First time coming here three days ago, and I will be a repeated offender. First the ambiance of the restaurant was quiet and cozy, with a little fire place and cozy vibes on the tv and relaxing music. We quickly were seated and tended too. The lady at the front was so sweet, we came in thirsty and she didn't miss a beat with water refills. I wouldn't say I am a pho connoisseur. However, I am very picky when it comes to broth, it will make it or break it for me and their broth SO flavorful. All I could say was "wow" is it's every bite, so amazing. I got the ***** spicy noodle soup with chicken. Don't hesitate if you're looking for a good pho/thai spot, this place was worth the trip into town. We had completely forgotten how much we love this place! The veggies were cooked so nicely, they still had a good texture. I find many restaurants tend to make veggies a bit overcooked. They can make many things in their menu vegan which is supper accommodating for everyone! I loved that she knew exactly what we meant when we asked questions about if the curry could be made vegan. (Sadly it can't but many other things can!) We got the tofu lettuce wraps, green beens, and Phad see ew with tofu! It was all wonderful! Take out Pho is a joke. Pinch of bean sprouts a little cilantro, 3 pieces of meat and no basil.

I went here with two friends and was served crab rangoons that were ICE COLD in the middle--so cold they had ice crystals. I sent them back, only to be given another batch of cold rangoons. The server insisted they couldn't be frozen because the cream cheese comes from the fridge... but whether it was frozen or just fridge-cold, they still were not warm. After the second round, she basically told me that's just how they're made. Not sure what's worse--the cold food or the attempt to justify it. She did not apologize a single time and basically said I was wrong and she couldn't do anything about it, because if she cooked it for longer it would burn the outside. Apparently she's never heard of reducing the heat. I also ordered orange chicken and a Thai iced tea which was pretty good but this experience was disappointing to say the least. read more

We try to come in once a week, we love that they serve and check up on us. It's a hole in the wall but my husband and I LOVE coming here. The pho is amazing, lots of veggies (no jalapeño if it's not in season) their green curry is delicious, there lettuce wraps are great too. Good beer on tap, yummy Thai tea, they don't mind if you need an extra scoop of rice:) they've always treated us well and expect to come back weekly. THE best Thai food in the North Sound. We popped by after a long ride and I wish I had stopped by sooner. This restaurant has amazing food and tons of gluten free options. Used to be a pretty decent option when it was only one of two in stanwood. The ambiance was never great but now the service and food have really gone downhill. Anytime we were going to Stanwood , we used to go to this restaurant because of their service and food but recently there is a lady who works there and she is very rude and impolite , she wants to fight on everything and she doesn't know how to talk to customer ,she is very cranky, we are not going there anymore and I don't recommend anyone to go there . read more

Our order and thoughts: Pad Thai x 2: harsh tamarind taste Thai Angel: the curry taste is insanely overwhelming. Was really looking forward to the coconut milk; however there was no trace and the whole dish was dry, the meat was overdone. Mongolian Beef: if you are used to a dark sauce and breaded beef this is far from it. Very bland- no sodium. Meat over cooked. Pad Woon Sen: so gross. No taste. Pork was unchewable. Egg rolls: they were great! Stingy with the dipping sauce though. We won't ever be going back. read more

I reserve my five stars for meals that are all-around fantastic and this Thai joint absolutely was. We had pad see ew with tofu and chicken and the spice level was spot on. Quite often you find that restaurants "water down" their heat for the American palate but these folks do not mess around. The spice and flavor are on point. We live in Seattle and have eaten from countless Thai restaurants and Stanwood Thai would rank with any of the best. They had a large restaurant that looked nice and comfortable and someday we'll be able to sit inside and watch the Stanwood traffic go by. This place is serving up very low quality, a bit less than mediocre Thai food. I ordered prawn tempura, Panang curry, & Pad Kee Mao. Everything was mushy and terribly over-sugared. The veggies in the noodle dish were overcooked. The curry only had tofu, bamboo shoots, and onions even though it was supposed to have other veggies-- and the sauce was super thin like it was watered down. Five stars today since it was a very good visit on a rainy afternoon. We decided getting Pho was our mission before going. Once there we were greeted by a very friendly and attentive server. I wish I had gotten her name. She was very nice and we had some laughs with her. The Pho was excellent as usual. The accompanying sauces and vegetables etc equally so. All very flavorful and fresh. We decided to try their appetizer sampler and it came with two chicken satay, two spring rolls, two crab rangoon, an egg roll cut in half, and two savory dumplings. Those dumplings were the stars of the plate. There were also four different sauces which the waitress told us what they go with. Very good stuff as you might imagine. We took most of it home since my large Pho was about all I could handle. My kid had chicken pad Thai which is her go to. I was just glad to have her there although she bailed early due to her work schedule. They grow up fast. I haven't strayed away from the Pho but have seen some pretty nice dishes come out of the kitchen. I'll be going in for the soup since I don't see how it translates to a takeout order but I may get something else to take home. read more

