I spent over $150 and waited more than an hour just to get simple paperwork completed, and the store manager was absolutely useless throughout the entire process. He refused to do the job that was asked of him and kept dumping the responsibility on other employees. He wouldn't even allow a paying customer to use the restroom, which is completely unacceptable. The only person who showed any professionalism was the woman in the back, who went far beyond her duties to help because the manager wouldn't. I went to this Staples location to make a color copy of a driver's license--front and back on the same page. I asked the person who looked like the manager which drawer or tray I should use to copy the back side onto the same sheet. Instead of answering my question, he spoke to me like I had never used a copier before, telling me to "just put the ID on the glass and flip it over." I asked again, trying to clarify how to get both sides on one page, but he just repeated the same thing and walked away. So I followed his instructions: copied the front, flipped the ID, and placed the first copy in the feeder, assuming it would print the back on the same sheet. I ended up paying another 85 cents just to get a duplicate of the front side again. At that point, I was clearly frustrated. Another employee came over and told me it's not possible to make a front-and-back copy of an ID on one sheet using their machines. I asked why no one mentioned that in the first place. His response? "You didn't talk to me." Seriously? This isn't the first bad experience I've had here. A while back I asked for paper maps--the kind they used to have near the entrance--and the staff acted like I was imagining things. This location feels like it's falling apart. There's constant employee turnover, and the focus seems to be more on handling Amazon returns and UPS shipping than helping customers with actual Staples services. He was very unprofessional, he ignores all questions and is very rough. The store had only one shopping cart. He is using this cart to move stuff around. This cart is supposed to help customers . I am very disappointed and concerned regarding the treatment my friend received at this print shop earlier today, 09.09.2025. The level of unprofessionalism and lack of basic human compassion displayed by employees was truly shocking. My friend came in to print a photo of her mother -- who passed away earlier that same day -- for the funeral taking place tomorrow. She was clearly grieving and under emotional stress. After paying for the service, she was told that she had to scan the photo herself and email it to an address provided by the staff. When she explained that she didn't know how to use the self-service printer and kindly asked a young Asian woman working there for help, the employee refused. Then, a tall African American male employee with a beard told her that it's "self-service" and he's "not supposed to help." When she asked him to at least show her how the machine works, he responded by saying, "That's not included in my salary," and even went as far as saying that if she wanted his help, she would have to pay him personally. This kind of behavior is not only unprofessional -- it's inhumane. This man does not run a private business inside Staples. He represents the company and is on payroll. His unwillingness to offer even minimal support in such a sensitive situation is appalling. When my friend asked for their names to file a complaint, he refused, saying he's not required to give his or his colleague's name. She ended up asking for a refund and left the store feeling humiliated and deeply hurt on what was already one of the worst days of her life. I hope Staples takes this complaint seriously. Employees represent the brand and how they treat people -- especially during vulnerable moments -- matters. No one expects the world, but a little compassion and basic customer service should be the minimum. read more

Hello, I visited the Staples on Ocean Avenue and Avenue Y yesterday. I bought printing paper and flush drive, but the cashier charged me for two packs of printing paper instead of one. The name of the cashier was Jorge. The next day in the store I spoke to the staff, they checked on camera and saw, that I bought only one paper and one flash drive. They called same Jorge, that started to confuse me and try to make me pay for two papers. It was so rude and very unprofessional. In this store he is not the only one. I don't know why this store has such a low average star rating, because it's next to my mother's house and I've been using it for almost 10 years. Never had any problems or issues, with a stuff or returns, or bad products or anything at all. They have enough people who working pretty fast and ready to answer all of your questions. This occurred Thursday August 8th. Called staples to ask about drop off package questions. No one answered the phone for 15 minutes. When I got the staples I understood why. I went to drop off my package and decided might as well buy my school supplies now since class is starting in two weeks. I entered in and I started feeling water drip on me. I thought I was imagining things so I just continued to walk. As I walked, more water started to drip in me by the binder section. I left that spot to look for art supplies. As I walk towards the back of the store, most of the teenage workers were all chatting up. They formed a circle to socialize. I only saw two people in the back really working and putting the supplies back on the self. Two other teenage workers decided it would be fun to play on the ladder. The girl sat on top and the other girl shook it at the bottom. UHHH HELLO SAFETY HAZARD! Got all the things I needed and got out of there quickly. As I approached the front of the store, the environment was totally different from the back. The cashiers were actually nice and engaging. The workers were actually working. This store is always well stocked. The only issue that I have at this location is the lack of staff and customer service. Even when there is staff the majority of them fail to even acknowledge you. Prime example. Today the store was not busy and I walk in with about 5 small packages to be dropped off for UPS. Honestly, the worst, most useless employees--very difficult to shop there. Forget about 10 years ago when the woman kept telling me 'return your toner cartridges for cash' without ever telling me it was 'Staples Bucks'! which isn't actually cash ('well, you know what I meant!'