I'm letting people know that I have purchased a 200.00 gift card from staples. I was cheated out of over 140.00 from a vendor that I had purchased a charge of 5.00, and a charge for 53.35, that's 58.65. Total! I tried to use this card to make another purchase but it was declined and this is the second time this has happened. Don't buy these cards from staples in Frederick Md on Urbana pike they are ripping the consumer off by selling these cards before you pay out your hard earned money for them. We were often at the self-service center to copy/print music notes for our daughter's piano lessons. The big-size paper tabloid 11*17 was selected for copying, and most of the time, someone always helped cut out the excess bottom length from the paper using the Professional Rotary Paper Trimmer/Cutter available in the store. This time, however, we were strongly denied by both agents because they were "too busy". They couldn't help us even if it would take only a minute or two. Instead, they suggested we do it ourselves using their scissors. We then addressed the issue with the manager and hoped for better customer service in the future. We did leave the store disappointed as we wanted the copies to look neat for our daughter's professional performance. We don't think we will go back there again though. read more

I ordered a computer monitor online and selected "In Store Pick-Up" then was told it was available at the store. When I arrived to get it, I was then told that I can't have it because I ordered it online and have to wait 2 days!!! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Went to pick-up an online order early in the morning, when it wasnt busy. I wasn't acknowledged for over 5 minutes although there were plenty of associates standing around doing nothing. Finally, another associate came over and although I was next in line, decided to help the first white male in line instead. Employees are never eager to help. They act like they are doing you a favor by providing a crappy attitude and subpar work. So unless you are a white male, take your business someplace else. read more

I thought I was going to see a grown man cry. I'll start from the beginning. Visit one to this Staples: I thought I was going to fall over I had been standing in line so long. There were actually three cashiers working, but I don't know what was happening because I swear we waited more than 20 minutes. I think I started to hear someone in the next line over start to snore. It also didn't help that we scoured the store and never saw a single sales associate to help us with what we were looking for. Visit two: I had ordered something from Staples.com that I was told (at the store during my previous visit) that I could just return in store. I figured it was a quicker way to get my money back than waiting for my items to arrive back at the Staples warehouse. Boy was I wrong. First, there was some issue with the order and they had to return it a weird way because they don't sell an item like I had purchased in store. Ok, I can deal with that. The manager left a cashier to work on this. He was mumbling something under his breath the whole time complaining about having to do this chore. At one point during the return process, everything he was working on disappeared. He started jabbing at the touch screen harder and harder in disbelief exclaiming "It's gone! It's just all gone!" I think he was about to cry. Did he expect me to leave at this point and go, "Oh it's no big deal. Forget about it?" Um, I think not. So then he calls his manager in a very huffy unprofessional tone whining that it was gone and he needed help. The manager comes and gives him a phone to call some Staples hotline to process it. Next, the cashier dials the number and while on hold keeps mumbling about how 'it just disappeared' and 'why did he [the manager] leave me all alone to do this' and 'I don't know what I'm doing'. He finally gets on the phone with Staples and exclaims to them throughout the return process about how his manager left him to do this. Oh yeah, the jabbing hard at the touchscreen continued, too. It had been 15 minutes after entering the store and I am beyond uncomfortable. Not only is this man unprofessional, he's emotional and does not belong in customer service. Meanwhile, no one is around (including the manager) to rescue me from such behavior. Finally, my return is processed and I ran out of the store before I could witness the rest of this individual's mental breakdown. read more

Staff are always willing to help at this Staples (Frederick). Easy parking and access. If something is needed for rework - they are willing to do it. Turn around on jobs is quick. read more

Poor customer service! Been here twice in the last month and each time the computers were down or running really slow. The general manager woman, Irene I think wAs on one register and another girl on one register. Lines were getting piled up and the other cashier called the gm from her register where she had a woman with large order. There was an old man in front of me that had given the cashier two coupons. The cashier didn't know what to do. The gm told him , sir if you wanted to use these you should have told her at the beginning , and I must say she said in a snarky tone! Then he pointed to the cashier and said I told her (calmly but you could tell he was frustrated)gm responded with "sir if you could calm down and give me a moment I will figure this out!" She said in a very nasty tone! Some general manager!!! She directed me to another cash register over at copies.. I almost walked out without buying anything but I won't be back!! read more

I just wanted to say how grateful I was for the care and attention I received at this Staples. The manager was very helpful and he, along with his employees, created a beautiful calendar for a remote Mayan Indian village in Belize, Central America. The residents of the village have never had any printed materials with pictures of their own village and were thrilled to receive it. Hats off to a kind and generous store! read more

This is an average generic Staples; clean, well lit, fairly large, often moderately understaffed, understocked and unhelpful. Nothing like the office supply stores of old, where you might develop a relationship with lifetime employees (but things cost much more). Like many brick and mortars, you're usually better off not accepting offers of help from roaming employees who either know less than you do, try to rush you or sell you something. For some reason this store is more likely to have what you want than the 7th Street store. Staples opens way late on a Sunday (I'm not waiting hours to get a roll of tape). Despite all that, this has the dubious distinction of being the best office supply store in Frederick. Wouldn't go out of my way for it, however. Most of what they have, there's something very similar available at the nearby Walmart for less. And the not cheap Staples branded shredder I bought a year or two ago just died (guess I won't be buying another one of those). read more

I never write reviews on businesses usually but I felt compelled to after my experience at this location and the other one on 7th street. I wanted to get two photo prints made for my father for Christmas. I originally came to this location and the young girl was helpful initially. I thought everything was good to go. I came a couple days later as I was told they would be ready. To my surprise nothing had been done due to their printer not working. I was told the files could be sent to 7th street. I said okay and again waited a couple more days. I called the 7th street location and they had no record of my order and no idea where it had gone. Prior to calling 7th street this location called me to tell me one of the files had been deleted and I needed to bring them the file again. I told the woman at 7th street to forget about it to which she replied, "Okay." It was a customer service disaster for an easy request which they specialize in. I highly recommend the Office Depot for any photo print needs. The young Hispanic girl was great and completed my prints while I waited, great service. I will never go back to Staples. read more