Well now if your waitress smells like a hooker just walking past you and she is going to touch your plate you know your going to taste that cheap Walmart knock off crap. But if your allergic reaction kicks off to the point that you're fleeing to your car for an epi pen you know she bathed in that shit. Your next stop is a migraine and meds just to make sure you can breathe properly. Thank goodness we keep an emergency kit in our rigs. You know that perfumes and hand lotions are going to make your customers sick and pissed . Clearly we wanted to eat. We consistently and normally spend about $50-65 food and another $15-20 on a tip at your place . Won't be back until I can make sure my life isn't in danger. It's pretty sad considering the last time we were there the wait staff made sure there were no nuts ( more allergies) in the pad Thai and it was amazing. I was so looking forward to having another amazing meal there yesterday. This was one of the two places in our little Stanwood that I felt like I was not going to be hauling out my emergency kit. I know the fire department is only a minute away but really I was just needing food. No one wants to smell your perfume on their food. Let alone have an anaphylactic reaction . Every once in a while I regret taking a chance & stopping at an unknown restaurant but was traveling & this was it... This place checked out OK on Yelp with 4 stars. WRONG! Probably the worst Thai food I ever had here in U.S. or in Thailand. How can a THAI restaurant get a common Pad Thai so wrong? RICE noodles were way oversauced in what tasted like bland ' out of the jar' tamarind sauce, 2 key components practically missing, bean sprouts & ground peanuts, If the bean sprouts even existed they were flaccid & not crisp enough to show up in the dish. A tiny mouse size pinch of ground peanuts on the side. I paid extra for the shrimp & it was undercooked & pretty tasteless. I could hear the chef loudly laughing & talking with the waitress in the back & he obviously did not have his mind on cooking. I left a tip for the waitress who knew when I shoved the leftovers across the table at her not to ask if I wanted a doggie bag. Regretfully am already having indigestion. read more

However after the last two experiences we likely will be looking for another place as our go to. We always get takeout, and our last order was a joke. We ordered orange chicken (14$) and received maybe half a cup of chicken, pad se ew which was half of what we used to receive, fresh rolls that again were not consistent with what we normally receive, green curry and Tom ka. I will say that their green curry and Tom ka were spot on. However I've had to start requesting different veggies in our Tom Ka because the last two orders we got were basically mushroom and onion only. I've always ordered online, never had an issues and even had my husband pick the order up for me. Recently, my friend offered to pick up for me because I had a baby. The worker at the front desk told her that some man had picked up our orders. She explained that we don't know that person, and that's why she's there to pick up. That worker did not offer a refund or to remake food. My friend had me on the phone to talk to the worker, and I had to explain that we literally don't know that man and I am the person who ordered online, and this is my number. That person was yelling at me, saying that they will remake the food but went on and on about how I should be the one to pick up the food next time and that they will make sure to double check people's identity to pick up the orders. No apologies at all. I mean, they should have double-checked the orders with confirmation orders in email as proof before handing them out a long time ago, and then this wouldn't be an issue. That was a worse customer service ever. They could have handled it differently. Regardless, I thanked them anyway for wanting to make sure this wouldn't happen again in the future. While my friend waited for the food, a man who took our orders came back like 40 minutes later to return them and let the worker know that they gave him the wrong order. It WAS the worker's fault for assuming our names were the same and for not double-checking it. FYI, our names were NOT the same. So the yelling was completely unnecessary, and she FINALLY apologized to my friend for her errors. I've been a loyal customer to their restaurant since they were opened, but ever since they changed owner and constantly changing staffs, it kind of went downhill from there. And now that recent experience my friend and I went through, we won't be going back there again. read more