...of course, you work at Staples). So, earlier, it must have been near break time when I was told decisively that 'what you see is all we have left' of the charging pads, in the section with mostly charging cables. Slim pickings, so I decided to look elsewhere, but then checking out headphones in the next aisle, directly across was a whole array of charging pads--different brands, styles, wattage, prices: exactly what I had been looking for (note: Doody hardware lady couldn't find a tube of caulk...could be a superfund zone). Last time I came for a wired mouse and left with a wireless--that was dumb of me, thinking the wire was in the packaging...but I did ask specifically, and said I was confused (hence the need for workers). read more

I'm completely an understanding and patient customer, especially with school coming back in session, but these last few visits have been a disaster and complete disappointment. Went on a Wednesday around noon to fax some papers & get some things printed on stock paper & after waiting 28 minutes with only 2 people in front of me (that were only mailing something) I was told to go to the copy machine and do it myself. I simply explain I am not that knowledgeable when it comes to printing and faxing and asked for help & was told "no, can't you see we're busy, just go there ". None of the employees nor management helped help me. I gave the copying a shot and it was completely messed up. A simple minute and a half from the printing team would have gone a long way. Instead, I left, unaccomplished and in total shock and disbelief. I wish they would have told me 30 minutes sooner they weren't gonna help me, so I didn't waste my time. This Staples is HORRIBLE! STUPID AND LYING STAFF!!! I went to this staples for Black Friday at 6am just when the sales has started. My purpose was to get the Camera Bundle which included the camera, 2gb memory card, a case and a free Canon Photo Printer. I waited in line for a hour so I can be dealt with an ignorant cashier. They had the camera in stock but when I asked if the case and card was in the box. The cashier looked at the box and goes "I guess so". I looked at the box myslef to see if she was right and of course the case and memory card are not included in the box. When I told her, she did not know what to do, what memory card or case it was and mind this: this promotion was advertise BIG on the staples black Friday ad so how the hell would you not know about it. 10 mins passed by so they can tell me that they ran out of the camera cases!!!! unbelievable why the f**k advertise it if you're not going to have the promotion. Wait it gets better... I decided to check out the staples at union square to see if they would have and I went around 2pm. They had the camera with the bundle plus there was no line to wait on!!! Though the cashier also was slow with the deal and took a while to ring it up. After the purchase I asked if the rebate for the Canon Printer was in the receipt and the cashier said yes. Stupidly of me I did not check the rebate, taking her word for it. I go home that night to find out that you have to buy the photo printer first in order to get it for free. I figured I go back to the Staples on 2892 Ocean Ave. Worst Mistake!!! I go in there and ask one of the associate if they still had the photo printer that was part of the deal. She goes we're sold out so I asked her if I can find it in a different staples. She goes hold on and said you have to had buy a camera 1st to get the deal and I said i did. So after nearly two years of yelping, this is my first one star review. It has nothing to do with the people who work here. The problem is that there simply are not enough people working here. I showed up at 9 o'clock to buy some printer ink but the line was so long that I ordered it on 1-800-staples while I waited. I never got to the front of the line today but at least I know that the printer cartridge that I need is on its way to me. It is now 9:40 of a Friday, whatever I needed to print will have to wait till Monday when it is expected to arrive. If I was exasperated, imagine how the checkout people feel. It's sad how many negative reviews this Staples location has received. But the truth is that it's an oasis for office supplies and other related stuff in Sheepshead Bay where nothing else exists. The closest electronics store is Best Buy in Kings Plaza which is miles away. The staff are friendly, but it can get very busy. The photocopy center is quite helpful for self-copy. I learned the hard way to not print from the computer and flash drive USB, $0.50/copy is much too expensive. You can copy for $0.15 on the self-copy and you can print from a flash drive USB. read more

This is probably the only major office supply store in the area. Located on the corner of Ave Y and Ocean Ave, this store is decently sized and compares well with the many other Staples that I've visited in the suburbs. I mainly visit this store to purchase printer ink and have occasionally purchased SD memory cards, multifunction printers, and other functional items. The prices are not too expensive especially when factoring in travel costs to other stores. For example, making a trip by subway to Manhattan negates the savings I would get for less expensive printer inks. I would occasionally visit this place just to browse the new novelty and electronic items they have. I had hoped to use their fax machine but could never find it in working order. read more

