdue. I just haven't taken the time to sit and write. First of all., the service from the store manager was truly very good. She was friendly and very helpful. We reviewed what my insurance would and would not cover. I then madd an appointment with the doctor for my eye exam. Maybe I caught him on a bad day. Maybe he really needed the vacation he was about to go on. But ... his bedside manner was truly rude I felt like he was annoyed by my presence. He was short , and condescending. I feel he did NOT get my exam right. The glasses I have are not right. My prescription is definitely not right. I wear progressive lenses. They are much more expensive than regular lenses so the "special" price doesn't work for me. I picked out frames , I had good help with that and the frames I picked out were actually a very good price. They have so many good frames to pick from. I called and asked for the manager. She wasn't in. I explained my problem and I was told she'd call me back to address the situation. Unfortunately, I NEVER got a return call. I now need to go somewhere else and get my exam redone. They also were reluctant to give me my prescription.. when they did .. it's not the real thing. I compared it to my other one and it's nothing like it. So I cannot order glasses online from any other vendor like Zenni .. etc.. I do not recommend this place to anyone. Horrible! If u want quality...go elsewhere!! 1. Came in from Vancouver to pick up my work chair..decided to go to Stanton in Beaverton to multi task. Asked if I could have my glasses sent to the Vancouver store as I work from home and its about an hour drive. No. Which is odd because I checked earlier and was told of course. 2. Two weeks! No call or email. Glasses ready per site...still no contacts. Insurance paid 800 i paid 300. 3. Spent 2 Hours on hold trying to get ahold of someone in store to see if they could mail me the glasses. Got their CSR line even though i pressed in store. 4. Tried 3 other numbers for in store location no answer. Extra 30 min on that. 5. Speak w CSR she says she will send a mesg to the store and email to me. This may take 3 days!!!6.Ask to speak w supervisor..as now CSR states I will have to pay EXTRA to have my glasses sent to me in the mail!!!. Supervisor will contact in 15 to 20 min....THAT WAS AN HOUR AGO AND STILL NO CALL OR EMAIL. In the meantime...i cant see. I have gone to Americas Best...AWESOME! What a great eye care experience! Stanton utilizes tele-medicine for your diffraction eye exam (to get a prescription) and then follows that up with excellent in store service to find your perfect pair of glasses or contacts. Can't say enough great things about the staff there, will definitely be back in one-year for my next annual eye exam. read more

A complete debacle. My old glasses broke at the nose piece, so I went to Stanton because they appeared to be fast and relatively inexpensive. The eye exam went fine. But I need progressive lenses and needed something to tide me over until the new glasses could be ready. I asked the sales woman if they could find frames to fit my old lenses. At first she said that was impossible and then, only after I insisted, made a half hearted effort for less than 5 minutes before telling me that they had nothing that fit. As a result, I had no choice but to buy an inexpensive frame in which they could put single vision lenses, as those could be done while I waited and I needed something so I could at least drive. I was unable to work with the single vision lenses, so I went to a different optical shop, Visionworks, in Beaverton, where they scoured the entire store until they found a frame that fit my old lenses. Strike one for Stanton. As for my new glasses, I was told that I would get a call when they were ready and it would take no more than 2 weeks. I never got a call, and after 2-1/2 weeks, I tried to call to find out the status. It took 3 phone calls before I could actually talk to someone in the store, who told me that the glasses were in and that I had not received a call because they were having problems with their automated system. Strike 2. I went to go pick up my new glasses today, and they were the wrong frame. Instead of the nice, relatively expensive frame I had selected, they put the new lenses in the same cheap frame I had purchased for the ineffectual single vision glasses. That was strike 3. Ridiculous incompetence. I originally gave a second star only because the sales woman (Ellie) who discovered with me that, after 2-1/2 weeks, they had used the wrong frame, was very gracious and helpful, refunding my money and letting me keep the glasses that had been made incorrectly. However, being nice does not compensate for the failure to provide the service and the product they purport to offer. P. S. I have now taken my review down to one stars, and I would give zero or negative stars if I could. Yesterday, when I got my refund, I specifically asked and was assured that no insurance claim hasd yet been submitted, so I should have no problems getting insurance benefits for another pair of glasses at another store. So I took time on a Sunday afternoon to go to a different store to replace the glasses that broke almost 3 weeks ago now, only to learn that I could not get insurance benefits because the claim had not yet been withdrawn. Then, just to rub salt in the wound, I try to email Ellie at the email address she had given me so I could contact her directly if I had any further problems. But when I tried to send an email after the latest debacle, I got a message back that it was rejected by the server. I don't know if this is a malevolence or incompetence, but at the end of the day, it does not matter. I have been greatly hassled and inconvenienced in a way that is completely unacceptable. read more

This place is garbage. It's been TWO MONTHS and I still have not received my glasses. When I call the order status hotline, I am informed nothing was ordered. When I call the store they assure me the order was placed and ask me to wait 6 business days. Stores are now closed and the main customer service number advises they will not give me my money back unless I write a letter. DO NOT GO HERE. I already emailed twice. Inept response received asking for my full name when it's already in my email address. Also advising they will ship the glasses to me when I specifically asked in my email for a refund. Made an appointment with Stanton thinking since they are big, the selection must be great and probably easy to get an appointment. I made an appointment for 2:05 and at 2:55 I still hadn't seen the doctor so I walked out. But that's not all: There is absolutely no social distancing enforcement. People were sitting right next to each each other, all crammed in what reminded me of what looked like a dressing room at Ross... Also, no COVID-19 safety precautions. No temperatures taken, no health questionnaire, they were seeing patient after patient without sanitizing the exam room (I know this because they didn't close the exam room door), they had some lady trying out her contacts just right out in the open without a place to wash hands, and no one wore gloves. The doctor wasn't even washing his hands between people. I may not have gotten new contacts, but hey, I might have walked out with Corona. read more