I don't typically find myself intrigued to go to places that offer mixed cuisines (e.g., pho from a Thai restaurant) but today I was proven wrong! This cute little unassuming restaurant had really everything I was looking for in a pho - richly flavoured beef broth, tender meat and, of course, chilli oil. The mango slush bubble tea was good, and the egg rolls were pretty decent as well - just wish the crust was more flakey like it traditionally is. So relieved to have finally found a place close to home that offers good pho. I'll be back soon! read more

I've only been there once, and I had the pho. The broth was not very flavorful and so it wasn't really a great experience. I never went back because there were so many other options in the food is really good at the other places. It's in the old Viking villagearea in the old bar. This is only the second review I have ever written and it absolutely needs to happen. Ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup to go. I'm not sure what they think they are passing this off as, but it was the single most disgusting bite of soup I have ever had in my entire life. Maybe they were trying to pass this off as egg drop soup, but if so, not what we ordered???? A mess of egg and bits of tofu, and sweeter than a vanilla cake???? This review IS NOT about the food at Stanwood Thai. We decided to try their Thai food as a Valentine's Day treat. This day was right at the end of our snow event when roads were clear, but the evening was cold. We entered and put our name on the waiting list and, within five minutes, were seated at a table for two. It happened to be one of the two tables in the eating area that were against the window. The waitress noticed that I was looking around and stopped to apologize that we have had a long wait after ordering. She explained that they had a lot of to-go orders which made our food late. Then she thought better about what she said and noted that the orders came in before we did. Really, this didn't matter to us. What did matter is that the longer we sat there the colder we became; this is why I was looking around. I was hoping to find a table away from the window and sure enough, I spotted one. Here is where the story takes a bad turn. Our very delightful waitress was not available, but along came another who was taking the remaining few items off the table we wanted to move to. I quickly moved her way and politely asked if we could move there. She said "no." They had a waiting list. I was surprised by her answer but quickly realized that she was clearing a table for four and we were two people seated at a two person table. I get it, I understand that they might need a larger table for more people. Therefore, I immediately sat down, but not before the waitress asked if we had already ordered and I politely said "yes." Then, she said, "well, if you have ordered, you are not allowed to move." All that I could reply was that we were cold and she said she would turn the heat up. I had never encountered this kind of customer service in any previous restaurant during my 74 years of life and became frustrated. The waitress left and went to a couple who had walked in no less than three minutes prior, and escorted them to the table I had requested. I saw the people walk in and they were given preference over people who were already seated and had waited patiently in line and at the table. Summary: We waited on their list, we waited while they filled to-go orders, we were polite, and we were COLD. Then I was frustrated and suggested to my partner that we leave, which we did. Moral to the story, if you choose this place, know that customer service isn't their strength and on a cold night request a table away from a window. read more

This place is AMAZING! My husband and I decided to try this new Thai place for lunch on a Friday afternoon. We are so glad that we did! When we got there there was one other person there, when we left there at least 15 people being served. We are so excited for this new Woman owned and operated business to be part of Stanwood. I am already planning when we will go next as a family. The food was hot and delicious! We were given a bowl of "warm up soup" and Jasmine tea to start. I ordered Thai Iced Tea. My husband had Panang Curry with chicken and I had Green Curry with Prawns. The dish was served with rice and two piping hot spring rolls with sweet chili sauce for dipping. The food was so delicious and felt real and nourishing. The service was wonderful and prompt. We will be back, again and again. They also have a way to text your orders in (pic included) read more

Love that they have a dedicated vegan section of the menu. It's challenging finding good vegan options in the Stanwood/Camano Island area, so I was really excited to discover this place. Ordering online with them is so easy! Food was ready quickly, and they brought it out to our car.