Went in on memorial day to use their fax services. Shipping side and printing services is amazing! 2 stars are going fully to them. They did my job quickly, helped me with some questions I had. Were absolutely a delight to work with. There were about 3 people overall in the store, I needed to get some packing items for my business. Store has a lot of variety but is overpriced in my opinion, found a handful of things that I was very excited for. When I got to the register, I let the cashier know that one of the items were on the clearance but there was no UPC barcode or anything. He called over the head (I wouldn't want to call him a manager, he was around 18!) Cashier, and he went to look for information for the item. I have purchased 5 items, 3 of those items had a different pricing from what the shelves said I let the cashier and the head guy know of this because it was annoying. Since I took them out of my purchase I had to go back and look for the cheaper priced and more accurately priced items. When I came back to the cashier again he scuffed and rolled his eyes. When the same cashier rung up the items they were yet again the wrong price of a difference of $5, I just didn't have the time for this especially since theres no customer service in this store and it was run by high school children. I told them how I felt, they just stared at me like I had 20 heads and I left. Here's my nightmare story with this STAPLES in general and especially this and coney island location which I will also give a proper review, I went to this location on Friday to print my business cards and I was in rush but guess what, their self service computer which is made for printing services wasn't reading PDF file format, so I had to leave and wait till I was able to place order from my laptop the next morning, It was crucial to my business plans that I had my biz cards by Saturday Evening, so 10AM my design and everything necessary was ready to go, I placed the order for Ocean av location, they called me at 12 noon, A person on the phone is asking if it's fine to pick business cards by MONDAY, I explain my situation to this person and also add that I placed the order for same day pick up for a reason on which he agrees and offers to transfer the order to the different store instead on which I obviously agree, he promises to have everything sorted and guarantees that I'll pick up my business cards on Coney Island Av location by 8:30 max, I say bye and go happily go back to other tasks, 2 hrs later I still don't have any update whatsoever so I figured something wasn't right, called staples corporate explained everything to them they told me they would check, they had me on hold for 20 minutes, this isn't exaggeration even a bit, 20minutes on hold but business cards where so important to me at that point that once she came back and told me she fixed everything and guaranteed 100% I'd pick up my business cards at Coney Island Av location by 8:30PM I didn't even complain about hold time just thanked them and continued waiting, It's close to 8PM NO UPDATE, NOT A SINGLE EMAIL TEXT MESSAGE OR A PHONE CALL, it's me again who calls THEM on Coney Island Av location a lady on the phone asks for my name to check order status, I repeated it several times loud and clear she confirmed, then put me on hold to check, I was ON HOLD FOR EXACTLY 15 MINUTES, she comes back and repeats my lastname and asks if that's correct, I confirm again, she leaves again and comes back exactly after 7 MINUTES just to say she didn't find everything, I mentioned store transfer situation to her on which she said - "Oh that order? Ocean Av couldn't print because of no resources and they passed it to us and we couldn't print it either..." at this point I'm super frustrated and confused because I've got no idea what happened, several people confirmed it with me several times now this and she isn't even saying what I'm supposed to do, I've already paid the money for same day pick up and made my plans, so I'm asking why didn't anyone give me heads up so I could ask other company or what am I supposed to do now? she says she doesn't know because I apparently paid money to Ocean Av not her store, I explained to her that in fact there's Staples corporate and those two stores are just different branches of same company and I placed the order on Staples.com not directly tru Ocean Av store so whatever she is saying and the way she is pretty much cutting me off is super unprofessional and impolite especially after all the struggle I've already had with staples and all it's employees and as a response she hangs up the phone on me, it's midnight and I still haven't called them back or Staples corporate because I have no nerves left to wait on hold for infinity or receive such harsh treatment from them, I probably suffered PTSD from dealing with them just for a day, my 2 option are either just forget them and never ever deal with them in my life and continue my life in peace or sue them for making me lose hundreds of dollars, very important customer and all of my patience, I'd rather just do the first one, and JUST TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU GUYS ARE NOT GOING TO THE SAME EXACT HELL I'M WRITING THIS REVIEW AND OTHER REVIEWS ON GOOGLE AND OTHER PLATFORMS, PAY JUST A LITTLE BIT MORE AND PRINT YOUR STUFF ELSEWHERE, THERE'S BUNCH OF PLACES AROUND WHO HAVE LOT BETTER SERVICE AND WHO ARE NOT GOING TO MAKE YOUR BUSINESS SUFFER. read more