Today will be 3 weeks since ordering my glasses. Two pair. I was so excited, picked out two of the cutest frames. I called a week and a half after the purchase, talked to Edward. He knew there was a problem and said he was all over it. I felt pretty confident. I haven't heard from him again. Every day I call, there's no answer. It's Wednesday and their website for the Scholls Ferry, (where I purchased them, in case that's not clear), is closed. But says it will open tomorrow. There's no answer at the corporate office. It has been 25 days now. I have received mulltiple automated calls that my glasses are ready. Sometimes it says 2 out of 3 are ready,others 3 out of 4. I ordered 2. I have learned to ignore the automated calls. Yesterday I called to see what's going on. I was supposed to have them in a week. Now they don't even know where my glasses are or what's going on. They said they would look into it and call back in a half hour. That was yesterday morning and I never received a phone call. It has been almost a month and all I have is 550 dollars less in my bank account, wasted time,and poor vision. I'm a pretty laid back person but I am now livid! Unbelievable. read more

This was the oddest experience I have ever had for an eye exam. Since I don't have vision insurance I decided to go with a low cost chain store. My first clue should have been that they use a call center (India?) to handle their phones and it is over the top scripted when talking to them. Next clue was that they were wide open for exams appointments. I go in and fill out the online paperwork and have two pretests done. One was the glaucoma puff test and was never told what the other one was for. After that they suggested I look at frames while we waited for the doctor. I'm called back in and the doctor is on a video screen!!! From some other country! It was the most bizarre thing ever and obviously limited what the rest of the exam entailed. I almost walked out at that point because it was obvious that this could not be a comprehensive exam which I told it would be. I wish I had. The exam is $45 but really is just the minimum required if they are to sell you glasses. Not the place to go if you are concerned about your eye health. If you just want cheap glasses and that's your only goal it will probably work. If you are concerned about being checked for things like cataracts, allergies, macular degeneration, retinopathy, etc you may want to go elsewhere where there is a physical doctor. If they were upfront about their business model and mode of practice even after I got there, it would have gone a long way. read more

I traveled up from the Bay Area to spend the holidays with my family and had an unfortunate incident with my luggage. I ended up with no glasses and no contact lenses for two weeks. I looked all over for same day appointments and was amazed to find Stanton! They had openings on their website so I booked the 5:30 slot since I was traveling from our past Stayton so it was going to be over and hour drive so I had to book with enough time to make it there. I talked my partner into giving up her Saturday evening to drive me up. We were almost there when I received a call from Stanton that they would not honor my reservation since it might take more than 30 min and they closed at 6. Had their website mentioned this or had blocked off the later slots I would have scheduled it earlier, instead we had to drive all of way back and waste time and gas. Thanks for nothing Stanton, you'd get zero stars if it were an option. read more

Appointment was at 2:45 and did not get seen until closer to 4. I didn't leave that place with my glasses until almost 6. I understand the needing to make my glasses but when my appointment was scheduled at 2:45 and they are over an hour late getting me seen. That is unacceptable. Not to mention finding out later that I could have just taken my prescription and went online and gotten my glasses much cheaper anywhere else. This is very frustrating. My first visit was rated 1 Star, under-staffed and took far too long. I was back for my follow-up and the Store Owner actually wanted to know what happened at my first visit and apologized and wanted to know how he could make it up to me. He is fully staffed now and the follow-up appointment with the Optometrist to make sure my trial contact lens fit correctly ended up re-fitting me with a different contact lens. I have another follow-up this Saturday and so far love the new trial pair. I was impressed that the Store Owner wanted to make sure he addressed all of the issues I had with the first visit. Came in from Warrenton Oregon about 1 1/2 hrs away. Has lost my glasses and had my copy to get a replacement pair. Worst business ever. They rotate through managers like dirty underwear each being worst than the one before. They can mess up your order EVERY time and not even apologize or try to right their wrong. My son has been wearing glasses (two different pairs made by them) the past year and we learned at the eye doctor this week both right lenses are rotated 90° from what they're supposed to be. When I told this to the sales manager Edward he replied "hm." Then proceeded to try to charge me $19.88 for replacement frames that broke. He REFUSED to cover the $19.88 frames or new lenses at their expense. I will never give them another penny after I've spent thousands of dollars over the past 7 years only because they do bogo and we pay out of pocket. They have messed up our glasses in every way possible over the years and I'm finally done. Edward is the worst thing that could happen to that business as previous employees were at least willing to apologize and help resolve the issue. I had to go back because my glasses weren't correct. I can't say enough about Adam the manager. He was absolutely amazing. He fixed the prescription. He upgraded my glasses. He took very good care of me, even while being short-staffed (I imagine someone called out sick). My wife went to the other eye place-the one with the owl-and she regrets not going to Stanton with me. I work in customer service. I know good customer service well. I am never mean to folks who work with the public however, I do take note when someone is exceptional. Adam was exceptional. Some of the best customer service I've seen in a long time.
