This place has the worst customer service of any business I've been to. The last three times I went there they did not have the basic office supplies that I needed. For example they did not have a green highlighter pen or a desk lamp. All things you would expect to find at an office supply store. The most irritating is their hours. They close at 8 on week nights. Early, but I'm fine with it. The problem is when you show up at 7:55 and they won't let you in because the store is closing in 5 minutes. Don't they get it that target is just a few doors down and has, so far had the office supplies that I was unable to find at staples? Additionally, target has more convenient hours and better customer service. You can probably guess where I'll be getting my office supplies from now on. read more

My husband and I went to purchase a new printer tonight (to replace a broken one, also purchased at Staples) and was at the checkout, with the printer and new ink. I wanted to exchange two unopened ink cartridges, from the broken printer and showed the salesperson (Jon) my emailed receipt. He called the store manager, Steve, over for an approval. Steve was gruff from the start, glanced at the ink cartridges and said he could only exchange one of them. When we asked why, he said one of them expired in August 2017. I tried to show him the receipt that showed the date 8/28/17 (so I was sold an expired cartridge) and he quickly exclaimed that I did not purchase the cartridges at "his" store. I disagreed and said I have the receipt to prove it. He then rudely remarked "I GUARANTEE YOU DID NOT". At this point, my husband and I said cancel the sale and walked out of the store. ***Update: After sharing my experience with corporate, I received a call from the store manager, Tony (apparently Steve was an assistant manager) who apologized and asked that we come back and meet with him so he "could make things right". Horrid place. In the enormous store I saw about 5 employees working. They were all on register, not one of them on the floor helping customers. After I finally got the attention of the employees after about 15 minutes of standing at the service desk, I asked my question and they told me "aisle 2" and that's it. I clearly don't know what I needed and needed help but after she answered my question she just ran away. My advice? Focus more on customer service. Have more people working at a time. Seriously such a frustrating experience, I'm never coming back to this branch again. read more

I love the local Camarillo Staples. The store is always fully stocked, never out of my printer ink! There is a particularly spunky young woman that works in the copy department and casheirs sometimes - she's super duper friendly and excited. I always leave cracking up and with a big grin when she helps me out. The staff is friendly, always greet me and whenever a team member walks by always asks if I need help. It's well organized and I feel like I can always find what I need. I don't spend too much time wandering around hunting for things like at other stores. read more

I am a board member of a local nonprofit organization. I placed a "copy&print" order online on Friday, December 16, 2016. It wasn't a huge order (538 pages), but it was certainly more than I wanted to print myself. The order confirmation stated that it would be ready for pickup late on Saturday, December 17. I went to the store at about 10:30 AM on Sunday, December 18. I was told that the order showed being complete, but they couldn't find it. They offered to print it again, so I agreed. After waiting about 35 minutes, I was told that the order was complete. I immediately noticed that the copies were not stapled as per the order. The clerk started to staple the documents manually, but was making mistakes as to where one document ended and the next began. Somewhat frustrated, I told her to stop stapling, and that I would do that at home. At home, I found that the printed documents included only 8 of 24 that were in that job! It is easy to understand why reviews for the Camarillo store are so low, but difficult to understand why Staples puts up with this. read more

After reading all the reviews for this branch, sounds like it really depends which employee you come in contact with. Regardless, I'm going to leave this here because I felt Ed's customer service was superior, and he should be recognized. If you are headed to Staples, look for Ed! **************************************************************** Yesterday I came in to buy a myriad of things including the super sale back-to-school items so I could donate to my daughter's preschool. By the time I was ready to check out, a line of about 8 customers had gathered. Shortly after standing there, an employee -- Ed -- looked up in the middle of scanning items and made eye contact with each of us in line and let us know he would be right with us. That doesn't sound like a big thing, but it is! That is such a lost art in customer service these days but so critical in customer retention. Another thing Ed did which, again, is seldom seen is he took the initiative and made some price adjustments to match the back-to-school price since the products weren't ringing up correctly and the signs were still up. Usually these days employees would have to stop what they're doing and find management to make a simple price adjustment. Instead he took control of the situation, made it happen, and didn't waste everyone else's time in line. Not sure if this is an Ed thing or a Staples thing, but good job Staples for empowering your employees to take care of situations and finding resolutions. And thank you, Ed, for a very enjoyable shopping experience. I wish more employees had Ed's attitude, know-how, confidence and awareness. read more

I love this place. I had a problem with my ink, and my all in one device and I continuously had problems for 3 months in a row . I tried so hard to fix the problem and when I had no one else to turn to, Tony helped me out. I walked away with a low end model printer and I was super stoked!! and I took it home and .....again I had problems. The scanner wasnt picking up all the color profiles....I took my low end model back after 2 months of fidgeting, talking to HP, thinking it was a problem on my end and again a strolled back into staples and Jeorge helped me out, we sat there in the lonely printer isle for about 30 minutes trying to get an example scan onto our phones before I made my purchase. He was calm, knowledgable, polite and professional. I left with a high end model printer and when i got to the counter he was quick, reasonable and I left super stoked....i scanned my painting and BOOM! I was back in business. Awful! I hate giving bad reviews but this particular Staples is ridiculous. First of all they are over priced, but I can live with that. It's the customer service I have a problem with. There is never anyone on the floor to help you, so I wait until the checkers line is clear (no customers) and ask him a simple question about ink cartridges. He has no idea and spends 10 minutes looking up on his computer then points to where they are. I asked if he could just take me over to get the one I need and he says NO! Fine so I go find it myself and get in his line again and when it's my turn he takes someone from another line first saying "they were waiting longer"..... Third bad experience in a row. They don't have much in stock. which I can forgive since it could be up to corporate on what they get and don't get but what cant be forgiven is the terrible customer service. from the floor people who are very far and few between and by that I mean non. After asking my question the associate refused to go help me look and told me to check michaels because they didn't have it... After looking for it I found what I was looking for. Poor customer service. I visited this store on Sunday, Nov. 6th, looking for a laptop. No one greeted me, as they do at other Staples stores. Then, while looking at the laptops, someone from across the store loudly says 'can I help you'. No... come close to me and ask me in a regular tone. Eventually, a short, heav-set, tattooed (stars on her arm) clerk comes to help, only to try to aggressively up-sale me by insulting my intelligence. I was interested in the laptop that was on sale, which she described as a slow computer I wouldn't want. Well the laptop was normally $400, which should NOT be slow at that price. It was on sale for $250. I asked her isn't a it a good computer, even for $250, since it's normally $400. She said it's never sold at the regular price, only the sale price. THEN, THAT'S NOT A SALE PRICE IF IT'S THE REGULAR PRICE. Overall, her attitude was condescending and unprofessional. Will never come back. read more

Horrible! Extremely unprofessional and so inconvenient! I went in the day before at 3pm they said it would be completed no later than 8pm and would call. Never called. I go at 1pm the next day waited for 25 minutes to find out they did not do it. Three customers left upset while I was waiting.... she then stated in front of me "I'm going to kill my employee she didn't do it I just called her so now you have to come back later"! Do NOT bring your cell phones here. Basically walked in with a crack in my screen and walked out with an internally broken phone with no color. On Tuesday I got my cracked phone screen replaced by Chris (super nice) and he even gave me a special discount because it was busy that day. Phone got fixed and everything was fine. However, not even 48 hours later my phone goes dark and the screen won't turn on at all. Brought it in this morning and gave them time to fix it (again) and put on a new screen. When I came to pick it up though they said that they couldn't get it to work and the manager guy tried to blame me for damaging it in the last 48 hours. My phone worked FINE before I brought it into Staples. The manager guy automatically told me I would be without a phone for a week while he sent it "out" to be repaired. Where is "out"? And shouldn't you let me decide what to do with my phone? I ended up asking for a refund and sat there 30 more minutes for them to put my original broken screen back on so I could take it back to Apple. And surprise, my original screen worked but everything is in black and white now and have no service. So obviously I did not break my phone thank you very much, Staples just doesn't know how to properly apply a phone screen, or maybe their products are crap. Don't bring your phone here, they will break it. And not apologize for it. read more
